Add video without embedding

Hi there. I have a very large Keynote presentation in which I'd like to place around 12 or so large video files. Each one is around 300mb and the resulting file size becomes huge and unmanageable if they are all embedded (about 5GB, just saving the file takes 5 mins or so.. not good). So instead I would like them to merely be 'linked' - that is, I'd like them in a folder along with the Keynote but not INSIDE the Keynote.
The thing is, that when i go into preferences and uncheck 'copy audio and moveis into document', the result is exactly the same as if the box is checked, even after deleting all the movies, restarting the program and trying again with the box unchecked - the filesize increases in direct proportion to the movies being added, even though they are not supposed to be embedded.
Is there something I'm missing? Is there another option that I haven't selected? Is there a problem with the format of the movies? They are all h.264 Quicktimes at 1920x1080, same resolution as the slideshow. I'm using the latest version of Keynote (9), on Snow Leopard.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

You have to choose from the very beginning whether you want to embed videos or not. To change this setting later, you need to create a brand new presentation, make sure embedding is turned off, select all the slides in the old presentation and drag them into the new. I believe it's better to delete the movie slides before doing this and add them back to the new presentation where they will only be linked, not embedded.

  • Add Video without Library Replacement??

I don't think this is possible, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
I have a large music and video collection on a G5 desktop that I use as my main iTunes collection. I sync my 5G iPod with that desktop. I also have a PowerBook G4 that I use for travel, that I keep a much smaller collection of tunes on just for syncing with a mini when I travel.
Here's my question. I'm on the road and would like to download last night's episode of "Lost" to watch on my 5g. Is there anyway to add the episode to the iPod without having to replace my entire library that is already on the iPod from my desktop?
    Thanks

You can dissolve to a clip that's not on the primary storyline. You can also connect the clip and then overwrite it into the primary.
the add Video only feature is broken
How are you doing this? Insert will not wipe out what's in the timeline. Are you doing an overwrite from the browser? Don't. It overwrites, video and audio. The video and audio are a single track on the primary unless you detached the audio.

  • Add video without shift?

Weird.... I've been using FCPX for months, and after upgrading to 10.0.2, I can't seem to simply place a shot over top of other video without it shifting the entire timeline.
I have a talking head and want to dissolve to another shot. But when I add the shot (without audio) to the timeline, it shifts the audio as well, so after the shot, the audio is no longer in sync with the talking head. I don't want to use the Connect option because I need to dissolve to the shot, so it has to be in the primary storyline.
So how do I cover the talking head without shifting the timeline???

how can i add videos, movies and tv shows episodes to my ipod nano?I want to know whether i can directly add them through my pc or not without downloading them from i tunes store?

Yes, you can add your own videos to iTunes, then sync them to your nano, subject to supported max resolution limit and file type.  The specs for the 7th gen nano says (I don't know which nano model you have), Video Format Support
"H.264 video: 720 by 576 pixels, 30 frames per second; Baseline, Main, and High-Profile level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 256 Kbps; 48kHz; stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 Mbps, 720 by 576 pixels, 30 frames per second; Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 256 Kbps; 48kHz; stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats"
    http://www.apple.com/ipod-nano/specs.html
(earlier nanos have lower max resolution limits)
So, "HD" video is too high resolution, so iTunes will not sync such videos to the iPod (although they play in iTunes).  If you are asking how to set up iTunes to sync videos in general (regardless of source), please post back.

  • How to add an image to an imovie 9.0.4 video without stopping the video or audio

I am creating a video in iMovie 9.0.4 and I would like to add images to my video without interrupting the audio.  I read online about a Cutaway option but when I followed the directions I was not given an cutaway option.  Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks!

    Hi
Did You turn on Advanced Tools ?
First Choise possibly - Visa avancerade verktyg / Show advanced tools
TimeLine set to show ONE ROW of Clips.
Then take a photo (.jpg) and drop it ON TOP OF the Clip in TimeLine where You want it to be.
Now You should get a drop down Menu - Select Cutaway.
    Done
in iMovie'13 (version 10.0.x) this is very different !

  • How can I add photos to a video without interrupting the sound of the original video?

In PE11, How can I add photos to a video without interrupting the sound of the original video?

    RLHeflin
Thanks for getting your details posted. Good job.
    You further explained
I am simply wanting to “overlay” a new visual element without disturbing the underlying audio.
A classical way to do a Premiere Elements Overlay is to hold down the Ctrl key of the computer main keyboard and drag the new clip over the area of the one you want to replace on the Timeline. That should not do anything but replace one portion of the video on the Timeline. No change in duration video or audio track if you are dealing with video linked to audio.
If you hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard, I am envising a scenario where you want to add to (not replace) some Timeline content.
A just in case note, if you have video on Video 1 and 2 and the video in 2 does not have transparent areas in it, then all you will see is the Video 2 content. I believe that Hunt eluded to that concept as a possible technique for what you might be doing.
Another just in case, if you have not seen the following Adobe documentation on arranging clips, you might be interested in the following link

  • Can I add some UTF-16 characters(4 bytes, like japanese character) in to PDF,without embedding fonts

    Hi all,
I have some 4 bytes japanese characters, when I embedding the MSPMincho fonts to PDF file, the characters displays well, but can it works without embedding this fonts?
    Thanks and Regards

    Try this (not tested):
    import oracle.sql.CharacterSet;
    CharacterSet csDB=CharacterSet.make(CharacterSet.ZHS32GB18030);
    int byteLenDB = csDB.convert("your string").length;
Note, ZHS32GB18030 is currently supported as the client character set only. You should better not define a database with this character set. (See: Database Globalization Support Guide, Table A-9). It looks like we have to clarify this, because DBCA lists ZHS32GB18030 and CREATE DATABASE accepts it.
The DB character set does not seem to be available through any public API (though it is retrieved and stored internally). You have to query the database.

This is where the call center directed me. I do not understand the web language please forgive my miss use of words or language. I am a novice.
So here is what has happened so far..
Adobe will not help me over the phone =( because
First time Adobe does not support templates... So I started over.
Second time Adobe does not support customization code (Not that I know how do to this either =) So I started over again.
    Now I'm on try 3
I have a new Muse file without a template and made 100% in muse except for the Photoshop files.
I want to add video to my muse web site using a lightbox WITHOUT uploading to youtube or vimeo. I can not post videos there because I do not want YouTube or Vimeo to take away the copyright when it is my clients and or mine.
I would like to have the videos hosted or embedded on my server.  The person on the phone said something about iFrames ????
I would like to do it in a way so If I have to call adobe again it will be supported.
    I'm really confused..Please, Thank You,
    Anthony

  • Associating artwork with songs without embedding images in song files

Is it possible to associate artwork with songs in iTunes without embedding images in song files?
I'd like to see album covers in iTunes but don't want to waste the storage space on my iPod.
    Thanks

You can add your own artwork (for covers iTunes does not get) to coverflow wihtout embedding it into the ID3 tags.
    See this -> http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=2006100111071871
I haven't tried it yet but others have had success.

  • Exporting without embedding profile

I want to export some files for printing by a service bureau using a custom profile which is 1.87 MB and do no not want to embed the profile. The images will then be sent directly to the printer without any adjustments and the profile is not needed. This is an option in Photoshop, but I have not found a way to do this in Lightroom. Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on the lab or service. In CMYK workflows, folks by and large just send the numbers within the data to the device as is. The only use for an ICC profile would be if someone wants to open the image and view it correctly (or edit it). In such workflows, it is common for such shops to receive maybe hundreds of output ready CMYK files. Even at 1mb per image, it adds up. Even so, unless bandwidth is an issue, I still recommend an embedded profile. In the very old days (1990’s) some old RIPs would barf on an embedded profile so people stripped them out. I seriously doubt those RIPs are still running and if so, I’d be worried to work with such a shop.
Lab’s that can accept output ready RGB should work the same way. But there are far more labs that expect sRGB and if the OP sent data in something other than sRGB, the front end would make a mess of the output. You’d want an embedded profile assuming the front end can even recognize it and pop some alert.
Perhaps I should have mentioned that I am not dealing with a full service lab, but rather my local Costco which has custom profiles on DryCreek.com. The local personnel do not know a lot about color management, but there is an option on uploading to print the files with no adjustments and they are sent directly to a Fuji Frontier printer. I do most of my more important printing with my Epson 3880, but send small prints to Costco and have have good results without embedded profiles saved as such from Photoshop.
I have sent some prints to CostCo using their custom profiles and left the profile in place.  The CostCo I used simply ignored the embedded profile.

  • Add  video and video recorder to iWeb like facebook?

First, how do you add video to iWeb similar to facebook, simple click record from MAC and add to page?
Possible to add recorder on the website? What about if you have your own website domain and use iWeb and or Dreamweaver? Is this possible?
    Thanks

You are talking about some thorough web programming knowledge here. For the average iWeb user, If you get it working, I assure you; I will give YOU credit
Alternatively I would suggest having an iChat webcam link on your page and record the webcam where the user leaves a comment which saves a file on your computer. You can then take that file and upload it to your host and have the video displayed on your webpage. This takes little-to-no programming knowledge but comes with limitations of you being present on your computer with iChat logged on then manually enabling screen recording upon video conversation and then manually managing file in terms of compression, upload, embed. So one end you have to learn a lot but afterwards it's all automated where the other end you don't have to know much but you have to be around doing a +lot of work+ to get it to work.
setup ichat account and add highlighted code into iweb snippet to create ichat link. when someone initiates chat with your ichat account logged on and both parties have webcam connected, video chat can be enabled where video chat can then be captured as video file to your computer and uploaded/embedded back into your site as video comment.

  • Flash CMS - ability to add video clips

I have a client who would like to be able to add video clips
to their Flash site without having to get into and edit the Flash
file. Is this realistic, or should I stick to setting up a CMS for
them to edit text, and I just continue to add video clips for
    them?

    Hi there
Normally Captivate only understands the FLV format. You probably need to find a converter to convert the clips to FLV.

If you can view a ProRes 4-2-2 video at all, then you either have the independent ProRes422 Playback component installed or the FCP "Pro" video components installed.

Check your "~/Library/QuickTime" folder for your various "Pro" components. If in doubt that you have them all, re-run the FCP installer and it should add any missing components, apps, or utilities.
