Add wireless printer to my ipad

Im not sure how to add my printer to my iPad

Printing from an iPad or iPhone
To print directly from an iPad you need an AirPrint - enabled printer on the same wireless network as the iPad. All AirPrint printers are wireless but not all wireless printers are AirPrint-enabled.
If you do not have an AirPrint printer, a number of workarounds exist that enable the use of any printer you normally use, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades. Search for the following products:
handyPrint (Mac only, donation-supported)
Printopia (Mac only, $19.95 with free trial)
These are utilities you install on the Mac you normally use for printing, enabling it to act as an AirPrint print server. The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. The iPad needs nothing else, no iOS apps need to be installed and no configuration is necessary. If your computer can print, so can the iPad, using one of these utilities on your Mac.
Equivalent utilities may exist for PCs but I have no experience with them - I suggest https://www.collobos.com
There are also iOS apps available from printer manufacturers that enable printing directly from your iPad to selected printers. Search for them in the App Store.
You can also buy this standalone hardware print server, bypassing the need for a computer altogether:
http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver.html
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer or multifunction device. I recommend you consider AirPrint compatible Brother printers and multifunction devices.
Read the reviews and choose wisely.

I cannot print to HP LaserJet Prof. P1102w_1 wireless printer with my iPad although it appears that this is a compatible printer.  My computer prints to this printer.  All other components of my wireless options and router are working.

    Hi,
Did you updated the printer firmware?
The P1102w only support AirPrint with the latest firmware, not with the version shipped with the device.

How do I add wireless printer or Direct tv

These devices would be added the same way that any other wireless device is added as a client to a network......
    1)  Scan to select the network
    2)  Enter the wireless network password
Keep in mind that DirecTV cannot connect to a wireless network if there are special characters.....like an apostrophe, asterisk, dollar sign, etc......in the wireless network name.
So if your wireless network is named something like Ernestomelia's Wireless Network, DirecTV will not be able to to connect. Instead, the network should read something like ernestomelia network. A shorter name with no spaces would be better.
Your printer might have similar requirements, but you did not provide the make or model number of the device....so we don't have much to go on here. In general, you would want to contact support at the printer manufacturer for more specific information.

  • Setting up a hp 6600 wireless printer for the ipad

How do you set up a wireless printer on an iPad?

If your printer is AirPrint compatible, then it should pretty much work out of the box after you install the software on your computer and set up the wireless settings for the printer. Sometimes you need to upgrade the firmware on the printer before it will work.
If your printer is not an AirPrint compatible printer, you need a third party printing app or you need to install an app on your computer that will let you use the computer as your print server.

  • Cannot add wireless printer - can't get past "Add Printer"

Months ago I set up my Photosmart C4700 printer with my home wifi and MacBook Pro according to the HP instructions. All saw each other fine, the computer recognized the printer. But printing was terrible. Long hangs, half sheets, jobs queued for hours then later spat out in the middle of the night. All this has been reported elsewhere.
This morning I uninstalled all the HP software, upgraded to OSX 10.6.7 using Software Update and attempted to re-add the printer without using any of the HP code. Given the printer itself was previously set up to be on my wireless LAN, I attempted to add the printer from the MacBook over wifi without relying on the USB cable.
The add printer dialogue lists the Photosmart C4700 as a "Bonjour" printer (good). But when I select it and click "Add", I *very* briefly see a dropdown dialog entitled "Determining Discoverable Options" which disappears in less than half a second. I'm left back at the Add Printer screen. I can repeat this over and over with exactly the same result.
Any input on how to proceed would be most appreciated!

To print from an iPAD using the Lexmark S300 series, you need to download the LexPrint app from this link: LexPrint
    Hope this helps.

  • Which is best app so I can make my wireless printer compatible with ipad

I am trying to print from my ipad 2 wirelessly to my Canon MX870 but its not AirPrint compatible so I am looking for a good app that can help me to print

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Have you tried the Canon Easy PhotoPrint app for iOS available in the iTunes App store?
    Canon lists compatibility with MX870.
I've used it to scan and print from my wife's iPad 2 on my Canon MP560.
The Printopia app is often mentioned as a solution in these forums, but I've not used it.

  • Wireless printing from mini iPad

I have the HP Photosmart Premium series C309 which has wireless printing capability, but does not support AirPrint.  Is there any kind of adapter I can buy for it so that I can print from my mini iPad?

You can look in the App Store, see if HP has any printing apps for you.
You can also look at third party apps, such as print n share, print central or printopia and see if they'd work for you. I have print n share and a kodak printer and it works just fine for me.

  • How do setup an hp envy 4500 wireless printer from an iPad air tablet

I want to set up my HP Envy 4500 Wireless printer but, don't know how to that from my Apple IPad Air tablet, PLEASE help !!!
    Thanks

If you turn the wireless function on the printer on and select the print option for whatever it is you want to print, you should then be able to select the Envy printer  (from a list if there is more than one wireless printer around) and print to it via the Ipad's inbuilt Air print app. For example, on IOS7 when selecting a photo to print, the options Icon should look like this:     When you click the options Icon you should then be able to select the print Icon below:        You should then be in a position to select your printer. If the wi-fi function is on, then it should be visible.                             This link might also be useful: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356

  • Add wireless printer to my wireless laptop

I have spend many hours trying to add my wireless printer to my laptop. My laptop is wireless and is running on Linksys Router. I have a new HP Photosmart Premium C309a series. I did a wireless Network Test Report, the report states. Your wireless network is currently using the manufacturer's default network name SSID. It is recommended to change your network name (SSID) to be unique to avoid connecting to wireless network I've been trying to solve this problem and was able to at least see the document to be printed....but just want print. Will someone please help? My wife and I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thank you, Bill

I changed my SSID on the printer and ran a wireless network test report. Its say HP printer cannot find your wireless router. Check that your wireless router is powered on ......"which" it was. Check that your HP printer network name (SSID) matches your wireless router network name (SSID) exactly. If the don't match exactly, run the wireless network setup to configure your HP printer.   Network name (SSID) FAILED
How do I run a network router network name (SSID) to see if the names matches. When I changed the SSID name on the printer setup wizard, shouldn't name change be under the Select Network (SSID) category? If so its not showing the name change. I would like to thank you for your reply, It is obvious I'm doing something wrong try to get the names to match. Will you please tell me where I go from here?
