Added gift card but WON'T work! Please help!
Hi all, I hope someone can help me here. I added a $20 iTunes card to the account and it shows the credit beside my username "[email protected]" but whenever I go to buy something it says it is going to charge my credit card and if I click ok then it says that the card is declined... we don't have a credit card... we used to but got rid of it... question is: how do I get it to stop wanting me to pay via credit card and use my $20 balance instead??? I tried saying we have "none" for credit card, I even changed my email adress to a vaild one as the mac.com adress no longer works... can anyone help????? Thanks, Mary

If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast. If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used. The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID . Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network. A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default. Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you. You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files. Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.

Are you able to try taking it back to the store that you bought it from and ask them to activate it properly ? Dear apple user/employe, my name is Laksida and i came across this error.
My friend of sweden bought me a gift card worth of 25$
I tried to redeem it and got this error as i was in the netherlands and it was a swedish card.
then i got his account and tried to redeem it on his account ( his swedish account ) but got again the error it was invalid.
So i checked it at the check gift card balance (swedish) and it says it's valid with 25$ on it.
But it won't redeem on my account, so i had his account and it still didn't let me redeem it.
any help?You are not speaking to Apple. Gift cards can only be redeemed in the country in which they were purchased. Send it back to your friend. You can't use it ouside of Sweden.

i have a canadian account. when i tried using the gift card it said i couldn't use the spanish gift card with my canadian account. can someone help me solve this problem
the gift card is 15 eurosSorry, but you cannot use that card with a Canadian iTunes Store account. A gift card is valid only in the country of purchase. You'll need to give or sell that card to someone in Spain.

Itunes 10 Installs but won't open - Please Help
I had Itunes 10 installed working on my computer. I installed a program which also installed an older version of Quicktime which I think was version 6.5. The next time I tried to open Itunes it said I needed verion 7.5 of Quicktime to open Itunes please reinstall Itunes. Now comes the problem. I have installed and uninstalled Itunes about 10 times, everytime it install ok but does not open when I click on the icon. The itunes.exe file opens in task manager for a few seconds then closes. I have searched a few places for solutions with no avail. I have tried the correct order of removing apple programs and deleting temp folder and internet cache. I have tries msconfig but can't find any of the programs which have affected other users. I have tried creati9ng another user account for windows but Itunes still won't open. Can anyone please help. My computer is Windows 7 32 bit. Thank in advance.
No, the program I installed was Winavi MP4 which coverts video to ipod psp format etc.
Ack, that one's just as bad. It's been causing this sort of grief for iTunes users for over five years now.
What it has probably done here is drop old versions of QuickTime componentry in unorthodox locations on the PC (usually down in your operating system files). So we're going to go looking for that.
First we'll adjust some view settings on the PC.
1. From the Start menu, click Open.
2. In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
3. Click the View tab.
4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected, and the "Hide extensions for known file types" option is unchecked.
5. Click OK.
Now, in Computer, open your C drive (or whichever drive your operating system is installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
Open the "System32" folder.
What files or folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the file or folder name? (In a standard installation of QuickTime, you should see precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.) -
I have a 6gb micro and it won't work, please help
first off, the thing worked fine for the first day! i used microsoft media player to sync some songs to it without installing the software. well, the battery died, remembering it only has a 2 hour battery life! thing is, it wouldn't charge when it was hooked up the computer, it wouldn't even recognize it, so i called customer service and after an hour of being on hold, the lady tells me to install the software and it would work fine. when i did that, guess what, it didn't! it did the same thing, it wouldn't recognize the player and the player would not charge. i would think it was the usb cord, but the battery gets really hot, but the thing just won't turn on and the computer won't recognize it! please help me!
It's strange. How did you even manage syncing without installing the software on your computer - i mean, the computer has to recognise it before it can start processes.

Automatic Update Won't Work, Please Help!
Please help. I have the new 5G iPod and it has kinda been working fine for me. Everytime I go to plug it into my computer, the automatic udate won't start. The little iPod icon in the corner won't show up and when I go to pref. and click on iPod it says there is no iPod connected. I tried to restart the computer and iPod and plug it into a different USB port but still nothing works. I know I have new songs on there that I want to update on but the "Do not disconect" screen won't even come up. Any help would be great, thanks! =)
Try this:
Create a new user and make sure it is an Administrator account. Download and install iTunes.
If it installs properly, log out and then back in as you.
Uninstall iTunes using the method in this article:

You can always try a system restore too if the above steps don't work.
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > Next > pick a restore point (you will get later dates if you check the "Show more restore points" box) I would go back at least a couple days > Next > Finish. It may take a while then it will reboot. On reboot it will finish the restore so it may take longer than normal to boot. This will not change any of personal files, only system and program files. -
TS3274 My iPad screen won't work, please help!

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. My ipod wouldn't work at all so i sent it in and they sent me a new one. I thought yeah now itll work but boy was i wrong. It wont get formatted for Windows. The updater does not work and i uninstalled it and then reinstalled it but nothing. It automatically goes into disk mode and when i try to charge it the folder with the exclamation point. Please help me
First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are.
