Added iPod movie to iTunes - can't find it in the library

I converted a movie for my new iPod, and it seems that the only way to add movies to the iPod is to add them to the iTunes library.
Well, I did that, and the weirdest thing happened. I could add the movie to iTunes, but I couldn't add it to the library, the "plus"-sign didn't show there, but I could add it to one of the playlists. It also got transferred to the iPod, where I can watch it.
Since this was only a short test-clip, I wanted to remove it afterwards. Oops! it was in the library, and iTunes wouldn't even find it with the search-feature. So I re-synced the iPod with iTunes, to see if it was still there....and it was, but where? It was on my iPod, but I still couldn't find it on iTunes.
A search on spotlight revealed it: in the "Recently Added" playlist, but not in the library. Why is that?
After that I tried to delete it, but I couldn't delete it from the playlist. I had to use Spotlight again, and delete it from the finder.
Has anybody an explanation for all this? For now, I'm not adding anymore movies to the iPod, scared to lose some content with this unexpected behavior.

iTunes sorts all of your content into different Libraries depending on how it has been classified, e.g. Movies you download from the iTunes Store go in the Movies Library, Music and Music Videos go in the Music Library, and TV Shows go in the TV Shows Library. In Preference under the tab General there should be some options to show or hide certain Libraries. Make sure that the Movies box is checked and it should be fine.
If that doesn't work, or if it does, please come back and let us know.

  • ITunes can't find or create the iTunes Folder (in Vista). SOMEBODY HELP ME!

I have installed iTunes in my Windows Vista but i can't run it because it appears an error showing: iTunes can't find or create the iTunes folder. This folder is usually located in My Music Folder.
The problem is that I erased the original folder "my music" from my computer and even if I create another "my music" folder and I put in the iTunes folder, the program doesen't work.
    Please help me!
    Thanks very much.

The problem is that iTunes uses a registry entry to find the location of the Music folder and it is not correctly set.
Apple offer this help for Windows XP, however it requires a utility called TweakUI and Miscrosoft haven't released a version for Vista. I found this link for an alternative, but I know nothing about it so I don't like to recommend it:
    http://www.totalidea.com/content/tweakvi/tweakvi-index.html
As alternative to this you may be able to do the following as a work around:
Hold down the shift key, keep it held down and start iTunes. You should be asked to choose or create a library. Choose create and navigate to where you want your iTunes folder - usually in your Music folder.

  • I can't find in maverics the library/application support/aperture/plugins folder... anyone knows how to install pt lens plug in?

I can't find in maverics the library/application support/aperture/plugins folder... someone knows how to install pt lens plug in?

Your user library is hidden by default in Mavericks.
You can reveal it from the Finder's "Go" menu in the main menu bar:
    Finder > Go
Then hold down to options-key ⌥, until "Library" appears in the drop-down menu. Select it and open the Library. Then look for the folder "Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins".
Alternately you could install the plug-in for all users in "/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins", in the "Library" folder directly on your sytem drive.

  • How do you delete audiobooks downloaded from Overdrive from the library from my Ipod Nano when I can't find any of the titles under Music in iTunes?

I've been uploading audiobooks from Overdrive and now that I'm done listening to them I want to delete them. After I hook my Ipod 7th gen up to the comp, it pulls up iTunes and I go to Music but I can't find any of the book titles there. They all show up in my songs group on my iPod. I've been manually managing the songs so I don't get all my husbands stuff on there. I've cruised through the other sections and tried searching the library without any luck. Any advice???

  • HT2729 If I rent a movie from iTunes can I watch it on the airplane with my iPad?

How do I down load movies to watch on the airplane?

If you downloaded the movie to iTunes on your computer, you must move it to your iPad before you watch it (assuming you want to see it on your iPad).
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
This is done through iTunes on your computer, and involves synching with your iPad.

  • I'm new to audio books. After buying on iTunes can't find or play the book/file on my ios7

I can't find my audio book after purchasing using iOS 7. I understand with old iOS it was located in music app under More. Have tried buying again but no joy. Can't see it in my purchased section either........

Same problem. After 30 min figured it out.
    For me:
hooked up iphone 5 to imac
    Updated ios7
    updated itunes
downloaded audible.com app and signed in/registered
went to books tab on iphone while still plugged in
manual dowload selected audiobooks on syn audiobooks.
    sync and dowload onto iphone
    turned off iphone
    restarted
audiobooks were under more in music icon on iphone.
Rather long and silly-but worked.Just had to now redownload all my music as it erased music.
Seems you can not manually sync music, and audio books-its one or the other. When you click on,the other goes off.Just had to do it sequentially. What made apple a great company seems to be slowly eroding.

  • How can I find out where the Library files currently used by iTunes are located?

I have had a bit of a nightmare sorting out my iTunes files so I have various versions of Library files all over the place. How can I tell where the Library file that iTunes is currently using is located? In Preferences I can see the Library "Name", but I don't think that is much help. Preferences also shows where my i-Tunes media folder is but not where the Library files are.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Ah, I was assuming you would search in Finder and display some details. All alternative approach is to Option start iTunes and click the Choose option. It should show a file selection box targeted at the folder of the currently active library.

  • AirPort Express connected to an iPod Hi-Fi; iTunes can't find the speaker.

    Hi,
I've been trying to get my Hi-Fi to show up in iTunes via an AirPort Express connected to a MBP without much success..
First I had some trouble connecting the Express to my exisisting wireless network (Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway WAG300N), but once I changed the WEP key to a correct lenght I got it working (green light on the Express). Actually I'm not quite sure that it's working as intended, the Express won't show up in the Aiport utility, only in the advanced setting of my wireless network (system preferences -> network). Is it supposed to show up in the Utility even though it's connected through my existing wireless network?
I have both and optical and a 'regular' (English is not my first language cable and I've tried both, but the speakers won't show up in iTunes. I've got iTunes looking for external speakers so that shouldn't be the problem.
    Any ideas?

Try setting-up AE as if for the first time (perform a hard-reset of the AE).
This time, however, DO NOT connect the AE to your router initially. Connect it directly to your computer via ethernet cable when setting-up. Airtunes should now be enabled (this will not happen if you initially set up AE with AE connected to your wireless router).

  • Itunes can't find purchased tv shows

I purchased some comedy central stand up episodes and it was playing fine on itunes and my ipod but now itunes can not find the files. I have not deleted the files and do not know where they are. I have looked in My Music/itunes/itunes music/tv shows/comedy central with no results. I have had this problem before with some music videos and had to purchase them again. Is there anything I can do to retrieve them without having to purchase them again?

Yes, funny, I had to restore my ipod, then it all downloaded. Just a quirk i guess. Thanks.

  • HT1351 I can't get my recently added songs to synch to my iPod gen 7. I also can't find Genius in the Store to turn it on. I am totally fed up with iTunes :(

Can't find Genius in the store to turn it on (have searched on Google for help!) Can't get my recently added to synch either. Should I be cross with Windows 8 or iTunes???

  • ITunes can't find apps on iPod Touch and doesn't sync album artwork

    Ugh.  Here I go again.
I have an iPod Touch (4th gen), 2010 MacBook Pro, all the latest operating systems and updates.
My iPod Touch crashed a bit and so I wanted to sync it again (using the USB cable, not wirelessly).
    (1) Suddenly, there was no music on the iPod Touch.  I managed to get that fixed.
    (2) After a couple of syncs, I was repeatedly getting the message that the iPod Touch apps "could not be synced because the apps could not be determined."  A couple of plugging and unpluggings allowed iTunes to "find" the apps, but this is weird.
    (3) And now, what's bugging me -- and this happened a year or so ago -- very little of the album artwork synced over to the iPod Touch.  I have 600-800 albums.  All of the artwork is correct on iTunes.  About 10% of the artwork transferred over to the iPod Touch.  (Then I synced my iPad, and all the artwork is correct on the iPad.)
If I remember correctly from last year, eventually -- after many successive syncs -- the album artwork made its way correctly over to the iPod Touch, and maybe I'll hope for that this time.
Does anyone have a more direct solution?  Checking and unchecking some boxes on some syncs?  (It takes a good chunk of time to sync over my music, so I don't really have to time to delete and sync repeatedly just as shots in the dark.
Any ideas?  All thoughts welcome. Thank you!

Taking off all the music and then putting it back on took care of the album art, but I'm still getting all kinds of funky behavior -- iTunes can't find the apps, then it can't find the iPod altogether, and it's adding duplicate songs somewhere.  It said it was going to load 3,232 songs, but I ended up with more than 3,400.  Weird.

  • Move all my music to another folder but Itunes can't find the files!

I have all my music on my desktop in small folders for each artist.
But now i don't have room anymore, because i have to much music.
So i want to move it all in to a folder called "Music". But when i do that
Itunes can't find the files, and i have to search for each file, to find the new location instead of the desktop. How do i move my music more easily? So i don't have to synchronize it all in again, with the right album covers and that..
    Please, need some help here!

You need to open your preferences file in iTunes and click on advance then select the location of where you put the folder.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

    is this possible?
    Yes.
Open iTunes on the computer you used to sync the iPod and select Preferences… from the iTunes menu.
Select the Devices pane. Position the cursor over any of its backups. The iPod's serial number will appear in a popup window.
