Added new attribute to WBS

Here is my current issue.
I added a "deleted indicator" to the WBS_ELEMT_ATTR on r/3, then created a new infoobject in BW (did not flag it w/master data) and added this new infoobject as a navigational attribute to the WBS_ELEMT infoobject in BW.
Went to the infosource for WBS_ELEMT and added it to the transfer structure and the comm. structure. Activated it. Then reloaded the master data for WBS from r/3. Went to "Maintain Master Data" for WBS_ELEMT and I can see the new field is populated correctly in the new field I added to WBS_ELEMT.
Then I went to the cube 0PS_C04 and marked the new attribute I added to WBS_EMEMT as a navigation attribute and re-activated it and the update rules.
The problem is in the query and when viewing data with list cube or cube contents the field is blank. But its not blank with maintain master data for WBS_ELEMT.
Does anyone have any clues as to my mistake or what I need to do. I'm needing to restrict a query based on 0PS_C04 by this new attribute I added to WBS.
Will reward points as always.
Richard

Hey Richard,
WBS_ELEMT is a navigational attribute in 0PS_C04 and "deleted indicator" is a navigational attribute of WBS_ELEMT. So, "deleted indicator" is a second level navigation attribute for 0PS_C04. This will not show you any data in the query even if you can see the data for this field in WBS_ELEMENT. One more thing is that in the update rules for 0PS_C04, you have mapped only WBS_ELEMENT but not "deleted indicator". Hence, the data is not displayed in the report.
You can handle this in 2 different ways.
1. Add "deleted indicator" to the cube directly and map it all the way down to the data source.
2. Add the "deleted indicator" to the cube and in the update rules, map it as an attribute of WBS_ELEMENT.
Unless it is mapped to the cube from the comm structure in the update rules, you can not see the data in the report.  Try one of these and let us know if it works.
Thanks and Regards

  • Bug in JDev 9.0.3.3: Adding new attributes

for me, it's seems to be a bug when:
    - you have an existing view object with attributes of two EOs
    - add new attributes from the EOs to the view object (in our case the column names are identical, JDev names them to TCN and TCN1 in the select-statement of the query)
    - update of the query of the view object doesn't properly work as well as attribute mapping shows that my new attributes are transient
    - removing all attributes from the view object and reassigning them again leads to a strange attribute mapping, i.e. now I have to set them again by manual.
Does anyone have the same experience with attribute removal and addtion of view objects?
    Regards,
    Stefan

    Stefan,
I tried to reproduce it with my 9.0.3.3 (Build 1205) installation but wasn't successful. Here's what I did:
    1. Create 2 entities
    2. Create one VO based on the two
    3. Run it
    4. Edit the VO and add an attribute from the second entity having the same name
    5. Run it
There must be something that you do differently from what I describe. Can you try to find ou what it is?

  • Adding New attributes to Business Partner Data

    Hi Experts,
I am new to SAP CRM. The requirement with me is that i have to add two attributes 'County' and 'Demographics' (both Text Fields) to the Business Partener Master. Is there some way to achieve this by configuration like by set types etc. or will i have to use workbench to add these fields. Please Help?
    Thanks.
    Rahul

    Hello Rahul,
I think the COUNTRY should already be present in the Business Partner master data. Please follow the steps below to find the BOL Structure of the BP Address data. In this structure all the address related data would be present. I hope the fields which you are looking should already be present in this structure.
    1) Run the txn GENIL_MODEL_BROWSER
    2) Give the component set as BP_APPL
    3) "BuilHeader" is the root object. Navigate to the relation "BuilStandardAddressRel" under the root object.
    4) The child object under this relation is "BuilStandardAddress". In the attribute structure, you will find the structure CRMST_ADDRESS_BUIL . This structure holds the data.
To check the values using this BOL model, follow the steps below
    1) Run the txn GENIL_BOL_BROWSER
    2) Give the component set at BP_APPL
    3) Go to the search object "'BuilHeaderAdvancedSearch'". Give the advanced search criteria and search.
    4) The result would be displayed and try navigating to the "BuilStandardAddress" child object as mentuioend in the steps above.
    Hope this helps.

  • Adding new attribute to Master data - Not present in ECC

    Hi,
We want to add a new field in the master data object 0plant. the new field is not present in the R/3 side. So we are planning to maintain it manually.
Is it feasible? Can someone explain how to approach the situation?
Since it is not going to come in Process chain or any of the mappings below InfoObject will the process chains work properly?
    Regards

    Hi
if you cant impliment any logic you cam maintani it mannually.
First add attribute to master data object and activate.
Do master data load if required.
Then right click on materdata addtribute and manage -> content tab -> Content
display complete data and you can maintain attribute values individually for all ercords one by one (will be pain even for 100 records).
another alternative is of doing file upload for this attribute.

    Hi,
You cannot add custom fields and do provision or recon for it.I have opened the SR with Oracle and this facility will be available in 9.1. which is launching after 4 months. You need to request the source code and modify it to get the custom fields.
    Thanks

    Hi BW Team
How was the symptom and how the Message no. RSDMD217 show?
If you have encounter the problem as mine: I added new attibutes to I/O 0MATERIAL and then tried to load the data to I/O 0MATERIAL again, it shows error message Message no. RSDMD217 and I cannot be able to see the data on new added attributes.
I checked on PSA and found some records didn't sound right such as on material code column is filled with text so I use T Code RSRV to check the consistency of the I/O. It shows an errors as
Characters are not allowed in characteristic values (characteristic 0MATERIAL).
So I click on Correct Error Tab and try to reload again. It works.

There is not much detail in your log, but I suspect that your OLAP mappings are incomplete or the maintenance of your dimension to load the new attribute data somehow failed. I would check the OLAP AWM build logs for more information.

  • Getting exception after adding new View attribute in OCO

    Hi,
I have added a new field in Oracle Customers Online -> Customers -> Accounts Summary page. I had changed the query in the VO and added the view attribute through JDeveloper and created the corresponding VORowImpl java class. I have referred the same View attribute in the page bean also. When i am doing the testing i am getting the exception. Any idea to resolve this issue. I have given the customization details below.
    Page bean: IMCAccountsSummaryEditPG.xml

                                            <oa:messageStyledText id="CreditHold" dataType="VARCHAR2" prompt="CreditHold" text="CreditHold" viewName="IMCCustAcoountsVO1" viewAttr="CreditHold" maximumLength="30" sortState="yes" shortDesc="Credit Hold"/>
    VO: IMCCustAcoountsVO.xml
Refer credit_hold in the query and CreditHold in the view attribute for the newly added column.

    Thanks in Advance
    Regards,
    Kesavan

First this is not the right way to do it. You should extend the VO and create a new vo and add the new attribute, then use personalization to add a new item, create substitution to represent the old VO with your new VO. Did you follow these steps to do the extension ?

  • Steps for adding a new attribute

Please let me know if the below steps are correct
    =================================================
I have an Infoobject called 0XXXX in BW and want to add another attribute called XXX_TYPE.
This infoobject is used in 2 Info Cubes and a Multiprovider. Also in 3 queries.
In R/3 the info I need is stored in a Table(XYZ). Please let me know if the below steps are correct and all I need
    1) Create a generic extractor to pull the data from XYZ table (Like an ABAP program) .. This is the part which I am not clear !!!
    2) Modify 0XXXX in BW to add this new navigational attribute
    3) Load Master data using process chain
    4) Re activate all update rules
    5) Change Infoprovider's for the new attribute (How to do that ??)
    6) Change query (What changes will I need to make .. Just select this attribute field into the required query)
    Please help

    Hello,
As you said, either enhance the extract structure by adding this new InfoObject and then write the code in the user-exit.
Or if the SAP table has the Key fields of the InfoObject, then create a generic extractor. Create a view by including the key fields of the InfoObject and the new attribute InfoOBject for which data has to be derived from this. Use this view or the table itself for the extractor.
Create new InfoSOurce for the InfoObject which will only update the new InfoObject. Keep only transfer rules for the Key InfoObjects and the new InfoObject.
    GSM.

  • New attribute added in BO, but not reflecting in WF container

    Hi Experts,
Purchase req overall release  workflow was using a z business object in my requirment, now i have needed some enhancements so i made some changes like i added few attributes in BO. then i did the delegation.
but the new attributes are not reflecting in Workflow container ?
what i suppose to do for make them reflect there?
    helpful answer will bw rewarded...
    Regards Dev..

    Hi,
We use Generate to make BO available for the runtime system. So only after generating the BO, runtime system will pick up the new changes. This is same like when we activate the report in SE38 transaction.
The system can only generate an object type if none of the superordinate object types contain errors. If these object types have not yet been generated, they are generated as well. When an object type is generated, all subtypes are generated as well provided they do not contain any errors.
    Thanks

  • JBO-27021 error when a new attribute is added

I am getting this error:"oracle.jbo.AttributeLoadException: JBO-27021: Failed to load custom data type value at index 14 with java object of type oracle.jbo.domain.Raw due to java.sql.SQLException."
I added a new attribute "violation_guid" to sql query in VO
    Query:
    select rule_name, target_name, severity, recommendation, target_type, ROOT_CS_GUID,
    event_instance_id,
    event_seq_id, keywords, lifecycle_status , target_guid, rule_name_nlsid, recommendation_nlsid, violation_guid
    from
    table(EM_COMPLIANCE_EVAL.get_cs_viols(:rootCsGuid, :targetName, :targetType, :plang, :pcountry))
Before addition of the attribute, things were working fine.
I also checked the attribute order is correct in attribute list. AFAIK, violation_guid should come in the same position as defined in VO query.
Its in 14th position both according to query and attribute list.
I did "Set source order" in the Attributes section of VO. I also regenerated the java classes related to the VO but no luck.
What else do need to do?
    Thanks

  • Adding new Condition Rule attribute for "ICRULE-Intent Driven Interaction"

    Hi Experts,
I want to add a Z attribute for context "ICRULE- Intent Driven Interaction".
Under SPRO path Customer Relationship Management->E-Mail Response Management System->Define Repository
I define new Condition Attribute Z_BP_NUMBER with is the copy of BP_NUMBER Attribute.
    1. if i define a Rule to trigger the Alert with Condition Attribute BP_NUMBER is XYZ. then Alert gets Triggered.
    2. if i define a Rule to trigger the Alert with Condition Attribute  Z_BP_NUMBER is XYZ. then Alert is not Triggered.
After defining Condition Attribute Z_BP_NUMBER at Define Repository (spro) do i need to include at any other placel?
Please help me with your valuable input.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vimal

    Hello Vimal,
Yes, you also need to create your own data collector class and fact gathering service to use your new attribute!  If you have a subscription to CRM Expert, you can read this detailed article that I co-wrote on using your own custom attributes: http://www.crmexpertonline.com/article.cfm?id=5475.

  • Error while adding a attribute to the the Custom view through a wizard

    Hi ,
I have created a new custom view with value node through wizard  succesfully.
Now I want to add a new attribute to that node.I am trying to do that by a wizard.
But i am getting the follwing error " Error during analysis of Source Code" although i have
commented or removed my all custom code from that view.
I tried adding the new aattributes in the metthods "IF_BSP_MODEL~INIT " and
"GET_TABLE_LINE_SAMPLE " manually but that also does not worked.
Plz help me with this asap.
    Regards,
    Sharad

    Hi Sharad,
I hope all your classes are active. In case you want to add a new attribute there are two steps.
1.Right click on context node and create attribute, it opens a wizard and continue. This will add the field in the context node and generate the getter-setter methods.
    2. In the above two method whcih you mentioned add the new field in the structure of value node. And then create your own getter-setter methods. and activate it. After this you will be able to see the attribute added in the context node.
By using any of the two approaches you will be able to see teh new field in the configuration.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Ruby.

  • Error when adding an attribute to a redifined entity

    Dear Gateway experts,
    I have the following problem:
In the service builder I have successfully created and activated an OData Service with several entities. Now I have created a second service and have redefined one of the entities of the first service. Finally I have added one attribute to this entity in the second service. Also this service could be generated succesfully. But when calling the service I get the error message "Property [NEW ATTRIBUT] of data object [ENTITY] has no Internal type assigned."
In the MPC class of the second service I see, that the structure belonging to the entity has been updated with this new attribute.
But the exporting parameter ET_ENTITYSET of the DPC class refer to the structure definition of the MPC class of the first service (because the inherite from them) without the new attribute.
So my problem is now, hoc can I add an attribute to a redfined entity without getting this error and be able to fill the export table?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Regards,
    Juergen

    Hi Ron,
    thanks for your quick reply!
The entity of the original service is structure based. But the new attribute in the redefined service is not part of this structure. However I have added it manually and also filled the corresponding ABAP type in the column "ABAP Field Names".
The method DEFINE_<ENTITY> is only available in the MPC class of the original service. And this method is private so I can't call it from the subclasses.
In the MPC class of the redefined service there is a private method CREATE_NEW_ARTIFACTS, which is called in the method DEFINE. In this method the new attribute is already added to the entity, in the same way the other attributes were added in the DEFINE_<ENTITY> method:
    lo_entity_type = model->get_entity_type(
         iv_entity_name = '<entity>' ).
    lo_property = lo_entity_type->create_property(
         iv_property_name  ='<attribute>'
         iv_abap_fieldname = '<ATTRIBUTE in ABAP>' ).
    lo_property->set_type_edm_string( ).
So I am not sure, what else to add in these methods.

  • Transport error while adding new Navigational Attr to InfoCube on BIA

    Hi Gurus,
I have added a new field in the Profit Center Master data(0PROFIT_CTR_ATTR) in R/3 and the changes seem to be working fine in BW. This 0PROFIT_CTR is present in one of the InfoCubes that we have on the BIA. I have turned 'ON' the newly added Navigational Attribute in the InfoCube and have saved the changes. Now when I try to transport these changes to the QA for testing, the transport is getting cancelled with the message 'NOT CORRECT USAGE' in rsddtrex.
I am wondering if this is because I have added and turned'ON' a new Navigational attribute in the InfoCube under the BIA.Maybe the BIA index and the the InfoCube structure do not match because of this newly added Nav Attr in the InfoCube?
Do you have any suggestions on this. I was under the impresiion that even if this was the case, the transports should succeed and only the rollup to the BIA process should fail in the BIA rather than the transports to QA.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Arvind

    Hi.
Did you check if note 1223284 was applied in yor system ?
1223284 - BIA index set to inactive 'A' after InfoCube activation.
    Thanks,
    Walter Oliveira.
