Added songs last night; gone today

I just installed a new hard drive so I had to start all over with iTunes (I screwed up -- didn't back up library). Yesterday, I installed existed iTunes software, immediately upgraded to 6.0 and threw on two CDs into Library. I then put them on my shuffle. Today, I fired up iTunes and all the songs are gone (although they are still on my shuffle).
And, when I plug in my shuffle, it says the shuffle is connected to another music library (probably thinking it was my old hard drive, although it let me transfer songs last night).
I didn't upgrade or add anything. Any idea what happened? The CDs/songs don't seem to be on my computer anywhere. I did a file search.

I added lots of items to my iTunes wish list using my AppleTV last night but today when I went to check my wish list using iTunes on my desktop it is empty - does anyone know any reason why this might happen?

The older version of iTunes does not read the wish list from AppleTV, 11.1.4 finally supports wish list. I'm trying now to find out if here if I have to upgrade my firmware for iTunes to see it.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Many still use unsupported ealier versions, and there is no real need to upgrade unless there is a real need.
Unless you have done something like installing new fonts or made other changes, it may be releavnt to look at the following list.

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

My iPad 3 started deleting songs last night when ever we went to play them. Please help.

Last night I had difficulty syncing my iPad to my laptop. I had purchased some new music on my laptop and wanted to pull them over to my iPad for listening.
I couldn't ever get it to start Step 5 of 5 - just kept spinning.
I gave up and we just went to play some other other music from the iPad and whenever we hit a selection it automatically deleted the whole album - one song at a time. Some other characteristics I noticed... There were small red square blocks on the right side of the song list (one at each song by the song's time length - ex. + 4:32 with the + being the red box) I've never seen these little red boxes before. Once they appeared I soon learned that my song would disappear quickly after. I stopped trying to play music after the third attempt (meaning 3rd album mysteriously deleting song-by-song in front of our eyes).
What in the world is going on?
I'm ready to be embarrassed and discover I've done something to cause this - I'm even okay with providing laughter to others at my silly, iPad ignorant actions. I just want my music world to stop leaving me.

I purchased songs last night but I can't find them!??

I apologize if the answer to this question is somewhere in here but I browsed quickly and couldn't find it. (Kind of in a hurry!) I bought about 20 songs on Itunes and I can't find them in my library or anywhere in my acct! I clicked "Check for Downloads" and it said there were no new downloads. I tried purchasing one of the 20 songs again to see if it would tell me that I had already purchased and it did.... so the songs are somewhere! Can someone help or tell me where to look??!!

My bookmarks seem to have disappeared between when I shut down Firefox last night and today - and when I go to restore to a previous date, I get "unable to process the backup file" How do I fix this?

Opened Firefox - all bookmarks gone, nothing in history. Nothing backed up. As I attempt to restore, none of my restore points can be accessed, I get error message that says: "unable to process backup file" What has happened? Everything worked fine yesterday - and I have performed no updates.

It's actually quite simple to restore your lost information. Hover your Firefox Menu Tab and click the Bookmarks Menu. The little box will pop up. Click on Import and Backup ... the second option down is "restore" . Hit that and it should give you a list of dates that Firefox auto-saves your bookmarks. Just pick a date and apply. If this doesn't help. You may have to revert to an earlier version or check your addons.

I have been tring to get on FaceTime, all day. I have changed my password, and I still can not get in. I was on it last night, and today, it says to check modem. The internet is working and I still can not get in.

I am trying to use FaceTime, a lady, and it does not work. It worked, last nite.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Repos extra slow on last night and today?

Just wondering if I have a deeper problem or if everyone else is experiencing this. Things are retrieving at like 16 KB/s Yes, kilobytes. Internet with browser seems to be running at 300 MB/s
I see the post on changing the mirror, but being somewhat new, I can't seem to figure out where the file "core" is to change the server.

this question has been asked before and the answer remains the same.
ftp.archlinux.org is there for anyone who installs Arch linux the first time around. It is meant to be first in the list, that way there is always a RELIABLE server to install from and get updates from. As a new user you are not expected to know what mirror to use, some mirrors may even be out of date and cause issues to new users. Not what Arch needs.
That being said, as a Arch user, you are supposed to configure your machine the way you want too. That includes editing the mirrorlist to select YOUR prefered mirror.

Ipod touch 5 won't charge. It charged last night and today nothing. It's less than a month old
