Addictional content empty window in 10.1

hello everyone, i just made a new clean installation of logic x on the new 10.1 version. Didn't text all the functionality yet but i immediately start with this problem: when i try to download addictional content the window is empty (black), doesn't show any of the extra content, i try several restart, different internet connections, but nothing solved my problem, i've also check the firewall and there's no limitations for incoming connection in logic, please help me

So you mean you don't have any "extras" at all (the sounds and stuff that came along the previous version)? That is of course not good.
For me, I'm only missing the Mellotron as far as I can tell, and I have everything I had before updating, so it's not a big deal. I have a vague memory of the additional downloads not working for some people during a previous Logic X update, and that it was fixed within a day or two. I'm confident there will be a fix soon.
I guess this is why a lot of pros, who depend on the software on a daily basis, shy away from first-day-upgrades. That's wise I guess, but I like living on the edge...

External edit with PSE 12? I get an empty window.

I am running Aperture 3.5.1 in current version of Mavericks on a MAcBook Pro. I am trying to use PSE 12 as an external editor to resize, merge and some other stuff I want to do prior to printing on an Epson 3880.
When I try to send a file to PSE by Photos>Edit with PSE 12, an empty window opens in PSE. There is nothing in the Photo Bin.
What am I doing wrong or is this not possible to do without exporting a TIFF to my desktop, etc.?
FYI, I am checking PSE out with their 30 day demo version, if this makes any difference.

Thanks for your suggestions, but, again as with Kirby's comments, my settings are exactly as you have suggested. I did confirm that my files were editable in Aperture.
Just to make sure: When you have a file open in Aperture and you choose "Edit with PSE 12", does that file open in a PSE window? (I get a PSE window but with no content.)
I'm going to see if I can get any info from Adobe.

I just realized I am selecting an alias for PSE and I haven't confirmed that, as you suggest in another posting, that I haven't dived deep enough.

Webstart just shows empty window(s) on a WinXP PC

A friend of mine upgraded to Java 1.5 (_03) JRE on his WinXP (with current generation ATI graphics card).
Normal Java apps work (executable JARs), but he can't use Webstart:
When he starts Webstart (via the Windows' Start menu or manually with the javaws.exe) the "Java loading" banner appears as usual, then the main window opens ... but it's just empty. An empty window.
Same effect when he wants to start Webstart apps from the Internet.
How to trace what's going on?
Are there any logfiles or any switches I could tell him to see what's going on?

jr2re-1_4_2_05-windows-i586-p.exe on my new PC. I've reinstalled the JRE twice and rebooted. When I start Java Web Start, I get 2 empty window frames with grey background, one for Java Web Start Application Manager and one for Java Web Start Console. If I minimize the Java Web Start Manger's window frame, and then restore it, it restores looking like its supposed to....but the menu doesn't work and the cursor doesn't change. If I drag something over the frame on the desktop, and then uncover it again....the frame contents don't update....grey screen again. I minimize and restore again to what else isn't working: I was able to hit "Start" button which brings up a frame for the "Draw 4 App" application frame, and its also blank. I minimize it and restore it...same thing. It restores visually but nothing works right. I've seen similar java graphics updating issues before in Windows but not this bad.
Brand new Pentium4 hyper-threaded 3.2 gig PC, an HP Pavilion,
Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 2. . I also have a new LCD, a Dell 24" 2405FPW lcd, and a new ATI X600 256 graphics card. I have the newest drivers for my graphics card.
I desperately need to get this fixed, as I work primarily from home as a programmer for Fedex using Java and Web Start! If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated!

Whenever I Launch firefox it opens dozens of empty windows... WHY???

Ever since I installed Firefox 4, every time I launch it (open it) it opens dozens of empty windows... 20 or 30.
I don't need to say how frustrating this is and how it pisses me off... It also doesn't open the recent tabs I had opened even though I marked that in the options.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I used to love Firefox but now it is simply slow and take so many resources from my PC.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

I, too, have found Bridge very unstable. I find this to be extremely disappointing, seeing as it's literally the most expensive piece of software I've ever purchased for personal use. I've seen these two symptoms:
1. When running in full screen mode, Bridge crashes periodically. This happened on Vista, so I blamed Vista (of course), but even after regressing to XP SP2, I see the same symptoms.
2. Although I didn't see this on Vista, running on XP I see the problem described earlier in this thread, where clicking on a thumbnail displays the wrong image preview. When this happens the image displayed is one from a different folder! I solve the problem by clearing the cache, and it's OK for a while, but the problem keeps returning.
3. Even when exiting cleanly from Bridge (using File->Exit), Bridge often forgets where I was working in my previous session. I need to re-navigate from the very top level directory down through the hierarchy to my photo directory.
Again, it's very disappointing to invest so much in a single software package only to see such basic operations malfunction.

Generating PDF in Web-Dynpro   - empty window popup

   I notice that in FM Y_GLXX_WD_JAVA_PDF has calls CONVERT_OTF. It returns different value bin_file in 4.6 & ecc6. In Ecc6 there wasnt return PDF header %PDF 1.3 - ......... but 4.6 had returns. It cause the portal site will prompt out empty windows instead of prompt out PDF screen.
Any ideas, which FM should i use to replace CONVERT_OTF or other solutions??

For your information, i am currrently developing in Webdynpro Java. But, i don't think that is the case because the Java code will convert the Binary String to Bytes. The problem is why the BAPI returning different BIN_FILE values from two different system (ECC6.0 & 4.6C)?
After the execution, the BAPI will return the PDF value as String

IPhoto broken - Empty window when I open the application - Help needed

Hi Guys,
Since my upgrade to Snow Leopard my iPhoto 09 has been completely broken. What I get when I start it up is an empty window. No pictures on the right pane and no menus on the left pane. I read many threads about iPhoto issues, and so I have tried to rebuild the library, reinstall iPhoto from the disk I got with my mac. Still the same problem: On startup, iPhoto opens with a completely blank window. All I have are the three buttons at the bottom left side of the window (+, info and enlarge). Only if I click "+" to add a new album the menus on the left pane (events, photos...) appear. A few clicks on these menus and iPhoto crashes. All this, done with a new, clean library. I moved the old one, and keep it for the day I'll get iPhoto to work again. Hope you guys can help. This is painfully frustrating.

I am using Suitcase Fusion 2 and just activitating Helvetica Neue in Suitcase seemed to fix this problem I have had for several months.
I highly recommend doing the activation in Suitcase instead of just droping it into the System Fonts folder. This will allow for Suitcase to activate or deactivate the font. If you put the font into one of your folders, Suitcase can not deactivate, which might be necessary if your job uses a different version of Helvetica Neue.

Look for these two files.
AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
AdobePDFViewer.plugin
Right click on those and select “Move To Trash”.
Restart the computer.

Flash content in Windows Media Player

Can Flash Content play in the Windows Media Player? I don't see it as a supported file type but found this on the Microsoft site:

I looked up the internet but can't find anything on this. As no replies here too I guess I'm the only one. The other thing that struck me is the enormous CPU usage when playing flash in the browser. Up to 95%-100% cpu usage when playing HD flash content. First I assumed it was a Flash issue but Internet Explorer never used more then 35%-55%. I then assumed it was just Flash in Safari. Strange thing is, if I maximize the window the cpu load actually drops to 55%. I only get high cpu usage when flash is played in the Safari window. I guess that means it's something to do with the browser and not an isolated flash 'bug'.
Also still no luck playing WMV in the browser itself. Maybe time to look for yet another browser. A shame as I like the Safari browser a lot. MobileMe and iPhone are great to sync bookmarks and the look and feel is great. The engine is not so good unfortunately.

Clear search results from Content Services Windows Crawl 6.1

We have ALI Content Services Windows Files 6.1 with a crawl job on a network location. It works fine. Now we have changed the location - directory structure. The job, modified with the new location works fine, however, we still see search results from the old location also. Since those documents no longer exist, clicking on the link causes an error. How do we clear the search results?

Creative Cloud won't work after starting – just shows an empty window.

Hello there!
I just have downloaded the Creative Cloud desktop software to install a trial version of InDesign CC. Sadly, all I get after starting the Creative Cloud, is an empty window with the black menu bar on top. That's all.
I have tried to re-install it, to update Adobe Air et cetera. Nothing works for me.
My system runs on Win7 64bit.

I encountered the difficulties with Mavericks and Dreamweaver running so slowly that the program almost unusable.
I tried all sorts of work-arounds, such as installing a clean Maverick system on a newly formatted disk. Then a minimal install of Adobe CC, and nothing else. It made no difference whatsoever!
Then, I was advised that uninstalling Adobe Air, which seems to cause all sorts of problems, would resolve the issue - which it did!!! Unfortunately, if you are using programs that depend upon Adobe Air, such as Muse, they will not work until Adobe Air is reinstalled.
Adobe have their head buried in the sand, and are offering no solutions, or responses to this matter.
Frankly, I cannot see any advantage of paying for a subscription for Adobe CC, when Adobe CS6 offers virtually the same functionality at no additional cost!

Empty window on executing SQL Developer

I have downloaded the latest SQL Developer, and version 1.5.0 rel 10 of the JDK. When I execute SQL Developer, I get the splash screen with its progress bar, and then an empty window. No menu's - nothing. I do get a message on my console window ...

CC icon produces empty window

I don't know what to make of this empty window. I got a notice that there were upgrades down near the Hidden Icon tray but when I click the CC icon I get this empty window.
I'm subscribed and as far as I know CC is installed and running; I have been using PsCC, Lr and PrE.
What should I be seeing when I click the CC icon?

Can't see Zen Mozaic content in Windows Explorer

After installing Creative Centrale, I updated my Mozaic firmware to the 64 bit 7 OS. Now, I can no longer see all my Zen Mozaic content in Windows Explorer.
All the songs and playlists are still on the Mozaic, but I only see about 15 songs of the approximately 1000 songs on the Mozaic using Explorer.
Restored my computer to earlier date, and results are same. Have 64bit 7 OS.
I plugged my wife's Zen Mozaic into the same computer and all the songs are visible through Windows explorer.

Welcome to Creative forums!
Try cleaning up your player. Run the recovery mode (refer to my post here on how to boot from the recovery mode, #25 for plain Mozaic and #26 for Mozaic EZ series) and select CleanUp->Reboot. See if that helps.

Empty window in mail.app on new iMac

I have a new iMac, which came with Lion. I am now using system version 10.7.3.
Everything (as far as I can tell) transferred correctly from my previous computer, by way of Time Machine.
Except that Mail does not work at all. I spent a lot of time with Apple tech support, to no avail.
Here are the symptoms:
Mail does not show ANY messages or mailboxes -- just a grey, completely empty window -- not even empty folders -- not one folder, not one smart folder, not one message -- everything in the View menu is greyed out
I can get all the windows to show up except the main one
if I select "New Viewer Window" in the file menu, Mail crashes and I have to force quit
if I select "Message Viewer" in the Window menu, I get the empty grey window.
The first tech support person said everything would work when it was finish indexing. Of course that was not true.
The second had me delete and reinstall the accounts. Then the program spent a lot of time apparently syncing the IMAP accounts, but still nothing in the window.
The third person disappeared as soon as I told her what the problem was.
And now I just tried to get help from a fourth person, but no one is available... so here I am.
Any ideas?

I dreaded having to spend any more hours with clueless tech support people. So I spent what ended up being maybe 30 minutes searching this site for ideas. I tried many things which didn't work, but the answer turned out to be to go to Library/Mail, and move the V2 folder out of there. Then I launched Mail, and got an actual window!
Then I clicked on the zigzag icon next to "Inbox", and that triggered the download of all the messages from MobileMe. Then I turned on "Mail Rules, Signatures, and Smart Mailboxes" from System Preferences/MobileMe/Sync, and clicked Sync Now. That got me back my smart mailboxes.
Whew! Problem solved.
