Adding a BC web form to a Muse site

Hi, trying to add a simple web form to a Muse website.
Found the tool in 'Site Manager' OK.  Created a web form OK.
When I go to add it to a web page the preview window looks really odd.  Loads of coding floating about and when I go to click into the page to add the form, can't seem to see a blinking cursor.
The 'Customise web form' panel doesn't seem to display any changes made to the web form layout.
Also having issues updating the form too.
Appreciate the above is a bit vague.  here's the url: http://www.gt-consulting.org/group-booking-form.html
Screen shot of web form panel attached.  Any pointers, gratefully received.

You cannot just copy a form from someone else and expect it to work on your own site - it doesn't work like that.
If you want a contact form, then you need to go and open your own account and create your own form for yourself and then copy and paste the resultant code that you get into an html snippet on your own site.
Go to Google and sign up for your own account and then create your own form. When you have done this, you will be given an embed code and this is what you copy and paste into an html snippet on your own site and click Apply and then publish.
You can't just go around copying from other peoples sites. Do it for yourself.

    As Jon said, for PHP scripts to work, your server needs to support PHP.  Many Windows servers do not.
    See screenshot from Manage Sites below.  Note the root directory.  Also under More Options triangle, toggle the Passive FTP option on.

  • Help with Business Catalyst Web forms and Adobe Muse.

    I created a websform to log into a secure zone using business catalyst. I pasted the webform's html into Adobe Muse. After publishing my site. The websform I created in business catalyst is deleted, but I can see all of the forms that I created using Muse in the webform section. Is there a fix for this problem? Thanks
    This is the page with the forms. http://www.highestgoodclothing.com/login.html

    There is a workaround. It takes a little more work, but it is definitely worth it and will solve your problem. I subscribed and learned from tutorials on the www(.)trainsimple(.)com. They have a video series called "Muse CC Business Catalyst Integration" which was very helpful. The issue that everyone on here is referring to is covered in the 3 videos labelled, "Email Sign Up Checkbox", "Moving Muse Webforms to Business Catalyst" and "Email Marketing".
    Essentially, what you want to do is create a form in Business Catalyst, turn that form into a module, assign a tag to that module, then put the tag into Muse using Object > Insert HTML. This will solve Muse deleting the web forms everytime.

  • Why does my contact form on my Muse site not work?

    Hi,
    I have used Muse to design a website for a client without BC but the contact form doesn't work. I thought that Muse now has enabled this fueture for non BC users. I have ensured that the host has the PHP settings of 5.3 or higher and that Curl extentions and PHP sessions are enabled. However this was not originally the case and I was hoping that I had found the reason for this problem. What else do I have to do? I am not very good at coding. Your help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you P_nath,
    I have followed the instruction on your document but I have still not solved this issue completely. The php check link shows that their is an isuue with the SQL configuration. The other two are green. When I change the receiving email address on my Muse contact form to my own yahoo email account it does come through properly, but when I put my clients email address it goes through as code (she uses Outlook Vista). I really want to sort this issue out without having to export this site as html because I am not good with coding. Does anyone know what is going on and how to make this form compatible with all email providers?

  • Muse and BC web forms deleted

    I had a lot of trouble with this. I got some good assistance from Adobe. Create the form in the BC admin. Place it on a test page. Go to it as a user and fill it out and submit successfully.
    Now, in muse... use the "insert html" feature to place the tag to the form. I also found that it is good to go ahead and place the css file above the form tag for that form.
    So best if you customize it in dreamweaver or some editor, testing it on the "test" page you are using to submit it with an embeded as opposed to attached style sheet.
    So you can place the css and the form tag or the customized code, or a content holder with the customized code and the css in it. But for it to not Get over written; it has to have been placed on a page, and then from the front end as a user, go through it and submit so that the form will "stick". This is especially frustrating if you have not found this out and you have a live client site that is collecting money and every time you make a change for them on the fly; the form gets wiped out and sales stop when it is a seasonal deal and time is of the essence so I really appreciated the personal phone call I got over the Thanksgiving holidays from a person on Adobe technial support. If only it could have been explained so simply ahead of time and not taken all the escalations and wwaiting form answers. This made me look terrible to a client and it made BC look laughable. But, it won't happen again. You can delete the test page later or uncheck enabled in the admin online of BC.
    Depending how long your form is, in Muse, make your site's bottom of page bottom stretchy verticly.
    Also, if you are designing some snazzy form (as in my opinion we should be able to much easier in traditional html5 and css3 for BC)... You'll have to look at the css and convert those values over to the css of the BC form. Let me know if you find a better way but for sure Muse is capable of doing some sweet forms. The best I've ever seen. Just hard to work with form complex, custom forms.
    I at one time thought about designing the style of the form in muse, getting the css and fiuring out a good way to apply that to the custom BC forms I needed to make that were more complicated than "contact".
    I'd love to see a step by step on that "Anyone"...
    I'll up load a movie of a site where I did this that was just for a New Year's Eve Party so the site is down.
    Also enourmous, (I can't thank him enough) props to Randel Guilbro. He's an old friend and stepped in to help me re-build the forms every time they broke before the issue.
    See and example of mixed muse forms with the few forms from e-commerce that were originally getting overwritten here. ----> http://youtu.be/EJKNS_6-LHA

  • Business Catalyst thinks I deleted my web form

    I thought I may have found a way around Muse's weak forms implementation, by creating a web form on Business Catalyst > Site Manager > Web Forms.
    I created a web form, set the email response, copied the html, inserted the HTML on a Muse page, published the site, filled out the form, and got this:
    So I went back to the same page on Business Catalyst, deleted the web form I just made minutes ago, created it AGAIN from scratch, inserted the HTML in my Muse page, published it, filled out the form, and got the SAME ERROR message a second time.
    I did not delete the form, but Business Catalyst thinks I did.  :-(
    How do I get around this "error of an ERROR?"
    I noticed that there are THREE forms on BC with similar names (I only made ONE). To be sure that I'm working in the correct form, I COPIED it -- it now has the same name as before, plus the word "Copy." But when I open the copied form, all the fields are in the wrong order. I tried this several times, and this weirdness is consistent. Right now I'm really stumped on getting a decent (customized) form in Muse.
    Thanks for any help.

    Thank you, Vikas. That was the trick.  :+)
    I still don't understand what "submit a case" means, but I was able to get it to work, possibly not as you expected (?)
    I had already published this site in its partially-developed state, when trying to get the form to also be published. So it was in the web page already, as the completed form.
    All I did after reading your message was to go directly to businesscatalyst.com, create a new simple (unfinished) form, and then via Site Manager > Web Forms > More Actions > Add Web Form to a Web Page, choosing the contact page from my site in development.
    When I opened the previously-uploaded site in my browser, the ENTIRE form was there as originally published, exactly as it was originally and formatted placed in Muse.
    It works, but I confess it's about as UN-intuitive as it can be!  :+)
    Thanks again.

  • Web Forms Number Field - Not processing decimals!

    We have created a monster web form on a clients site. As it is, we have had to setup an API to deal with the data after its been generated by BC and modify it before sending it on to the client. The client saw no reason for fields that did not have anything entered against them to be sent through in the workflow notification - and I agreed.
    Now after all these other problems have been resolved, I discover that all my  "number" fields cannot process a decimal place, and they round up or down. BC have suggested I need to recreate the form and just make them all 'text strings'.
    Not good enough. Its an EPIC form with over 100 fields in it. We, in good faith, read the instructions that can be found here: http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/478/bc_478.html?bc-partner
    that state "Number - a text box that must have a number entered into it". No note about NOT using decimals!
    The confusing thing is, it lets you enter the decimal from the front end, even displays the web form confirmation page correctly with decimals. But when it creates a case in BC, it rounds the numbers. So its only at this late testing stage that we have discovered the issue
    Does anyone have any ideas about faster ways of re-creating this entire form ?
    I did submit a support ticket, and was told to switch to the old UI and then just change the type of the fields. But when we try to change a form field from 'number' to 'string' it brings up the message "WARNING: Field updated successfully but type not changed as field has associated values.". Then they said to:
    Copy that specific webform change the type fields of the form and then remove the old webform and re-name this one copy with the first webform name. The copy option is available under the link I have provided to you.
    However this still means we need to change *all* the fields and then get every field' s ID and insert it into the javascript. Very very time consuming
    So A) everyone else be warned and B) Does anyone have a shortcut?
    Thanks!!

    Thanks for confirming my fears
    Its a shame that since its such a long standing thing, it hasnt actually been added to the knowledgebase... which when we started this project (long before this schmozzle of a new system was introduced) was the most relevant place to look.  When I start something, I tend to look in the KB.... not think "oh perhaps I should check the FAQ's in case there is a long standing issue that isnt contained in the KB".

  • Adding animated html 5 und js from flash into an existing muse site

    Hi Guys,
    i have a problem adding an animated flash content to a muse site.
    I have done an animation in flash und published it as a html 5 and a js file. fine!
    The next step i do is placing/or importing the html in muse.
    but how to put the js within a script tag, and the image i used in flash into my muse site?
    1. issue: when i combine both scripts (html and js in one script) it does not work/the animation does not work.
    2. issue: when i add the js into the page properties html head section it also doesnt work..
    so where is the problem? or how can i insert the js correctly? should i also upload the image file? where to upload the image file?
    I need this for an ongoing project!
    Thanks

    This is a reply to my own message. A work around that will allow our team to move forward is to make a screen capture of a screen capture. We have content experts who are equipped with Camtasia. These folks will make their narrated movies. I'll then capture their movies with Captivate's screen capture by following: Insert > Recording Slide. Google Chrome of course has the Flash player installed by default so I open the mp4 (M4V) or FLV movie via Chrome and use Captivate's Recording Slide, choose Video Demo option. This gets me a Camtasia screen capture into Captivate. Import audio on its own and it matches up with my test of a movie 1 minute long (longer videos might slip out of sync - will test this).
    However, the movie does not have the convenient playbar attached, so video navigation/control can be gained via a Captivate playbar for the slide itself. This offers a double set of navigation options b/c I also created my own set of navigation controls with Flash, but with a simple set of instructions users will know to use bottom playbar for video control and my flash buttons for slide navigation. Its a bit clunky, but this is what I have for now until the engineers have time to target the following:

    PS I'm sure a simple javascript code could fix this, but for me javascript isn't so easy;)

  • Something keeps deleting my web form when I publish from Muse

    I'm developing a site in Muse.
    I create a web form in BC and generate HTML which I copy and paste into an HTML block in Muse. Everything seems fine. I publish the page and when I submit the form I get redirected to a page that says, in red letters, "You have deleted your web form, you must re-create the form in BC," or something to that effect. Sure enough, I go into BC and the web form has disappeared.
    Why would this be? I've recreated it several times, and same result every time. I also tried publishing it as a Module link, and the same thing happened.

    Hi,
    take a look to this thread, Re: Muse and BC web forms deleted

  • Muse/BC Bug: Secure page web form in BC gets deleted everytime I publish

    I have a secure page signup form that I have placed using a content holder in BC and inserted in Muse. Every time I make correction in Muse and republish, the webform is deleted from the list webform at the BC side. This is the error I got when I tested the signup form:
    ERROR:  You have deleted your web form. Please login to the Admin panel of your website and remove the previously submitted form from the web page you last visited.  You will need to recreate this web form by going to Modules -> Webforms.  After recreating simply insert this new web form into the web page and your web form should work properly.

    I have followed these steps and still continue to get the following error message:
    ERROR: You have deleted your web form. Please login to the Admin panel of your website and remove the previously submitted form from the web page you last visited. You will need to recreate this web form by going to Modules -> Webforms. After recreating simply insert this new web form into the web page and your web form should work properly.
    When I published the BC form on a page and submitted it, I got the following message:
    Credit Card Payment Failed
    There was an error processing your credit card. Please correct this and try again.
    ERROR: An error occurred while processing credit card
    Non-seamless gateway with no shopping cart not supported. Error
    Please go back and correct this.
    Any suggestions?

  • Adding Controls dynamically in the Infopath/Web form with dynamic controls

    Hello,
    The client requirement is to create SharePoint solution for the below image. A web form/Info-path form will be created where user can enter the details and data will be submitted. I am looking for a solution to implement the requirements in SharePoint .
    if not possible then using customizations and SQL server.
    User can enter the Title , Overview in the form , which we can make Single line and multiple line of Text. The problem is with third , fourth and fifth fields.
    1) In third field , i.e. Qualification Summary , User can add/delete , dynamic text boxes..This can be achieved I think using repeating tables/sections in Infopath...How data will be saved in SharePoint columns as it is not fixed that how many
    columns user can enter , how columns(static) will be created in the list ??
    2) For fourth field , user will select one or many Project description title n descriptions which are there in the system..User will not write anything just select..But how many project descriptions they can select , again its not fixed..How
    we can manage it in SharePoint List OR any custom solution  ?
    3) For fifth field , user will select one or many Awards which are there in the system.User will not write anything just select..But how many awards they can select , again its not fixed..How we can manage it in SharePoint List OR any custom
    solution  ?
    Vipul Jain

    >Lets say , the data for user selection is stored in two separate lists
    secondary data connection is only for one list so you can get data from only single list by creating list connection. Later you can drag & drop that connection as repeating table or bind with any control so display in form. If you have mulitiple list
    then you may use lookup column or would need to create two seperate data connection.
    >Do you think its a right approach ?
    multi selection listbox is helpful if requirement is select multiple records or filter records. You can almost achieve most of the requirement but still depends on business need. Ofcource some limitation is also there.
    >I'm planning to propose a custom .net form
    Of course custom form is always better than OOTB in some cases but i always prefer OOTB solution if my requirement is being achieved by it.

  • Is it possible to print web form data once it is added to the CRM cases.

    I have a client who needs to have volunteers fill out a one page activity report. I can create the a Web form to acquire the data. The data will then be stored in the CRM as a case. What I am having trouble with, is how to easily track the cases and,  more importantly, print them out  individually in a readable format. Is this possible?

    Hi,
    The only option is to create a customer/case report which will output the data in a spreadsheet.  Then you can pull the individual records accordingly and print.
    I do not see any other workaround to this at this stage.
    Kind regards,

  • Web App Items added to Web Form on submission

    I have a site that allows users to search for and borrow items. All items are in a web app. The idea is that when the user searches items, they can add them to a "Borrow List" and once finished they submit a Web Form that contains a list of their items. It should work in a similar manner to a shopping cart, but there is no payment associated.
    How can I get my web app items to feed into a contact form in this way???

    Hi Peta,
    The only way I can see this done in is to add the web app items to a cookie using JS and then when they go to web form to populate the hidden form field with the values from that cookie. That's the only way to do it unless you want to use the shopping cart functionality.

  • BC Web Form check boxes running into text

    How to fix alignment of BC web form.
    check boxes running into text.
    see screen shot

    Anything that looks bad on a website can be fixed by CSS? The best bet for you is to edit the markup of that form with the checkboxes and add a class to those checkbox input elements... for instance a class of "form-checkbox" and then in your CSS file, include this CSS code:
    .form-checkbox { margin-right: 5px; }
    or even:
    .form-checkbox { margin-right: 1em; }
    That will put a margin to the right of your checkbox input elements either 5px wide or 1em wide (which is essentially one length of your font size).
    If you don't know how to add/edit html markup to your form then you could try adding this CSS to your CSS file:
    form input[type='checkbox'] { margin-right: 5px; }
    or
    form input[type='checkbox'] { margin-right: 1em; }
    if you want to use EMs instead of pixels.  I would highly recommend learning a bit more about CSS and HTML because it would save you time posting to these forums for these simple fixes.  CSS styles your webpage's content and every web designer should know CSS and fix this issue pretty quickly.  Muse is a good tool but unfortunately it doesn't teach you the underpinnings of the web which you'll need if you want to do any sort of customization outside of what Muse or other WYSIWYG tools.
    Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

  • Web form - Contact Us Form is not sending out notification emails

    I created a very simple webpage myself, basically what it does is to tell customers that leave you email here and we'll let you know when we open.
    This was my process:
    Built the webform in Muse;
    Published;
    Added a new domain;
    Configured the nameserver at Godaddy's side;
    Came back to my Adobe Business Catalyst Admin Console;
    Modified the webform a bit more through Site Manager -> Web Form;
    Updated by hitting the 'Update' button;
    Now, the Autoresponder Email is sending to my customers as described. However, I never receive anything that tells me 'Hey, a new customer just sent you an email and here it is.'
    Anyone knows why? Is it because I didn't setup GoDaddy right? or if it's something wrong with the mail server since I dont have one? But my customers got the autoresponder email...Raaaaa I'm so confused.

    If you log in to your business catalyst site, and select your webform, and click the 'notification e-mail' button, does it contain the email address you expect?
