Adding a button to ALV row (OO ALV)
Hi,
I am able to add a button to the ALV row but I am not able to capture which button is pressed. I am defining the button as below :
l_f_colpos = l_f_colpos + 1.
l_r_fcat-tabname = 'G_T_GLALV'.
l_r_fcat-fieldname = 'BUTTON1'.
l_r_fcat-col_pos = l_f_colpos.
l_r_fcat-scrtext_m = text-008.
l_r_fcat-style = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_style_button.
l_r_fcat-just = 'X'.
APPEND l_r_fcat TO gt_glfcat.
CLEAR l_r_fcat.
My requirement is when the user presses the button on the ALV row , I have to display something depending on the row.
Please give some inputs of how to capture the button which is pressed.
Thanks in advance,
Nilanjan Dey

Adding radio button to each row of an interactive report: possible or not?
First of all let me explain what the point of this application is.
I'm making an application that allows a user to select something out of a drop-down select list. This list is a list of categories for food. Let's say the user selects "Fruit".
Then the page refreshes and shows an interactive report with a list of food that belongs to the category of fruit.
Here's where I want to change things:
I want the user to see the interactive report, but in this interactive report I want to add a radio button for each row.
Then, when a certain type of food is selected (let's say "Strawberry") via the radio button, a text field should appear underneath the interactive report. In this textfield, the user can then add the weight of the food item, and then it will calculate how many carbs there are in the strawberry.
All I really want to know is:*
How do I add a radio button to each row of the interactive report, and how do I link this radio button to the value of that particular row?*
Additional information:
The item "P17_FOOD_CATEGORY" contains the following LOV:
select FOODCATEGORYNAME as display_value, FOODCATEGORYID as return_value
from FOODCATEGORY
order by 1
The "Food" region contains the following source:
select a.FOODID, a.NAME, b.FOODCATEGORYNAME, c.STANDARDAMOUNT, c.NAME Unit
from FOOD a inner join FOODCATEGORY b
on a.FOODCATEGORYID = b.FOODCATEGORYID join FOODUNIT c
on a.FOODID = c.FOODID
where a.FOODCATEGORYID = :P17_SET_CATEGORY
EDIT:
PLEASE! Even if you don't know a good answer or if you are unsure about your answer, do post! Even suggestions would be welcome! I really need all the help I could get, even if it's not much.
Edited by: 917169 on Feb 29, 2012 12:25 AMHi there!
I tried to change my code to your version, but then I get an error message:
Error Unable to change Interactive Report query.
ORA-12899: value too large for column "APEX_040100"."WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_COLUMNS"."DB_COLUMN_NAME" (actual: 32, maximum: 30)
I don't quite know what this means. After doing a quick search on the internet, I know that this message should mean that the length of the value for the columns named "APEX_040100", "WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_COLUMNS" and "DB_COLUMN_NAME" is too long. But, I don't have these columns. I searched for them in my object browser, and they can't be found in any table related to my application.
I'm sure your answer is the solution, but do you perhaps have an idea on how to solve this error? I checked the allowed maximum length for any column value that is related to my application, but they all have "50" set as the maximum value...
Thank you for your reply. ;) -

Adding of buttons onto ALV in executable mode
Hi ABAPPERS,
I have a requirement. I am developing an ALV grid in which whenever the report gets executed, there is a selection criteria , say it a Period. Depending on the period we select, the report gets executed. Now, on the screen of the ALV, we shud get 2 radio buttons and a push button so that the report shud get executed depending on the selection of the radio button. How can we achieve this functionality?
Kindly help me out.

Adding a button to each row of a tabular form
Hi,
I'm new to APEX. I've searched the forums high and low for a couple days, but no go on a solution to my problem. Perhaps I'm not phrasing my search right.
I have a tabular form. The columns in each row save to a table called STORE. At the end of each row, I'd like to have a button/hyperlink that takes you to another page wherein, for that store, you can check/uncheck the items they carry. So, here's the main tabular form:
The Hardware Shop -- Col1 Col2 Col3 Col4 Col5 Link
Bob's Nuts and Bolts -- Col1 Col2 Col3 Col4 Col5 Link
Suppose you click on the link for The HW Shop. Now you're in a screen where you have a list of 20 items (coming from another table). From that list, you can check/uncheck the items carried by that store, save changes, and return to the tabular form. Checking/unchecking would insert/delete records from a junction table (using a trigger I guess).
Back in the tabular form, you should still be able to save data at that level (i.e. the col1, col2, etc., above). I have this latter part working, and I know how to write triggers, it's just the button link concept that I can't understand.
I'd be much obliged if somebody could point me to some sort of reference/example.
Thanks,
MaxHi again,
I'd like to add some functionality to this, and would appreciate any input. I can't post this app for security reasons, and it would require a lot of reworking to 'genericize' it, so I'll just devote that same energy to being as detailed as possible in my explanation of the issue.
Part of my app has 2 pages that interact with each other. Page 1 is a tabular form, and at the end of each row there is a link column, which I created with Arie's help. This link opens up page 2, which is also a tabular form.
Clicking 'Save' in page 2 should launch a javascript function to do some calculation, and then this calculation should be sent back to page 1, and stored in a text field located on the same row as the link column that was clicked in page 1.
There's a lot of different ideas floating in the forums regarding javascript calls via buttons, and I'm currently researching that. More important to me is understanding what row number was clicked on page 1 (i.e. f01, f02, etc.).
I think this posting is similar to what I'm trying to do: Re: Trying to attach onclick event to a pagination link But, the replies went a bit over my head. I managed to create a row selector, which added a checkbox column to my form. But the downside to that is I don't want to force the user to click a checkbox to activate a row, and then do the additional step of clicking the link column.
Thanks,
max -
Hello
I would like to track the code of add row button in alv grid. When user cliks add row in avl toolbar what is the code? Is there some PAI module calls in that moment ? I found something about slis_selfield and something like mc_fc_loc_insert_row. I have tried write a code:
data button type ui_func.
button = gr_alvgrid -> mc_fc_loc_insert_row.
After that, in PAI module of screen where alv is, I have tried to read that button. But no results.
Frankly speaking I don't know how to use that all. Can anybody tell me how.
I will be gratefully.Hi Sri,
I think there is no standard way for this.
Maybe with java script.
Actually the users do not need to save data before they get the additional lines, A refresh is enough.
So maybe you should just define a button calling the refresh command and just name the button different.

EXPLANATION
In this program, first we created a PF status (ZSOM_STANDARD), which was an exact copy of STANDARD of program SAPLSALV through transaction SE41 (Menu Painter). Then we added another button to it,with a new fcode called CHNG. After this this we set this PF status instead of STANADRD.
We initialize a third event USER_COMMAND and associate a form with it. In this form we can capture the function codes and write any functionality under it. If we write functionality for an existing fcode, then this gets precedence over the default functionality that might be associated with it.
In this example, we capture a standard fcode &IC1 that is nothing but double clicking a line of the report. We are capturing the notification number of that line and calling transaction IW52 with it. We are also doing the same when a user clicks on the new Change Notification button.
When the user clicks the Back button in IW52, it comes back to the report.
Please reward for the same.

Button in alv grid cell using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
Hi all,
I want to make the contents of 2 columns of my alv grid as push button with values as text on it. I am not using classes or methods but alv grid fm. On clicking the button one dialog box has to pop up which gives edit option for the values in that coloumn, my question is how to introduce button in alv grid cell? if i can use t_fieldcatalog-icon, then please give me the complete steps for that.
Thanks.this may helps u
u need to copy stadard screen elemetn to MARATAB1(at PF -STATUS)
You should copy the 'STANDARD' GUI status from program <b>SAPLSLVC_FULLSCREEN</b>
type this one in SE41 program name is:<b>SAPLSLVC_FULLSCREEN</b>
status : <b>STANDARD_FULLSCREEN</b>
and copy it ...

Hi,
Does any one have a code sample for the ALV Table Delete button? When I hit the DELETE button the selected row gets deleted but how can I save this deletion to the database table so that when I do a refresh the deleted row does not re-appear.
Thanks. KimHi Kim,
i am sorry but I dont have a sample code for this .. but yes i can tell you a very simple logic here that should work fine ..
When the user clicks on Delete Entry call method say "Delete_entry" and within this you can write code based on this logic..
1) On_Action_Lead_Select should copy the content of that row to another context node say "Selected_Entry"
2) Search for this entry in your internal table/database that was bound to the ALVs context node(data source) and remove it using standard functions
3) again read the database/internal table data and bind it to the context node ..
Your changes will be reflected in your ALV..
I hope this helps and if it does please do award points
Also please close the thread if the issue gets resolved ..

Disable delete button in ALV grid
Hi Experts,
I have a functionality to disable some buttons in alv grid such as delete row,cut,print etc.
I know how to exclude them by using it_toolbar_excluding , but I need to disable them.
Can you please let me know how to handle this.
I am displaying the ALV grid by calling the method set_table_for_first_display.
Thanks in Advance
PrasanthHi,
By using below code you can disable any button in ALV display
data : tool_wa_exclude type ui_func.
tool_wa_exclude = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_fc_loc_delete_row.
append tool_wa_exclude to tool_it_exclude .

Up and Down Buttons in ALV Grid
Hi,
If you open the Sorting Screen of an ALV Grid, you can select Columns you want to see and you can rearange them by clicking this Up and Down Buttons. Are these up and down buttons Standard or are they only available in this Sorting Screen? Because i also want to allow the user to sort entries in an own ALV Grid by rearranging the entries with Up and Down buttons. Do i have to add them by my own or is there a standard feature. I saw that there is an Move Row Function, but i did not found any documentation on that.
Thanks,Jonhy:
This is a little example with ALV, you can see basically are tree things:
1.- Create fieldcat
2.- Have internal table with informacion
3.- CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
All buttons into ALV Tool Bar are standar, and you can hide/show them, or in some case changed a lot of behavior.

Buttons in ALV Grid cell need focus to be clicked :-(
Hi,
I have an ALV Grid with single cells displayed as buttons (dependend on the data in the corresponding row). Unfortunatelly the button-cells need focus to be clicked. So you need two clicks: one to get the focus to the desired cell and one to really click the button.
Any ideas how to make this work with one single click ? (Setting a hotspot does not work, cause hotspots have the same problem.)
Regards,
TobiHello Tobias
The proposal by Naimesh is valid for CL_GUI_ALV_GRID, too. You may have a look at sample report ZUS_SDN_ALVGRID_EVENTS_HOTSPOT. Put the focus on any non-button cell and next click on any customer button.

Toolbar buttons in ALV column tree
Dear Experts,
Currently a report is being displayed using 2 custom container and class CL_GUI_ALV_COLUMN_TREE in a single screen Screen 100.
Funtions like Select all, Deselect All, Expand All, Colapse all are in the GUI status of this Screen 100.
<b>Q1</b>. Is it possible to have buttons on the container itself (instead of having it in the GUI status of Scr. 100) and have the above funtions work for ALV column tree .
<b>Q2.</b> There exists a check box in each row of the node in both the containers which is meant for comparing data between two containers.
e.g the user Checks one row of the first container (ALV tree output) and another in 2nd container and press Compare button which is present in Scr 100 GUI status.
When the ckeck box is selected the rows are being selected, this is done in CheckBoX Change event of CL_GUI_ALV_COLUMN_TREE. Now when the Deselect ALL button is clicked rows are getting deselected but check marks are not getting cleared from the check box.
How can the check box be cleared when we press Deselect All button which is in GUI Status of Scr 100.?
Thanks n RegardsHello Mahesh
Assuming that you are dealing with class
CL_GUI_ALV_TREE (because I cannot find class CL_GUI_ALV_COLUMN_TREE) sample report BCALV_TREE_04 shows how to add a button to the toolbar.
The crucial points can be found in routine CHANGE_TOOLBAR:
form change_toolbar.
* §1.Get toolbar instance of your ALV Tree.
* When you instantiate an instance of CL_GUI_ALV_TREE the constructor
* of the base class (CL_ALV_TREE_BASE) creates a toolbar.
* Fetch its reference with the following method if you want to
* modify it:
call method g_alv_tree->get_toolbar_object
importing
er_toolbar = g_toolbar.
check not g_toolbar is initial. "could happen if you do not use the
"standard toolbar
* §2.Modify toolbar with methods of CL_GUI_TOOLBAR:
* add seperator to toolbar
call method g_toolbar->add_button
exporting
fcode = ''
icon = ''
butn_type = cntb_btype_sep.
* add Standard Button to toolbar (for Delete Subtree)
call method g_toolbar->add_button
exporting
fcode = 'DELETE'
icon = '@11@'
butn_type = cntb_btype_button
text = ''
quickinfo = text-901. "Delete subtree
