Adding a clock to Layout

Is it possible to add a clock/timer to the layout in Mainstage? It seems like it would be available and easy to do but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Hi
To add a "Time Display" (ie clock, not 'Timer'):
Create a Parameter Text Screen Control in Layout Mode.
In Edit Mode at Concert level, select the Parameter Text Control, and map it to Actions:Current Time

  • How do I edit or remove text automatically added to a DITA layout?

    I'm evaluating FM11 with an eye toward using it to author our print manuals (along with all the reuse stuff that DITA will allow). I have some experience with DITA authoring in other applications, but FM is new to me.
    It's going to be up to me and a colleague to demonstrate how FM is an improvement over our current manual process (InDesign). One thing we need to demonstrate in particular is how we'll retain complete control over layout appearances (something we don't easily get in our other XML authoring tool).
    I've been playing with the "New" DITA task/reference/concept templates as they open, and I'm troubled to see that text automatically appears in some places and I can't edit it or delete it. For instance, an <info> tag adds the text "ADDITIONAL INFORMATION". We may not want that text to appear in our layouts, or we may want to change it. At the very least, I'll need to demonstrate that I have control over text like this.
    I've looked through Reference Pages, EDDs, DTDs, INIs, and several other places, and I can't nail down the source of the (potentially) unwanted text. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Hi ohnehosen...
    These strings are defined in the EDD, as autonumber text in the paragraph style, or on the reference pages. It sounds like you've checked all those places, but they *are* there. One problem that you may be running into with FM11 is that you're likely using DITA 1.2, and for DITA 1.2 there is a separate structure application for each topic type. That means you'll have different EDDs and templates to search through. If you modify an EDD you'll be needing to import that into the corresponding template.
    I strongly suggest that instead of modifying the default structure apps, you first clone the defaults to names of your own. Then you modify your custom apps and leave the default apps available unmodified for testing. You *will* break the apps at some point (everyone does), and without the default unmodified apps available for testing.
    If you don't need the DITA 1.2 model, you might consider using the DITA 1.1 apps, which (I believe) are just one app for all topic types.
    OR .. if you want a far simpler and reliable option for PDF publishing from DITA, you might check out DITA-FMx. This is a product that I sell, but it provides enhanced DITA authoring and publishing tools in FrameMaker ..

  • Adding a clock to a field in a PDF using Adobe Designer

    Hi,
    I am trying to add a clock field to a PDF.
    It needs to be a continous clock in the format of HH:MM:SS.
    I am having alot of trouble.
    It is probably quite simple.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Damo.

    Drag and drop the current date field which is under.Object Library > Custom > Current Date.
    Select the field In the Binding change the Date Fomat to Time.If you want to change the pattern Object > Field > Pattern > Locale Select English(USA) and select what ever pattern you want.
    Then modify the script of the same field as below.
    $.rawValue = num2time(time(), "HH:MM:SS")  Language should be formcalc.
    Thanks

  • Adding buttons in null layout...

    Hi...,
    I am new to Java and I would like to know how null layout can be implemented in a frame and how to add buttons on in anull layout. Any help would be appreciated.

    You can use the setBounds() of the components you want to place on your form. Like this:
    public class Test extends JFrame
         JButton    button1 = new JButton("1");
         JButton    button2 = new JButton("2");
         JButton    button3 = new JButton("3");
         JTextField text1   = new JTextField();
         JTextField text2   = new JTextField();
         JTextField text3   = new JTextField();
         public void Test()
             Container contentPane = getContentPane();
                contentPane.setLayout(null);
                button1.setBounds(252,25,85,26); //x,y,width,height
             button2.setBounds(252,55,85,26);
             button3.setBounds(252,85,85,26);
             text1.setBounds(60,25,168,24);
             text2.setBounds(60,55,168,24);
             text3.setBounds(60,85,168,24);
             contentPane.add(button1);
             contentPane.add(button2);
             contentPane.add(button3);
             contentPane.add(text1);
             contentPane.add(text2);
             contentPane.add(text3);
                setVisible(true);
                setSize(400,300);
           public static void main(String args[])
                new Test();
    }

  • Photos and layouts change size when adding photos in book layout

    I am using the Classic layout to create books.
    Sometimes, when I move a photo down into the layout, unpredictable things happen. For example, when I drag a photo down onto the page layout, sometimes the photo will change sizes, and sometimes the layout will move around (esp. with 3 or 4 images on a page). On a page with a single image, sometimes the photo comes in large, and sometimes it shrinks. On a 3 photo per page layout, sometimes the layout starts with 3 photo boxes in a row. I can add one or two, and then I add another (could be the 1st, 2nd or 3rd - it's the image file that I think triggers the change) and all the boxes scramble and instead of a row of 3 equal-sized boxes, now I have a page with 1 big and 2 small boxes. Totally unpredictable!
    Is there any way to control this?
    All the photo files I'm starting with are high resolution tiffs, around 8 inches square (most are squares, not 4x6 snapshots) at 300 dpi.
    I have had this issue on 3 computers (and probably 2 different versions of iPhoto): a 2-year-old G5, and two brand new iMacs.
    Any help or advice is welcome. Thanks.
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    If you Control-click on the square photo in a book frame you can select the "Fit photo to frame size" option and the entire image will be contained in the frame. there will be some white space on the short side.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Adding a clock in captivate

    Hi all!
    Im working on a tutorial with CP 3, and need to add some sort
    of clock to it to see how long it took for the user to finish it.
    Does anyone has a susgestion?
    Thanx, Daniel

    Welcome to our community, Daniel
    Are you deploying your Captivate files using a Learning
    Management System (LMS)? If so, I believe that is one of the
    functions of a LMS. To track how long it took the user to complete
    the course.
    If you aren't using a LMS, perhaps consider implementing one?
    There are some that are free to use. Moodle is one of those. It is
    open source.

  • Swing/Adding Menu's To Layout.

    Hi,
    I'm having problems trying to add my menu into the frame. I've tried many different options? Put i've been getting no where. I need to also ad BGView as well.
    Any thoughts? I need to have it split up into 2 classes as well.
    //---Code---//
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class BGMainView extends JFrame {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    new BGMainView().show();
    private BGView bgView;
    private BGMenu bgMenu;
    public BGMainView() {
    bgView = new BGView();
    bgMenu = new BGMenu();
    bgMenu.setVisible(true);
    //Problem with adding them both ???
    getContentPane().add(bgView, bgMenu);
    setSize(400, 400);
    setTitle("Title");
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class BGMenu extends JFrame {
    public BGMenu() {
    JMenuBar menuBar;
    JMenu menu;
    JMenuItem menuItem;
    menuBar = new JMenuBar();
    setJMenuBar(menuBar);
    menu = new JMenu("Menu");
    menu.setMnemonic(KeyEvent.VK_G);
    menuBar.add(menu);
    menuItem = new JMenuItem("Quit");
    menuItem.setAccelerator(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_Q, ActionEvent.CTRL_MASK));
    menu.add(menuItem);
    //Build second menu in the menu bar.
    menu = new JMenu("Help");
    menu.setMnemonic(KeyEvent.VK_H);
    menuBar.add(menu);

    lets put it simply like this
    1) u cant add a frame to a frame
    2) there is no method like add(component,component);

  • Adding Text to Custom Layouts

    Im trying to add text to a custom layout.  Here;s what im trying to do.  So you've seen the 4x6 postcards people make to hand out for a show? I followed the Scott Kelby lightroom 3 book and its not explaining how to make the template a 4x6 .  It all starts you out on a 8x11.  Then, if you want to add text, it only gives you this tiny box that wont let you make sentences or indent your lines. Ive tried different things in "identity Plate" but that doesnt work either.  I cant see what im doing because it only gives you a little box and wont show you what you are typing.  Anyway , i hope someone is having the same problem and can help me work this out.  I know it can be done. ive done it before. about 2 years ago. But didnt save my template and now cant remember how to do it.
    Thanks., Sal

    It would be a good idea, usually, to just upload the page and
    post a link to
    it. That way we can see both the HTML and the CSS, and make
    suggestions
    that are keyed to your specific layout.

  • Issue with adding JPanel objects with layout managers

    Hi. The games I made in the past did not contain any customized menus (ie. not from JOptionPane) different components dividing the display screen... so I thought I would try to on my current game I'm working on. So here's the issue: I'm trying to set the GUI up for the game screen.. but when I try to add in additional JPanel objects into the my main JFrame object, all of the JPanel objects stack up at the very top left corner (their not supposed to because I am using a layout manager). Here's my simplified version of the code:
    public void setUpGame(){
         MainGame game = new MainGame();
         game.setLayout(new BoxLayout(game, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS) );
            playPanel = new PlayPanel(); // don't worry about this.. it's a subclass of JPanel.
         playPanel.setPreferredSize( new Dimension(playPanel.width, playPanel.height) );
            game.add(playPanel);
            JPanel collections = new JPanel();
            collections.setLayout(new FlowLayout() );
            collections.setPreferredSize( new Dimension( 1280, 256));
            miniMapPanel = new MiniMapPanel(); // subclass of JPanel.
         miniMapPanel.setPreferredSize( new Dimension(miniMapPanel.width, miniMapPanel.height) );
            collections.add(miniMapPanel);
            statsPanel = new StatsPanel();
         statsPanel.setPreferredSize( new Dimension(statsPanel.width , statsPanel.height ) );
            collections.add(statsPanel);
            ... // I do the same thing for StatsPanel and CommandPanel objects
            game.add(collections);
            add(game);
            // referencing to the JFrame object
            this.pack();
            setVisible(true);
            setFocusable(true);
    }Notes:
    -The sum of miniMapPanel.width, statsPanel.width, ... , commandPanel.width add up to 1280 pixels.
    - miniMapPanel.height, statsPanel.height, ... , commandPanel.height all have the same height of 256 pixels.
    - What I'm trying to do is set up a GUI very similar to that of StarCraft, and WarCraft.
    - The game is set up in full screen.
    When I compile the program, I see (and I've tested for it) that all of the JPanel objects that were created are all stacked one on top of each other, in the top left corner of the screen. Any ideas and/or suggestions are welcome.

    Hi weng,
    Try the following code example. I think the issue might be in your overridden methods if you did.
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            JPanel viewPanel = new JPanel();
            viewPanel.setBackground(Color.GREEN);
            viewPanel.add(new JLabel("You see a hut here..."));
            JPanel minimapPanel = new JPanel();
            minimapPanel.setBackground(Color.WHITE);
            minimapPanel.add(new JLabel("Minimap!"));
            JPanel commandPanel = new JPanel(new FlowLayout(FlowLayout.LEADING));
            commandPanel.add(new JButton("Characters"));
            commandPanel.add(new JButton("Inventory"));
            commandPanel.add(new JButton("World Map"));
            commandPanel.add(new JButton("Menu"));
            JPanel lifeAndManaPanel = new JPanel(new FlowLayout(FlowLayout.LEADING));
            lifeAndManaPanel.add(new JLabel("Life: 999/999"));
            lifeAndManaPanel.add(new JLabel("Mana: 999/999"));
            JPanel statusPanel = new JPanel(new BorderLayout());
            statusPanel.add(commandPanel, BorderLayout.PAGE_START);
            statusPanel.add(lifeAndManaPanel, BorderLayout.CENTER);
            JPanel bottomPanel = new JPanel(new BorderLayout());
            bottomPanel.add(minimapPanel, BorderLayout.LINE_START);
            bottomPanel.add(statusPanel, BorderLayout.CENTER);
            JPanel game = new JPanel(new BorderLayout());
            game.add(viewPanel, BorderLayout.CENTER);
            game.add(bottomPanel, BorderLayout.PAGE_END);
            JFrame frame = new JFrame();
            frame.getContentPane().setLayout(new BorderLayout());
            frame.getContentPane().add(game, BorderLayout.CENTER);
            frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(WindowConstants.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
            frame.setSize(800, 600);
            frame.setVisible(true);
        }

  • Adding webpart to page layout

    Hello ,
    I would like to add a custom webpart to an article page layout. The webpart shows the events related to the article.
    I want that when i add a page that use the article page layout , the webpart is created automatically.
    I would like that the user can modify the webpart to set some custom proprieties.
    How to reach my requirement ?
    Thanks

    Using article page layout you can create articles. Not clear on what events related to article you would like to show.
    What I can recommend for your scenario is as :
    1. Create a custom web part which has custom properties (using toolbox in web part code).
    2. Deploy this to the sites/web application.
    3. Write a event handler based on a content type (as you are in SP 2013). target your article page layout here. refer - http://karinebosch.wordpress.com/walkthroughs/sp2010-event-receiver-for-content-type/
    4. in the event handler, where ever any new article page is created, add the custom web part. http://nikpatel.net/2010/11/09/programmatically-add-the-web-part-on-the-sharepoint-web-part-page/

  • Re: adding a scrollbar to layout area

    ohh and before you all think im crazy the text is just example text untill i get it right lol thanks again for any replies to this :) oh and i know the programming is really messy but im just starting out with the java!!

    Scroll bars in portlets is not something that is directly supported. You can have your portlet content display inside an iFrame. A sample iFrame portlet is included in the PDK.
    If you have questions about portlet development, please post them to the PDK forum.

    Hi,
    FBL5N: customer line item display.
    BSEG-PERNR: personnel number.
    Under which circumstances should BSEG-PERNR contain a value if you create customer related postings?
    If there is no personnel number given during posting (why should it?)  the field added to the FBL5N-layout will be empty.
    Best regards, Christian
