Adding a document link to Numbers
I'd like to use a column in a Numbers file to add links to associated documents. I can't find any reference to this in the Numbers Help file - is this possible?

Many thanks Wayne for this suggestion, it's the answer I want. I've followed this in a slightly different way.
I was already using Apache on my Mac to mirror some websites for which I had been producing Perl CGI scripts. I have MAMP Pro which allows me to set up a host file so that I can access the website on my Mac using a pseudo name, and it takes care of starting up Apache. It was a simple matter of putting all the files I wanted to link to in Numbers in the same folder then give it a simple name in my hosts file to use in the link.
I should have thought of this before!

I am trying to insert a shortcut 'Add DocumentLink' like 'Add Document' inside a document library (just replacing upload.aspx with newlink.aspx (id=idHomePageNewLink) it brings up the first form to upload the Document URL & Title when click on OK gives
error message. We have created views in library with filters to show only specific documents to control access; from any view when they use 'Document Link' from ribbon it always lands up in a different view. please let me know how i can add shortcut linkHi M Raki,
You seems to add custom action in the Ribbon to replace the upload document function.
You can create custom action using CustomAction element in CAML, the following sample shows how to do this. And to achieve the upload function, if you don’t want to use default upload page, custom a layout upload page to achieve the upload, then redirect
to the default list view page.

Linking a pages document into a numbers cell
Hi can anyone out there help me - Just purchased a mac and have transferred an excel database along with my word documents. All my web page hyperlinks are OK but the word document links don't work.
My question is, can mac only link web pages and email, or is there a button hiding somewhere to enable such a link - has been driving me bonkers for couple of days

Can document links be added via scripting?
Can we add document links through scripting on Master Agreement header page? We are trying to mass update document links for about 3000+ records and hence I need to create a script (one time task) that can add these values on MA header page.
I am trying to create the document link defintion as follows:

How can I convert an Excel (2008) document to Numbers. When I drag the Excel document onto the Numbers icon I get, "Import error. The file format is invalid.
That extension identifies the most current Excel file format, a format that can be opened by Numbers '09 (and by Numbers '08).
A check with Numbers '09 shows it capable of opening .xlsx files when right-clicked (and Numbers chose as the application to open, when double-clicked (if Numbers has been set as the default application to open this type of file, or when dragged to the Numbers icon in the dock.
I see two possibilities for Numbers inability to open it and the message you receive:
1. The file is not actually an Excel file, and the sender has added the .xlsx extension to the filename manually.
2. The file is an Excel file, but has somehow been corrupted.
Have you tried opening the file with a different application? The open source Office suites, OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice and NeoOffice can also open .xlsx files. If they're unable to open this one, that would point toward the file itself being faulty. You can download these applications from their rspective websites, linked in the names above. All request a donation to support future development, but only Neo requires one to have been made recently, and that only for the current release (which won't be necessary to open .xlsx files).

Acrobat X external document linking problem
Hello,
I have been using Acrobat 6 standard for our user manuals for years and have recently started using Acrobat X.
It seems that the external document linking has changed though. I used to put all of our 3rd party literature (PDFs) in a separate folder (to keep it clean and neat) under our main manual PDF. I would link to all those documents inside our user manual PDF. Then when I later burned the PDF and the 3rd party literature to a CD, as long as I maintained the folder heirarchy, everything worked just fine.
Under Acrobat X though this doesn't seem to be the case. If I just burn it to a CD, then the all of the external links are broken. I have been able to do this by adding Desinations names to the 3rd part literature but this is a lot more work and I don't want to modify all of the 3rd party docs. In addition, some of them are read only and you cannot edit them.
Does anyone know how to link to external documents in Acrobat X and then move them to a new location while maintaining the link without editing the external documents (some are read only).
Thank you for any help you can give me.The Javascript code populates a field on the form and the If Then statement sets this value based on the amount in another field. I have changed all of the values in the If Then statement but the button is still using the old values.
I have tried this on three different computers and it will not pick up the new values. -
DIAPI posting Delivery Document with Serial Numbers SP1
Release 2005A, SP1 PL4 seems to have broken code that worked with SP00. When trying to create a Delivery Document that contains Serial Numbers, an error is generated: Error -1, General Error. When adding a delievery document which does not contain serial numbers, the document adds successfully.
The following code loops through a recordset to create documents, add expenses and add serial numbers when appropriate. Is this a new 'feature' or can we make a coding change to eliminate this error?

If you are just adding a delivery document with serial numbers, the DIAPI works OK. If you are adding a delivery document which is based upon a sales order and add the 3 lines that reference it:
oDelivery.Lines.BaseEntry = oSalesOrder.DocEntry
oDelivery.Lines.BaseType = SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oOrders
oDelivery.Lines.BaseLine = liMinRef
then you receive a error of -1, General error. This is functionality that did work in 2004 and 2005 SP00. I believe this is a bug. -

I had document library having more then 100 items, I limited the items to display as 5. I added this document library to my web part page. Now i wan to include "More Documents..." link here but I was unable to find any such option in

No. Numbers will only linke to a web page or an email.

I like having my Documents folder on the Dock so I added the Documents folder from the Finder to the Dock. When I save a document to the Documents folder, the saved document appears in the Documents folder from the Finder and not in the Documents folder on the Dock. Why is this happening? And how can I change this?

According to your description, my understanding is that the add new document link was not working on machine where Office web apps set up with this SharePoint server after you upgraded SharePoint team sites
from 2010 to 2013.
For your issue, it can be caused by integrating Office Web Apps with upgraded SharePoint Site.
Firstly please make sure claims-based authentication is used by the SharePoint web application that is used to create the new document. Only web applications that use claims-based authentication can open
files in Office Web Apps. To determine the authentication provider for a web application, follow these steps:
1.In SharePoint 2013 Central Administration, click Manage web applications.
2.Select the web application that you want to check, and click Authentication Providers on the ribbon.
The authentication provider must be displayed as Claims Based Authentication for Office Web Apps to work correctly with the web application. To resolve this issue, you can delete the web application and recreate
it using claims-based authentication, or you can change the authentication method of the web application.
Secondly, make sure the WOPI zones match on the SharePoint 2013 and the Office Web Apps Server farm.
To do this, run the following command on the SharePoint Server:
Get-SPWopiZone
The result will be one of the following:.
internal-https
internal-http
external-https
external-http
Next, run the following command on the SharePoint Server.
Get-SPWOPIBinding
In the output, look for WopiZone: zone. If the results from Get-SPWopiZone don’t match the zone that is returned by Get-SPWOPIBinding, run the Set-SPWOPIZone -Zone cmdlet on the SharePoint Server to change
the WOPI zone to match the result from Get-SPWOPIBinding.
If not work, you can try to disconnect SharePoint 2013 from Office Web Apps Server and re-configure Office Web Apps for SharePoint 2013.

Open Document Link on PO Approval WF
In the PO Approval Workflow, if you have the proper responsibility, an "open document" link is displayed that, when clicked, takes the user to a screen entitled "Notifications to Releases".
This function is available to our Purchasing Super User responsibility but is not available for the Purchasing Approver responsibility. I'm trying to change that.
Using help, I determined that the form associated with "Notifications to Releases" is POXPOERL. That form is assocated with the following functions and menus:

I've tried, under Functional Developer, to add several of these to the menu for Purchasing Approver. When they show up on the menu and I click them, I get a message stating: "You are not setup as a buyer. To access this form you need to be a buyer."
All I want is for people to be able to see and use the "Open Form Command". Am I going about this the wrong way?I was probably not clear enough in my original question.
We want people who are approvers - but not necessarily buyers - to be able to open the form from the link. I'm not set up as a buyer, but I have the Purchasing Superuser responsibility and I can open the form.
I guess, bottom line... some more information on how to make links to eBiz forms work from WF would be helpful. I've not found much in the Oracle-supplied documentation that we have; I've read what's in the Developer's Guide and the Admin guide. Can anyone suggest a web link or two that might shed more light on the process? -
How to get "Open Document " link

I have customized a Requisition Notification based on PL/SQL documents and work flow concepts.
I have created no.of requisitions to test. Each requisition have 3 persons involved say A ,B , C
One for submitting ,other two for approval .
After person B approves., it will go to C. till now Everything working fine ,
But In person C's notification list , the link called "Open Document " is missing to open the submitted requisition.
Do I NEED TO SET UP ANY THING .
How to resolve this .Any idea .Plz share.

I have 1000s of broken links after installing the latest version of iTunes and updating some files in my media folder. The location of my itunes library has not changed, and all the files are there (I know because I've just waited several hours for the files to be updated by my ultra-slow computer) - by my logic, there should be some menu option that simply re-synchronises with the media folder, just like itunes would do with an ipod - it can't be that hard can it? The only way I can restore a link is by clicking every song (I have over 28,000) and locating the file in the folder that iTunes claims to use as its media folder - the new version 10 option of then using this location to restore all broken links doesn't work because it only looks in the specific album file, and after a couple of times this dialog box no longer even comes up, so I couldn't ask it to do this even if I wanted to. At the moment the only option I can see is to completely wipe iTunes and re-load all my music from scratch - using my tired and over-worked computer this will realistically take around 15 hours that I don't have, and my computer will melt in the process. I wish I'd never tried to 'tidy up' my iTunes library...
PLEASE Apple, how hard can it be to have a function that searches for and restores broken links by itself????? I've told you where the music is - just flipping look for it yourself instead of getting me to do it!You don't have to re-rip, re-import or re-download all your content. You can clear the iTunes library, either by selecting all in the libary and pressing the Delete key, saying "no" when it asks if you want to remove the files themselves, and then use the Add To Library command, selecting the iTunes Media folder (or iTunes Music folder, as applicable to your situation), and that will add back all your content. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes; if it does, something may be amiss with your hard drive or the library file is corrupted (in which case just delete the library file and re-do the Add To Library command).

Select option , want to hide the selection field
