Adding a forum page

Is it possible to add a forum like we have here, to your own iweb website?
Power G5   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I don't think so. But you can create a forum on one of the free forum sites and link it from your iWeb page.
This is one free site: http://www.freeforums.org/.

  • CS4 is adding a blank page, throwing off the printing

    I am creating a 40-page booklet to be printed 2-up saddle-stitch
In the Pages layout, it says i have 40 pages in 21 spreads. 1 page on the top is the front cover and 1 page on the bottom is the back cover and 19 double-page spreads inbetween. Pages 2 and 39 are the respective inside covers. Page 1 is aligned on the right and page 40 is aligned on the left. It should be printing fine, I would think.
But in the Print Booklet-Preview Pane, it gives a message that it has added 1 blank page to creat the booklet, and it was added before page one, so I now have no back cover, and my inside covers and page layouts are all wonky now.
I noticed that in the Pages flyout there is a small square to the right of Page 40, where page 41 would be. A small square that I can't highlight.
A few more items of interest, all pages have both Allow Document Pages to Shuffle and Allow Selected Spreads to Shuffle checked.
I am at a total loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind that everyone here is a volunteer. Most of the regulars, like myself, drop in at least once a day, as we have time, and offer advice and solutions when we have them.
That said, I saw your post when it first was listed, and saw that you seemed to finding your way, and didn't have anything more to add at that point, as I suspect was the case with a lot of others. I'm sorry it never occurred to me to ask if you had any blank pages in the document, but there was nothing in the original post to suggest that, and including blank pages in a booklet print job is a pretty standard thing to do. If you know enough to have already added blanks to fix the page count, one would presume you also know enough to include them in the print job.
As far as the forum organization, we're about to go into a new version of the forum software, and many of the regulars are looking on that with some trepidation. Most of us actually LIKE the way things are now -- functional and uncluttered with extraneous nonsense like avatars and ratings points -- but it seems much of that is going to be creeping in. An attempt to unify the Adobe and Macromedia forums last year was an utter disaster, and we've all got our fingers crossed it won't happen again, but we'll be living with it no matter what as the Webcrossing contract is up and Adobe has signed on with Jive. You might want to take another look when the changeover is complete.
And, I'll repeat, these forums are probably the BEST source of FREE and accurate expert information on Adobe applications on the planet. You'll find users (and even some Adobe employees) from all over the world with vast experience in some pretty esoteric and specialized techniques. I find I still learn something new almost every week, and I've been making my living with InDesign since version 2.0 was released. I hope you'll come back if you have more questions.

  • Disussion Forum Pages Are Not Designed Well - What's Up?

In the Discussions Forum, the fonts in Safari don't get smaller or bigger when the larger/smaller font button is hit. On this site the buttons compress the line spacing but don't reduce the font size. You can't make any of the Discussion Forum pages appear right in Safari. It seems that the problem is with the design of the Discussions forum pages, as other websites behave fine; when I want a larger font, I hit the button and things scale correctly.
Curiously the smaller/larger font button in IE5.2 Mac works, and all of the Discussion Forum pages looks better.
This is the messiest looking that I've ever seen the Discussion forum look. I haven't been in the forum for some months, so I don't know when it last behaved correctly. This is the kind of problem that I would expect if the pages were designed on a PC using MS products and never checked for compatibility with other browsers , and whatever they look like to Mac users is whatever shows up - it's their problem.
Who's designing these forum pages, what software is being used to develop these pages, and who checks them for design and compatibility?
I'm using all of the latest software (OS and Safari).
Thanks - A very long time Mac user (18 years).

I apologize. It's not the page design. I figured out how to fix this. It's due to a pref setting in Safari.
In Safari, go to Advanced Preferences and uncheck the Universal Access (never use fonts smaller than 12). I don't know whether this was a default setting or I changed it to make other web pages stop loading the teenie weenie fonts that show up on some pages.
Again sorry for the insults to the designers

  • Stand alone region not seeing AM definition when added to seeded page...

I have created a stand alone region of type stackLayout that contains a messageLOVInput and a table for employee selection and forwarding to predefined pages. I then created a test page in JDeveloper where I added a FlexLayout region and extended my stackLayout region. This works as desired.
I then wished to test my stand alone region by adding it via personalization to a seeded page. I first copied the files to the appropriate directory in $JAVA_TOP into my custom directory. Then I loadd into the MDS, then bounced apache and OC4J. The controls renders as desired. However clicking upon the messageLOVInput in my stand alone region it opens a window and I get "Cannot find LOV in ... AM". Looking at the About this page link, I see that it is not recognizing my AM even though when I added the item via personalization (SITE LEVEL) I specified it. What am I missing here? This should be reusable functionality that can be added to any page, seeded or custom. But for whatever reason it fails to see my AM and thus cannot find the LOV. I know I didn't get the AM reference wrong during the personalization because it would throw an error if I had (ask me how I know this).
Has anyone ever done this before?

    Hi,
If your issue is resolved, you can close the thread so that it can be helpful for others :)

  • Main forum page hosed on Safari

Aside from the other format changes in the individual forums, here is a screen capture of what I see on the main Adobe Forums page.  I am perfectly willing to admit the problem is in part due to a problem in Safari.  However I question just how much testing was done before the latest change.  (No, it doesn't look like this when using FireFox.)
For what it's worth (not necessarily a great deal) the w3c validator lists 68 wrrors and 46 warnings.  More testing please.

  • Forum pages scrolling extremely slowly

    Hi,
Since a few days, the forum pages are scrolling very, very slowly in Firefox (and a little bit faster in IE, but it's slow anyway). I don't have any problem scrolling pages in other fora or web sites. This only happens when scrolling pages in the Adobe fora.
Any change in the forum software? Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

  • InDesign CC crashes when i adding a new page

    Hi together!
When I adding a new page InDesgin CC crashed. I tested it on two PC with Windows 7 and Windows 8. I also created a new document. Always the same problem when adding a new page. Can anyone help me?
    Regards
    Christian

Having similar problem for second time (different files, different content) in the past two months.
    Using IDCC2014 (10.2.0.69) on Mac OS 10.10.3.
When inserting a new frame (whether a newly placed image or an empty frame) with text wrap, text reflows (as expected) but InDesign quits (no warning or error, it just quits).
Inserting a new page and reflowing text also causes ID to quit.
Finding earliest page in document where the problem begins (similar to above reply; in my two cases that is p. 2 and p. 23) and deleting the text frame on that page causes ID to quit.
I work on quite a few books with many elements, but the files in question are just straight text with page numbers (not even running heads) and some illustrations to be inserted.
Saving as IDML does not resolve the issue. Trashing preference does not resolve the issue.
Dragging pages to a new file does not resolve the issue. But if text is copied-and-pasted into a new file then that new file will work fine.
The problem is consistent at various work stations across three different locations/networks.
The only fix has been to delete ALL of the document pages from the affected area on and do the work again, i.e., redraw new pages and apply the chapter opening master pages again. Deleting just the first page where problem is found or the first two pages where problem is found or first four pages where problem is found, etc., causes ID to quit.
In the case of this second file (I don't have the first file onhand right now), it does not have a long save history; it's not from a legacy template file or something like that. Cracking open the IDML file confirms only four saves beyond the initial creation and all in IDCC2014.
Anyone else coming across this problem? Any suggestions?

  • Slowdown in ASC forum pages.

Has anyone noticed a marked slowdown in the speed with which ASC pages register.   Since yesterday's ASC maintenance, my forum pages take a good three or four seconds to show.   My other page usage is unaffected; browsers, inter files movement etc, is instant

    Hello ~Bee,
Good to hear from you.   I get the feeling you are the official excuse wo/man for the maintenance department .   Moving furniture and all that.   Oddly enough I seem to suffer in quite opposite ways to you.
Yesterday was not too bad, normal, one could say, but today has been noticeably slower and hence my post.
Incidentally, I wrote to feedback suggesting they make some attempt to explain what they do.  I realise some things are commercially confidential but I have on occasions only found out when something shows to be missing.  No need for a document, a few friendly words would go down well.
Is it too much to ask of them, I ponder.
    Keep well.

  • Creating a Forum Page in Dreamweaver

How do I create a Forum page in dreamweaver? I am not
familiar with designing pages that website viewers may add content
    to.

Dreamweaver has no facility for creating forums. Your best
bet is to look at one of the free forum application packages, like
phpBB for PHP or Snitz for ASP.

  • Grey spot in the middle of the forum Page?

    I am just curious?
What's the deal with the grey spot in the middle of the forum page. It got me worry for a second, I though my monitor was going bad.

Do you mean this grey spot?
    It's just Adobe's page background.

  • Why does this forum page look like this?

It's only in Safari. It's fine in IE 11.
It's only the Boot Camp forum page too, no other

Thanks that seems to have cured it
    I wonder what that's about?

  • Adding ana archive page with a link in the Navigation bar

I am really new to all this so don't think that I'm a 'tard. I am building a blog on '06 and I like most of what I can do, but I can't figure out a couple of things. My current blog is with Godaddy (pronounced blow-daddy) and with that blog I have archives, recent entries and a calendar. Is there any way that I can duplicate that here? If not, how about just adding a blank page that I use for archives. I know that I already have one but I can't seem to make it visible in the navigation bar. Any help?

No, you have to have a page for it to show up in navbar.
The work around is to use refresh tag to redirect to your email address, here is how:
    http://www.geocities.com/[email protected]/Test/Front.html
    1) make a Front page
    2) make a Contact page, link Contact page to Front page's navbar
    3) editing Front page: search for href="Contact.html" change to target="_blank" href="Contact.html"
    4) copy contents of index.html
    5) editing Contact page: replace contents of Contact the contents of index.html
    6) search for http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url= some page.html" change it to http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=mailto:[email protected]"
    7) add the following to the end of Contact.html
    <script language="Javascript">
    <!--
    setInterval("window.close()",2000);
    -->
    </script>

  • Forum Page Design

The latest page design does not work for graphics displays lower than 1024x768, you get overlapping headers. Something I mentioned in the past.
In IE9 you can hit f12 or go ro developer tools and under the size heading for IE to display differing resolutions. So this is what the forum page looks like at 1024x768 see the headers on the right overlap the headers on the left. Not good UI design at all.
This is what the forrum page looks like at at a size of 1280x768 - so the UI designers of this forum really have defined a minium of 1280x768 to be able to view without jumping through hoops to navigate. Makes you wonder who really tests this stuff?
    Cheers

Yes they would, but it's not the smaller text that is the problem it is having two sets of links (Right Under Photoshop General Discussion that is the problem. Look at the 1024x768 image I posted the two halves of those links overlap.
But someting is not right with the overall design. A good design will detect the browser agent and serve up content based on that agent, so for IE9/Chrome etc you serve up format to match, and if you detect a mobile/smartphone browser you serve up the correct images, text etc to make it readable and usable.
If Yahoo can do it, anyone can, but you need to put thought into what you are serving content to, not rocket science and has been around for quite some time, so indeed not a new concept
