Adding a heading to the steps element in a DITA topic

Hello Framers,
I've been using unstructured FM for years, but I've only just started looking into structured FM. I am currently trying to adjust the sample DITA application that comes with FM 9 to our requirements. In the DITA task topic, the sample application adds frames from a reference page above and below the steps element. Both frames contain a line to visually separate the steps element from other elements in the topic. The upper frame also contains a heading for that element.
I don't like this approach at all. First of all, I don't want translatable text on the reference page. In addition, the heading should go to the side-head area. The EDD contains the following rules for the steps element:
Automatic insertions
  Automatically insert child: step
    and nested child: cmd
Format rules for first paragraph in element
  In all contexts.
    Use paragraph format: step.begin
Format rules for last paragraph in element
  In all contexts.
    Basic properties
      Paragraph spacing
        Change space below by: +6pt
      Pagination properties
        Keep with previous: Yes
      Advanced properties
        Frame below element: StepsEnd
I was thinking about adding a prefix to the steps element, but in this case, the prefix is formatted as the first step with the step.begin paragraph style. Is it possible to define a formatting rule for the second paragraph in an element?
Thank you for any help
Susanne

Maybe it is time to rethink what you need to do.
Just because FrameMaker ships DITA with styles that put a frame above and below the steps element, does not mean that you have to do it also. You can delete it from the EDD.
If you need your steps to have a heading, then use the heading (or title) element in one of the containing elements higher up the hierarchy, such as the taskbody. I do not use DITA but my structure has a procedure element that is something like:
Procedure
   Title
   Intro
   Step
   Step
The Title element contains the title or heading or the procedure. The Intro element contains introductory material for the procedure. Typically, the title is in the side head, which aligns with the first paragraph in the Intro. If there is no Intro element, then the title aligns with first Step element. This structure is simpler than the standard DITA structure, but my point is that the title of your procedure (or steps) need not be part of the steps element itself; my guess is that the DITA structure has a place for it higher up the hierarchy.

  • Adding over heads to the process order

    Dear All,
We  are executing one projrect for which production of goods will be started from 01.01.2012.so for this we need to caculate cost of the product before the production order executed.
For RM one BOM will be created & issued to the production order so that the cost of RM can be identified with the production order.
For Over heads we need to provide the facility to enter manually for each order based on qty. & rate in the production order.
So that before the production order executed the total cost of the order can be arrived.
Now pl. advice how to provide the facility to enter manually for each order based on qty. & rate in the production order
    Thanks

  • The Step Result element in the DITA tasks

While creating a task in DITA, the Steps element contains Step > Step Result element. If I insert the Step Result element, the text "Step Result:" is also displayed in my published output. I would like to use the Step Result tag, but I do not want to see the Step Result text being displayed in my output. I have gone through the style guides, edds, dtds, but don't know where the text is coming from. Please help.

    Hi ScottPrentice,
Thanks very much for the response. I followed your instructions, but no luck so far. Here's what I did:
    1. Opened my task document > View > Reference pages. I could not locate Step Result referenced frame there.
    2. Locate the template for this structured application - The template is Task.template. The template file is blank, so I opened the corresponding edd file: Task.edd
    3. The First Format Rules and Text format Rules for the Step Result element are as follows:
    First Paragraph Rules:
If Context is Step, use Step.result.begin
    else use substep.result.begin
    Text Format Rules:
If Context is Step, use paragraph format Step.result.begin
    4. The Step.paragraph.begin paragraph style is being used here. You asked me to change the referenced file to none, but I did not find such syntax where I can make it none.
The easiest way to determine the right tag to edit is by checking the paragraph definition in the task topic you're editing.
The paragraph definition is step.result.begin. Could you please help me edit and remove the step result text from it?

  • Header in the Report

    Hi All,
Does anybody have any idea about how to get the selection parameters entered through variables by the user in the header of the report.
Though the values of the selection parameters get displayed in the o/p display of BEx Analyser by default, but is there any way of adding a header to the report and display these selection parameters in the header as a label.
That means the basic requirment is dynamically changing header of the report.
    Regards,
    Varada

    Hi Varada,
First of all, make sure that your elements are displayed: Layout -> Display text elements -> All.
Then choose an Excel menu option Tools -> Macro -> VB editor. Put inside the SAPBEXonRefresh sub definition the following code.
    Dim txt1row As Integer
    Dim ws As Worksheet
    txt1row = 15
    Set ws = resultArea.Parent
    ws.Cells(1, 1) = ws.Cells(1, 1) & " - " & ws.Cells(txt1row, 2)
txt1row is a number of row where your text element is sitting. You can add some additional text if you want to. In this example to the existing report header the text element from the 15th row (through “ – “) will be added.
    Best regards,
    Eugene

  • Adding new fields to assignment block, what are the steps to do this.

    CRM 7.
Could someone tell me what the steps are to add new fields to specifdic assignment block. Assume that these fields do not already exist in any given structure/table.
My understanding is that I need to use transaction EEWB and then somehow use the component  "BSP_DLC_FS" and view "factsheet". But having never used EEWB before I'ma tad lost.  I'm in EEWB and have crfeated a project and believe that I now need to create an extension. When doing this I am displayed a box with 4 fields, being: Name, Description, EEW Bus object and Extension type. What are my next steps?
I assume that the EEW bus object is 'BUPA' and the extension type is 'ADD_NEW_FIELDS'. However, how do I know for sure that the EEW bus object should be 'BUPA', bearing in mind that I'm adding new fields to the Account (BP) main address communication data Assignemnt block?.
I wondered if anyone has a link to any guide docuemnt about how to do this?.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
I attempted to use EEWB to add new fields to BUPA but am hitting the error: BDT-DC is Not Prepared for This Application Object
On searching I can see that there are ways around this, via SM30 against table/view V_TBZ1_DC, changing the BDT BC settings, whatever they are. But it gives me a warning when this happens and mentions that only SAP are allowed to do this, but it will allow me to create a transport if I press on past this. Should I need to make this change though, or have I just done something wrong within EEWB I wonder.
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
You can try using Application Enhancement Tool (AET) to create new fields instead of EEWB,

ARD only works with Windows computers if the Windows computer is running VNC server software.  Even then it can only control and observe.  Do you have this installed?

  • I bought the pkg. of Photoshop & Premiere Elements 10 in 2012.  I now want to update to  Premiere Elements 13 without updating Photoshop.  Can I do this?  Will you please tell me the steps I need to take?

I purchased Photoshop and Premiere Elements 10 as a package in 2012.  I now want to update the Premiere to the 13 edition, without updating Photoshop.  Can I do this?  Will you please tell me the steps I need to take?

Just buy version Premiere Elements 13.
Even if you don't get the "upgrade" price, you can probably find it for about that cost on sites like Amazon.com.
You can keep Photo Elements 13 if you'd like. The only downside is that Premiere Elements 13 and Photo Elements 10 won't share the same Organizer catalog. Otherwise, they'll get along just fine.

  • EEWB and adding additional fields to the IBASE header

    Hello,
I have used the EEWB (Easy Enhancement WorkBench) to add additional fields to the IBASE header. The process ends with a success state and in all steps there are no logs. The objects are generated and visible in the database table of the IBASE header and activated.
When I go to the IB53 transaction the systems starts compiling. After the compiling there are no additional fields visible?
In the EEWB no more actions are possible and it seems only an append structure was created with the new fields (GENERIC_IC_TASK).
How do I get the fields to be visible in the IBASE transaction?
    I am using CRM 5.0.

    Ramakanth/Kiran,
For creating screen structures or additional fields on the IBase header screen you would need to manually append entries in Database Tables T371D.... through T371Z, it is a set of around12-14 tables depending on the scenario which would need updations.
Once updated in the right sequence you can see the EEWB fields on the Ibase header screen.
    Hope this helps.

  • Compressor adding white frames at the head of the movie converted

i used compressor to convert footage from mp4 to Apple prores 1024x576 16x9 and also change different frame rates to 25 fps
I resized all the big videos to 1024x576 and maintained the smaller videos like 640x360 in its original size as i will composite them together to maintain quality.
everything went well as compressor makes a very good job in resizing and frame rate coversion.
i noticed that compressor added at the head of the movies a white frame on most of the converted movies
and after importing the movies to fcp 6  i found that every time i use a movie with a white frame in the head Fcp crashes.
is it because of the frame rate as i noticed that the white frames are in the movies with for example 23.98 that were conformed to 25.
i cannot edit because of fcp quits.

What do you have the most of? 1920, 1280, SD?
What is the final deliveable? web, broadcast, blu-ray, SD DVD?
Maintaining the aspect ratio can be done in your sequence settings whether your sequence is HD or SD.
640x360 will still only fill about 1/2 of the 1280x720 screen at 100%.
You can scale it to fill the screen but you will take a quality hit.
In most cases putting 1920 in a 1280 sequence isn't going to make the baby jesus of quality cry.
In my experience upscaling SD outside of FC in another program doesn't usually help with quality.
I do the scaling in FC and know that I will have to render. I would still use Compressor for the frame rate codec conversion but do not change the source size unless you are converting to a more friendly broadcast size.
You may want to consider that SD footage doesn't have to fill the entire screen.
You can do other treatments to the footage so that you still fill the entire screen but the actual footage isn't being scaled to fill the entire screen. Blurred footage, stills, etc for a background can help with this.

  • What are the steps for adding a new field to the ST for CRM 2007?.

Yeah, I know it's a basic question. I'm fairly familiar with CRM 5.0 but 2007 is new to me and there a good few changes.
If I need to add a new field (probably with some processing to set its value) to the Service ticket what would be the steps I need to take to achieve this in CRM  2007?.
Your help would be much appreciated.
    Jas.

Are we talking about the EEW Business objects displayed in the EEWB as there is no business object called 'CRM OPPORTUNITY', but there is one called 'OPPORTUNITY'. Just wanted to make sure I was on the right track.
So, as I need to change the service ticket it would mean that my transaction type will be service request,or whatever the shorted value is, is that correct?.
I can see the transaction types in table CRMC_PROC_TYPE_T, although it looks like I need to pick SRVO (Service order) at a guess, and if this is right I'm looking for the EEW Business object to match. But it feels like guesswork to me. For example, I could choose EEW Business object 'SERVICE_TRANSACTION' which has an Extension type of 'CUSTOMER_H', or I could choose EEW Business object 'SERVICE_CONTRACT' or 'SERVICE_CONFIRMATION', although the last is unlikely. But, my point is there is so much open to interpreatation, and I'm expecting it to be more exact. Perhaps I'm just missing something.
    Jas.

Check if any event is triggered from the event handler class, upon selection.

  • Change Heading of the New Tab added through EEWB

    hi,
I am working on transaction 'CRM_DNO_MONITOR' (this is the display business transaction from CRMD_ORDER).
I added a field to the transaction by EEWB. The name of the last tab was 'CUSTOMER FIELDS'. A new tab is added and the same name 'CUSTOMER FIELDS' is shown on it. (so now there are 2 tabs with the same name)
I modified the BADI 'ZEEW_CUSTOMER_H02' in the method 'CRM_CUSTOMER_H_SET_TITLE'. The title was set as 'DETAILS'. Now both the new tab and the last tab present previously have the NEW Title 'DETAILS.
Can you please guide me how to change the NEW TAB TITLE for this transaction. Thanks.
    regards,
    FS

    Hi Fs
I have same problem. Can you please exactly let me know how did you fix the issue.

If I include this as part of my Source XI message then it will go as a payload which is not the requirement.
    Any suggestions for this?

Try using the "Keep Header" parameter at soap sender communication channel.
