Adding a logo to the playbar

Hi everyone,
I have a new template that I'm working with in my courses and I've customized my playbar to match the branding. What's bothering me is that it looks like our logo and copyright are "floating" above the Captivate playbar and I'd like to integrate those elements with the CP buttons if I can.
Is this possible? I would think it is, but I haven't been able to find any existing posts that can help me out with this. I'm using CP 5.5. I've tried searching through the Application files to find my saved playbars, but I can only find the CP template playbars.
Here's how it looks now...I'd like to push that logo and copyright to the bottom (and into the CP playbar itself).

What I would do in this case is use the "overlay" and "alpha" options in the skin editor to make it look like the logos are on the playbar.
1) If I needed the file to be the same size as it is currently, I'd use "Rescale Project" to increase the height of the project by the height of the playbar, making sure to choose "Keep the project the same size and position the project Top Center." (Note: this cannot be undone with ctrl-z once you've resized it, so if you've never used this feature before, maybe save it under a different name before trying just in case.)
2) You'd then have a project with extra white space at the bottom, the same size as your playbar. I'd move the graphics and background color down to where you want them (either keeping them on a master slide(s), or on the first slide set to show for the whole project).
3) Then I'd go to the skin editor and click the "Playbar Overlay" checkbox and make the Alpha (transparency control) 0%. The playbar should now sit on top of the bottom of your project where the logo and copyright are, instead of below.
Note: you may have to turn off the "border" in the skin editor if you have one.
I hope that's clear, and that it helps! It can be hard to explain things without pictures...

Here is what I want to do. I have set up the main menu file in photoshop. I already added the text for my sections(play, extras, chapters) What I want to do is bring in our logo to DVDSP, which I already did, and use that as the actual function for the play, extras, and chapters. For example, when I want to play, I want the logo under play, then when I press over, I want the logo to go to the next button and so on...
Can somebody help me figure out how to make my logo the button function?

I think I may not be quite following 100% (and if you can post what you are describing if the items below do not help, I can take a look)
Anyway, take a look here, a way to make highlights over video (uses Motion to make the video and exports an image as an overlay from Motion, but concept works with Photoshop also for the overlay and in the other links.)

You can place the logo in the video and then make an overlay to highlight the logo, or you can just make the overlay of the logo and map it out.

Removing the "Adobe Captivate" logo from the playbar

Hi,
I'm fairly new to the software, so sorry if this isn't possible - but I have a PowerPoint that I published through Captivate and so far works great, but the client would like to remove the captivate logo from the toolbar. I didn't see any options for this in the publish settings - is there any way of removing it?

Hi
I need to add my own Logo to the skin.
Also, I can only create one menu with options in the skin.
Instead, is there any way I can create two menus, each with
options?

To add your own logo, you will need to create a bitmap file
containing the logo and place it in the following folder:
D:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 3\Gallery\Textures.
Once you do this it should appear in the drop-down list of
other textures to choose from.

Help with adding a logo to the paypal checkout

HI,
I'm building a website with integrated FormsCentral forms. I'm trying to add a logo to the paypal check out. I have followed their guidelines but for some reason the page in which I have dedicated to the logo isn't secure? This might be the wrong forum to answer this question... maybe it's more of a Muse issue or even paypal but I hope someone has had the same issue and has resolved it some how.

Your logo image file needs to be stored on a secure server. I am not familiar with Adobe BC, please post your question on the Adobe BC forum site. Once this part is done, and according to the PayPal reference that you provided in your previous post, you will provide this secure-image-url to PayPal. If this does not work for you, then please contact PayPal support.

Adding logo to the standard PO Output for communication program

Hello All.
I need to add company logo to the Standard PO Output for Communication program. Can someone please tell me a way to do this. I went into applications and see its a Java Concurrent program. I even went into these forums and I saw there is a way to uncomment out the line in the XSL file and add the logo there , but how do I upload back to the template. The Upload Button is disabled for this template.
Can we use the Standard Purchase Order Stylesheet for this?
If so how to make changes and how can I upload it back?
Should I do an RTF temnplate?
Can someone pl help me here. We are on R12 and I am not much familiar with exposting RTF to XSF FO.

We took the standard PO document XSL-FO template and enhanced for our own needs. The first of those is to utilize the company's logo. Search for 'external-graphic' in the xsl-fo template. The first hit will be the section for the logo. The comments in the template provide some guidance on what to change. For our company, I changed the URL to point to a .gif file on the Apps server ($OA_MEDIA/company_logo.gif) .
The one downside that I have found so far, is that I am have to hard-code the entire document path. This path will change between instances. So I once our production instance is defined, I will set it to that path.

On windows movie maker you could just select "fit to music" but this program isnt as easy to figure out! Any help?

Double-click on the still image in the project timeline to open the Inspector. In the Inspector, adjust the duration by typing in a new duration to match the length of your music. I think the limit for a still image is 10 minutes. If you need more than this, simply drag the image into the timeline again then adjust its duration. The two images will play seamlessly (no gap will be visible).

You can achieve more precision when entering durations by changing a preference in the menu item iMovie Preferences. Check (tick) the preference for Show Time As HH:MM:SS:frames. This will enable you to enter the duration of stills down to the frame level, rather than full seconds (NTSC is 30 frames per second; PAL is 25 fps). When entering times, type a colon between each time segment, such as 2:50:15, which represents 2 minutes 50 seconds and 15 frames. For 5 seconds 20 frames you would enter 5:20 and so forth.
Note that the music will only run to the length of the video in the timeline (in your case, the still images). So, after increasing the stills duration you will need to drag the end of the music track as far as required. The stills can be dragged inwards to reduce the duration if necessary.

After adding the latest update to my 5c iphone, the screen was black, with the itune logo in the center, a white arrow below it point to the logo, and below that, what seemed to be a white lock, but it had a long white line reaching the bottom of the screen. I can't get the phone to start. The white apple appears and then I get the same logo, arrow, etc. What can I do to fix this? Thanks for any assistance.

Creating "Back" Navigation in a Branching Project Without the Playbar or a TOC?

I've been struggling with accomplishing a very simple goal: in my Captivate project, I want there to be a "Back" button on every single slide that sends the user back one slide based on their navigation history throughout the slide. The playbar must be disabled, and I don't want the user to have to deal with a Table of Contents.
Because this is a somewhat complex branching project, using the "go to previous slide" selection for a button will not work -- this simply sends the user one slide back in the filmstrip, and that might not be where I want them to go.
Using the "go to last slide viewed" selection for a button also will not work. This creates an infinite loop in which once the user clicks the "Back" button on one slide, they will go to the previously viewed slide, but when they click it again, they will return to the original slide. For example, repeatedly clicking this Back button will send the user from slide 2 to slide 1, then slide 1 to slide 2, then slide 2 to slide 1....etc.
Basically, all I want is an internet browser-style back button within my project. I figure this is a fairly common thing that project creators want to do, so I checked for any available widgets that might offer the desired functionality, but I've come up with nothing.
It would seem as if my only hope lies in two potential places: either the execute Javascript selection for buttons, or Advanced Actions.
Before I dig too deeply there, I was wondering if anyone had a simple solution for this very basic problem. I've looked around the forums, and this particular thread looks very relevant: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4575291#4575291 . In that thread, it looks like the original poster just decided to create a separate swf for each of the linear branches of their project. For my project, this would be a most inelegant and clutttered solution.
Anyone have any ideas? If I must use Advanced Actions / variable creation, could you point me in the right direction? I'm on Captivate 5, by the way. Thanks.

Indeed this issue has come up several times over the years, because some authors would like Captivate content to work in much the same way that other web-based content playing in a browser does. When users see content in a browser, they expect there will be a Back button that takes them to the last-visited slide. If they just keep clicking that Back button, they expect it will retrace their path through the content.
What happens under the hood in the browser is that it stores all the URLs that the user visited in an array of sequential values, which allows the browser to retrace the user's path.
Captivate currently has no built-in array facility available to authors for this purpose. Captivate variables can only store one value. Advanced Actions are not powerful or flexible enough to build the kind of programmatic loops that would allow you to traverse a series of variables to try and duplicate typical Back button functionality.
It might be possible to do all of this using some fancy JavaScript coding, but you (or someone that owes you a favour) would need decent coding skills to pull it off.
I think it would be great to log an enhancement request with Adobe for a couple of Advanced Actions to be added for this need. Perhaps we could call them Go Back History -1 and Go Forward History +1. These would just reference an internal array somewhere in the bowels of Cp where the History is kept. Then all authors would need to do is choose this as a button action or an action in a conditional advanced action of some kind.

Buttons inactive when the playbar reaches the project end

I am using Captivate 6.
I am creating a standard UI template file. I have added a smartshape button that opens up a PDF file for download/ save. This button is visible and active throughout the Captivate project right from the first slide (timing set to Rest of the project).
The problem is when the playbar reaches the end of the project, this button gets inactive.
I checked in the forums and found a similar query in this post.

Based on the info there, I checked the frames in the project (in Project Info) and the last frame where the playbar ends. I noticed that the last frame of the playbar is 2 frames more than the frames mentioned in Project Info.
Again, taking a cue from Lilybiri's comments in that thread, I added one advanced action at the On Exit of the last slide:
Expression: cpCmndGotoFrame = cpInfoCurrentFrame - 2. (to send last frame count back by 2 frames)
Assign: cpCmndPause with 1 (to pause the last slide, so that the learners can do any other task on the last slide if they wish to)
This solves the problem.
However, is there a way to make this button remain active without using advanced actions? This template will be used by some newbies to Captivate. I feel they might think that assigning advanced actions is complicated task and hesitate to use this one.

I'm trying to make an interactive house simulation game (basic) and hit this issue where the timeline needs to skip to the next segment as several options are available per room (listed one after the other in the timeline). Flash isn't particularly easy to use when it comes to this kind of thing. Is Flash Catalyst CS5 more suited to this?

Sometimes I know I haven't changed anything in the external file. In this case, the supposed conflict seems to be a bug and I overwrite with Lightroom metadata without exception (but with fingers crossed) - that bug has been reported.
Other times however, I have edited the file in an external editor, and its possible that the external editor wants to add some information that may be worth having, or it may be that its lost the original information - this is when its a dilemma:
If I overwrite disk file with Lightroom metadata, I may be losing what the external editor added.
If I overwrite Lightroom metadata with disk data, I may be losing what Lightroom had and the external editor dropped.
This scenario has not been reported as a bug, since I don't know if it is one. If I could see the difference between the two, then I'd know.

Can I remove the logos from the bookmark toolbar?

I really hate the inclusion of the logos on the bookmark toolbar. Can I customize it to remove them? It makes for more clutter and I really don't need reminders of logos I see a million times already;-]

Flash uses the browser connection when it runs in the
browser, so I don't really know but I think it may also be
dependent on the browser... I presume that's part of the reason,
the other part is possibly related to security, I guess. Also, I
don't understand what the harm of leaving it is. Out of curiosity,
under what circumstances would it be essential to remove the

When I added a new contact the screen went black in contacts. I'm not able to access my contacts now. I turned the iPad off and back on, still onlythe black screen appears.

When I added a contact to my contacts, took a picture and added Ringtone, pressed done, the screen went black and I am not able to access contacts. I turned off the ipad but still cannot access contacts.

I don't fully understand what the System Reset does but I've found that it cures many ills. It's easy, quick and harmless:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.
Also, you might wish to download the iPad-2 User Guide. Pay special attention to page 162. Note that this Guide also applies to the iPad-1 with IOS 4.3 except for those functions that are not supported by the hardware.
