Adding a 'minimum hold' option to fft spectrum vi

I wish to add a 'minimum hold' function to the averaging parameters in
the fft spectrum vis in labview in order to display a continously
updating spectrum displaying the running minimum value across a given
spectrum, but am having some difficulty. I have tracked down the code
in sml averaged fft power spectrum vi where the 'peak hold' option
originates, and can see it is all ready there for me to create a 'sml
min-hold vi' from the 'sml peak-hold vi' and just wire the min output
instead of the max output, but I cannot edit these files, I guess
because they are contained within the _nisml.llb? Any advice would be
greatly appreciated.

Hi ramsey,
I have been trying to find the VI's that you mentioneed but don't seem to be able tofind them in my pallettes. I believe they may be from the modulation toolkit in LV 7.1? Is this the setup that you have? Please let me know as there have been some significant changes with the analysis VI's since that revision.

In general you launch Time machine and go back in time to the time you want - select the iPhoto library (by default in your pictures folder) and click restore

What's happening on my iMac? There are two choices of selected start up disks appearance without hold down option key. On the other hand, it start up normally show apple picture when I hold option key.

Welcome to Apple Discussions
First go to *System Preferences > Startup Disk* > select the *Mac OS X 10.5. on Macintosh HD* > click the Lock > hit the Restart button.
Then if the iMac is still having trouble starting up, insert your Install Disk and restart holding the Option key. In Startup Manager select the Install Disk and boot into it, choose your language, skip the Installer and go up on the menu bar to Utilities and open Disk Utility. In Disk Utility select your Macintosh HD and hit the Repair button. Once finished note any errors and what was repaired for future reference. Quit Disk Utility and restart once again holding the Option key boot back into the Macintosh HD and eject the Install Disk.

i have installed windows xp on my macbook(the new one with leopard).
and windows work well.
but when i hold option key at start up, it only show me mac os.
i don't know why.how can i make it show me 2 systems(mac and windows) after i hold option key at start up?

I have Win XP on my Boot Camp as well.... I think possibly that the install didn't go 100% correct... did you follow the booklet step by step?
Whenever I hold down the option key both hard drives show up to ask me which on i would like to start up....

If I remember correctly, Bootcamp needs an NTFS partition for Windows in order to work correctly. This is the default file system for WindowsXP. The Bootcamp assistant tells you during installation that a FAT32 partition already exists and, curiously, gives you the default selection of leaving this intact. You need to ignore that and format using NTFS. If you don't, then Windows wont boot. To convert to NTFS, you will need to run the assistant again and reinstall Windows.
To overcome the problem of data portability between WinXP and OSX, I use a small 30 gig USB external drive formatted using FAT32 as a bridge between the two. Hope all this is useful?

as u can see in my block diagram(attached), i can use statistic to read the RMS value for the data but i cant's use it on the FFT Spectrum (mag-Phase).vi .

I am trying to reset toolbars and am following firefox's help instructions. How do I start firefox in safe mode on a Mac as the equivalent of holding option key whilst starting doesn't open a dialogue box on the Mac?

Thanks Morbus.. I hadn't noticed that but it was already set at Mac. I tried it again and it worked this time... but alas my main problem persists:
My back and forward buttons don't work in Firefox and I've lost all of my bookmarks! I've tried a few of the suggestions but without success at the moment.
Particularly unhelpful are the instructions to back-up your lost bookmarks - which I can't do cos they're lost!!

Fft spectrum (mag-phase).vi: dependencies

Dear,
I'm having trouble using FFT Spectrum vi's. When I'm trying to add them to my vi, I get a 'Add to Project and Update Dependencies' error (see attached).
I can use the VI though.
Each time I open the project I keep getting the window to resolve the dependencies. When done, I save the project but the next time I have to start all over again.
Its like the settings aren't saved?
Can this be solved please?

While upgrading, Hold option key on restart abd receive a imagine of a lock

While upgrading or replacing OS 10.2 to 10.4, I Hold option key on restart and receive a imagine of a lock. Haven't the password to unlock. WHAT TO DO? Please. Any work around, or does anyone know a boss password. The usual haven't worked. Thanks in advance for your time and attention.

Bought Ibook from state of Maine. Yes Bought it. Unable to get the firm password. However in the article link offered by Duane, it refers to bypassing this password by
"1.By any administrator user, as designated in the Accounts preferences (or in Server Admin).
2.Via physical access to the inside of the computer.

Macbook pro stuck boots to "no bootable device found insert boot disk and press any key macbook," and at the same time, booting to the Startup Manager (holding option while booting) will not work either.

Not only will holding Option while booting not work, but all of the other boot tricks (safe mode, single user mode, etc), will not work. I am at a loss. I also don't have an optical drive in this particular MBP. I have an SSD where it once was.

I know you have tried other booting types, but have you tried booting into recovery mode? Cmd+R or internet recovery? By any chance have you recently deleted/resized/changed format to a partition? Even if it was not the main one? Have you installed third party applications that could have messed up your system files? Or some sort of RAID software, Fusion Drive etc.? All of this info will help us to pinpoint your issue quicker and help you. Any change you noticed before this happened (even if it seems small), that you consider worth telling us would be greatly appreciated.
Also, do you have access to another Mac besides this one(preferably)? Or do you have access to a Windows computer (7 or 8 preferably)?
Do you hear the chime before the message appears?

Why is my mac mini server apparently looking for wireless while I hold option at startup?

Besides the Lion recovery partition on my Mac Mini, I have 2 partitions: One with Lion and one with Snow Leopard Server that I often boot from in order to test some things. However, it takes FOREVER at the gray screen while I hold option, until the various startup disks appear.
There is a spinning wheel next to a popup menu button, and the wireless symbol. The Mac Mini is apparently looking for wireless for some specified time, then finally gives up and says, "Ok, here are your disk partitions." This is very annoying, and I would like to know what it is, and how to turn it off. My Mini is plugged into Ethernet.

Are there any Mount points setup or listed in Login Items?
Might try a variation of this from older OSes...
This command adds a delay, in this case 45 seconds, before displaying the Login Window.
defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow StartupDelay -int 45
If the Login Window UI detects that the network servers are available when it starts, it will skip the delay, also if network servers become available before the delay expires, the Login Window UI cancels the delay and displays.

Holding option on boot does not bring up boot selection screen

Holding option on boot does not bring up the boot selection screen, the machine just boots from the previously selected startup drive.
MBP 17 mid-2010.
SL 10.6.7
I created a three partition drive on a Seagate GoFlex 1.5 TB drive. GUID partition table.
Used SuperDuper to clone the drive. Drive is bootable. Booting from drive works using Startup Drive selector, so does not appear to be a drive issue.
I'm baffled. What can I do to fix/troubleshoot?

Are you using a Bluetooth keyboard by any chance, I see that same behaviour at times if so ?
I tend to select the desired boot volume with System Preferences/Startup Disc these days although option should work ...
I have noticed that if you reboot right away the option key often works the second time round which is odd.

When I boot holding option, both Mac and Bootcamp partitions show up, but disappear after 2 seconds.

I recently swapped out my HDD for an SSD in my 2007 MBP. Hardware installed fine. I installed Mountain Lion from a time machine backup (of the same machine). I made the Windows partition in OSX, then installed Windows 7 on the partition it had made. In Windows, I updated Bootcamp to 3.3.
Everything seems to work fine in both OSX and Bootcamp from what I can tell. The problem is, when I boot and hold option to choose my boot drive, both drives appear and then disappear in about 2 seconds. They disappear with a "poof" animation, as if you had dragged an app off of the dock. If I'm fast enough, I can choose the boot drive before it disappears.
I tried once again reinstalling OSX from my last time machine backup (prior to the SSD swap), and the problem persists.
I thought it might have something to do with NTFS 3G and MacFuse, because I'd heard that they cause a bug where the bootcamp partition won't show up under the "startup disk" preferences pane. When I uninstalled said programs, bootcamp showed up under there startup disk options, but the problem persists.
Any ideas?

Actually, this is just getting weirder.
Disregard my edit above. Clicking once doesn't have any effect on the drives. But the drives disappear only coming off of a RESTART from OSX. If I Shut down fully, the problem is solved. Likewise, if the drives have disappeared after a restart and I am forced to turn off the computer by pressing the power button, upon boot up the drives no longer disappear (Regardless of any action I take).
It would seem that the drives are disappearing due to something during the restart process.
Okay: Here are some workflows that might shed light on the situation:
Boot to Mac -> Shut down -> Alt boot : DOES NOT DISAPPEAR
Boot to Mac -> Restart -> Alt boot: DISAPPEARS
Boot to Mac -> Shut Down -> Alt boot -> Boot to Windows -> Shutdown or restart -> Alt boot : DOES NOT DISAPPEAR
Boot to Mac -> Restart -> Alt boot & fast select -> Boot to Windows -> Shutdown or restart -> Alt boot: DISAPPEARS
Boot to Mac -> Restart -> Alt boot & disappears -> Turn power off -> alt boot: DOES NOT DISAPPEAR
So the core culprit is something to do with OSX restart. The method of shutdown during windows doesn't seem to matter.

HT1310 Internet recovery is the only option when I reboot holding option button

I followed all the instructions after my MacBook Air crashed and then flashed a folder icon with a question mark.
But when I startup and hold option button, all I get is 'Internet recovery' and the option to connect to a wifi.
What can I do??

The OS X partition crashed. I recommend you to take the MacBook to an Apple Store or reseller because the disk may be failing.
If you can start up into Internet Recovery, do it. Then, open Disk Utility and check that the drive appears in the Disk Utility sidebar. If so, select it and verify it. If it gives you a problem, try to repair it, format the disk and reinstall OS X.
This may get your MacBook working again, but it's possible that it will fail soon. As I told you, take it to an Apple Store. If you don't have a backup, probably you lost everything

MacBook air rebooting from Find My iPhone Lost Mode won't let me boot up, even when holding Option upon booting up

Using Find My iPhone, I set my MacBook Air I thought was lost to Lost Mode. However, when it was returned to me, upon booting up, it showed a flashing folder with a question mark. After some research I found out you were supposed to hold Option upon boot up. This resulted in a password screen, where I entered the passcode I have entered with Find My iPhone, however I cannot access any WiFi network, as it doesn't show any and being next to my router and putting in the details isn't accepted, and booting up from Macintosh HD just results in a dark grey screen.

I resolved the issue. After launching from Macintosh HD, I held down Shift, and then it prompted me for my PIN, which was the same as the code I entered on Find My iPhone, and then it relaunched and let me log in. I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it seems very inconvenient and not intuitive if it's intended.
