Adding a new e-mail account

Can I add a new e-mail account just to send or forward out messages?  The reason of this is that I do not want these messages downloaded off the server.  I use another (non BB) e-mail client that accesses this account and I want the mail to go there.  When I tried to add this account with a dummy password, BB could not verify it and would not let me add it.  Is there a work around?

Hi there!
If I am understanding you correctly, you want to be able to send from an email account on your BB, but not receive from that account on the BB. If so, then don't use a dummy password. Rather, configure the account properly but then set the default filter to "Do Not Forward" and then nothing will come down to the BB from the Server.

  • Change default name when adding new e-mail account

When I try to add a new e-mail account in MacMail, the populated default name for the user is incorrect.  I have to change it to my name and was wondering where this is coming from and how to remove it.

Did this ever get answered somewhere?  I would like to change mine also.

So the answer to my question is yes - from an old Exchange account that was provided by a previous employer.
    If so, you can't.
You can't merge or transfer contacts that were synced over the air with an Exchange account with another account, and the same for syncing the contacts direct with a supported address book app on your computer. This is how most employers want it.

  • HT3376 i need to add a new imap mail account and Mail automatically creates a pop one. what should I do? thank you

I need to create a new imap mail account in Mail and the program automatically creates a pop one.
    What should I do?
    Thank you for your help.

Hello, on about the second step, it doesn't give you a choice of POP, IMAP, or Exchange? Or does it change it to POP if you choose IMAP anyway?
Who is your eMail provider, the part after the @ sign?

  • I have a new e-mail account so I changed my Apple ID in itunes.  My ipod is still showing the old ID.  How can I change it?

I have a new e-mail account so I changed my Apple ID in itunes.  My ipod is still showing the old ID.  How can I change it?

Go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and tap the Apple ID, select logout. Then login with your new ID
    Note:
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

  • How do I add a new e-mail account?

    Have you fixed it yet?

  • New personal mail account doesn't show up in 'Mail' iPhone 4 - 7.1.2

I've just bought an iPhone 4.
I've created a new mail account and the mail icon shows 3 messages.
Touching the 'mail' icon brings up the usual list of mail services but my new account doesn't appear.
In 'Settings' my new account is there.
Why doesn't it show up in the 'Mail' list?
I just can't find out how to access/use this account - the user manual is no help.
    Help appreciated
    David

    Additional info.
The new account is a personal account in my own domain.
'Mail' obviously recognises it as it shows the 3 messages

  • Set up new e-mail account

I already have an iCloud e-mail account and am looking to open another.  Can someone give me set by set instructions on how to do this?
I keep trying but it isn't working for me.
    Thank You,
    George

You can't just setup another email account, you have to setup a whole new iCloud account created under a different AppleID.
First create a new AppleID attached to a different non-Apple email address, then setup a new iCloud account, and finally create an iCloud email address.
Start here: http://appleid.apple.com/ then follow: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
If an email alias will do, where you get another email address that points to your existing iCloud email account, see: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a

  • I need to put update a new e-mail account on my iPhone 3G

I need to change my e-mail account and provider and any settings so I can get mail. My previous mail provider is inactive now. also I can't update Applications on my iPhone because it still has  my previous information on it.

Microsoft just changed this POP mail item this month - they now allow this with a HOTMAIL PLUS account -
I was finally able to set up my iphone to support my Hotmail Plus email account. I did make a mistake initially which caused it to fail at first so I delete the new account and tried again - here are my steps:
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Go to Mail
    3. Go to Add a new Account
    4. Click Other
    5. Click the POP button - do not leave it on the default IMAP button (this is where I mady my mistake.
Then fill in these values as the prior poster noted:
NAME: Enter your name here, or some other value.
ADDRESS: Enter your full hotmail email address
DESCRIPTION: Create a description such as "hotmail account"
    INCOMING MAIL SERVER
    Host name: pop3.live.com
User name: (enter your full hotmail email address)
Password: (enter your password for this account)
    OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
    Host Name: smtp.live.com
User Name: (enter your full hotmail email address)
Password: (enter the password for this account)
    Under the ADVANCED SETTINGS
Make sure incoming and outgoing SSL is 'ON' - Authentication is set to Password
Pleaes note also that my hotmail account has a couple thousand emails in it going back several years so my iphone started inporting the first 200 - then it stopped, so I had to delete many of them, check for mail again and it imported some more, then I deleted more, imported more, and on and on - and it seems to do it by date, so the oldest messages come in first - justs something to keep in mind.
If you don't have a hotmail plus account - it might be worth the $20 a year to get this access if you use your hotmail alot. It beats forwarding messasges to another email to come into your phone or useing some third party like izy that than has your password info.

  • Adding a new e-mail domain to a postoffice

My company is undergoing a corporate reorganization as of July 1
Hubbard Realty will become Hubbard Commercial. This means that our
e-mail address will be changing from HubbardRealty.com to
HubbardCommercial.com what I need to know from you is there a way to set
up the new HubbardCommercial.com as the primary e-mail account with each
of my users but still allow them to keep all their old HubbardRealty.com
e-mail records and if someone sends an e-mail to HubbardRealty.com. It
would forward to the HubbardCommercial.com account.

In a nutshell, you can add the new email domain in the GroupWise system's Internet Addresses option (the email domain will then be available for the whole system).
Then you have a couple of options and depending if the email format will still the same, it can be done quickly or it will require some labour.
How is the email address formatting now and how will it need to be set? (e.g. it's now [email protected] and will it change into [email protected].. or will you have to use a different format for the email domain, like [email protected]?)
In any case, using nicknames you can add any needed email address to the existing/primary email address given to an account. So it's quite flexible in these matters.
    Cheers,
    Willem

  • I gave my old iPhone to my partner. We reset it and set up new e-mail accounts for her.   But in Settings the iCloud account is still in my name . How do we change this?

I gave my partner my old 3GS.  Everything worked well for a couple of years.  Then a week ago she was not able to use her gmail and yahoo e-mail accounts. With the yahoo account she is being asked to give my ID and password.  We have deleted and restored the accounts.
WHen I look at settings, it appears in ICloud that the phone is still registered in my name?  How do we change this?  In doing so will she lose all her information from the past two years?
We backed up the phone to a pc two days ago.
MY worry is that the backup has the incorrect information so we may get into a cycle of restoring it and not fixing the problem.
    Regards

have you logged out with the old appleID in settings->itunes & app stores ?

  • Restrict creation new e-mail accounts on Ipad2 4.3 does not work..

    Hello everybody
For business use i have to secure the Ipad2. I am using the Iphone configuration utility 3.3 to block some features.
It´s not possible to block the creation of E-mail accounts with this utility. I found out it is possible to restrict on the Ipad itselve using the restrictions option >General>Restrictions...So i have activated this option.
However clicking the envelop on the homescreen it´s still possible to bypass and to add an e-mail account for example gmail on the Ipad ?? I was rather suprised this was still working but perhaps i am doing something wrong.
Do you have any idea what is causing this issue or is it maybe a bug?
    Thanks for your feedback.

Hi. Does anyone know the answer to this? I found this out as well, though my hardening requires me to actually seal off email usage.

  • Adding A Second MobileMe Mail Account?

My wife has a ME mail account. I can't seem to get into the ME website via Safari so she can check her email. Is there a way to create multiple accounts on an iPad so she can also use it to check her email?

Accessing a MobileMe account with the iPad's Mail application is the only way to access the account with the iPad, which is the same with an iPhone or iPod Touch.
I think it can also be done with a different browser, like iCab, but Mail is certainly much better.

  • Adding an additional e-mail account

Has anyone figured out how to add another e-mail account? I want to be able to check msn and school account but I have no clue how to add those. Any advice?

Can you give us some more info - in the setup page (from the settings apps, for mail), I assumed you clicked on the "Add Account" choice, then "Other". At this point you enter your name, email address, password and description. When saved, you get a screen where you choose IMAP or POP and then enter the server info.
Does this not work for you? What problem are you running into and at what point?

I would recommend trying to take the battery out and restart the BlackBerry smartphone.
