Remove the  Preferred Networks from the computer and try to connect the network again...Click Start >> Control Panel >> Network and Sharing Center >> Manage Wireless Networks, here remove all the networks present and close the Window...
Click on Connect to a Network and try to re-connect to your Network, it should ask for your Network Key/Password, enter the correct password/network key and click Connect...
It should connect...Once you are connected you should restart the computer, it should connect to Internet...Check if you are getting any error message.

    Hello -

Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive
I must tell you, I am in the situation that MegsiPhone described and I am confused as to what to do.  Here is what I have done thus far:
    1.  I installed iTunes on my new computer, I wen't ahead and set up a new library file locally, and pointed to my NAS for all the music and movies file in edit>advanced.  From what I recall, when I did I can remember getting a whole bunch of messages about apps, new versions, overwriting.  I don't recall, regadless I dismissed each on and did not override.  Anyway, that's all done now.
    2.  I can tell you that I used to back up three iPhones and an iPod touch to my old PC.  There is a mixture of 4 iTunes ID's with various app purchases, it seems a mess.
    3.  I did plug my phone in, it gave me the error message about syncing only to one computer.  Then I did a back-up and a sync.  I know it did not work right because it took a matter of seconds when I know it should take a lot longer.  Anyway, as a safeguard I am using iCloud back-up for now before I do anything else.
So, what do I do now to make this all right?  I would like to be able to sync mine and my wife's iPhone to the computer.  Should I not bother and just keep my back-up in the cloud and are there disadvantages to this?  For my son's iPhone, I can let him back-up to the old computer, I would assume that would remain good and I would not have any issues.  Should I erase the back-up on my new computer, erase the appss or whatever and start from scratch?  Kind of not sure how to handle, please help.

  • Adding a new pc (laptop) to my BT Home hub(1.5)

    Hi forum readers,
My wife has just purchaed a laptop and wants to connect to the BT Total BB we already have installed.
She has a hotmail email address on this laptop.
I have a desktop pc connected via ethernet cable  and this runs well.
We have one email account ( main account) that we share. We use BT Yahoo Mail/Outlook Express.
The Toshiba Satellite laptop had no problem wirelessly connecting to my BB hub(v1.5) - so far so good.
However when I tried to run the BT Total BB CD on the new laptop it asked me for an email address etc.
Now here is the dilema - can I use the hotmail email address or will it insist on a   xxxx@btopenworld type email address?
Do I have to get a sub-account set up on my hard wired pc and use that on the Toshiba laptop?
Can I use the hotmail account as the email address or will BTBB throw a wobbler?
I am reluctant to try this without confirmation that it will work.
    Any assistance greatly appreciated

    Thanks for the welcome.
I have taken  your advice and tied the BTcd to the washing line - now perhaps you'll tell me how I can bring the wife's laptop into the BT community because as of now all she has is a wireless connection (via the hub) to the  Internet.
As a subscriber to BT Total BB I want both the computers on the Hub to enjoy the same services. Not having the use of the BT cd leaves me up a pole without a ladder.
Now I guess you are an expert so please be kind to this old 'un and explain in words of one syllable how I do this.
I cannot get a BT engineer visit as I live on the IoW and the service is not offered, however I do want someone like yourself to point me in the right direction.
    Any assistance greatly appreciated.

  • Adding Lightroom to new Laptop

I currently have Lightroom on 2 computers. One is an old Laptop which I want to retire. How do I get Lightroom transferred to the new laptop

If this is a serial-number activated LR just install on the new one and uninstall on the old one.  There isn’t a formal activation count, or at least hasn’t been with the serial-number LR, so that is all you have to do.
If it is a CC-licensed LR+PS bundle, then when you install on the third computer, it’ll ask you to activate the other two, which you can do, then only ever log into one of the old ones, again.  CC does keep track but makes it easy to transition to a new set of two computers without having to call Adobe.

  • Adding photographs & organizing onto new laptop

I have recently bought a new laptop and have installed PSE 4.0, which was originally on my old laptop.  Now that it is installed on my new computer, how do I get my photographs (which were also transferred in their Adobe folders) back into the catalog and organized?  I have over 3,000 photographs so I'm trying to avoid having to add and organize each one.

Thank you so much!  I knew there must be a way; I'm glad you showed it to me!!

I know this is probably a very common question, but I've heard too many different answers so I'd just like to make sure I know the correct one.
So I just got a new laptop yesterday because my other one fried.. I just downloaded itunes and was just about to plug in my ipod but then hesitated because I didn't know whether if I would lose all my songs or not. Will I lose my songs if I connect it to the new itunes? Thank You for your help!

    From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

I loaded iTunes on a new laptop. I copied and pasted my albums to a 4G stick and down loaded them to the new laptop. Placing them in, Libraries – Music – iTunes and than in Itunes used File – add file to library. So far so good. For what ever reason one of the CDs would not load onto the stick. I got the orginal CD and loaded directly to Itunes. Now when I look in  Libraries – Music – iTunes it’s not there but it is in and plays in iTunes. What should I have done or should I be doing? Thanks.

It's not a unique situation - happens all the time, smaller hard drives getting filled up.
It's also easy to fix. I just moved my itunes content to a bigger hard drive.
First I made a backup of the itunes database file - iTunes Library.itl. Just in case anything went wrong.
Nothing did go wrong, but I'd have it in case anything DID go wrong. That file holds ratings, playcounts, Date Added, and other metadata.
Second, in itunes change the preferences > advanced tab to tell itunes to put everything on G:
Set the itunes folder location to something like G:Media or G:iTunes
This will affect all FUTURE additions to itunes and not do anything to the existing locations.
Make sure the checkbox for "Keep itunes organized" is NOT checked. I also left the "Copy files when adding" unchecked.
Third, to move all the files to G: without itunes losing the paths, run the File > Library > Organize > Consolidate command. This will need to run a while, so be patient as it copies all the files to the new G: location. This does NOT delete the originals. You will have to do that.
Fourth, make sure everything in itunes is OK and you can play stuff in your library. If you're really cautious you can run a script to check for missing/dead tracks.

  • HT1349 help  I would like to authorize my new laptop for my itunes library  I had 5 authorized computers on my account not sure which ones they were one of the autorized computers has crashed so i want to transfer all of my account history onto my compute

my acct. shows that I have 5 authorized computers for my itunes acct.  not sure which 5 but I do know it is not my new laptop.  our main home computer that I use for managing and adding to my music library may have crashed .  so  I deauthorized all 5 computers (that was my only choice).  I was then hoping to authorize just one computer (my new lap top),  I was then hoping that my entire music library would then show up via my itunes/apple account   where is it ?
How can I transfer my entire itunes acct. history onto my new lap top?  any suggestions?    or how can I recover my music library off of a potentially crashed computer?

You can deauthorise all 5 at once, then reauthorize the one you want.

  • How do I combine an old itune library thats on an external hardrive and a newer library thats on a newer computer into 1 library and keep them on the external hard drive so I won't use up all my memory on my newer laptop

I copied an old iTunes library off my old Toshiba laptop with windows xp and put it on an external hard drive.  I have a newer Microsoft surface pro laptop with windows 8.1.   I have a small iTunes library on my newer laptop.  I want to combine the 2 libraries into 1, add newer podcasts to the combined library daily, but keep it all on my external hard drive, so I don't use all my memory on my surface pro.  I have an older ipod classic that I have all my old library on.  I love it and don't want to stop using it, but want to be able to add podcasts from my 1 library from time to time.  What I usually do is download podcasts for a few weeks then, download them to my ipod.  Haven't done any of this in about a year.  But want to start getting regular with it again.   PS  I'm not very computer savy  Thanks for any help or advice!

This article explains how to open a different library: iTunes: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one. The assumption is that the whole library was copied to the external drive from the old Toshiba laptop, not just the media. If that isn't the case make a new library on the external drive in a folder called \iTunes and move the media inside \iTunes\iTunes Media before adding it to the library.
Once iTunes is using the library on the external drive you can add any content stored on the internal drive to the library by drag & drop or by moving/copying the content into \iTunes\iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes. Make sure the option under Edit > Preferences > Advanced to Copy files to the folder iTunes Media when adding to library is selected. Once complete you can delete the original copies on the internal drive.
Should your library contain duplicates after merging see this recent post on deduping.
If there are ratings, playlists, play counts, or content stored on the iPod classic and not located anywhere else then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
Ideally you should backup your library to a second drive for security. See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a suggested strategy.

Hi. I have set up the trial versions of Photoshop CC 2014 and Lightroom 5.6 (ie the Photography plan) on a desktop that I have added a new drive to with Windows 7. Everything works fine BUT it is an old computer and I'm thinking that it may pack up unexpectedly. These things happen. I want to sign up for the Photography plan but I also have a Windows Vista laptop, and that is old too so I may want to put the apps on a new desktop and a new laptop, having already installed on my desktop. That makes three activations. Am I allowed to do this? Cheers. Paul

You cannot have three activations. It's simply not technically possible. If and when the time comes, you simply deactivate/ sign out on one of the old systems and install on the new one. If the system goes belly up, you contact support to reset your account. No need to make it more complicated than that and overthink it.

  • I registered my new iPhone 5s to my usual Apple ID, however it isn't showing in my devices when I log in. I tried to register it by adding a new device, but it tells me it's already registered to a different Apple ID. I'm really not sure how to fix this.

I registered my new iPhone 5s to my usual Apple ID, however it isn't showing in my devices when I log in. I tried to register it by adding a new device, but it tells me it's already registered to a different Apple ID. I'm really not sure how to fix this. I only have the one Apple ID and the phone is brand new, purchased directly from Apple.
When I check on the phone itself (iCloud and App Store settings) the Apple ID is correct. I'm not sure where else to check.
Whilst setting up the phone, it prompted me to register, which I did. Then when connecting to my laptop through iTunes it prompted me again so I registered again. I even got a confirmation email to the email address associated with my Apple ID that the registration was successful.
How can I add my iPhone 5s to the list of devices on the correct Apple ID?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • My ipod classic will not sync to my new laptop with windows 8. Any suggestions please?

I have an iPod classic U2 Limited Edition. After hours of sorting and searching for lost tunes I finally managed to re-create my music library on my new laptop which runs on Windows 8. However, when I connected my iPod, although it starts the sync process it just stops after a few seconds. My old laptop ran on Vista Home Premium. My current laptop has the latest version of iTunes and the software version for the iPod is 1.2.1 which is also the current version. At this point it is just over half full so I know this cannot be the issue. iTunes recognises the iPod when I connect it.
I have checked some online forums and tried some fixes used by other people but these did not solve the problem
This included running iTunes as administrator and also enabling disk use

    Hey there netsie_1960,
It sounds like your iPod Classic seems to start syncing, but it stops before it actually finishes. I would recommend the troublehsooting in the following article to help resolve USB syncing issues, named:
    iTunes: Resolve USB-related alerts
Try these steps to check the connection between your device or computer. You might need to do only one of these steps to resolve the issue, so test your connection after each step.
See if the cable connection at the device or computer has come loose or unplugged.
Unplug the cable you're using to connect your iOS device from the USB port on your computer, and then reconnect it. Then unplug it from your iOS device, and reconnect it.
Remove any third-party battery packs or cases from the device and ensure that the USB cable is connected directly to the port on the device.
If your Lightning or 30-pin cable is connected to a keyboard, display or USB hub, try plugging it directly into a USB port on the computer instead.
Close any virtualization apps (such as Parallels or VMWare).
These apps may interfere with your computer's ability to communicate over USB if they aren't properly configured, or up to date. If this resolves the issue, contact the developer of the app to see if an update is available.
    Restart your computer.
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If your iOS device displays the Connect to iTunes screen, reset your device and then restore it.
If you're using an accessory or third-party cable to connect your device, try using an Apple cable with the device instead.
Update to the latest version of iTunes if you haven't already.
Disconnect other USB devices from your computer, except for your keyboard and mouse. Then, reconnect your iOS device. If the issue is resolved, reconnect the other USB devices one at a time. Make sure your iOS device is still recognized by the computer after adding back each device.
If one of these steps resolves the issue, but it comes back later, make sure you haven't changed how the device is connected. For example, check to see if you plugged the device into a specific accessory, or used a specific cable that reintroduced the issue.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling
