Adding a "normal" square check box as a Pages 09 bullet?

I would like to add a "normal" check box to my text bullets or image bullets in Pages 09 for more formal documents. The "artsy" check box supplied with Pages 09 is inappropriate for my work. Is there a way of getting or using a normal square check box for pages?

The changes are in the document, not in the program.
When the program will open this hacked document, it will grab the xml instruction as is.
If the syntax is modified as it was from Numbers '08 to Numbers '09, the keywords will change but not the contents.
Its the beauty of XML
I wish to add that I posted this hack because it is not machine dependent.
If you apply it on your machine, the document will behave the same if you open it on an other system.
I would not did that if the document was OK only on its source machine. Not sure of my syntax but I think that you may understand. You may re-phrase it if it's really too odd).
Second addition.
As you saw, there are nine predefined bullets.
If you edit the embedded descriptors you may have nine + nine different bullets. But you may also edit already edited descriptors.
So, if you want to build a really ugly document you may use a huge number of different bullets (Pandora's box is open).

Adding a check box to my page clears the value in a hidden field on page 0

Hello, I hope that someone can assist me. I have a page that has multiple submit buttons on it. When I click a submit button the page refreshes to render the new content. I have a hidden field, and its region is set to one on page 0. Without any check boxes on my page, I can set a value in the hidden field, and it remains there even if I click on any submit buttons. If I put a check box on the page and then press a submit button, the value is cleared in the hidden element which is not desired. I did notice that in this case with the check box, if I refresh the browser the hidden field value is not cleared. Perhaps the page is being rendered differently after the submit because of the checkbox. Does anyone have any ideas of what is happening?

That doesn't sound right. Adding a checkbox shouldn't have that effect. Please try to reproduce this on htmldb.oracle.com so we can take a look or post a screenshot of your relevant page components.

How to get Case Sensitive Check Box at Search Page

I am trying to get case sensitive check box at the bottom of the search page, for that we have to set any propert or we ahve to do anything else.

Have never really thought of it. One thing you need to do is set the Case Insesitive Searching Option correclty in PeopleTools Options. I can't find any other setings. But it might have to do with the fields that are on your Search record. My guess is if any of the Search Fields are of type Character and format Mixedcase then the Case Sensitive check box will be displayed automatically.

now when we select check box depending on the selection of checkbox related values of field come into the 2nd page.

add 1 more field to internal table of type char length 1.
when u want to select particular record set this field to 'X'.

Process to get info from Multiple textboxes and check boxes on a page

Could you help me with setting up a process which selects the data from multiple textboxes and checkboxes on a page and should be pointing to a single table in the database.

Actually the problem is, there are lot of check boxes. And process should be like when a user clicks on, say 7 out of 10 checkboxes, only those values needs to be inserted in a table in database. Actually my "insert all" statement is inserting 7 values and also the other three values as null. I tried insert with 'when' and 'if' but didnt get through. my sample insert statement is as follows. Could you help me here.

Dynamically placing a check box in a page in Smart Forms

Hi all,
hereby i have a requirement in my SMARTFORM page development that i have to place a check box and print some numbers till next to the check in the downwards order
like
CB
   1.
   2.
   3.
   4.
CB
   a.
   b.
   c.
   d.
   e.
   f.
In the above illustration the CB represents the check box and the numbers below vary in a dynamic manner based on the values which come from the Print Program.
And as well the alphabets too vary dynamically based on a criteria from Print Program.
And When the Numbers are filled to a certain Level, The Second Check box as shown in the illustration should accordingly and should come only after the end of the numbers.
If the numbers move on the next page too. the check box also should move dynamically.
I await for a generous help from everyone of you.

I have invoked the old editor and called for the SAP Symbols but only 2 characer symbols only get displayed on my page.
when i insert other symbols
or what you have just mentioned the CHECKBOX has the number <727> it comes on editor line.
but when i do the print preview it does not get displayed.
so what alternative can be found to this.

Check box for activating Page break for each subform in Binding is inactive

Hi,
I am designing a PO layout copying MEDRUCK_PO to a custom form.
I am facing a problem here, as the checkbox for "REPEAT SUBFORM FOR EACH DATA ITEM" in Binding Tab is inactive(display only mode). Also in Subform tab, checkbox for "ALLOW PAGE BREAKS WITHIN CONTENT" is in inactive mode.
I can see the same checkboxes are active in the standard Adobe form on my system.
Can you please help me understanding the issue with it?

Allowing user to click check boxes in any order

Hi,
I'm using Captivate 5.5 to create a training session with our software. On a particular page, our trainer wants me to instruct the user to click every check box on a page. Since there are 10 check boxes, I would like to let the user click all the check boxes in any order, as opposed to clicking them in the same order that I did using the normal training recording.
I've been trying to insert click boxes and assign variables, but then I run into the problem of not being able to show the checkmark when the check box is clicked.
Has anyone run into this problem or tried to created a page where the user can click multiple object in no particular order?

This is perfectly possible with the checkboxes widget, and will be a lot less work than messing with images and click boxes. The big advantage of the checkboxes widget is that it is static, so you do not need to worry about rewinding the playhead which would be the case if you are working with interactive objects. However if you want to offer a 'reset' to the user, or perhaps to return to the slide with the widget, I warmly recommend to download the free enhanced checkboxes widget created by Jim Leichliter, because it allows you to control the variables associated with the widget.
I will not explain extensively how to use it, bit in a hurry because I have to teach in a couple of minutes. But here are some links: first a link to Jim's widget, than to a blog post where I explain the use of the Default Checkboxes widget, and third the explanation of the enhanced version.

Just one last warning: I did not check the maximum checkboxes supported by the widget (you need 10), if necessary however you can insert the widget twice. However never duplicate a widget, nor have them in the same space on the stage.

How do i have a cell calculate only if a check box is NOT clicked (using it if someone is tax exempt)?

It gives me my tax amount based on a tax rate. I have now added a tax exempt check box if the customer is tax exempt. What I would like to do is add to this code so if the check box (called Tax Exempt) returns positive then the tax amount calculates as zero. Is this possible? I am not a programmer so I had someone write this piece out for me but I will not be able to get in contact with that person again for awhile so I am trying to solve this here instead. Thanks a ton!

Inserting a Check Box

I have CS2. This should be an easy thing, but I can't figure out how to do it. I have made a table, and I want to type text and put a check box next to it, and I don't see how to do that. Please help. Thanks.

There are many ways to create a check box (filled or empty).
Fonts to look for include Zapf Dingbats and Wingdings. There are others, but these two are common enough.
Use the Glyphs Pallete to add the dingbats/wingdings. Use the Bullets and Numbering to automate adding them. You can create a new column in the table to hold the check boxes, or you can edit your paragraph style to make the text have a hanging indent for the check box glyph.
Using the paragraph style with a defined bullet is, IMO, the best option for "automating" placement of a check box. Go to the Bullet and Numbering section and change the list type to bullet, click the Add. button, define the font and select the desired glyph. Don't forget to set the indents.

How do I create a check-box matrix question using Acrobat XI Pro?

I would like to insert a question that is a 10 x 10 matrix that allows respondents to select multiple boxes in each row. For example, the "add item > rating scale" feature formats a matrix the way I would like, although it only seems to allow for radio buttons. With this feature, respondents can only select one item per row. Is there any way to use this feature with check-boxes rather than radio buttons? Or a different feature to create a matrix that allows for multiple selections per row?

I created a 30 page Form in Microsoft Word with 20 to 30 check boxes on each page using the Zapf Dingbats Font.
When I used Acrobat XI Pro to automatically convert the form it fails to create usable check boxes.
It worked properly about 3 times on test pages but it will not do it again.
Manually inserting check boxes one by one on 30 pages is mind numbing to say the least.
Why doesn't the software work properly anymore?

I have created a transient variable(boolean ) in exsiting view object .
In search page , i'm showing records in table.I have drag as boolean select one check box to search page table .
when i ran the application , in search page when i'm try'g to select the check box , it is throwing the below error.

Check boxes in alist

Can I make a to do list with check boxes rather than numbers or bullets? I find a check box image in the inspector, but am unable to make it a functional checkbox. I'm used to AppleWorks and checkboxes were easy to implement and worked by simply clicking in the box to change its state.

No, you can't make functional check-boxes in Pages.
But if you still have AppleWorks you can still use that program on your computer!!

How to retain the checking in a check box in pagination

I have check box in all pages, in which i have done pagination.
Wen i check the checkbox and click the next page and check some check box der and wen i come back my checkbox checking is not maintained
How can i maintain the checking of checkbox even wen i go back and forth?
Can anybody kindly help me on this ?

Simply done.
Whenever the checkbox is checked, assign true to a boolean variable that has visibility amongst all pages.

Creating Check Boxes

I created a 30 page Form in Microsoft Word with 20 to 30 check boxes on each page using the Zapf Dingbats Font.
When I used Acrobat XI Pro to automatically convert the form it fails to create usable check boxes.
It worked properly about 3 times on test pages but it will not do it again.
Manually inserting check boxes one by one on 30 pages is mind numbing to say the least.
Why doesn't the software work properly anymore?
