Am trying to find out how to simply add a page to bookmarks. Sometimes pages get added automatically and I am not sure how! I have only had my mac a few months so still learning. Some good features and some frustrating ones. Also how do I do a screen capture simply as I keep forgetting which keys! I need to make a list of these or is there a list of key features/uses online somewhere?

Problem Adding Bookmark to Contents Page??

Hi,
I am trying to create a preface page to my book in iBooks Author. I want this preface page to basically give hyperlinks to all of the seperate chapter TOC's so that the user can click on the name of the chapter, and will be taken to that chapter's contnets page. And will look like this:
With each of the poem titles above, linking to each of the Contents Pages, which look like this:
However, I cannot seem to add any bookmarks to the page directly above, due to it being all placeholder and automatically generated text. Any suggestions as to how I can add a bookmark to this page?

according to what I know this issue is related to how DW works and not to the Developer Toolbox as such -- DW can be a little picky when it comes to the "document structure" it expects, and
(depending what document parts you´re actually "including") won´t let you do certain actions like e.g. adding a server behaviour just because it "thinks" the
(probably "included" ?) body tag isn´t there.

When I 'Add bookmark...' from an RSS page where is my bookmark being added to?

As above please.
For example, there is a tumblr page that I would like to follow so from the address bar on that tumblr page I clicked on the blue RSS icon which then brought up the RSS page for that tumblr.
At the bottom on the right hand side is an option to 'Add Bookmark...', this option is under the Actions menu.
But when I click the option nothing happens! I have looked in all my bookmark menus and folders but cannot find it. I have also looked in Mail to see if it added the bookmark there but cannot find it there either.
I am running version 5.1.5 of Safari and running Mac OS X 10.6.8.
Hope someone can help.

I am running Lion and see no "Add Bookmark" under Actions menu, so I can't quite comment on that except to say it sounds like it's not working.
But, can you not simply "Add Bookmark" in the usual way (from the Bookmarks menu, command-d)?

Help on adding "bookmark this page"

Hello,
I am a complete newbie at web design and am learning it bit by bit. I am creating a webpage with fireworks.
I added a html slice which gives me a "bookmark this page" link on my website. The background color underneath the text is white and i'd like to know how I can change this so it matches the color underneath the box or make it transparent. Hope this makes sense. I appreciate any help and please keep answers very simple so that I will understand.

I hate to burst your bubble here, but you shouldn't be creating an all image web page... it's completely the wrong way to create a website.
You design the comp in FWs, then slice it up so that you can use various parts of the design as background images when you move over to a html editor like Dreamweaver.

If you are a beginner, now is the best time to learn the basics of html and css before you go much further. A page full of images is going to slow down the loading of the web page as well as not being spiderable by the search engines.
For example the 'bookmark this page' link, should be actual text not an image :-)

The endless scrolling technique is far too tedious when trying to add a new bookmark, because the window is simply too tiny. Is there maybe a plug-in that will let me grab the corner of that window and re-size it? Thanks!

I suggest you install the "Add Bookmark to Here2" extension, then you can expand the the list but you will not see the bookmark itself in the list if that is what you wanted. At the top you have three major folders you can select one of them and scroll up and down. Below that you have your most recently used folders and you can select one of them instead and scroll up and down. You can see the folder the bookmark is in -- they get added to the bottom
If you really want to see the bookmark within the folder the same extension allows you to bring the bookmark to the folder from say the bookmarks sidebar that is why it is named as such. I use it but mainly i use the dialog.

If you are not using tags at all, you can remove a whole lot of confusion by removing them from the dialog via the extension.

Adding a Bookmark into a Page Layout document

I cannot insert a bookmark into a Page Layout doc? Only a word processing doc? Garsh that doesn't seem right at all. But the bookmark Plus button and the Insert Menu option are grayed out unless I create a word proc doc - nope I need a layout doc. Help.
Can't search yet - due to site maintenance.

I disagree that the word processing mode was added in iWork '08/Pages 3. Pages 1 & 2 had the default text layer as does the word processing mode. In every way it continues to function just as the single mode available in the prior versions. When page layout mode was added that default text layer was removed requiring the user to put in some type of object - text box, graphic, table, etc. - before text could be entered.
I think of page layout more like AppleWorks' draw, it's a blank slate. Pages' word processing is like AppleWorks word processing in that you can switch to an object mode & place text boxes, etc. as floating or place them inline. I think the Pages programmers added the mode because there were so many posts/complaints with users not understanding that the text layer was always there.

My bookmark feature is not working. I click the star button, and it does the animation showing a bookmark added, but it doesnt turn blue or bookmark page...

it used to work fine, but now it does.. Some websites will bookmark, but most will not... Like I said in the question, when I click the STAR button it does the little animation showing bookmarking, but it does NOT turn blue, and the page I am trying to bookmark is not showing up in my unsorted bookmarks list or anywhere else.. Adding a Bookmark to a Pages document created from a template

No matter what I select, the "+" button to add a bookmark from the Inspector remains grey and unclickable. When I create a document from scratch, this is not the case. How do I place bookmarks in documents created from a Pages template? I look forward eagerly to y'all's help!

It has to be in that default text area, nothing else is scanned, same applies for T.O.C.
You can copy and paste over your text from one mode to the other.
If you use Layout breaks etc in a WP document you can create a newsletter template.
Personally I avoid Layout mode as it is the poor cousin in both features and programming time spent by Apple.

How to automate the adding of page numbers to bookmark and how to export bookmarks?

I am using Acrobat 9 Pro (not aware of any miningful reason to upgrade).
Also, if someone knows about a decent application that is capable of combining PDFs into a PDF file of size larger than 2GB that would be highly appreciated.
Acrobat can combine but can't save files larger than 2GB...

Adding a "page" to Home

When I got the Incredible2, it had pre-set "pages" on my Home - weather, messages, favorites, calendar etc. I accidentally deleted one of the pages and when I tried to add, it only added as a widget rather than a whole "page". How do I add again?

Thank you for your inquiry. As a suggestion, perhaps a good way to re add the web page to your phone to is by adding it back as bookmark. Also on the Widgets, you could pinch it to make it zoom in to see it the whole page displayed on the phone itself.
You can store as many bookmarks as you want on your phone. You can also access a convenient history list of the sites you have visited, or quickly view the pages that you access most often. To book mark a webpage while viewing it, press MENU, and then tap Add bookmark. You can also edit the bookmark name if needed before adding it. Adding New Data To Same Page - HELP

I am trying to put together a invoice on the fly, the products are added to the invoice by selecting the disired product from a drop down menu and hitting the add button. You SHOULD then be able to select more products from the same drop down menu and htting add again will include it in the invoice.... simple?? Well the problem i have is that when i hit the add button to add another item it just replaces the one i have already added.... this is very annoying... i cannot think of a way to take the product data through the form submission ready for adding too.
Any Ideas this is really bugging me, and the more time i spend on it, the worse its getting. Code Below

Is there a way in Pages to show and print all the added "comments?" (those you add by highlighting text) I'd like students to be able to view my comments on printed version of their papers.

Is there a way in Pages to show and print all the added "comments?" (those you add by highlighting text) I am a teacher, and I would like students to be able to view my comments on printed versions of their papers. I know word displays the comments off to the side of the document, and those comments can be viewed all at once and printed alongside the document.

There doesn't appear to be a way to print conmments in either Pages or Numbers in the Mavericks versions.

Issue with adding a new value to the Default Login Page

Hopefully this is an easy one guys, I've added a select list item to the standard login page (P101) to allow the user to select a DOMAIN as well as entering their username and password.
When the next page is displayed and I try to retrieve the value held in the new field it has been cleared, but the values entered into items
P101_USERNAME and P101_PASSWORD are still present.
I can't figure out why the values held in items P101_USERNAME and P101_PASSWORD are still present but P101_DOMAIN has been cleared.
I've tried creating a value on page zero and writing the domain value to it using pl/sql and javascript but as soon as the next page is requested the value is cleared.
Any Ideas how to get around this????

I suppose your login page contains a process like this:

please note the random number assigned to you. Once you login, the same number will appear on the page 1 (near to the top).
So, that is how you could solve your problem.
   :t_random_numberis an application item.
