I am a new user in J2ME.
i want to insert a picture in my application.So the file is image_bw.png
in which directory in the windows should i put it?
Where is /image_bw.png ?
How much should be the size of the picture in cm.
Image im = Image.createImage((display.isColor()) ?
"/image_color.png":"/image_bw.png");

I designed a web site and added 7 pictures (all together 800kb) with layer stack and blending options.
The svg file was 320kb now it' apx. 6mb ...
how to get the file smaller?

You can scale down images to make the file sizes lighter.
Are you using the Clipping Frame (Insert > Media Objects > Clipping Frame) to add images to your file? If so, follow these steps to resize an image. If you are just working with an image in the workspace, without the clipping frames, just use steps 5 and 6 to downsample an image.
1. Double-click on a clipping frame image to enter into editing mode. The percentage indicator on the sliding magnification bar will tell you if the source image is large (12% is a very large image!).
2. Ensure the image is selected and click the Copy button.
3. Exit image editing mode by returning to the Sheet level by clicking in the document breadcrumb.
4. Paste the image into the document. It will be very big on the stage.
5. Scale down the down to a smaller size by grabbing a corner handle and scaling the image, or using Transform and adjusting the WIDTH AND HEIGHT percentages. (Conveniently, if you input 12% into the Width or Height box (while keeping the Lock Aspect Ratio option selected) the image scales down to the same size as the clipping frame you were using previously.)
6. Double-click the image again to enter into Bitmap Image mode and select Transform > Downsample to Screen.
7. Select the image and click the Copy button, then delete the image from the stage.
8. Double-click to get back into your clipping frame.
9. Select the image already in the frame, and delete it.
10. Click the Paste button to insert the new image into the clipping frame. It should display a better percentage such as 98 or 100%.
11. Save the file. You should find the file size to be much smaller now.
OK, looking over that now it is quite the list of things to do to optimize images for the screen. Hopefully there will be an easier way to downsample or optimize images for screen and print in the next coming releases.

IMovie - adding a picture (without black frame below) in the very bottom of a video

Hello iMoviers,
I'd like to add a picture on top of a movie. As far as I understand this can be done by using iMovie's picture-in-picture feature. The picture, however, is centered in a black frame.
1) How can I position the picture on the ver bottom of the video, so that there's no black frame below or let's say the picture is not centered anymore?
2) How can I get rid of the black frames and instead have the video placed below shining through? I saw some green screen approaches, but it seemed to be very tedious workaround.

depends on the version of iM you're using:
in older versions, the pic-in-pic was limited: it allowed only to insert content with the same aspect-ratio as the project itself = 16.9 .... if the pic was square, iM added 'borders' to make it fit.
Work-around:
make your pics 16:9 by adding transparency, read this in the UseR Tipp section of this board:

or, update to latest iMovie10 ....
here, a diff. aspect ratio of pic has no 'borders' -effect; .....

Adding a pictures block

ok so I am doing a "blog" page, and in order to get a small picture to show up next to the description of the blog I have to use the default "place holder"...that's fine, but instead of showing the rest of the pictures from that day on a seperate "pictures page" can I not in clude the "pictures drop block" on the actual entrie for that days blog page. I have tried to drag over an album, but when I drop it on the blog entrie page, the template comes up and asks me to choose a pictures page template, I just want those album shots on the same page as the blog entrie

I don't know if my suggestions gonna work with your current workflow, but I really hope so. I was trying to figure out what you really mean. Based on my simple understanding is you want a part of your text to be highlighted, but your problem is that you don't want to add extra boxes right in your layout since you gonna have problem when text is being added in your layout, and boxes don't work when you re-flow your text since you are placing them behind your text frames.
Well, I suggest you use a Character Style as a Highlight to a particular words, or paragraphs you have in your layout. See my screenshot. I created a separate Character Style in every highlight I made or color that I wanted.
Just try to adjust Weight, Offset, to fit your working preference.

Geotagging and adding the Picture to Map

Ok, so first lets get to Geo-tagging. I turned it on. Never used this feature before in any of my phones, but considering the time it takes for the phone to get a satellite fix, how does this work on the phone?
And I was wondering if there was a way to add pictures to the maps? Or at least for Landmarks? Can't seem to find the option.

Do I have to add the picture to the cameraroll in order to add it to the AIR apps display list?
Both examples from Adobe claim that their examples work. Do they not?
In the example, the event handler asyncImageLoaded is never called. The output text field shows - result_txt.text = "Asynchronous media promise."; So the Event.COMPLETE is being added. But I don't think it's being dispatched.
Any ideas?

Iphoto and adding slideshow pictures...

Hey everybody,
So I have a slideshow together and it is perfect pretty much the only thing is that I need to add another piture and when I try to add it I drag it to my hard disk and then into my slideshow and it always turns up double. Then when I go to delete one picture the other one is automatically deleted along with it. What am I doing wrong?! Thanks so much in advance.

Is this slideshow made in iPhoto? If so, why are you dragging the pic to your HD. Just drag it from the iPhoto Library (Top left, in the Source Pane) to the the Slideshow icon, also in the left hand pane.

Image conversion failed adding profile picture

I just finished my first test install of a Basic Teaming 2.0 site on SLES 11 64bits with SUN's JDK v. 1.6.0_17 and MySql 5.1.39, which went ok. However, when I login and try to add a picture to a profile an X-like image is diplayed instead and I get the following error in the ssf.log file:
WARN [http-8080-2] [com.novell.teaming.docconverter.impl.ImageStellent Converter] - Image conversion failed for testpic.gif: (127) Can't find resource for bundle com.outsideinsdk.ExportResources, key 127
I have not been able to find any info about this in the Doc or forums.
Any ideas?

I got your email and as you suspected, your image works fine on a system
that does work.
You mention a "conversion failure". What kind of visual indication are
you getting of that failure? Is anything at all getting posted to the
catalina.out log?

Hi Jose,
Go to MM02 Material Master Change Mode and in Menu bar Select System - Services for Object.
This option will allow you to Create an attachment to Material master.
Revert back in case doubts.

Was it formatted MAC OS extended (get info in Finder will tell you). Worth checking but I doubt if this is the answer.

This is probably not a problem for the final movie it is just a resource problem with our Mac. Quit any other applications but it may not b enough. The most likely solution is to clear the system caches using MacSweeper which you will find (free download) on http://mac.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Mac-Sweeper.shtml
it has good help messages. When it asks for authentication give your system password. You might also like to try its weekly monthly and daily scripts.

Transfer only added new pictures to the computer.

In the past I was able to connect my iphone to my computer and when I was going to transfer the pictures. It only transfered the pictures that were taken after my last transfer.
For example
I take 3 pictures transfer them to the computer.
Take 10 more pictures but in total I have 13 pictures in the iphone I connect my iphone to the computer and transfer ONLY the new 10 pictures.
PROBLEM
Now it transfer ALL the pictures.
How can I put it the way it was before?

What kind of computer and operating system are you using? If you are using a PC, and you are using the import pictures feature of Microsoft, if you leave pictures on the camera roll (Which is a very bad idea. If you have trouble with the phone, you risk losing them.) and the month has changed, the PC will sync them to a different folder. That folder would be empty, and because of that, it would sync all of the photos. The best thing to do is once you have imported the photos to the PC, delete them from the iPhone and if you want to put them back on the iPhone, sync them through the Photo tab.

When adding new pictures in an album the pictures do not show in the live site

I save the site and then publish changes but the new images do not show - any ideas???

Thanks Old Toad - have tried that already.
In the Site Publishing Settings the ftp site, username and password are all correct - but the Directory/Path field is blank - I can't remeber if there was ever any content in it before, and as a world class no hoper when it comes to technology I don't know if this could be affecting the upload?
