Adding a print button on a slide?

Hi
I have had a request to add a print icon button on each slide of the programme I am creating. They want it possible for the user to print any of the slides if deemed they wish.
Is this option available in Captivate 5.5? If so how do I do this?
Thanks

Hi again
I have finally got around to inserting my print button, but I have chosen to have no text but still a white tect box can be seen at the bottom of the icon. (See attached)
Any ideas how I can get around this?

  • Adding a print button, a "download" PDF button and a navigation bar in a SWF created by InDesign

I can't find a way to add "PDF features" on a SWF file exported from InDesign CS5.5 such as:
    - a print button
    - a download PDF button
    - a navigation bar (outside of the pages)
edocker provides these features but it is pretty expensive and does not allow a lot of customization.
Would anyone have an idea of how to do it ?
    Thank you.

eDocker actually allows you to use all the interactive features you can create in InDesign. It kind of "wraps" your exported SWF into a user interface with all those 3 elements asked + more (zoom for instance)

  • Adding a print button to iProcurement Requistions View page

    Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to add a print button or link to all requesitions that have been approved . This button/link need to invoke a custom Oracle report passing the relevant parameters in this case the requisition number.
I have seen a post whenin tapash has explained how to invoke a report . But what Ineed to know is whether I can add the link/button by personazilation and if so after doing so how to invoke the report.
    Thanks

I thought you had to put the button/link on top of the page, looks like you want it at row level. This makes it more simple, you donot need to extend the controller you can just use personalization and do it. Here is how you do it,
    - add the button/link using personalization
    - while setting the destinationURI property you need to add a parameter to pass the requisitionId
for example if you need to launch the page http://www.yahoo.com then you need to set the destinationURI as
    http://www.yahoo.com&requisitionId={@<viewAtrribute>}
where the viewAttribute represents the viewAttribute name from which the requistionId filed derives it's value. You will be able to find the view attribute name easily using About this page. If you expand the page structure in About this page you should find the viewAttribute mapped to the requisitionId field in the table.

  • Adding a Print button to a Flash movie

Hi. I've created a Flash movie and now want to add a simple
print button to it - one that will just bring up the users default
    print dialog box.
I've created a new layer, highlighted the first frame and
dragged a print button in from the library.
When I press F9 to bring up the Actions pane, selected the
Print section all that comes up is print(). Can somebody tell me
what other code I need to add? I'm pretty new to Flash but getting
there, but the ActionScript is baffling me - I'm a designer, not a
    developer!
    Many thanks.

If Flash 8, try looking into the printAsBitmap function. It
might be what you are looking for.
For AS 3.0, try the PrintJob class.

  • Adding PRINT Button on a List Item Page

    Hi,
We have an existing custom list for our asset tracking. We are required to make the list item's page printable by adding a "PRINT" button on it. Currently, a list item's page has a "Close" button together with the following tabs such as: "New Item", "Edit Item", "Delete Item", "Manage Permissions", and "Alert Me". "Print" button should be like the "Close" button. Once the "Print" button will be click then a "Print" window will appear to select the printer to use. It will print only the list item's content and not the whole page.
Is there anyone who implemented as what describes above? Please help me how to implement this.
    Thank you in advance.

  • How to add Print button on Webhelp in Robohelp 10?

Can someone please provide step-by-step instructions to add Print button on Webhelp. I'm currently using Robohelp 10. I saw some suggestions using javascript in skin, but there isn't a step-by-step procedure available.
I have been seraching for this from past many days. It'd be of great help to me. Thanks!

Thank you very much for your quick reply. It was really helpful. However, I still can't see the button the webhelp output.
    1. Created a new skin
    2. In the new skin, I added this print button and followed all steps explained (adding inline javascript and calling the function in the action tab under onClick, etc)
    3. I could see the preview of this being perfectly fine.
    4. But, when I generated the output by compiling it again, I could not see the changes I made in the webhelp
    4. I am thinking I am missing a crucial step. Is the new webhelp using the new skin? How to know this?
    5.  I carried out all the steps as explained, except this "Don't forget to tick the Print button in the second page of the wizard". Could you please let me know which wizard this is and where is the check box to tick the print button?
I am eagerly waiting for your answer. Thanks!

  • Help on print button for interactive report

    Hi,
I have created an interactive report and have also added a print button on the button of the report (unfortunately forgot how I did it). Say my column on the reports was Col_No, Col_First_name, Col_Last_name and a print button when I pressed a would get to choose open or save a pdf file, if I opened or saved it, I would had the same info on my pdf report as above.
Since I have changed the column order meaning I have Col_No, Col_Last_name, Col_Start_Date, Col_First_name and that is working fine but when I click on the print button I will get the pervious columns.
I noticed I have created a branches to print the report, basically after processing, when button was pressed an action with f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=6259824360775969936:&DEBUG.::: is present.
I need help to fix this and I do very much appreciate any help or suggestions

    Found the answer, thanks.

  • Invisible Text Fields/Print Button error

Ok, so I'm creating a blank form for users to input data fields and then print them out on a pre-made paper form. I started out using Adobe Designer 7.0.
While I was using 7.0, I made all of the Text Fields, and spent hours lining them up to print out correctly in their corresponding boxes on the pre-made paper form that we load into the printer. (Already tried scanning the form and creating a form that way, but the scanner is weird and scales everything incorrectly.)
I upgraded to Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES today so that I could make Text visible on the form, but not visible when it prints, so that I can label each Text Field, otherwise it's just a blank template with random Text Fields all over.
Well, after upgrading, I created the Texts prompts above each Text Field and I selected Visible (screen-only) for each one of them, hoping that once I printed the form out, those texts prompts won't print out on the pre-made paper form. But, to my dismay, they printed out even though I selected the option for them to NOT print out.
So I was doing some reading and decided to add a "print button" to my form. I added the print button. Made it visible (screen-only). Printed out another form, and BAM. All of the hours I spent lining up those Text Fields went to waste because all of a sudden my Text Fields are all over the paper. I immediately removed the print button, assuming that was the problem, but for some reason my text fields are still all over the paper.
I don't want to spend the hours and hours I spent lining them up again. It just took too long. Does anyone know what happened here? If so, how do I fix it?
Also, how do I make it so that the Text prompts I created do NOT print when I print out the form?
I'm sure this is all an easy fix for you experienced ones. I'm a noob... obviously...

Thank you for the help, but I'm still not really sure what I should be doing here. I went to form properties, but didn't see any kind of settings that would fix what I'm having problems with. I'm using Adobe Designer ES 8.2.1 now, but for some reason when I make my text Visible (screen-only), it still prints out when I click print. This shouldn't happen and I can't figure out what's wrong. I've reasearched all I can, but can not find a solution.

  • Ideas for Adding a Quick Print Button to VA01 Overview Screen

    Problem Statement:
Our users would like a "quick print" button on the VA01/VA02 application toolbar that immediately spools the Order Confirmation output to the printer.  Our users want to print the output on demand, i.e., they do not want the output to automatically be printed when the order is created because a printout is not always needed.  We already have condition records created with Dispatch Time set to 3 - Send with application own transaction.  However, it takes 7 or more clicks to print the output on demand by navigating the menu (Extras > Output > Edit...Further Data...etc.) and changing the Dispatch Time to 4 - Send immediately when saving.  This is a big ergonomic issue and a time killer.
Although the number of clicks to print are less when printing the output from the VA02 initial screen (via menu Sales document > Issue Output To), this is not acceptable when creating new orders.  Really need an on-demand, quick print button on the VA01 screen.  As an aside, we have a totally custom transaction for preparing sales order data (shopping cart-like way of finding materials and entering required data) that then calls VA01 and fills in all of the information.  When saving in VA01, the user is returned to our Z-transaction so asking the user to subsequently run VA02 to print is not practical.
    Current Output Determination:
We have custom output type ZBS0 (copy of BS0).  Condition records for print medium are set to Dispatch Time = 3.
    Questions:
    1.  Searching these forums, it appears custom code (extension or user exit?) can be written to call RSNAST00, or something similar, to automatically send output having a Dispatch Time = 3.  Where can I find more information on exactly how to do this?
    2.  Do transactions VA01 and VA02 (Overview screens) have extensions that allow a print button to be added to the application toolbar?  We would want to call the custom printing code from the button to send the output.
Any feedback on how others have solved this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    Warm Regards,
    Rob
P.S.  Using GuiXT is not an option for us.

    HI
We had similar issues with printing packing list and picking list by the warehouse people.
We created a new ztransaction with input fields of delivery number, output type, number of copies and a check box for repeat output(in case if the output was already printed).
You can also create a new Z-transaction with input fields of Sales order number(mandatory field), output type (Default it with value of ZBS0), number of copies (default it with 1) and a check box. On executing the transaction You can provide a message if the output was already printed so that the user can select the check box to repeat the output and execute. You can also print multiple SO by giving a range value if required.
If you do not want the user to enter the new ztransaction every time, try providing a menu path to the new z-transaction from the existing z-transaction which you are using for order entry.
    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks,

  • Ideas for Adding a "One Click" Print Button to VA01 Overview Screen

I am not an ABAP developer and am doing some preliminary functional investigation to determine the best way to add a simple "one-click" button that allows a Sales Order Confirmation output to be sent to the printer.
Can someone that really knows, tell me whether or not a custom menu item can be added to VA01 and VA02?
I have seen lots of threads telling folks how to find user exits and menu exits for a program so I don't need that advice.  Rather, looking for someone who has already investigated this for VA01 and VA02 and knows the answer.
Although the number of clicks to print are less when printing the output from the VA02 initial screen (via menu Sales document > Issue Output To), this is not acceptable when creating new orders. Current Output Determination:
We have custom output type ZBS0 (copy of BS0). Condition records for print medium are set to Dispatch Time = 3.
    Ideal Solution:
Add a Print Icon to the application toolbar as described above.  From the button, write custom code that calls RSNAST00 (or is there a better way?) to send the output to the printer.
Any feedback on how others have solved this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Still looking for input from anyone that has had experience trying to add a menu item or toolbar button to VA01.  In our case, for sending output.
    Madhu,
Please again read my Problem Statement in my original posting for the business requirement.  We are using ECC 6.0.  Yes, I know that transaction VA02 has Sales Document > "Issue Output To" that allows you to print.  However, we want to be able to print from the VA01 Overview screen after all of the sales order information has been entered.  We would like to be able to click a print button which would save the new sales order and immediately issue the output.  Again, we do not want the output to automatically print for every new sales order - we want to be able to print only when needed.  The conditions that a sales person would use to decide to print a copy are too numerous or varied so they cannot be automated in a condition record.  Of course we do use condition records for creating the output but we do not send immediately on save.
When creating a sales order, the sales person does not want to do the extra clicks and key strokes to then navigate or open a new VA02 session to print from the VA02 initial screen.  And as described in my original posting, it is a lot of clicks navigate the VA01 Extras > Output menu to change the output to print on save.
If you observe the "day in the life" of a sales person and see all of the key strokes and clicking required to create an ECC 6.0 sales order, you understand why the extra 7 to 11 clicks to just print an output is very annoying.  We have created a totally custom Z-transaction that allows our sales folks to capture everything need for a new sales order all on one screen with no tab views.  We then launch VA01 to fill in all of the data entered in our custom transaction.  This all works very well and is a huge time saver for our sales staff.  Now we are looking to save a few more clicks by simplifying the printing.

  • Adding "home" button to every slide

I have a 50+ slide Captivate document and I'd like to add a
"home" button on every slide without having to paste it into every
one. Any way to do this? Is there a master slide or something I can

    Thanks!

Hi wfz and welcome to our community!
Unfortunately you don't have a lot of choice in placement of
these beasties. So you either use what you have or develop a
workaround. I'm thinking you will perhaps need to insert a button
object on each slide that is labeled "Home" and points to the
    appropriate slide.
You should also consider submitting a WishForm asking the
developers to provide us more flexibility in placing the existing
menu. You may do this by
    clicking

  • Print Button Derived From a Select List Is Not Working

    Hello,
I followed the instructions "Creating a PDF Report from Derived Output Format" http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/apex/apex31nf/apex31rpt.htm#t2
    Steps
In order to derive the output format, you need to create an item that contains the list of formats to select from. Perform the following steps:
    1. Under Items, click the Create icon.
    2. Click Select List.
    3. Make sure Select List is selected for Select List Control Type and click Next.
    4. Change the Name to P<#>OUTPUTLIST and click Next.
    5. You need to specify the list of output types for the report and the bottom of the page. Select the Create or edit static List of Values
    6. Enter the following values and click Apply.
    Display Value Return Value
    PDF PDF
    Word RTF
    Excel XLS
    HTML HTM
    XML XML
    7. Select No for Display Null Option and Click Next.
    8. Change the Label to Output Format and click Next.
    9. Enter PDF for the Default and click Create Item.
    10. Now that the list of output formats is created, you need to change the Output Format when the Print link is selected. Under Regions, select the Print link.
    11. Under Printing, select Derive from Item for Output Format and select the item you just created P<#>OUTPUTLIST for Item and click Apply Changes.
    12. Click Run Page.
    13. When the report is displayed, select Excel from the list of Output Formats. Note: In Oracle Application Express 3.1, the XML format was added
    14. At the bottom of the report, select the Print link.
    15. A window appears asking you which program you want to open the Excel file with. Click OK (or Open depending on what browser you have) . Excel is open and the report is displayed. Close the Excel window.
    16. You can also create a button to produce the report based on the output format rather than clicking the Print link at the bottom of the report. Click Edit Page.
    17. Under Buttons, click the Create icon.
    18. Accept the default and click Next
    19. Select Create a button displayed among this region's items and click Next
    20. Enter P<#>_Print for the Button Name, enter Print for the Label and Request and select HTML Button for Button Style. Then click Create Button
    21. The region printing link contains the id of the region. Since you want to invoke the print from a button instead of the link you need to create a branch and specify the FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R### parameter in the Request field for the Action so the application knows what to do when the Print button is pressed. Under Regions, select the Print link.
    22. Ctrl-C the FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R### section of the Print URL field. Since you are going to invoke the print from the button, you can remove the Print in the Label Link field and click Apply Changes.
    23. Under Branches, select the Create icon.
    24. Accept the default and click Next
    25. Enter the current page for the Page and paste the FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R### parameter that you copied into the Request field and click Next.
    26. Select P<#>_PRINT for When Button Pressed and click Create Branch
    27. Click Run Page
    28. Select XML for the Output Format and click Print.
If I use the link at the bottom of the report region when I set the print options on the print tab of a report, it will print out in both pdf and rtf formats. I get an error with the Excel format. The print button isn't even working. When I select the button, nothing happens.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello Andy,
I ended up putting in a ticket with Metalink. It is a known bug it seems. This is what the rep said:
    UPDATE
    =======
These bugs are fixed in the next ApEx patch 3.1.2. Patch 3.1.2 is expected (tentatively) in 2 weeks at the
    earliest.
The bug fixes for these bugs have been backported to 3.1.1 and the one-off patches (patch 7202883 & 7156139) can be downloaded from metalink. One-of
f patches do not undergo the normal full regression testing, as is done for the
    full APEX 3.1.2 patch set.
Once 7202883 and 7156139 were applied, I was able to download in all formats.

  • Print button on Web report.

    Hi gurus,
We were trying to add a print button on Web report for printing the result area on the Web report.
We followed the steps which has given in the How-to-guide How To Web Printing with Microsoft
    Excel document.
In the document it has mentioned that
    1. Support package should be above 19 for BW 3.5 version
    2. Add HTML code in the WAD Template
    3. Import Transport file into the System.
    4. Apply OSS notes 736568 and 737082 to BW
We upgraded the support package to 22, added the html code in the WAD template, imported the transport file into the BW system and applied the OSS notes as per the mentioned in the document.
The transport file contains the Package u201CZPK_WEB_PRINTING_WITH_EXCELu201D and ABAP Classes u201CZCL_RSR_XLS_GRIDu201D,
    u201CZCL_RSR_XLS_HELP_WINDOW_PRINTu201D,

    u201CZCL_RSR_XLS_ITEM_TEXT_ELEMENTSu201D,
    u201CZCL_RSR_XLS_TABLEu201D
After import the transport file into BW, some of the objects in the ABAP Classes were not activated. I was trying to activate manually but those were not activating.
Please guide me how to resolve the above issue or is there any way to get the printing the web report?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Print button issues.

    Hello everyone,
In order to 'flatten' our pdf forms so that they cannot easily be modified, we have decided to print all of our completed forms to a virtual .pdf writer. Now, we could have all of our users click file-->print-->select 'cutePDF Writer' from the printer drop-down-->hit OK-->Type in a file name for the new .PDF-->hit OK... but I was hoping that I could make their lives easier by adding a button to do most of this for them.
After scowering the depths of the internet, I found this script that I've added to the click event of a button:
    var objPrintParams = event.target.getPrintParams();
    objPrintParams.interactive = objPrintParams.constants.interactionLevel.silent;
    objPrintParams.printerName = "cutePDF Writer";
    event.target.print(objPrintParams);
This effectively handles everything up to 'Type in a file name for the new .PDF' step... but there are some issues.
The first is that some of our users may not have cutePDF installed. As it is, the script doesn't throw an error if the printer does not exist. Without the printer installed, clicking the button seems to have no effect. Both pre- and post-print events fire as if the printing worked, even though it didn't. I would like to have a helpful message for the user, but I can't think of a way to check if it failed. If I could get a list of printers, I could check it before trying to print... but event.target.printerNames(); doesn't work, and that was the only thing that i could find to list printer names.
The second issue is that a message is displayed to inform the users the the document is trying to print. "This document is trying to print..." I get that this is a security measure, but the user is pressing a button called print, and having to click a second time may get annoying. Additionally, if they click no by accident, this response is stored until they restart reader... clicking the print button again does nothing.
Ultimately, I'd like to get rid of this message... but if I can't do that, I'd like for it to show each time that the user presses it, both for consistancy, and to allow them to change their minds without having to close out reader, losing all of the filled fields that they entered.
I know that this might be asking the impossible, but I would appreciate any help with this.
    - Scott

In the designer, highlight the print button. On the Object palette locate the presence dropdown (near the bottom of the palette). Change the pressence to "Visible (Screen Only)".
