Adding a repeat in GarageBand

I was wondering if there is a way to add a repeat. I do not want a loop that continues indefinately. I want an actual repeat.
I want it to go through let's say 5 measures, repeat those five measures and then continue to measure 6.
Thank you.

Option drag also copies the part. Select the part and , holding the option key down and mouse button, drag it to the new section then release the mouse.

  • Adding / deleting loops - where Garageband is relevant....

All - this is a question involving Garageband, but only because I have heard Logic will "inherit" GB projects, so I'm assuming (not having bought it yet, pending this question possibly), that Logic operates its loops area the same way.
I stumbled on this (archived) thread....
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1896042
... trying to find out why I couldn't:
    a) delete a loop folder that I added:
I know where the Library\Audio\Apple Loops\User Loops folders are, and have
    - deleted a couple folders I dragged to the Loop Browser,
    - deleted the index files, etc,
...but there is still one folder showing up in the "User Loops" menu section, and all its files, and this folder is NOT in the above Library\Audio\Apple Loops\User Loops folder path. Where is it, and its files?
Also, I thought I read that you could delete individual loop files just using the Delete key. That doesn't respond either, but it could be because I'm using a Windows keyboard.
    b) see other loop folders show up that I tried to add:
After seeing two folders show up that I dragged to the L.B., no other folders dragged will show up, in the browser or in the Library\Audio\Apple Loops\User Loops folder/area. I tried
    - copying a folder full of files (these are all .wav files by the way) to the
    above ...\User Loops path, then
    - dragging that to the L.B., which started a "Garageband is reindexing... "
message... but it never showed up in the L.B., nor did it make a new index
    file.
All very odd and inconsistent. If Logic uses the same sort of loop add/delete browser functionality, it's doubtful if I'm going to buy it, if I can't even get this problem solved. I need to be able to use my own drum loop files, and see them. Thanks in advance for any help. It's GB '09 v5.1 by the way.

Typically I have had this happen when the loops I have tried to add, were not proper Apple Loops for some reason... I assume you have been using the ALU to create the Apple Loops yes? if so, did you enter info in all the fields needed?
There can be other reasons though...
    For example,
Are the loops in other time sigs to 4/4 for example? If so make sure you select ANY in the Signature drop down menu in the Loop Browser to see them...otherwise you only see loops in 4/4 and they won't show up when you look for them. The same applies to to the scale filter in the browser too...Set that to ANY too...
Finally, to confirm it is an error of some kind, be it user or Logic...have you checked the actual Apple Loops Folder to make sure the missing ones do actually reside there?

  • Dynamically adding a repeating subform is not working in Guided Procedures

    Hi,
I created an Adobe XML form file (.xdp) with a button and a subform. In the button click event I wrote javascipt to add a new subform. This is working fine from the PDF preview with in the Adobe Live Cycle Designer.
Then I used this template in an interactive from Callable object and generated a PDF from the server. The button click is not adding a new subform from this PDF. What could be the problem? Do I have to enable something on the server side?
    Thanks
    Ram

the credential file is a certificate that Adobe creates allowing different kind of hidden features in Reader. Now as far as I remember a dynamic AND interactive PDF like ability to add/delete rows to a line items table on a PDF requires certified forms which is a special certificate not the one offered for free by SAP for
    - interactive PDF
    - non-interactive PDF
    - dynamic AND non-interactive PDF
Maybe Matthias Zeller from Adobe or Markus Meisl from SAP in the Interactive Adobe Form forum can tell you where to get that special key

  • EA6300 and "devidentd" removed/added messages repeatedly?

Maybe it's crazy, but I'm grasping at straws to fix a connectivity issue I've been seeing with an EA6300 router and a WUMC710... I've tried just about everything including switching to just N-only on the router, setting a fixed IP address for the WUMC710, setting a fixed channel/bandwidth for the 5GHz network on the router (there's nobody else even approaching the signal strength nearby)...
So I've started monitoring http://192.168.1.1/sysinfo.cgi and I notice that my WUMC710 device's IP address keep getting these sort of messages logged, even though it's up and working:

Should that message keep getting logged when the device is there and in use? After a google search I see that there's been a firmware update to the WRT1900 router which has a noted that "Integrated a permanent fix for the devidentd bug" is mentioned there... that firmware came out in July, while the latest for the EA6300 is from May. Are these errors related to the bug, or am I just seeing an artifact that's not really an indicator of a problem?
    Thanks,
    -ech

So the link between the WUMC710 and EA6300 was now working for well over 2 days (all while constantly pinging the 710 from another host in the network... but at about the 1.5 day mark, the messages (all of them) related to the IP address of the 710 have stopped showing up at all, and in fact there was a set of messages indicating that it didn't respond to arp, and so now it's listed as "offline" in the EA6300 status page.
However, the wumc710 device was still pingable as was the device connected to the ethernet side of it (that device still shows up in the logs and "online" in the EA6300 status page. Also the sysinfo.cgi data still showed the mac address of the 710 was associated on the 5GHz channel.
But just now, while I was typing this, the WUMC710 stopped reponding...
I connected a laptop to it and its status page shows "disconnected".. so at least the device is still working. But that means that the WUMC710 just doesn't bother to attempt to reconnect... because all I had to do was to go to the wireless survey screen, select the same ssid and type the same password in again... and it connected up just fine. Ugh.
Will try moving the device somewhere with better reception, but the fact that the wumc710 doesn't (at least under some conditions) try to re-establish a connection with the router seems to be a pretty obvious bug and one that could/should be fixed with a firmware update (on the WUMC).

  • Adding a Repeating Field

Can I add a repeating field in a PDF, one where the end user can select to duplicate a field when filling out a form?
    Thanks for your help!
    Jeff

You can create a form with duplicated field in FormsCentral, then export it to Submission-Enabled PDF. But you may not add a repeating field in PDF, then import form to FormsCentral. but there's no limitation if you create PDF form with duplicated field, use it locally.

  • How do I repeat image 100% height in a box within the template

I have built a new template that already has a background image behind the content area.  This background image is 100% width and height.  Now I have made the header area, the content area and the footer area.  What I am needing some help with is:  I want to have a box behind the content area that continues into the footer.  In that box I want a repeated background pattern that continues regardless of the amount of content in the content area.  I know how to do this using tables and code, but I can't seem to figure it out in MUSE.  I have added the box, added the repeated verticle image, but it won't expand downward 100% height.  It just stops at the height of the box that was built in MUSE and then the repeated background stops too...  Can someone explain to me how to do this properly?  It's all I have left and then this site template is complete.
    Tom

Can you elaborate please.  I have built a template (or master page) with this box in it and it starts just below the line of the header and extends to the bottom of the page. It has a repeated verticle image inside it.  What happens though is that I build a page and assign the master to it, add a content box into the page for text and images.  If the content extends downward past the original size of the master page box height, the box will not extend itself with the height needed for the content.  IE:  if the box is 600px high in the master and then the content is 1000 px high, the box will not expand to the 1000 px height and instead stop at the 600 px height.
Is there a tutorial with this in it somewhere?  I have build numerous MUSE sites both small and large and have yet to do this repeatable background pattern behind just the content area separate from the background image itself.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Tabbed panels repeat region in cms displays 2nd item as a block of content

Hi everyone, hope someone can help:
I have a test page live
    http://aegmotorhomes.co.uk/usedtest1.php
    Problem is this-
I have added a repeat region on my dreamweaver template
I use Perch CMS as my management for staff to add new items for sale on this page
I have built a tabbed panels to list the item
On my CMS it allows me to press "add another" which then adds the tabbed panels again as a new item and the staff input the details
My problem is the first item works perfect and all tabbs work fine, each item after that doesn't have tabbs and shows all content as one whole block
I think it is to do with the ID and applies the java file only to item one, thats my guess.
I have attached code below for my tabbed panels template, .js file and .css file - can anyone shed any light on this issue"

I did read this but don't know where to start: http://www.webdevforums.com/showthread.php?27428-Dreamweaver-spry-collapsible-panel-amp-re peating-regions
    Can anybody HELP PLEASE PLEASE

I think I counted three tabbed panels in the markup, each with an ID of TabbedPanels1
You have only one constructor that makes one instance of the tabeed panels with an ID of TabbedPanels1
There are a couple of things that create the problem.
There can only be one ID with the same name in a document, thus the ID's of the TabbedPanels will need to change from TabbedPanels1 for the second and third instances to TabbedPanels2 and TabbedPanels3 (or similar) respectively.

  • Silly GarageBand for iPad question 2 - Other instruments

Are you only limited to using the sounds provided in GB for iPad, or can you use the sounds from other apps in tracks?

There is any way to add extra instruments, but you can add other loops/samples to your projects. I found some at
    http://www.macloops.com/ for example.
    Adding audio sample to GarageBand
Connect the iPad, select it in the left-hand column, open the Apps tab, scroll down to File Sharing, select GarageBand, add files with the button or drag and drop onto the file area.
    Insert audio sample into song
Open song in GarageBand on iPad, switch to Tracks view, stop if playing and tap |< symbol to reset insert point, tap in the area underneath existing tracks, click Import... select sample, move/trim as desired.

  • Need help adding a second page on reports builder, paper layout.

    Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to create a paper layout using Reports Builder (10.1.2.0.2). This report will print out the following:
    1) Invoice
    2) VAT Slip (on a separate page)
So far I have created the invoice part and it is printing properly. Now I want to add the Vat slip. When I use the "Trailer Section" on the rdf report, I create a frame and inserted some text. The report ran just fine. Then in the same frame, I added a repeating frame. And now the report is completing with the following error:

Anyone have any idea why this is happening? Any help is much appreciated.
Or is there any way I can add a page that has to be printed after the invoice?
    Thanks

If you have created your own template (but it sounds like you haven't) you will need to 'capture' that page so it repeats on following pages.
The whole process is described here:

  • Issue with layout / repeat region

Can someone have a look at this please?
Basically two versions of a details page based on a recordset
using two tables and an interlinking lookup table.
The idea is to display a person's details at the top of the
page on the left (from the 'Candidates' table), and on the right
any job 'profiles' for that person (from a 'Profiles' table). The
page is obviously just showing the details for the selected
Candidate, but needs to show *all* the associated profiles.
So in the first page, the details are correct, but because it
shows the first record from the query.
So I thought it would be a simple case of adding a repeat
region to the 'Profiles' row on the right hand side. But when I do
that, most of the contact details don't display - only the ID and
    firstname fields.

  • Transferring GarageBand files from iTunes to iPad 2

I haven't discovered a way to transfer GarageBand files from the MacBook Pro via iTunes to my iPad with GarageBand installed.
I have selected 3 simple files i have done and added them to the GarageBand list on the Apps screen in iTunes. Each is a .band file and doesn't contain any plugins or video.
Each time I sync and open GarageBand on the iPad 2, I select the load icon that is supposed to show these three files from iTunes. Nothing is there.
    Did I miss something?

    Deacon272 wrote:
But that begs the question, "Why the Load File icon?" It doesn't have any function per se that I can see.
i believe that its purpose at this time is for shareing GBi projects between iPads. perhaps a future releasse will allow for GBX to GBi transfers. if it's a feature you want, be sure to let Apple know:

  • Can't import edit from Garageband

I am trying to edit a song from itunes in Garageband and then import that to iDVD. The file that I create cannot be shared. It won't even drag into my project. Other iTunes songs will though, but not when it goes through Garageband.
One time it did work and it was the first time I tried. I remember when I saved that project something popped up and said something about saving it with a preview so that it can be shared with other programs. I don't know if this had something to do with it or not. I have never been asked that again and it has never worked.

In iM7 custom chapter markers need to be added to movies in garageband (that or download iM6 below). In imovie share the movie to the media browser, open garageband, add chapters and choose share to iDVD.

Hope the above helps but if not just come on back.
(or if the above fails, you may also want to drag and drop the plist for GB as well as iDvd to the trash, restart your mac, and try your project again. you will need to reset some preferences in both apps after you do this).

  • How to add chapter markers in GarageBand

I have never added chapter markers in GarageBand, and I assume that most other iMovie users had not either. Here is a little walkthrough I wrote up after going through the process.

    Barbara,
I agree with WT that the user manual is worth taking a look at. Here is a link to the marker editing process – which takes place in the Preview window of Compressor.
If you continue to encounter problems, provide us with additional details about your project and what issues you've encountered.
    Good luck.

  • Repeating table header text is bold and won't go

I have an InfoPath 2007 form that I have published to a SharePoint 2010 site with Forms Services.
When I open the form in the browser, the column titles in each repeating table appear in bold text. No matter what I do, I cannot make this go away. I have tried the obvious things, such as pressing the CTRL+B or CTRL+SPACE keys. I can apply or
remove underline or italics but not the bold.
We are still in changeover period so I can publish this to a MOSS site (no Forms Services) and the table headers are not bold when they open in the InfoPath client.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,

    Hi AdeleR,
    Thanks for your post.
As what you have said, I think it’s may be a compatibility problem between InfoPath 2007 and SharePoint 2010.
In order to clarify the reason, I suggest you to do some things as follows:
    1.
Compare the source code of the InfoPath page between SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010 using IE developer tool.
    a.
    Publish the InfoPath form to SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010;
    b.
    View the source code using IE developer tool;
    c.
    Compare them.
    2.
Are you using IE to open the InfoPath form? Try to browse it using Firefox and give the results.
    3.
Re-create a new InfoPath Form and publish again and share the result.
In addition, there are some new features in InfoPath 2010, have you considered about upgrading to InfoPath 2010.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/infopath/archive/2009/07/15/what-s-new-in-infopath-2010.aspx
I have tried a couple of these points and here are the results:
Compare the source code - I haven't done this because the 2010 site is using Forms Services and the MOSS one isn't (i.e. only one form opens in the browser and the other opens in the InfoPath client).
I'm opening the browser-based form in IE8 and I have also tried opening it in Firefox 3.6.3. Both programs show the repeating table headers with bold text.
I customised the sample Travel Request form and added a repeating table to it. When I published it to both the SP2010 and MOSS sites, the 2010 form that opened in the browser had bold headings; the MOSS/InfoPath client form didn't.
I also created a blank form, added a table with title, a section and a repeating table. The only formatting I changed was to unbold the repeating table's column headers. Once I published the form, I got the same result as above.
The form doesn't have the bold text when you preview it in InfoPath. It somehow gets it when you publish it to the SP2010 site. I'm trying to get InfoPath 2010 (for its cascading drop-down lists) so will see if that makes any difference.
