itunes page pops up continually on my windows Vista pc since we added a second ipod and sync it to the same pc. How do I stop the pop ups??

    Many thanks lllaass,
The Touch Copy third party software for PC's is the way to go it seems and although the demo is free, if you have over 100 songs then it costs £15 to buy the software which seems not a lot to pay for peace of mind. and restoring your iTunes library back to how it was.

  • Second iPod Nano

    Hi. I recently got a 1GB Nano which I use with i-Tunes 6.0.5.
I wish to purchase another Nano (maybe a 2GB) model. Can I update both the Nanos using v6.0.5 of iTunes on my Win XP-PRO computer. I don't want to have to create another user account on the computer but just plug each Nano into i-Tunes via USB2, one at a time to sync my songs.
    Much obliged

If both iPods are for your own use and you want to use your existing library then you just need to connect your second iPod and follow the onscreen intructions. The iPod will connect to iTunes and update. You can choose whatever update method suits you.
    For info:
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

  • Help!!! : Adding photos on ipod nano

I try to add photos on my ipod nano. From itunes file menu I select "Add folder to library" and from the tab "photos" "sync photos from" and "all photos" and then "Apply". But all my previous photos stored in my ipod are delleted.
How can I add new photos without delletind the allready existing in my ipod???
Thank you in advance for your help

You don't add photos through Add to Library. Create a folder on your hard drive called called "iPod Photos" or something similar and drag the photos you want on your iPod to it. Connect your iPod and in the photo tab for the iPod, point iTunes to "sync photos from" and choose to update from your new folder. If you keep a dedicated folder like this, you won't need to edit your normal pictures folder just for the iPod and you can add and remove picture from it whenever you need to.

  • Advice on adding a second iPod to the same PC

    Hi
I've had my iPod for years, and never had any problems! I've always had my iPod set up on this PC along with my library etc.
I've recently moved in with the girlfriend who used to have her library for her iPod nano on her parents PC. Obviously she cannot go back to her parents everytime just to sync it! If we try plug it into my PC, it throws a hissy fit, saying it's not the iPod that belongs to this computer. Is it mainly because she has songs that I don't have in my library? Should she remove all the tracks from it and try again?
Do we have to have the same music on both iPods if they are both sharing the same library?
Just some advice on the best ways to keep us both happy would be ace.
    Thanks all
    Gary

A single iTunes library can feed many iPods, and each iPod can get it's own tailored load of tracks and playlists to boot. But without using non-Apple tools or methods, you can't get the current tracks on the nano to load into your library. iTunes only supports wiping it clean and loading with selections from your library.

  • How do I add a second ipod nano to itunes...

... but keep the two libraries and playlists separate ? does Itunes recognise which songs sync to which nano etc ? or do I start a new library for the second nano ?

*...... want to upload those songs back from the ipod (which I sync'd while attached to the original library) up into the new library*
If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    iRepo Mac and Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod

  • I'm having trouble adding a second iPod to my iTunes

I have the Mini, just got my wife a Nano.
iTunes does not recognize the new nano, and I have tried installing the CD-ROM, even though it's older software than what is currently on my computer.
    then, i tried "disk mode"
then i can't seem to get off the "Do not disconnect" mode.
    I am very frustrated.
    Please help!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello, Adam,
Here, I can explain it for you:
    The Do Not Disconnect screen
It is normal for your iPod to say this message to you when you connect it to your computer.
When you need to disconnect it from your computer, you'll first need to "eject" it.
There are two ways to eject your iPod; through iTunes, or the Safe Hardware Remove Program.
    Through iTunes
Ejecting your iPod via iTunes depends on what setting your iPod is on for.
Connect your iPod. Go into Edit> preferences> iPod. See what setting your iPod is on; "automatic" or "manual".
    Automatic
If you aren't restoring, or updating your iPod, iTunes should automatically eject your iPod from iTunes. If it doesn't, then right-click the name of your iPod in iTunes, and make sure that the "enable for disk use" is un-checked.
    Manual
If you need to eject your iPod from iTunes if the setting is "manual", click the little arrow that's next to the name of your iPod in the left source list in iTunes.
Through the "Safely Remove Hardware" program
Look at the bottom-right corner of your screen, and there's the system tray icons there. If the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon is there, click on it, select your iPod, and click "stop".
Any more questions, or still need an clarification of something? Post it on here, and I'll try to help you answer it.
    I hope this helps.

  • Adding a second ipod

  • Adding music to ipod nano from itunes library

PLEASE HELP -- an ipod is connected to itunes on my windows pc and the window lights up o.k.. i want to add the itunes library to the ipod.. when i drag a title to the ipod name, i see the circle/slash symbol telling me its no good.. i have ripped the library to a cd, and still cant make it work.. any suggestions?

Ya but in your first post it wasn't clear WHERE the iPod icon was that you were dragging. So you could very well have been trying to drag stuff from the iTunes library window to the iPod icon showing on the desk top (Mac) or in "My Computer" (Win) as a disk drive. That comes up from time to time, so had to verify.
OK, next question, how is the iPod setup to update? Are you set to Auto update or manual update? If one of the auto updates, then you can not drag and drop anything onto the iPod. You "sync" it instead. If you right click on the iPod set for auto updating, you will see a "Sync" choice. Pick that and iTunes will update the iPod however it is set to update (the whole library or select playlists).

  • Ipod nano & video ipod

I have a nano and a 30gb video. Can i use both ipods on the same computer were I can put the same songs on both ipods? If so, How. My nano will not download songs from my laptop. My 30 gb will. I have never set up my nano on the laptop as a user...how do i do that?

When you are adding a second iPod for your own use, it's usually just a matter of connecting it to your computer and it will update from your existing library. Depending on the size of your library and the type of iPod you choose you can have it update the whole library, selected playlists or you can manage it manually. Are you getting any error messages, is it showing up in iTunes and your computer?

  • How do I add second ipod

I currently have ipod video 5th generation and am trying to add ipod shuffle but dont know how can someone please advise, I have windows vista thanks

If you are adding a second iPod for your own use you should just have to connect it to your computer and follow the on screen instructions. Loading the iPod shuffle differs slightly from the larger iPods but it can still be used in the same library along with any others. For details on loading an iPod from iTunes have a look at this page: Loading songs onto iPod shuffle - Windows

  • Can I get music off a corrupted/broken ipod nano at the apple store?

My Ipod nano had a cracked screen soon after I first got it and the screen was replaced.
My second Ipod nano screen began lifting up in the corner awhile ago, I thought nothing of it until it snagged on a persons clothing and tore the wire ribbon, taking the screen clean off.
As I ran out of space on my old computer, I had to delete all of my music, the ipod was the only way that I stored it, I tried to connect the broken ipod to my new computer to get my music back but it now claims to be corrupted.
If I take it to a store, will they be able to get my music off and onto a pen drive for me? how much will this cost?
The ipod has no warranty due to being a replacement for a fire hazard first generation nano.

No, if you are getting a message that the iPod is corrupted there is no way to retrieve your music.

  • IPod Nano Recall- Serial Number'd Box

My question is, is the box you recive connected to the serial number of the ipod nano you requested it with becuase i have two ipod nano 1st's and i have applied for the box for the first one but i think ive lost it now, could i use the box for the first ipod to send the second ipod nano and still recive a replacement.
    Thanks

Your repair ticket is linked to your device's serial number. I wouldn't reccomend sending in the other unit in that box. You could always call the support line and see if they OK it.
