Adding a survey to iWeb

Hello,
Is there a way to add a Customer Survey to iWeb?
It would be something that they would have to click on to do and would be stored for future use. I am assuming that it would have to be done on a Blog page but I am not sure about this.
All comments welcome.

Hi Phillip,
You can check out my "Vote" link on my homepage of http://iWebTricks.com and see if that might be what you're looking for.
You could make the link any image you like with a little tweaking of the code if you didn't like the image that Bravanet gives you.
Also the "vote" is cool 'cause it updates and displays the results each time someone casts their vote and I get an E-mail notifying me when someone votes. You can have up to 10 questions I think (I only have two on mine right now) and the displayed graph of previous votes is pretty cool.

  • Surveys using iWeb

    Hello there,
I was just wondering whether anyone could help me. I want to use my website that I maintain in iWeb and is hosted by MobileMe to create surveys. As long as it's free, I don't care whether it's a script that uses my own website or an external one to save the results. I've tried things like the surveys at http://GlowDay.com and http://js-kit.com which seemed at first to be excellent solutions but that proved not to work (I see the widget from glowday, but it won't count my votes, and I can't even see the widget from js-kit). Could anyone please help me? I think they're both in JavaScript, so I really can't understand why they won't work on my website. Oh, and I'm not that experienced with websites and stuff so unless you keep it simple, I might not really follow you
    Thanks so much,

Are you using iFrame code to add it to the snippet?
<IFRAME SRC = "*YOUR URL FROM WUFOO GOES HERE*" WIDTH="260px" HEIGHT="425px" FRAMEBORDER="0" --if "0" no border, otherwise "1" with border MARGINWIDTH ="0px" MARGINHEIGHT="0px" SCROLLING="no" --"no" no scrolling bar, "yes" show always, "auto" showed when need > Your browser does not support IFRAME </IFRAME>
The code used is the basic code and would have to be modified to fit your need. But the URL is the URL that Wufoo creates as an HTML link. That's for forms. I would imagine a survey form would have a similar URL. What do you get when you add it to the iFrame code and hit the apply button in iWeb?
    My actual code was:
    <iframe height="515" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="width:100%;border:none" src="http://oldtoad.wufoo.com/embed/z7x3p3/">Fill out my Wufoo form!</iframe>

  • Adding a movie in iWeb using a movie template.

I wanted to add a small QuickTime movie to my web site.
I added a movie template page to the site and then dropped the movie to the box. In iWeb, I am able to click on the play button and the movie plays just fine. But when I publish the site and upload it, where the movie should be is just a Q for QuickTime.
So then I made a plain box with the enable as a hyperlink and a link to the movie. Just like I would to do a pdf file.
My question is how do I get the movie page to work? It looks better with the movie page.
    Power Mac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

you cant make changes to released template, if you do also, new changes wont be shown
    Please refer the note 888650

  • Adding a movie to iWeb

    Hi guys
I have just started to play with iWeb '08, and all was going well until I tried to add an iMovie film. Firstly iWeb advised that the file was too large for web use and that I should convert to a suitably sized Quicktime movie. I did this through Share>Export using Quicktime> and selected Broadband - medium as the use. The file exported successfully, and opens and plays normally in Quicktime (size is 2.8MB).
However, when I try to drag into iWeb from Finder, I get this message:
"The media file “filename.mov” can’t be used because you don’t have access privileges, or because it has no content or is corrupt."
It's not corrupt, and has content (as it opens just fine in Quicktime 7.4), and I am the admin user so can't see how I can't have access privileges!
Any help gratefully received, I'd like to get this sorted so we have something to show granny next weekend!!
    Cheers all
    Noel

Lion has nothing to do with counters.  For iWeb counters to work you must publish the website to MobileMe.
If you publish your site to a 3rd party ftp server you will need to use a 3rd party counter like StatCounter. This tutorial describes how to apply the counter via HTML snippts: 13 - Adding a Graphical StatCounter as an HTML Snippet to an iWeb Page.

  • Adding Google Adsense to iweb pages

In a previous posting, I was told that I could add the adsense code into my iweb website. I publish via .mac and cannot locate where the html is on my mac in order to add the code I need...anyone who can walk me through that would be a real angel!

    flyfisher...
I'll give you an example of how to locate the page.html file for you to edit. Then I'll give you general directions on how to add the HTML code that you get from Google...
    Example...
You have a page called "Widgets" as part of a site called "MySite" that you have made in iWeb. Then you publish it to .Mac. iWeb actually has copied all of your site files to your iDisk for you. To get at them, follow these steps...
    1. Mount your iDisk to your desktop. (Look under the Go Menu>iDisk>My iDisk)
    2. Double click on the iDisk icon that appears on your desktop
    3. Look for a folder called "Web". Click to open.
    4. You should see a folder in that called "Sites". Click to open.
    5. You should see a folder in that called "iWeb". Click to open.
    6. Now you should see a folder calle "MySite" (or whatever you named your site in iWeb). Click to open.
    7. Find the file called "Widgets.html" (or whatever your page is named in iWeb with the .html suffix)
This is the file that you must open up in TextEdit in order to edit the HTML. Before you open the file, though, make sure that you have changed the TextEdit "Open and Save" preferences to ignore rich text format. Then open the .html file. You should see all of your code there for this particular page.
Here are directions for adding the code...
    1. Decide where you want your banner and know exactly what dimensions you need.
    2. Insert a text box onto your page and adjust its size to exactly your dimensions.
    3. Type in some uniquely identifiable text like, "BANNERCODEHERE" without changing the font or anything else...just type it in.
    4. Publish your page with iWeb.
    5. Find the html file associated with your published page (either on your iDisk or in a folder depending on how you published) and open it in any text editor (like Microsoft Word, or Textedit, or anything).
    6. Scroll through the html file and locate your placeholder text, e.g. "BANNERCODEHERE".
    7. Replace the placeholder text with your html code and save your page. (Not save as...just save)
That's it. You should see your adsense ad banner show up where you placed the text box in iWeb.
Because iWeb republishes the html files whenever you update the your webpage, you will lose your changes and have to redo them to add your banners back everytime your page is published over.
    I hope this helps.

  • Adding a TABLE to iWeb

In the past iWeb users asked [how to add a table|http://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?threadID=&q=table&objID=c188&dat eRange=lastyear&userID=&numResults=15&rankBy=10001] to an iWeb page.
Just to keep me busy I wrote a tutorial.
    Tools needed: a Spreadsheet.app & TextEdit.

  • Surveys in iWeb

Is there any way that I can do surveys and polls on my website? (I use iWeb)

You need a service to do that : [free survey|http://www.google.nl/search?q=free+survey]
You probably can embed their page in a HTML Snippet with the <iframe> HTML element :
    <iframe src="http://url.to.file.html" frameborder="0" width="500" height="500" scrolling="no" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>

  • Adding Java to a iWeb page

I am looking into getting an iWeb account and such to create a webpage for a business I am starting. I would be creating virtual tours that would export into Java where the viewer would be able to look into a home by clicking and dragging the pictures to move through the home, and then clicking links in the Java to move to another room in the home.
What I want to know is: Is there a way to add Java to an iWeb page? I have seen that movies and photo albums I create can be added, but what about Java?
Any help on this would be great! THANKS!

If you want to do this, then don't get an MMe account. Use an external host/server that does support java and php. If it is a business site too, it will be more worthwhile, as you get a better service - quicker upload and generally more for your money than MMe can offer. MMe was not designed for business use really, but for ease of personal use with one click publishing.

  • Adding material to an iWeb page after it is published

I have published a very simple two page web page on dotmac. There is a very short introduction and then about 15 photos. (Actually, the topic is about a 100th birthday) (The terminology of the web is confusing here: one web page can contain many pages. Is there a name for the subsequent 'pages' of a web page?)
I wish to add some more photos, separately, on a completely unrelated topic to the original ones along with some additional text. I wish the new photos to be separate from the first photos and the additional text to be separate also.
I do not see how to do this and any advice would be most welcome.

(The terminology of the web is confusing here: one web page can contain
many pages. Is there a name for the subsequent 'pages' of a web page?)
    David,
The appropriate terminolgy is that a 'site' can be made up of several 'pages'. In iWeb this distinction is indicated in the Site Organizer by the fact that Site names are in bold type and have a globe icon beside them. The pages within sites are indented. The icon in this case looks like a page with the top corner turned down.
I wish the new photos to be separate from the first photos
and the additional text to be separate also.
It would help if you could provide the address of your site. Judging from what you describe, though, I would suggest that you repeat what you've already done with your first photo page. Use the + button at the bottom left of the iWeb window, select the Photos page from your preferred template, replace the placeholder text with your own, drag in your photos to replace the placeholder ones, and re-publish.

  • Adding html to an iWeb site published on .Mac

I run my music blog entirely through iWeb and .mac, but unfortunately, in order to get my site onto a listing of music blogs, I need to post some .html on it. I tried opening the files on my iDisk but I don't think I was doing it correctly; if anyone could either explain how to do this, or point me towards a thread that does, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks!

I use the iWebMore tool which basically post-processes the iWeb produced html to insert your own specific html. Read the manual page, at first it seems a little confusing but in reality it couldnt be simpler.
    Hope this helps!

  • Adding a document in iWeb

I am trying to add a document to a webpage with no luck. I've tried pages (also as ZIP) and pdf. I am unable to open the document in a new window. Any ideas? I've tried going through pages and saving it on a blog page...that doesn't work either. I have upgraded to iWeb 3.0.2

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What kind of document and how are you trying to add it? If it's a pdf file create a hyperlink and use the Link to a File option in the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane.
This demo page has several types of links to files: LinkTestPage. The following demo page has methods to embed a file, PDF, text or Word, in an iWeb page and allow scrolling of the document: Scrolling Text Box.

  • Adding photo albums to Iweb

I'm unsure of how to add a photo album to my Iweb. This is what I see. I'm on my About me page. On the right side mac already has 2 photo albums. I don't know how to add an album on there. I read some things in the other discussions about Idisk, but I see NOTHING in Idisk. Where does the photo album come from? Do I create one in Iphoto, save it to Idisk? But then after I save it how do I get it into the About me photo album?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please put step by step in SIMPLE terms! lol.
    Thanks Amanda

    Amanda:
The photo album comes from iPhoto. In iPhoto you can create a new album, name it and then add photos to it. Once that's done, go to iWeb, open the photo page layout and click on the Media button at the bottom. A new window will open with Audio, Photo and Movies sections. Click on the Photo and you'll seer the iPhoto library icon and any albums below it. Click on the album you want to add, select all the photos in it and drag them onto one of the photo place cards. That's it.

    Hi Suresh
There are several things that could be causing you an issue.
    1. The survey template should be released
    2. The survey email text should exist
    3. The status/category/subcategory of activity should match the survey template assignment
    4.  The eic constants for survey should be set appropriately
    Hope this helps.
