Adding a Watermark after 'Importing Video'

Hey there,
I was hoping to create a watermark that fades into my videos 20 or so seconds in, then fades out after another 10 seconds.
Here's what I've done so far in Flash CS4:
- Import Video
- Pointed the "player" to an external URL for the video.
- Selected a generic Skin
The video plays well, all is in order.
Now, to add a watermark to the player.
I figured you'd simply import the new animated SWF file, then write some Actions to tell it when to fade in and fade out. Not that I know how to do that at all ... Any ideas would be amazing.
I'd even be up for other options, if this simply won't work
I've thought of pushing all my videos through a third-party program to brand the video with an animated watermark, is there such a thing? Kinda like TV I guess. Anyway, any ideas would be great ... Thanks again,

that's not the best way to handle video in flash. but you can probably still still what you want.
create a movieclip of your logo. ie, remove whatever you've done so far with the logo on the main timeline. click insert, new symbol, movieclip. on that timeline create your logo animation.
when your finished with your logo, return to the main timeline and in a layer above your video's layer, drag your logo movieclip from the library to the first frame in the top layer. test.
you may want to assign an _alpha less than 100 to your logo movieclip that's on the main timeline.

Check to see if the phone has enough free space on it. Go to Settings->About on you iPhone and see how much free space there is. It's likely that your phone is out of free space. You could also try using a free peice of software called Pic Share It, to drag and drop the video directly to your iPhone wirelessly. Here's a video showing how it works.

Adding content after importing video

I'm a newbie with an advanced question... I think. I imported
a .flv file (about 5min) into frame 1 of layer 1. After the video
ends, I want to add some closing effects (some gradients with text
that pops up and says thanks for your time). Is there a way to do
this in a nutshell? If this requires advanced actionscript or
something harder, please say so and I'll have to source this out to

It's not that tough. It depends on what you mean by
"advanced" actionscript. You can create a movie clip with your
closing effects, and then load it when the video finishes. You
would need: A listener to detect the end of the video, a movie clip
to load, and code to load it. I am not sure how well you know
flash, but poke around with those things and see what you can
do.

Photoshop cs5 messes up the order of frames in a gif after importing video frames?

after recording a video with vlc media player, i save as mp4, then open it in photoshop cs5 with Import>Video Frames to Layers...
The order of the frames are messed up so when played it looks jerky. I played the mp4 file and it's fine. Here is an example in gif form:

I Think the problem is the you dropped too many frame out and the frame you kept are being played to quickly. Animated GIF file sizes are huge compared to video file formats and the color is much poorer then video. However Browsers animate them automatically and the can be used in links href.
I downloaded your gif and it looked like you started with a 1080p video. You re-size it from 1920 wide to 400 pixels wide and to make a small animated gif file size you dropped out too many frames. You file is still 2.3MB. I wanted to get some idea of what could be done. How much 1080p mp4 re-sized to 400px wide would fit into a 2.3MB mp4 file and if saved as an animated gif how big would it be and what would the quality be. Seems like only 5 seconds fits . Here is what I saw.

Poor Quality After Importing Video

Has anyone noticed that the quality is poor after importing a DV file to iMovie? If so, is there any way to fix this or avoid the problem altogether

I think it may depend on the video camera. Some video cameras have this happen when used with iMovie. When I import video from my JVC Everio directly into iMovie '11, the video comes in very out of focus. I have to use the steps outlined on this page to get the video into iMovie '11 properly.

I'm not sure if the culprit is today's update, but I am having problems importing video files in Kdenlive and OpenShot. When I try to import .MTS / .MKV / .MP4 video files, both programs immediately cease to work.

Using Time Lapse function after importing video

Hello!
I have IMovie 08 and import my video via a sony handycam. I want to edit the video to reflect the time lapse style. The video would be too long and boring otherwise and my handycam won't allow me to record this way. Is it possible to do this in IMovie 08 during editing? Any suggestions on where I might watch a tutorial or read how to do this?

I don't know if it's a fix, but when them clips(fast one's), are in the project, click on it's blue gear(inspector),> Clip Adjustment> Speed= should be 100%. If it helps until fixed, try and slow it down to normal. Just a tempory fix, unless you find the problem on that way.

Avoiding resizing after importing video files

Hello,
I'd like to keep the video files I import from my hard in their original size format to avoid quality loss, however I'm unable to locate an option that prevents iMovie from resizing them automatically. Does such an option exist?
If it's impossible to prevent iMovie from resizing the video clips I've captured in a non-DV resolution, could anyone recommend an application that's better suited for editing video that is not collected with a digital camera?

probably, I'm lost in translation, but... as far as I understood you:
iM is a DV-editor, meant to copy (=import lossless) from miniDV camcorders via firewire ...
ANY other codec gets converted for usage in iM.. iM is no 'all purpose, all standards' video editor..
to edit 'other' codecs, you have few options, depending on codecs & size of your wallet...
QTpro edits lots of codecs 'natively', but, for sure, is less convenient than iM; ..
Mpeg Streamclip handles.. ehm, mpegs...
FinalCutPro handles lots of codecs, res, fps...
EyeTV and Capty edit mpeg streams from some devices...
if you like to tell us, what codec your files are and what you're final delivery media is, probably you get more and specific answers ....

AVCHD footage "jumping" after import

Hey there,
I have FCP 6.0.4 and Sony CX7K AVCHD camcorder.
Log & Tranfser see my camera just fine and I can preview videos in there with no problems.
Problems starts when I transfer those videos from my camera to the project in ProRes format. After importing video starts to… ehm jumping! Hard to explain, much easier to show. See it for yourself: http://www.vimeo.com/2097051

I'm having exactly the same problem. The video that I import from my Sony HDR-SR10, jumps backwards every 15th frame, leaving me with a seizure inducing "Wang-Chung" effect. However, the suggestion that I delete Perian and TubeTV doesn't work for me, becuase, when, I search the computer, no such files exit.
Any other suggestion?

Please excuse if you know this already....
If you have the tryout version of Premiere Elements (any version) and you export with the Adobe watermark, you cannot remove the Adobe watermark from that export, even after purchase of the program.
As you found out, you can remove the Adobe watermark from the tryout project file (project.prel) after purchase. The classic way (as you have indicated worked for you) is the deletion of the project.prel's rendered files (preview files) in the purchased program. Some, like myself, have found removal of the watermark placed in the project.prel of the tryout could be achieved just importing the project.prel with its watermark into the purchased version (no rendered file deletion by the user).
Nonetheless, glad to learn that you are moving forward in your Premiere Elements projects. Wishing you many great projects.

I suspect that this may have more to do with After Effects than Audition - it doesn't add watermarks to anything. Generally, the only time that watermarks get added at all with any software is when a plugin is used in its demo mode (ie before you purchase it). If the audio plays back cleanly in Audition though, then that's not causing the problem - whatever it turns out to be.

FCE can use DV or AIC video formats natively. Any other format will need to be converted to one of those two if you want to avoid constant rendering. The clips you use must match the Sequence settings.

When iPhoto '11 crashes after importing photos and videos, they are gone. How can I retrieve them?

iPhoto '11 randomly crashes after importing/editing/organizing photos and videos. When it does, photos and videos that I've been working on are gone. Pictures taken with iOS devices can be retrieved if they are still in Photo Stream, but videos are gone. Is there anyway I can retrieve photos and pictures that are not saved before iPhoto crashes? Also, is there anyway to prevent it from crashing? It seems iPhoto '11 is doing this since the day 1 I started using it. Thank you.

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library
this should help with the crashes - it may or may not help with the missing videos
