Adding a watermark

I am trying to add a watermark for a letterhead, only seem to be missing something.
When import photo as watermark I select advanced then make selectable & then mask only it only selects part of photo.
How do I use complete photo for a watermark
Thanks in advance

Have you tried doing what is suggested on page 101 of the manual?
This is what I do to create a watermark:
- click on insert/choose to import the image
- make the object fixed on page
- resize and position the object
- change the opacity
- click on arrange/ send to back
- click on format/advanced/move object to section master
And it's done. Only if I don't want to use the whole picture do I mask it before sending it to back.
I hope this helps.
Cheers
Dan

  • Solution to "Black image when adding a watermark in Aperture"

    Hi,
    I read an archived topic about people having issues with adding a watermark to their exported images using Aperture 1.5.2. I think the solution lies with what your current Display color profile (System Preferences > Display > Color) is set to and what color profile you used to create your watermark.
    I created my original watermark using Photoshop CS2 and I believe that the watermark was saved using the sRGB Profle. However, I then calibrated my monitor using a Pantone Huey and it changed the color profile in my System Preferences. So every time I tried to export an image with a watermark from Aperture, I would get a black image with my watermark in the correct spot.
    To solve the problem, I changed my Color Profile to sRGB Profile, then started Aperture. When I exported my image, everything came out properly.
    Hope this is helpful to others.

    I also just ran into this problem...my solution was an issue with the RAW fine tuning.
    Images that used the new RAW fine tuning 2.0 (with Aperture 2) exported watermarks (I used a .psd file) just fine, but when exporting images with RAW fine tuning 1.1, a black box would show up around my watermark. So I migrated my images to RAW fine tuning 2.0 and it fixed the black box issue.

  • Adding PDF watermark in Automator doesn't work in Lion?

    Hi folks,
    I am trying to create a function for adding watermarks to my invoices. I read different tutorials, but whatever I make, when it comes to adding the watermark background (Automator -> Workflow -> PDFs -> Watermark PDF document (not quite sure about the english name)) it doesn't add anything. I tried .jpg, .psd, .png, different image files and sizes. However I never get any file into my list.
    Any hints?
    Thanks!
    Mike

    Here's a workaround:
    1. Create a workflow, including the "Watermark PDF Documents" action, save it as a workflow.
    2. Show the contents of the saved workflow, find the file "document.wflow" inside the "Contents" folder, open it with a word processor, e.g TextEdit or BBEdit or Microsoft Word
    3. Find the parameter block of the "Watermark PDF Documents" action, it should look like below:
                                  <key>ActionParameters</key>
                                  <dict>
                                            <key>angle</key>
                                            <real>57.379999999999995</real>
                                            <key>onePDF</key>
                                            <false/>
                                            <key>opacity</key>
                                            <real>0.72282608695652173</real>
                                            <key>overUnder</key>
                                            <integer>1</integer>
                                            <key>scale</key>
                                            <real>1.4574821967095799</real>
                                            <key>xOffset</key>
                                            <real>34.5</real>
                                            <key>yOffset</key>
                                            <real>23.469999999999999</real>
                                    </dict>
    4. Add a key-value pair for "fileNames" into the parameter dictionary, so that it looks like this:
                                    <key>ActionParameters</key>
                                    <dict>
                                            <key>angle</key>
                                            <real>57.379999999999995</real>
                                            <key>fileNames</key>
                                            <array>
                                                    <string>/Volumes/Storage/Media/Pictures/SleepingCat.gif</string>
                                            </array>
                                            <key>onePDF</key>
                                            <false/>
                                            <key>opacity</key>
                                            <real>0.72282608695652173</real>
                                            <key>overUnder</key>
                                            <integer>1</integer>
                                            <key>scale</key>
                                            <real>1.4574821967095799</real>
                                            <key>xOffset</key>
                                            <real>34.5</real>
                                            <key>yOffset</key>
                                            <real>23.469999999999999</real>
                                    </dict>

  • Prevent all page color from becoming opaque when adding a watermark with opacity

    It looks like when I create a watermark AND change the opacity to something low the entire PDF becomes slightly opaque and colors are not that vivid (even if the actual text watermark is very small in the corner).
    The only way I noticed fixes this problem is if I check the option to "Keep position and size of watermark text constant when printing on different page sizes".
    See difference here:
    -- Normal - http://screencast.com/t/5bCfSP5Fba
    --Opaque - http://screencast.com/t/03qXJhR1ydh
    --This is the difference in black when zooming in: http://screencast.com/t/PPsMJiLiS
    Does anyone know what could be causing this? Is there a way to fix it without checking "Keep position and size of watermark text constant when printing on different page sizes"?
    Thanks!

    ALMOOOST!
    It did work but I don't understand why it worked on some pages and not on others. So when using this method, its worked completely fine when the watermark is applied to visible page. However, when the watermark is applied only to printed pages, some of those pages lose the water mark completely on print during the flatten/change blend space. I cant tell whats special about those pages that it works that way.
    Maybe it will be just easier to use the "Keep position and size of watermark text constant when printing on different page sizes" option when adding the watermark and then everything looks evenly perfect(just need to manually center the watermark position for each file). Curiously though, any idea what could be the correlation between the "Keep position and size of watermark text constant when printing on different page sizes" and the opacity of page when adding an watermark?

  • Embed fonts when adding a watermark

    Acrobat 8.1:
    Please help me embed a font when adding a watermark. I'm using the addwatermarkastext() method, using C#:
    args = new System.Object[] { text, 1, fontName, size, jsoColor, -1, -1, true, true, true, horizontalAlign, verticalAlign, horizontalValue, verticalValue, false, 1.0, false, watermarkRotation, 1.0 };
    jso.GetType().InvokeMember("addWatermarkFromText", System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Default | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, jso, args);
    This works great, but I need to embed the font into the PDF. I'm using a barcode font that must be embedded, since the downstream viewer is not acrobat reader (and the user may not have the barcode font installed) and has a hard time with non-standard fonts. We are using a barcode font with an free license, so licensing won't be an issue.
    When I add a watermark manually through the Acrobat pro interface, Acrobat DOES embed the font. I can't rely on users to enter the information accurately, so I must have an automated solution.
    Is there a setting on Addwatermarkfromtext that I'm missing, or is there another way to embed just that one font? I don't want to embed all fonts in the document, just the barcode font.
    I've tried adding a dummy watermark with text that is not visible (I saw somewhere online that someone recommended this approach). It did not work..

    addWatermarkAsText() will always embed the font, provided that the font is licensed for embedding. have you verified that the font vendor has granted you those rights? I know you said it's "free", but perhaps it's not embeddable. You can easily check that using Distiller or the Microsoft Font Panel.
    If you were to upgrade to Acrobat 9, then there is an EmbedFont function you use to embed just that font after the fact - though, again, it shoudl be embedded as is.

  • When adding a watermark, Lightroom crashes

    Anytime I try to export a file and add a watermark, Lightroom crashes.  I can export without adding a watermark just fine.  Lightroom also crashes when I try to edit a current watermark - as soon as I click the drop down menu to choose which watermark to edit, down goes Lightroom.  I have both text watermarks and a small jpeg as a watermark (same thing happens with both) and I am running Lightroom 4.3.

    It does sleep eventually, but not while I'm using the watermark feature? And it's not like I move the file around, it stays put. At any rate, I've moved it over to my internal hard drive to test that theory and it seems to be working thus far
    As a side note, I'm wondering if it's ok that my raw files are on my internal hard drive but the catalog is on my external? When I import new images, they go to my "Pictures" folder by default but the catalog itself is located on my external. So when I back it up, it backs up to my external, which is the whole point...but since I wasn't sure if you're supposed to be referencing the files from the same place and THEN backing them up somewhere separate? Sorry if that's confusing!

  • After effects is adding "audiojungle" watermark

    After effects is adding "audiojungle" watermark to audio I recorded and imported from adobe audition

    beecher wrote:

    I suspect that this may have more to do with After Effects than Audition - it doesn't add watermarks to anything. Generally, the only time that watermarks get added at all with any software is when a plugin is used in its demo mode (ie before you purchase it). If the audio plays back cleanly in Audition though, then that's not causing the problem - whatever it turns out to be.

  • Is there specific order to adding footer, watermark, ORC scan, security and optimization to get best size and quality results?

    Does it matter what order that the following are done to a document? Are there any guidelines of best practices to know?
    - Adding meta data
    - ORC scan to searchable image
    - Footer/Page Number
    - Watermarks
    - Save as optimized PDF
    - Security
    Is it possible the results would be different (files seize and quality) if the above steps are done id different orders.
    The example I am thinking of is:
    - If footer and watermark is done first, will ORC scan that content or give errors that some parts are already text ?
    - If the file is first optimized using good quality image resampling, will that ruin the ORC results if optimization is done first?

    Hello Scott,
    I have a question about a weird behaviour of the gmaps rendering: When I navigate the first time to gmaps, everything is rendered correctly...but if I navigate back to homescreen and then again to gmap, the gmap is rendered in a very small area of the page on the left side...Why such a rendering issue?
    Maybe you are aware of that. Thank you!

  • Adding a watermark  to raster maps before  MapView displays users requests

    Dear everyone
    Is it possible to create a transparent watermark overlay that Oracle can then place on top of any raster maps just before they are served via MapViewer to web browsers.
    I have some large raster maps which users will be able pan and zoom in and out of. It would be extremely helpful if every time they recentre or zoom the map, the same copyright image was displayed over the map image. I know this can be done as text but I would prefer to have a transparent image displayed across the whole screen so that a user cannot copy parts of the image so easily. I also do not want non transparent text obscuring any of the raster data.
    I can do this on the original data but that is time consuming and means I would have to keep copies of both the modified and unmodified data.
    I am working in Oracle 10.2 using PL/SQL and the PL/SQL API, which replicates the Java API, in order to sent scripts to MapViewer.
    Kind regards
    Tim

    Hi
    This is an old question but I since found the answer so thought I would post it. The answer is in the MapViewer manual.
    In 10.1.2 it is located from page 1-23 (it's in section 1.5.5.). It's known as adding your own logo as opposed to watermark.
    The code required is added to the MapViewer configuration file and therefore as such I believe, would apply to every map request, regardless of user. It also means it wouldn't have been of use in my case because I do not have the correct permission to edit this file and nor should I, given many other people besides myself use MapViewer.
    Regards
    Tim

  • Adding a watermark from App-Level script

    Hello all,
      I've have a folder-level script that puts a button on the toolbar.  This button calls a function that will insert watermarks and append several PDF documents to the current one.  I've hit a roadblock with this.addWatermarkFromFile(). When the function is called an error is thrown that states the following:
    TypeError: this.addWatermarkFromFile is not a function.
      Pasting a few lines from the function into the console and executing from there works… but it always bombs when executed from a function.
      The documentation states it requires priveleged functionality, which I provided.  My function looks like this:
    function generateReport()
        app.beginPriv();
        this.addWatermarkFromFile(
            cDIPath:     strPathReportFront,
            nSourcePage: 0,
            nStart:      intPageReportFront,
            nEnd:        intPageReportFront
      //CODE CLIPPED FOR SAMPLE PURPOSE
      app.endPriv();
    app.trustedFunction(generateReport);
    Anyone know where I'm going wrong?

    App-level scripts have no knowledge of your document, therefore you can't
    use the "this" object like you do elsewhere.
    You have to pass a reference to the document as a parameter, and then use it
    in your function to call addWatermarkFromFile().

  • Adding a watermark instead of expiring a document

    Does anyone know if the following is possible with policy server:
    Instead of expiring a document, to issue the document with a watermark on it, indicating that the document's validity has elapsed.

    > Thanks
    Yes, Policy Server provides dynamic watermarking capabilities, so this
    is possible. However, the out-of-the-box capability does not allow you
    to automatically apply a watermark when the document expires, so a
    custom event handler may be required.

  • Adding a Watermark after 'Importing Video'

    Hey there,
    I was hoping to create a watermark that fades into my videos 20 or so seconds in, then fades out after another 10 seconds.
    Here's what I've done so far in Flash CS4:
    - Import Video
    - Pointed the "player" to an external URL for the video.
    - Selected a generic Skin
    The video plays well, all is in order.
    Now, to add a watermark to the player.
    I figured you'd simply import the new animated SWF file, then write some Actions to tell it when to fade in and fade out. Not that I know how to do that at all ... Any ideas would be amazing.
    I'd even be up for other options, if this simply won't work
    I've thought of pushing all my videos through a third-party program to brand the video with an animated watermark, is there such a thing? Kinda like TV I guess. Anyway, any ideas would be great ... Thanks again,
    Cheers,
    Danny

    that's not the best way to handle video in flash.  but you can probably still still what you want.
    create a movieclip of your logo.  ie, remove whatever you've done so far with the logo on the main timeline.  click insert, new symbol, movieclip.  on that timeline create your logo animation.
    when your finished with your logo, return to the main timeline and in a layer above your video's layer, drag your logo movieclip from the library to the first frame in the top layer.  test.
    you may want to assign an _alpha less than 100 to your logo movieclip that's on the main timeline.
