Adding a web link to the timeline

Is it possible to add a web link to a FCP timeline so that it is clickable in a QuickTime movie? It looks like you can do this in iMovie using markers, but I can't find anyway to do this for FCP.

Actually, you aren't overlooking the obvious. The best way to do this is via the URL portlet that is available from the PDK site. You install the portlet and are able to use the customization to point to a specific URL. In the latest release of the PDK, we released the URL services which extend the capabilities to allow things like authentication etc. You can get to the PDK via the Portal Page on OTN.

How can you put a web link in the detailed navigation?
I know that if your role contains iviews that are 3 levels down (default), then the link to the iview will appear in the detailed navigation. But, I want to put a link to a external site in the detailed navigation - is this possible?
    Thanks
    Patrick

I have a page set with a url iview and it opens from the detailed navigation in a  new window fine.
however when clicking on a link to the page via a landing page which displays the KM content page folders, it loads it in the portal active window still (with nav and masthead).
Any ideas how to get the km link to open in a new browser window?
    thanks

  • Adding a button/link in the portal logon page

    Hi,
I am new to the portal related things. I am a web dynpro developer and familiar with the Java coding.
Now, i got a requirement to modify the portal logon page as below:
Need to insert one extra button/hyper link to reset the password.
when user clicks on this button, i need to call an RFC in R/3 by passing the entered user name. That RFC will generate a new password and send a mail to the respective email address(maintained in a custom table in R/3 itself).
If the user-id is wrong i need to show the error message returned from the RFC.
If the return-code of RFC is success, then need to show an information message conveying that the password reset was successful and refer to your mail inbox.
Please suggest me the best approach on this scenario.
I already imported the PAR file for logon page and can see the project in NWDS.
Note: we are using EP 7, NW2004s and R/3 is ECC 5.0
    Thanks & Regards,

The Funktion Prem is suggesting can be turned on/off through the UME Properties which can be changed through the Config Tool.

  • Adding a web link to a page design

I am a new user of Portals and currently learning the product. I have been trying to figure out how to add a portlet that simply displays an external web page (e.g. web.mit.edu as an example). I created a link object under the application tab but even though I have full authorities to publish portlets, the publish option does not appear for this object type. I realize this is a pretty elementary question, but I'd appreciate anyone advising me how to accomplish this. I'm probably overlooking the obvious. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  • How do I remove the web link from text

I have a text string on a sticky note that is formatted as a web link.
How can I remove the web link so the string becomes ordinary text?
    Thanks,

In Stickies, ⌃click (or right-click) the link. From the contextual menu, choose Remove Link. Alternatively, choose Edit Link…, then click the Remove Link button, or delete the URL.

  • Should be a no brainer: How do I include a web link in a flex input form?

In addition to the form fields and the submit button I want to add a simple web link to the form (preferably without creating a button). I can't figure out how.
I've tried to add a html UI control, but there is no option for adding links in the html editor, or anyway the links that look clickable in the editor are certainly not clickable in the runtime flash form.
    Henning

    Hi Henning,
In the Form create a Field of Controll "Plain Text".
Now go to the controll propertise of it and select Action tab.
    Select the System action.
From the dropdown box select "Hyperlink" for system action.
Click the formula tab of Hyperlink Address and enter the link eg.,"http://www.google.com".

  • I can't link up the play button in Encore

I just want one button, THE PLAY Button.
The project has no errors and will allow a build.
Then When I add a button It will not link.

If you added a background, you must have a menu. So I'm going to assume you have the very basic question of how you link a button to a timeline. See screenshots.
On the left is the project panel, with a menu, an asset (the video file with the .wmv extension), and a timeline. The middle panel is the menu viewer, where one of the buttons is selected. The right panel is the properties panel where you can see the properties of the selected object, here a button.
In the first screenshot, the section for "Link" is empty. In the second screenshot, you can see that the "pickwhip" has been used to drag from the link to the timeline. (You link to a timeline, not to the asset.) In the third screenshot, you can see the button properties for link, now shows the timeline.

  • PDF export with link to document defaulting to "Open a web link" instead of "Open a file"

I have a MS Access database and I'm trying to export reports to PDF (I have Acrobat XI Pro) that include a hyperlink to another document on the same drive on my computer.  I have tested this with hyperlinked email addresses, and emails export fine to PDF and are still functional, opening a new email in Outlook.  The hyperlinks to documents work fine in MS Access, opening a Word, PDF, or other document when clicked.
When I export to PDF, the links to documents say, "This document is trying to connect to: file:" and my filepath.  If I say "Allow," the link tries to open in my default web browser, which comes up blank.  I've tested this on other computers in our office too.  When I right-click the link, I have the option to "Open weblink as a new document" -- this opens the document successfully, but won't be very helpful or fast for our staff.  When I examine the link with Tools - Add or Edit Link, I see that the link's action defaulted to "Open a web link" when the PDF was created.  This seems like it should be "Open a file."  To see if "Open a file" would work in theory, I tried creating a test button in a blank PDF and made the "mouse up" action "Open a file" and linked to various documents on my computer.  Each time, the button does not react to being clicked at all, like nothing happened.
I also tried making a basic Word doc with just the hyperlink to another document.  It works fine in Word, but, when saved as a PDF, the hyperlink does the same behavior-- tries to connect to the web instead of opening the file on the computer.
I have a lot of experience building Acrobat PDF forms and working in Acrobat, and I'm almost certain I've created links that open another file on the computer in Acrobat before, but I'm out of ideas and an internet search isn't turning up much.  I welcome any suggestions for things to try.  Thank you!

This is what I currently have, and it attempts to open in a web browser.  Do you know of a setting in Acrobat I might need to change, or any other solution to tell Acrobat to open the "file:" URL as a document, not try to start the web browser?

  • How Can I Disable "Live" Web Links in a PDF

I have a pdf which is assembled from a variety of original documents, including one document that has a dozen or so "live" url links to websites.  I didn't create the document in question, and I don't have access to the original word processing file.
I need to upload the whole document to a website that will not accept pdfs with live links.  (It's a filing in a legal action, and the website is operated by a court.)  The website support people have told me to remove or disable the links.
This ought to be easy, but I can't figure it out.  I can't edit the source document to deactivate the links, (i) becasue I don't have it, and (ii) because it's a part of the record that shouldn't be modified without some form of formal process.
I tried scanning the pages with the links, with the thought that I would replace the original pages with scanned pages.  But the court requires text searchable documents, and the OCR process identified the links as urls and created live links.
If there's a basic setting that turns deactivates web links in the text, I haven't found it.
    Grateful for all suggestions.
    Tom

Thanks for the thought, but the document in question has already been reviewed by the technical department of the court's website help desk.  They have identified the website addresses in the text as the reason why their system won't accept it and directed me to remove them.  They refer to the addresses as "hyperlinks," which led me to believe that there was a separate link object involved.
However, from what I've learned here tonight, the problem is Acrobat's default behavior in parsing a text string that begins with "http:"
There are a number of ways to handle the problem, all of which involve a little bit of busy work, but it's not a big deal.
It's just it would have been easier if there were some preference I could enable before re-saving the document that did the trick.  Now that I think about it, a programmer could probably create an external routine (I assume such things exist for pdf files?) that would "mask" the http string from the parsing engine, or otherwise instruct the application not to generate a live link.  But such a routine itself would probably be rejected as as "code which may cause an external action," and there's probably no way to distinguish "good" external routines from malware.
    Cheers,
    Tom

  • In the time line, cutaways and titles are supposed to be linked on the top side of movie clips in the time line window.  I don't know what I did, but now they are linked to the bottom side.  How do I get them up to the top where they belong?

I'm working on a movie in FCP and using cutaways and titles in many places in the timeline.  While working on a movie 2 days ago, and I don't know what I did, all the cutaways and titles are now linked to the movie clips from below rather than above.  When I "grab" them and drag them up to the top-side, as soon as I "release", they go back down.  Along the menu bar, I've check the "view", "modify", "clips", etc., looking for any thing that might refer to appearance of the time line.  What must I do to get the cutaways and titles back on top where they belong?  The audio clips remained properly-linked to the time line and play properly.  The cutaways and titles can be seen but do not play.

The cutaways and titles should be linked above the timeline clips, not below

  • Problem with Adobe 9.5.2 stalling when appending Web Links

Every time I go to append a multi-level web link to a PDF using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.2 it stalls (this problem also occurs on a computer I have with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.2 installed). I have tried repairing the program, installing updates, and restarting the computer with no luck. This problem only started happening 5 days ago after using the program with no problems for over a year. How can I fix this?   Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open PDF. 2. Click on Advanced > Web Capture > View Web Links 3. Select desired web link > click "Properties" > chose number of levels or entire site > Press OK 4. Select desired web link again > click on Download   Results: Adobe starts to convert the web link for a few seconds and then stalls for hours with no success on a web link that previously only took two minutes to convert a week ago. Sometimes it will crash and I get the message "Adobe Acrobat has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."   Expected results: To be able to append the multi-level web link to the PDF.

    Hi Jamie,
I was able to reproduce this crash. I've logged a bug with our engineering team.  When I hear more, I'll update this thread.
I do not have a workaround for this issue at this time.

  • Web Link Not Working in IE7 with Vista

I have a fairly simple website of my photography (www.esdigitalart.com) that uses Lightroom flash galleries linked to a Dreamweaver CS3 home page. I use the Contact Info and Web Link in the Site Info Panel to create a "return to Home Page" link. This link works fine in my previous computer running Windows XP and my wife's computer, but since I bought a new computer with Vista and IE7, the website "works" fine including the flash galleries, but the "Return to Home Page" doesn't work. When I open a gallery and go immediately to the "Return" text there is a white underline, which disappears when I click on the text and nothing happens. When I browse a few pictures and go to the "Return" text (upper right corner) there is no underline and nothing happens with a click. I'm assuming it has something to do with the Vista - IE7 settings. Maybe some security setting, but it's frustration not to be able to check my website on my own computer. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Hi Betty,
It seems to be an issue with Flash Security settings.
Please follow the below steps (these steps are for Firefox and IE):
Publish the project in a folder on c drive.
Open the html file from the published output .
Do the right-click on the screen and go to Global Settings.
    Go to Advance Tab.
Scroll down and click on Trusted Location settings.
Click on Add> Add Folder and navigate to your published folder and add it. (You can also add complete C drive so that you do not have to do this again for all the projects)
Click on confirm and then close it.
Now re-open the html file and try to view the attachments.
These setting are only done when you are viewing the content locally. If you place the output on any server then you need not to do these settings.
    Hope it works..!
    Regards,
    Mayank
