Adding a zfield to a infocube through remodelling?

Hi Experts,
I have 2 question's on remodelling, After selection the field and the dimension. There are 4 options to select using constant, Attribute of char, 1:1 mapping, customer exit. But the zfield which I am planning to add to the dimension is none of these 4 types, like its a separate zfield which is not a constant, not an attribute of any char, not a 1:1 mapping " not a characteristic with the values of another characteristic in the same dimension " or not through customer exit.
its a separate zfield which I need to add it to the dimension. What option to select out of the four ?
2) If the ic is changed through remodelling, will all the MP, queries, infoset, archiving objects need to be recpatured and moved to quality or prod again ? I guess we can activate the transformation and DTP through a program right ? But do we have any program to activate the MP and infoset and the bex query as well through aprogram ? or no need to activate all these. Please advise.

Its just a zfield which I need to map it from the existing field in the datasource. Direct mapping. Do I need to select 1:1 mapping ? But I have seen in the SAP web page that we need to select this 1:1 Mapping if " mapping " not a characteristic with the values of another characteristic in the same dimension " mapping with the values of another characteristic in the same dimension " ...in my case its a mapping from a datasource.
Ok thanks for the suggestion, I will just capture the MP which the IC is feeding ? Do I need to capture all the queries on the MP /IC ? Why do we need to capture the bex queries if we are not changing those ? I mean we are adding the zfield to the DSO/IC/MP. I am not changing the bex queries on the MP. Still do we need to capture all the bex queries ? There are 27 bex queries on the MP. Please advise.

Transport error while adding new Navigational Attr to InfoCube on BIA

Hi Gurus,
I have added a new field in the Profit Center Master data(0PROFIT_CTR_ATTR) in R/3 and the changes seem to be working fine in BW. This 0PROFIT_CTR is present in one of the InfoCubes that we have on the BIA. I have turned 'ON' the newly added Navigational Attribute in the InfoCube and have saved the changes. Now when I try to transport these changes to the QA for testing, the transport is getting cancelled with the message 'NOT CORRECT USAGE' in rsddtrex.
I am wondering if this is because I have added and turned'ON' a new Navigational attribute in the InfoCube under the BIA.Maybe the BIA index and the the InfoCube structure do not match because of this newly added Nav Attr in the InfoCube?
Do you have any suggestions on this. I was under the impresiion that even if this was the case, the transports should succeed and only the rollup to the BIA process should fail in the BIA rather than the transports to QA.
Any suggestions?

Did you check if note 1223284 was applied in yor system ?
1223284 - BIA index set to inactive 'A' after InfoCube activation.

Dataloading taking more time from PSA to infocube through DTP

Hi All,
when i am loading data to infocube through PSA with DTP, it taking more time. Its taken already 4 days to load. Irrespective of the data the previous loads were completed in 2-3 hrs. This is the first time am facing this issue.
Note: There is a start routine written in Transformations
Plz let me know how to identify whether the code is written in global declaration or local. If so what is the procedure to correct.

Hi Jack,
To improve the performance of the data load, you can do the below:
1. Compress Old data
2. Delete and Rebuild Indexes
3. Read with binary search
4. Do no use LOOP withing LOOP.
5. Check sy-subrc after read etc.

Archiving Infocube through Process Chain...

I need help in creating process chain for archiving infocube.I am able to archive infocube manually but not getting through process chain.
Is it possible to archive infocube through Process Chain?If yes then please give steps to create process chain for archiving.

Hi,
It is possible to Archive data from an infocube via process chain.
Have a start process followed by Archive data from an infoprovider. Here the trick lies in the variants used for the archive steps used to make the chain.
Create a process by dragging the "Archive data..." process and give name for the variant and use this variant for writing the archive file, choose your archive process (the same archive process u have created to archive data from the infocube) , as this is write phase do not check "Continue Open Archiving requests" chk box, and choose "40 Wirte phase completed succesfully option" from the options in Continue Process Until target status.Now enter the required selection conditions. In case u want to reuse this chain give a relative value under 'Primary Time Restriction tab' and save this variant. This is your variant 1.
Now drag the same 'Archiving process' and create a variant and in this process u need to select "Continue Open Archiving request" and choose the option from the dropdown list '70 Deletion phase confirmed and request completed' this variant for deleting the data from the infocube. This is your variant 2.
So now have a Process chain with Start >Archive Process with Variant 1 ( to write the archive file) > Archive Process with Variant 2 ( to delete the data from the cube).
Thats it !!

1. How do i remove this characteristic. It's not letting me delete the characteristic.
2. I am loading the infocube from ODS object but the new characteristic doesn't show up under Update Rules. Where did i go wrong?

To delete the data of the cube right click the cube in the RSA1 screen and choose Delete data. A dialog box pops up and choose Fact and Dim table here, not just Fact table. Once the data is deleted, you can move the char from the left hand side (cube) to the right (template).

Error after Adding Header Zfields to Item Level Screens?

Hi,
When I add SLA Z fields from Node BTAdminI to the SRQM_SLAPRO/SLASrvCtrView,. Contract related SLA data is not appearing and all fields are appearing in the mode of grade out in WEB UI.
Few of the fields are showing BTAdminI not bound as value.
In the same scenario for the few of the fields I am getting below mentioned error
BSP exception: Error converting to data object from ZZAFLD00002U
Same error I am getting after I added Zfields (From BTADMINH) to Item Level Screen too.
My doubt is Cant I add Header Zfields to Item Level Screens? Or/And Item Zfields to Item Header Screens
What can be possible what is not possible. Please get some clarity on this issue.

Adding Sales BOM to Sales Order through SDK

Hello Experts,
We're encountering an issue with adding Sales BOM items to the Sales Order through the SDK. When we add the parent, the object automatically adds the children as lines after all other lines. This causes issues with our batch delivery creation. When the Sales Order is created inside SBO Client, it always adds the child items right under the parent. We have a work around where we change the LineNum through SQL, but that seems like a sketchy method - what's the proper way of adding Sales BOM items to a Sales Order?
Here is the code we're using to add the Sales Order lines
olOrders.Lines.ItemCode = sItemCode
olOrders.Lines.ItemDescription = aRecSet.Fields.Item("name").Value
olOrders.Lines.UnitPrice = aRecSet.Fields.Item("cartprice").Value
olOrders.Lines.Quantity = aRecSet.Fields.Item("qty").Value

Hi Rob,
I certainly wouldn't recommend you use a direct SQL command to update the LineNum on the sales order rows. This will invalidate your support agreement with SAP.
One way you can deal with this would be to add your Sales BOM header item to a draft document (of type sales order) and add this first. You can then retrieve it in the DI API and add the other Items before adding the document as a proper sales order (and removing the draft). You can do this using the Draft and Documents objects either by coding each property or by exporting the Draft to XML and using XLST to convert it to a Sales Order and reimporting it. It does require a fair bit of coding but it will achieve what you need.

Adding data into a custom table through a report transaction

Is it possible to add data into a table through a report transaction. I have been asked to create a report in which when we add certain data in the selkection screen it updates thoses particular fields and the rest of the records can be fille dout in the output. Basically I have a customised allocation table called zalloc. I have to create a report with selection screen having receiving plant, material document of the original transfer psoting , issuning plant , line item number , batch, receiving and issuning storage location. I need to validate this against the mseg table and whatever entry I make in teh selection screen should update my zalloc table from here.

Yes, It is possible to add records to a table using a report transaction. You can use Update or Modify to insert records in a table.Convert the data fetched from the ZALLOC and convert it into an internal table of the same format as that of the ZALLOC table and simply do an
loop at itab_zalloc into wa_zalloc.
*INSERT INTO ZALLOC FROM WA_zalloc*.
endloop.
OR
INSERT ZALLOC FROM TABLE ITAB_ZALLOC
OR
UPDATE ZALLOC FROM TABLE ITAB__ZALLOC .
Update will modify if that record exist and returns sy-subrc as non zero if entry does not exist.
OR
MODIFY updates an existing DB entry or, in no matching entry exists, inserts a new entry into the DB table

Adding a field to Standard table through Structure

I need to add a field to standard table, I am using one append structure in that i am adding my field , But whenever I am activating the structure, I am not able to activate, It is getting as "PARTLY/ACTIVE" status for structure, so please help me in activating the structure.

goto se14
give the std table name
adjust and activate...
if the problem is not solved.......
see if the field is repeating twice in that Std table.....
if so delete the repeating fields....

Adding school email which is powered through google mail to iPhone 4s

I hope you can help me with my issue.
I want to add my school email to my iPhone device. My school's email is powered through gmail if that makes sense.
Steps I have taken based on instructions from google:
Enable IMAP in your Gmail settings
Sign in to Gmail.
Click the gear in the top right.
Select Settings.
Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
Select Enable IMAP.
Click Save Changes.
Once, I completed the above steps, I then continued with the below steps
7. Make sure you've enabled IMAP in your main Mail settings
8. Open the Settings app on your device
9.Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
10. Tap Add Account...
11. Tap Exchange
12. Entered my email address ([email protected]) , password (ex: Abc123) , server info as : " m.google.com "
13. Tap Next
14. Tap Save
Everything worked correctly, my email was saved to the device. BUT, I then get a pop requesting me to enter in the EXCHANGE password, which I assume to the password for my school email address acount. I entered " Abc123 ", just like I did in step 12 and it says the password is incorrect?
Thus, I cannot get any of my emails through the mail app.
Can someone please help?

If you want to read pdf files in adobe. You need to add adf files to adobe directly. For this you need to connect your device and go to apps section. In that section select adobe then right side you will get a window. In that window you can add pdf files.

Remodeling - Adding Time Characteristics

I am attempting to add several time 0CAL* characteristics into my infocube through remodel. I currently have 0CALMONTH and 0CALDAY in my InfoCube. I am attempting to add 0CALWEEK, 0CALMONTH2, and 0CALQUARTER
In the remodeling object can I perform a 1:1 mapping with 0CALDAY to populate them or do I need a user exit to populate the values of these new time characteristcs?
If I do need a user exit does anyone know where I can find some code for this specific time transformation.
Also, everywhere I see mention of Backup you data 1st.   This is thrown out there like it's some simple task to back up an infocube and restore if problems arise. Can someone mention how they would backup their cube data?

Calender Month   = CALENDER_DAY+4(02).
Quarter can be derived using cal month.

NOT Bound error for Zfield added through AET

Hi.
We added a Zfield through AET in the Account overview screen of IC Web UI.
The same field we added in the Account Identification screen of IC Web UI.
Account Overview screen its showing as enabled mode and its working fine.
but in Identify account screen its giving not bound error.We added the field under the Enhanced BO Account with Ref BO as BUPA.
Any suggestions to solve this issue will be highly appreciated.
