Adding address from Adress Book to event in iCal?

Hi,
First of all i'm sorry if i'm not using the proper terms since I use iCal in French.
OK, when adding event in iCal I would like to specify the address by simply selecting a person or compagy in my Address Book but it doesn't seems to be possible?
It would be nice to have it implemented just like the guess! It would then sync to my iPhone and it would be really easy for me to check the road map after in Google maps' iPhone.
If not possible, where can I request that feature?

Greetings,
You could Invite the person who's address it is. That should add the information, I think.

  • Birthday from Adress Book not shown in iCal

Hi, I have checked option "Show Birthday Calendar" in iCal, but birthdays from Adress Book not shown. I found where is problem: Contact's birthdays from local adress book (On My Mac) are shown properly in iCal, but contact's birthdays from my adress book on Exchange 2007 (RU9) are not shown... I think this is a bug to be fixed...

Wish I'd looked here first! Have just spent a couple of hours trying to get birthdays to appear in iCal after completing an upgrade from Exchange 2003 to 2007. Same problem as reported above - they don't appear. I've tried Dates 2 iCal (shareware with good reviews) but it doesn't seem to help.
Copying the Exchange address book to 'on my Mac' doesn't seem to do anything either.
The only workaround I can think of is manually adding recurring events into the Exchange calendar for the relevant birthdays. That's a pain, and kind of flies in the face of the whole "integrates natively with Exchange, something even Microsoft doesn't do" tag. A more accurate tag would seem to be "doesn't work quite as well as iCal under Leopard" (he said, slightly grumpily).
    Anyone have any other ideas?

  • Problems with sending SMS from adress book

    Hi all,
I have a new Kotorola MOTOKRZR K1 here.
The Bluetooth connection with iMac is ok. I can send data to phone and I can receive data from phone, but I can't send SMS from adress book v4.0.5 (487) to the phone.
The bluetooth button in adress book is disabled. I can click on this button, but address book open in this case always a dialog: "Pair with bluetooth device".
When I click on the "pair" button, then I can enter my access code vor the phone.
It is the access code from Bluetooth Assistant program for the phone.
my question is, Is here a user, who can send a SMS with MOTOKRZR K1 from adress book?
With my old Siemens S55 is this no problem.
Sorry for my very bad english.
    Greetings, Bermd

    did this ever get resolved?

  • Adding addresses from "sent" mail to address book?

I've been getting an enormous amount of spam since years now, too much even for Mail's bayesian filters to deal with. I had the idea of separating my mail from "known" and "unknown" senders into sub-folders, but I am having difficulty finding a way to set this up.
The best way I can come up with is to add all "known" contacts to the Address Book and have Mail filter out "unknown" mails based on that - the most reliable source of "known" addresses I would like to add to Address Book would be the mails I have answered or sent, or in other words, the "sent" folder. Yet I can find no way of adding "to" addresses (from mails in that folder) to Address Book, only "from" addresses (or "senders") - and since these mails are in the "sent" folder, the "sender" would be... me.
Has anyone tried to do something similar, or is there another way around this?
    Thanks for any advice, best,
    Sefu.

The Mail.app stores all message recipients in the list of Previous Recipients and the autofill feature pulls from the Address Book and the list of Previous Recipients.
At the Mail.app menu bar, go to Window and select Previous Recipients.
A previous recipient already entered in the Address Book has a vCard icon to the left of the name or email address. You can remove a previous recipient from the list or add a previous recipient to the Address Book that is not already entered.

  • Adding address from Mail to Address Book as a Group

I receive email as part of a group, or multiple email addresses. I want to add everyone to my address book as a group.
Do I have to add each individual and then drag them into the group?
I mean if my church choir director sends email to the choir and it shows all the emails, can I just add al my choir mates to my address book and a new Group in my address book?

OK here is the solution to the fix. I simply deleted the account in address book and set it up again.
    Working like a charm now.

  • How to get full image from adress book contact

I'm trying to get the full image out of an address book contact. All my basic code is working. The problem that I am having is that for all contacts with images the returned image size is 320x320.
Playing around I have edited contacts, through Contacts.app, by setting a full 320x480 image. I set such an image on my own contact and called my iPhone from a different number. Sure enough when the phone rings the phone displays the full screen original image as I picked it.
So the contact seem to have the full 320x480 image associated with it. But, when I use the ABAddressBook functions to get this same image from the contact, the returned image data says the image is 320x320. And if I display this image data into a view it appears as a square with the top and bottom 80 pixels chopped off.
Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas?

    Hey Rick,
I am also working on the same feature. I was also able to retrieve everything fromt eh addressboook. But I have not worked for image as I am not able to design the same GUI for Add New Record, or Info page as present in iPhone. I am facing a problem of adding UIImageView in the design of grouped table cell. and Give the big gap between the UIImage and Table cell where First,Lat Name and Occupation is being present.
    Plz help in design view.
    Thanx

  • Can't remove gmail address from sync'd outlook events

I have an iPhone 5.  I like to sync it with my work computer for calendar only.  I only like to sync it one way...from Outlook to the phone.  I downloaded iTunes and used it to sync my Outlook calendar.  Now all of my previous events in Outlook have my gmail address on it as an attendee.  This is not good!!  I cannot remove it myself since I was not the one who planned the meeting.  Is there a way to keep this from happening?  How can I erase what is already there?

No, neither in this forum nor from Club Nokia. I sighed, gave up and reinstalled PC Suite 6.4, which I knew had worked fine. I will never update PC Suite again! (Until I get a new phone of course...)

  • Adding addresses from Mail

Hey, Im sure that when I first used mail if someone sent me an email with their home address in it I could hover over said address and would be given the option to add it to my address book....but I dont seem to be able to anymore. Did this feature ever exist or have I made it up? And if it did how come It doesnt work for me anymore?
    Cheers

Did this feature ever exist or have I made it up?
I can't say for sure because I'm not running 10.5. But if you hover over anything else, do you have any options to do anything with that data? If so, then I would guess that this feature never existed, since it would rely on Data Detectors, which you have no visible option to turn off. You can certainly add contacts to Address Book from Mail, but at least in 10.4.x that's a menu option, so I can't speak to whether or not that changed in 10.5.x.
Your profile says you're running 10.5.1; if that's true, is there some reason you haven't yet updated to 10.5.4? If you're already running that, you should update your profile so it's accurate.

  • .abcdp files  from Adress Book

    Hi all,
Sorry if you don't understand my question i'm french and i don't write very well.
I do not usually write on the forums because I find the answers, but here I am down ...
I wanted to synchronize the phone with my address book via isync. Except that I deleted everything. I took my backup but I only files .abcdp (who was in library / caches / com.apple.addressbook / metadata)
I found support on the forum apple, but for leopard and tiger as I am.
When I do a search in spotlight, I contact it is found, then it is a file .abcdp
It is not added to the book when I click it.
I know I'm not so clear I can see why too.
If someone has a trick that I can find my contacts in the address book, I am taker!
Thank you in advance to have read the post
    Sylvain

If you were using Time Machine your backups are deleted at regular intervals to make room for the next backup.
    Solution: don't use Time Machine.

  • HT201991 how do I send a link of a book review to an email address from itunes books?

How do I send a link from an itunes book review to an email?

I may have missed something, but I don't believe there are links directly to a specific review, only to the book overall.
    Regards.

  • Move email address to adress book

when an email comes in and i want it in my address book how do i do that

When viewing a message in the Message Pane, a Tab or a New Window you will see a star to the right of the senders address. If the star is filled with color it is already in one of your address books. If the star is not filled with color you can click on it to add it to your address book. Clicking on a filled star will open the edit dialog box so you can make any changes or additions to that contact.
'''This is NOT the same star that is to the left of the message header in the Inbox window.'''

  • Number 4 is added when typing invitees name in event using iCal 4.0 connect

The client is a new Snow Leopard MacBook Pro it is setup and working just fine with a OS X 10.5 server. All services (mostly iCal Server) seem to be working just fine. The only issues is when adding invitees in iCal event, a number four appears at the beginning of the name as part of the email address of the invitee. The work around has been to just show the Address panel and drag and drop names into the invitees field and the 4 does not appear but if you just start to type the name the 4 appears. It seems to be part of the look-up that is being done by iCal in the local address book and in the address book on the server.
The user can see all of the calendars on the server they have permission to and can and and remove events without issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • What's going on with mail, adress book and the iCloud in Mt.Lion?

I am having troubles here since updating to Mt.Lion that are quiet annoying. Mail is not able to read adresses anymore from adress book. Usually if I type in a letter in the adress line, if would show me the adresses starting with this letter. Not anymore... just an annoying spinning wheel.
I remember that I said "YES" when iCloud asked me, if I want to put my adresses in the iCloud right after the update to Mountain Lion. Maybe that was a mistake. But even after putting back all adresses in "local" it doesn't work.
Any ideas? Anyone with same experinces?
    Thanks for your help.

Here is the latest update from Apple for anyone who is interested:
FWIW, the percentage shown has increased since yesterday.
My totally wild guess is that they are doing some sort of server overhaul ahead of the announcements everyone is waiting for today. All I will say is that I am glad I don't rely on it.
