Adding Administrative Templates (.admx) for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 to my Windows 2008 domain
Hi,
We have a Windows 2008 domain, and now we need to configure IE 10 options, so we have to import the Windows 8 / 2012 ADMX files. Can we just do the following:
1. Download
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36991
2. Unzip it and copy the .admx files to c:\Windows\Sysvol\<domain>\policies and create a directory called policydefinitions
3. Then just re-open Group Policy Management ?
Correct way or not? Will this have any implication on network or any old GPO.
Thanks for reply

Doesn't exist - only "Server certificate". The old URL might still be valid.

Java for PI 7.1 EHP1 in Windows and SQL Server 2008
Hi Gurus
I try to install PI 7.1 EHP1 in Windows and SQL Server 2008. The questions is :
What version of java is the correct for this installation???
And where i can download it??
Thanks and advance!!!Hi Aaron,
The version for PI 7.1 is 1.5, instead of the 1.4.2 of 7.0/3.0.
Anyway, for VM settings, you should refer to SAP JVM, which
is used for the PI 7.11.
Hope it helps!

Clicking on an app tab shouldn't remove it from that browser window but it does, seems to sort of defeat the purpose of App Tabs in my opinion. then I have to drag the new tab back into the other browser window and then it works for a little while correctly.
Thanks in advance for all your help!Make sure that you do not drag a tab in the browser window.<br />
Firefox 3.5 versions and later have a feature called tear-off tabs.<br />
You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.<br />
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.<br />

It is compatible Obi 11g with Windows Server 2012 and Sql Server 2012?
Hi every
Please help with two questions.
1. - Obi 11g is supported on Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012?
There a compatibility matrix which mention compatibility with versions 2012?
2. - is feasible to install Obi 11g in separate server and install weblogic on another server?
I appreciate the prompt response
Regards
PedroHi Pedro,
As of November 2012 Compatibility Matrix released by Oracle for OBI 11.1.1.x Windows 2012 and SQL Server 2012 were not supported. It was supported on 2008 Windows and SQL Server.
We can have weblogic and OBI server's on 2 different machines. The approach is to opt software only install. the link below will give more details:
http://obieeelegant.blogspot.com/2012/07/obiee111160-software-only-installation.html
Let me know if this helped.

I am having problems when i have minimized windows and try to open a new window it will open all minimized windows along with the new window. It just changed when mozzilla updated. It did not do this before the update. Before the update if i had minimized windows they would stay minimized when i opened a new window. Please help ,I would guess it is just a setting somewhere but i cannot figure out where the setting is. Thanks jason

Can't edit default domain controllers policy on windows 8 or server 2012
I have found that I can't edit the "Default Domain Controllers Policy" from a Windows 8 or Server 2012 machine. I can edit and save changes fine from a Windows 7 machine. The domain controllers are running Windows 2012 Standard upgraded
from Windows 2008 R2. Is there a security setting I am missing?Posting the resolution from the other thread. Hope it helps!
I just accidentally resolved this issue today. I added the GPMC to a 2008 R2 server so I could make a needed firewall
change within the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security section of the Default Domain Controllers GPO (I enabled the Remote Event Log management rule for the Domain profile). About an hour later, I forgot I was using my Windows 8 machine and I went
to edit the Default Domain Controllers GPO and opened for edit without a problem. I can now edit it from Windows 8 and from Windows Server 2012. Until now, I was using a Windows 7 VM to make the edits, so in my case the problem was resolved by
editing the GPO once from a 2008 R2 machine. -
Server 2012 vs. Windows 7 / 8. What should a newbie choose?
Hi there!
Am here with a newbie question. Ive been running a Windows Home Server 2003 for several years, and learned alot had great use of it. But the hardware got old, and I wanted to buy a new server.
So, right now I am running my new server with Windows Server 2012 trail, and I've had quite alot of difficulties. So after getting stuck with a Certificate Autority-something, am starting to really wonder if I'd rather should use Windows 7 or 8 to run my
server. Then I dont have to understand all the extra stuff comming with the server edition, but the reason I have this is also to learn how to setup a server.
What should I do? Everyone I know who's interested in server-management is using Linux, and am allways getting stuck with hours of googling, doing stuff that learn a bunch of, but takes me way too much time.
I really wanna learn, but am getting a little fed up with getting stuck all the time.
Just to mention it, am using my server mainly for http, php, mysql and ftp service, running file-sharing over my network, and stuff like that, but really enjoy the more advanced features I had on the server 2003 that I could experiment with.
What do you think?Hi atomprompen,
Besides the suggestion of using Windows 8 Professional, you may also consider to use Windows Server 2012 Essentials.
Windows Server 2012 Essentials is the latest version of Windows Small Business Server. Windows Server 2012 Essentials is a flexible, affordable, and easy-to-use server solution designed and priced for small businesses with up to 25 uses and 50 devices that
helps them reduce costs and be more productive.
Also, Windows Home Server has seen its greatest success in small office/home office (SOHO) environments and among the technology enthusiast community. For this reason, Microsoft is combining the features that were previously only found in Windows
Home Server, such as support for DLNA-compliant devices and media streaming, into
Windows Server 2012 Essentials and focusing our efforts into making Windows Server 2012 Essentials the ideal first server operating system for both small business and home use—offering an intuitive administration experience, elastic and resilient
storage features with Storage Spaces, and robust data protection for the server and client computers.
For more details, please refer to
Windows Server 2012 Essentials FAQ.
We can also download
Windows Server 2012 Essentials trial to evaluate it.

Hi Experts,
I am trying to install sap IDES ECC 6 EhP 7 from scratch. Everything was doing well but I got an error on starting instance. SAPMMC Console Process disp+work.EXE do not change from status: "Server in State STARTING" (Yellow). I have been searching and most of the problem is related to Kernel. I upgraded Kernel to the latest version: SAPEXEDB_101-20012221.SAR and SAPEXE_101-20012222.SAR. I also check my host file and set my IP address with my computer name. I check logs dev_disp and dev_w0 but I am not able to see the error. I am installing IDES into Virtual Machine, Windows 7, SQL Server 2012, 8 Gb memory.
Best Regards.

how to upgrade windows small business server 2011 essentials to windows small business server 2011 standard(OEM system Builder Pack)?
Hi,
Based on my experience, there is no upgrade path for OEM licensing. In addition, only SBS 2008 Standard can upgrade to SBS 2011 Standard, and there is no path to so
that from SBS 2011 Essentials. I am sorry to say that you may need a migration instead of an upgrade.
Best regards,
Susie

SQL Server 2012 Express on Window 8.1 64 bit version?
Hi,
I´m trying to install SQL Server 2012 Express on Windows 8.1 64 bit version. When I reach the point of "Installing Setup Files", of the installation process, the installation seems to halt. I´ve tried both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of SQL 2012
Express. I´ve installed SQL 2012 Express several times before on other Windows versions but I´ve never encountered this problem. Is it a known SQL Server 2012 Express/Windows 8.1 64 bit compability problem?
Thanks in advance!
MartinSQL Server 2012 express can be installed in windows 8.1 all you need to take care is that you meet
hardware and software requirements . Please read the article in hyperlink carefully.Make sure you have internet connection because it is required. Make sure you meet all .net

Sign-on screen appearing during deployments of Windows 8.1/Server 2012 R2
Hey guys,
Minor annoyance our MDT based deployments of Windows 8.1/Server 2012 R2. Part of the way through the deployment its like some sort of "time out" occurs and both these OSes will "lock" the screen by switching to the sign-on view. You just
type in the password and it lets you right back in but (oddly enough) this behavior doesnt happen wen deploying Windows 7/Server 2008 R2. In an ideal world I'd like the entire deployment to run without locking to the sign-on screen at any point.
Has anyone else encountered this and come up with a workaround?EUREKA! At last! I'm still a little uncertain as to how exactly it worked but his post resolved my issue:

1. Enabled the " Allow Remote Connections to this comptuter " in windows server 2012

Can someone advice me on the below.
1. How to RDP my windows server 2012 from my Windows 7 with " Firewall disabled" & "Firewall Enabled" conditionsHi,
Just make sure that the firewall is disabled in all three profiles Domain/Private/Public.
Create a incoming UDP rule on firewall to allow port 3389 and give a try.

New Blog for SOA and Application server,BPEL
Hi Everyone,
I have created a New Blog for SOA and Application server and BPEL and i would like everyone to have a look at it and give me some comments on it like what is the other information i can keep which can help us all etc....
You can visit it at http://oraclefusionmiddleware.blogspot.comOracle Application Server consists of Oracle HTTP and OC4J servers which deploys J2EE-based applications.
Integration server manages all communication, process interactions, Data Transactions among different systems and applications. Oracle integration server consists of all the SOA elements (BPEL, ESB, Business Rules, and OWSM)
when you want to deploy Java applications then you will deploy to Application Server. When you want to deploy BPEL,ESB Process you will use integraion server(BPEL Server,ESB Server).
Integration server is just the web server which connects to application server which helps in administrating and managing different applications as a whole
