    Hi,
    It is the problem in prasing the DTD of config.xml file
    It look like this
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>

    Please change your DTD to this lines and start the server.

    You must have manually edited domain.xml file. What you can do is to create a new server instance(cluster) with similar options you used for your instance that wouldn't start and replace the corrupted domain.xml with the one from created instance.
    You can even do some appserver temp install for that, but make sure you edit the unique parameters to match the instance/domain that wouldn't start.

  • Agent all of a sudden fails

    Hi,
    I'm pretty new to Oracle and am facing a weird, yet very annoying, problem. I searched the internet but didn't seem to find a similar problem.
    I set up a database (meant to be used in local) and a listener, and everything was working like a charm (I'm developing a web app and it uses that database).
    Then all of a sudden, it failed ! The message I get is : *"Listener refused the connection with the following error:*
    *ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor"*
    While, of course, I didn't change anything to the configuration. I stopped/started the service, restarted the computer, tried to change the listener port (in case it would have come from the firewall), delete/recreate the listener.
    When I connect to the web administration :
    Database Instance
    Host : HP-W764-2
    Port : 1521
    SID : db
    Oracle Home : C:\oracle\admin\product\11.2.0\dbhome_2

    Details :

    Status : Failed
    Details : ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach)
    I've seen in this forum that sometimes people were asked to run status and service :

    However from the logs above, could it be because of the recovery file that seems to be full ?

  • Creating Domain step fails while trying to install OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5)

    Hi Everyone,
    I am really stuck at a point from where I do not know which route to take. I am trying to install OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5) on my Windows 7 (32-bit) laptop. I have tried all the options:
    1. Simple Install
    2. Enterprise Install
    3. Software only install (after installing Weblogic 10.3.4.0 separately)
    Everything goes well till the step Bi Configuration->Creating Domain.
    In this process whenever it reaches the stage when it tries to start Node Manager, it starts getting java exceptions and fails. It typically occurs when it does not find the nodemanager.properties file and tries to save the configurations there. It then encounters a Fatal Error.

    After this it hangs for a long time before finally coming up with Node Manager Server Timed Out error and finally the Creating Domain step fails.
    One thing that I have noticed is that whenever it tries to create the nodemanager.properties or write to it it encounters this error and hence the nodemanager.properties file is also not getting generated.
    I have ensured that there are no spaces in the TEMP and TMP paths. I even tried creating and putting the nodemanager.properties file in the location but that too does not work.
    Strange part is that when I install Weblogic separately and have nodemanager as a windows service, then with the nodemanager.properties that I created the windows service runs, but the OBIEE installation still fails.
    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Subho

    My problem is "creating domain is failed". I guess that the issue with windows 7 32 bits on laptop doesn't configure and run nodemanager. I tried to start nodemanager but don't work (with weblogic scriptinf tools WST). However, Weblogic run ok but nodemanager is inactive. Also it doesn't create nodemanager.propierties. If I create a file nodemanager.properties (or I copied on directory obiee_home\ws_server_10.3\common\nodemanager) obiee installer configures its parameters pre-configured (if I modify a parameter, the installer modify it a default value and I don't know where is these parameters and its definition).
    I have installed obiee simple and enterprise and it don't work. I have installed on oracle 11g R2 (desktop and enterprise with datawarehouse) and obiee installer doesn't work. Further this installation obiee delay an hour and then generates error in my case "creating domain is failed".
    I'm going try to run install obiee 11.1.1.5 on windows 7 xp mode.
    Important: We need help of oracle experts or Oracle communicates if obiee installs or not on windows 7 32 bits laptop because We have wasted
    Thanks if anyone help us!!

  • Domain.xml gets screwed up

    Multiple times now, the Server is unable to start up. The last time it sat there, apparently in a loop greating over a 1 GB log file. Previously, I reinstalled Creator to solve the problem. The last time, I traced it to domain.xml.
    Fortunately there was a backup file that worked.
    However, I do not modify this file myself, and thus have no clue as to how to fix it. Creator manages this file, so when it gets screwed up, this is surely a bug.
    It is very frustrating, and usually occurs when my project has some error that does not allow it to deploy properly.

    Regards,
    Shiva.

    Hi,
    As you are using Fixed Length File...use below specified parameters:
    TA_830.fieldName:          Names of Fields in teh File
    TA_830.fieldFixedLegths: Lenghts as per your file
    TA_830.keyFieldValue:    If you use any value as key
    TA_830.lastFieldsOptional: YES
    TA_830.endSeparator :        'nl'
    This will help you out..
    Thanks,
    Kishore.

  • How do you add start parameters in opmn.xml with a command?

    I'm trying to make a shell script to install an OC4J automatically. What I need to do now is adding start-parameters to the opmn.xml. Obviously, I don't want to go into the file itself and manually add the text. Is there a command to set them?? Or is there any other way around this?
    I.e., I want to add -Duser.country=SE and -Duser.language=sv as below:
    <process-type id="OC4J_I413" module-id="OC4J" status="enabled">
    <module-data>
    <category id="start-parameters">
    <data id="java-options" value="-Doc4j.formauth.redirect=true
    -Dhttp.session.debug=true
    -Duser.country=SE
    -Duser.language=sv"/>
    </category>
    </module-data>
    </process-type>
    Thanks a lot!
    Kerstin

    Hi again,
    Solved the issue simply by editing the xml file with sed:
    VAR1='OC4J_I413\/config\/java2\.policy -Djava\.awt\.headless\=true -Dhttp\.webdir\.enable\=false -XX\:MaxPermSize\=128M -Xms512M -Xmx1024M -XX\:AppendRatio\=3\"\/\>'
    VAR2='OC4J_I413\/config\/java2\.policy -Djava\.awt\.headless\=true -Dhttp\.webdir\.enable\=false -XX\:MaxPermSize\=256M -Xms512M -Xmx1024M -XX\:AppendRatio\=3 -Duser\.country\=SE -Duser\.language\=sv\"\/\>'
    sed "s/$VAR1/$VAR2/" opmn.xml > Newopmn.xml; cp Newopmn.xml opmn.xml
    This is a text string that contains start parameters and it can be found here:
    <category id="start-parameters">
    <data id="java-options" value="-server -Djava.security.policy=$ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_I413/config/java2.policy -Djava.awt.headless=true -Dhttp.webdir.enable=false -XX:MaxPermSize=128M -Xms512M -Xmx1024M -XX:AppendRatio=3"/>

  • Critical: Adding session-config to web.xml cause application NOT to start

    I added the <session-config> element under <web-app> in web.xml:
    <session-config>
    <session-timeout>30</session-timeout>
    </session-config>
    Now the app won't start!
    The reason: the built-in sun app server removes context-root attribute from <web-module> element in domain.xml when the app tries to start!
    Please fix this ASAP, guys!

    I placed it in the wrong place. After following the instructions contained in the Technical FAQ (below), it worked.
    Add the following element in your web.xml file, placing it after the mapping for the error servlet and before the welcome file list:
    <session-config>
    <!-- Set global default timeout to 60 minutes -->
    <session-timeout> 60 </session-timeout>
    </session-config>

  • I need a copy of domain.xml

    I've wrongly changed some configurations in Admin Console -> HTTP Server -> HTTP Listeners->
    Then the server can't be started because of that. After I modified domain.xml, the sever starts, but deployment tool is still not working right.

  • BPEL Process Manager Oracle BPEL Domain Initialization Failed

    I was able to login into BPEL Process Manager without any error. Then I changed one entry in the oc4j-ra.xml file and restarted the BPEL server and started getting the error message.
    Oracle BPEL Domain Initialization Failed
    The Oracle BPEL Domain default did not initialize successfully. The following error was detected during startup. Please contact the Oracle Support
    Team if you are not able to resolve this problem.
    Reported Error:
    Cannot lookup jdbc datasource.
    The process domain was unable to lookup the TX datasource "eis/DB/DBConnection1".
    Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Additionally check that the
    connection pool properties as defined in the application server startup
    properties are valid.
    I put back the original oc4j-ra.xml back in appropriate dir , restarted the BPEL server and database server still getting the same errro message listed above, It's urgent can anybody post the possible solution/suggestion experience.
    Thanks

    I opened the file under
    ./application-deployments/default/DbAdapter/oc4j-ra.xml and it has the following entry
    <connector-factory location="eis/DB/DBConnection1" connector-name="Database Adapter">
    <config-property name="xADataSourceName" value="jdbc/DBConnection1DataSource"/>
    <config-property name="dataSourceName" value="loc/DBConnection1DataSource"/>
    <config-property name="platformClassName" value="oracle.toplink.platform.database.Oracle9Platform"/>
    <config-property name="usesNativeSequencing" value="true"/>
    <config-property name="sequencePreallocationSize" value="50"/>
    <config-property name="defaultNChar" value="false"/>
    <config-property name="usesBatchWriting" value="true"/>
    <connection-pooling use="none">
    </connection-pooling>
    <security-config use="none">
    </security-config>
    </connector-factory>
    I opened that file (
    ./connectors/DbAdapter/DbAdapter/META-INF/oc4j-ra.xml) and it has no entry for
    <connector-factory location="eis/DB/DBConnection1" connector-name="Database Adapter">
    <config-property name="xADataSourceName" value="jdbc/DBConnection1DataSource"/>
    <config-property name="dataSourceName" value="loc/DBConnection1DataSource"/>
    <config-property name="platformClassName" value="oracle.toplink.platform.database.Oracle9Platform"/>
    <config-property name="usesNativeSequencing" value="true"/>
    <config-property name="sequencePreallocationSize" value="50"/>
    <config-property name="defaultNChar" value="false"/>
    <config-property name="usesBatchWriting" value="true"/>
    <connection-pooling use="none">
    </connection-pooling>
    <security-config use="none">
    </security-config>
    </connector-factory>
    So I entered this and restarted the BPEL PM but still no luck,
    Is anything else I will be looking in that file let me know

  • CMC initialization of the GroupWise domain database failed (d705)

    I am trying to run a newly installed Webaccess agent against a new
    domain. I have been following The Caledonia Guide to Moving GroupWise. I
    am running SLES 10 SP3 and GW 8.2 HP2. I created the domain, installed
    the MTA and I am running that in a GUI to test. Everything looks fine
    there. I install the GW Webaccess agents and configure them. Still
    everything looks fine. When I run ./gwinter --show @webac80al.waa &, I
    get the following error.
    "GWINTER: CMC initialization of the GroupWise domain database failed (d705)
    GWINTER: CMC is shutting down...
    GWINTER: CMC is shut down
    GWINTER: Terminating WeAccess Server"
    I am running it as root.
    Has anyone seen this before?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Usually IIRC it means gwinter does NOT have access to your domain.
    Provide more information - the domain is local to the webaccess, right?
    what does webac80a1.waa show?

  • So what's the deal with missing context-root element in domain.xml?

    I see that this issue has come up in the past:
    If one hand modifies an application's web.xml file and tries to deploy using JSC, the application's corresponding web-module element's context-root gets nuked in the app server's domain.xml file. The only way I can get the server AND app to successfully run is to manually add context-root back in and manually restart the server (whether from JSC Deployment Server tree node or from the Start Menu (I'm running on XP Pro.) Trying to start either/both from the Run Project button on JSC recreates the problem. Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong? If bug, will this be addressed soon?

    Here's what I did:
    1. I created a simple HelloWorld JSF project & tested that it compiled, deployed & ran fine using built-in AppServer.
    2. Switched Project View to FileSystem view & opened src/web/WEB-INF/web.xml for editing
    3. Inserted security-constraint
        <!-- Security -->
        <security-constraint>
              <display-name>SecurityConstraint</display-name>
              <web-resource-collection>
                 <web-resource-name>WRCollection</web-resource-name>
                 <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
              </web-resource-collection>
              <auth-constraint>
                 <role-name>admin</role-name>
              </auth-constraint>
              <user-data-constraint>
                 <transport-guarantee>NONE</transport-guarantee>
              </user-data-constraint>
        </security-constraint>  4. Tried to deploy & get deplyment failure messages.
    5. Looking in to the %APPSERVERROOT%/domains/creator/config/domain.xml file shows that the HelloWorld webmodule line looks as follows:
    <web-module enabled="true" location="c:/Documents and Settings/Jake Ochs/My Documents/Creator/Projects/HelloWorld/build" name="_helloworld" object-type="user"/>(notice how "context-root" is missing & now needs to be added manually to getthe app to run again.
