Adding an additional monitor m

I have an 22" HP TouchSmart PC and I would like to have a second monitor attached to help me on some video tutorials. Is there a way to do that on my computer. If so, how? My email is [email protected]

hey,
i've recenty bought a usb->dvi adapter to my TS 600-1210. it works like a harm. I'm able to output mkv via extended desktop mode at full 1920x1080p@30 on my lcd tv, it consumes huge amount of cpu power but it works like there was a normal two headed graphic card inside

  • Mimo Monitor via USB and additional monitor via mini-display?

    Hi,
I currently have a 2009 MBP, with a second monitor I attach via the mini-display port. I'm thinking of adding a USB monitor like this one - http://www.mimomonitors.com/products/imo-pivot-touch
Will the MBP/OS X support this additional screen?

I think this question might best be addressed to the makers of the monitor. I imagine they must have tested it with MBPs, and perhaps also with additional monitors.
Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to use the tiny monitor for? Its screen is even smaller than the 1984 128K Mac's, though its resolution is slightly higher.

  • Adding 2 extra monitors

I'm running a Mac Pro Dual-Core Intel Xeon 2.66 GHz
    with an ATY, RadeonX1900
I've got an extra monitor plugged into the extra DVI out. How tricky is it to run TWO extra monitors; or what additional hardware would I require? Is there any way to run it from this setup without having to purchase a Kona (or similar) card?
    All ears...
    Ben

You can plug in as many monitors as you have video out ports. If you want more video ports, plug in more video cards. If you have three video cards with two ports each, you can connect six monitors. Mac OS doesn't make a distinction between adding a second monitor and adding a 15th or a 23rd, and it's been that way for years.
If you want to add monitors without buying more cards, you could possibly use one of the USB-based DisplayLink extenders like the ones Matrox makes. You would plug this into a USB port and plug your monitor into that. However, using one is kind of a waste of a Mac Pro because they are significantly slower than "real" video cards and lack advanced graphics support. If you are only using these external monitors for simple things like web and email windows, then a DisplayLink solution might be acceptable.

  • I am considering a Apple iMac but would be interested in adding a second monitor. Does it have to be an Apple monitor or can i add any monitor with a thunderbolt cable and DVI or vGA adapter?

I found that the Thunderbolt input accepts the mini-DVI (in my case converter to VGA for a tutorial use monitor)
BUT, you have to really oush it in 'til it clicks.  I thought it too loose until I tried it.  works just fine!!
i get a solved for my own  LOL

Is it possible for me to have two additional monitors attached to my iMac? Making it a total of three screens?

You would need a device similar to the below to do this:

  • Additional monitor and keyboard for IdeaPad U310

    Hi.
I want a new laptop and I'm thinking of buying U310, but I have some questions.
Now I have a desktop computer and a 23" monitor. I'd like to keep the monitor and wireless keyboard. Is it possible to connect them to U310 - I'd like to use external keyboard and 23" monitor while using U310 on my desk.
I use similar combination at work, but I have ThinkPad and docking station.
Is the combination of U310 and external keyboard & additional monitor possible?
    Thanx.

  • Running 2 additional monitors?

Hi there, running a new-ish 21.5" iMac. Already have one external monitor hooked up and running smoothly with the iMac display, wondering if there's any way I can hook a second one up at the same time. Maybe a pigtail splitter running from the display out? Dont want to spend money on hardware if I'm not sure I'll be able to use it.
    Thanks!

There is no easy standard way of attaching a second monitor to your iMac.
One option is usb to VGA or DVI adaptor which used DisplayPort technology, how ever from what i have ready you can't do anything graphic intensive like gaming on them.
Second Option is Matrox DualHead2Go or TrippleHead2Go, which allows 2 or 3 additional monitors to be connected. However all the additional Monitors are detected as one, which in scenarios for me defeated the purpose.

  • Adding one additional row to table control of VA01

    HI all,
I am working on free goods N:N senario which is not supported by sap standard.
so we have decided to club all the material on the basis of material group and PSTYV = 'tann' in the table control of va01 and at the end of tann we have to display the free goods .The user exit is USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_KOMP.
Please help in in adding the additional row in table control of va01 (TCTRL_U_ERF_AUFTRAG).
Even i have gone through all the thread in sdn and tried all the solution but none of the solution is working .
    plz quote solutions....
    thanks..
    Kundal.

    The user exit is USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_KOMP
Are you adding condition records, or adding free materials to VBAP?  If free materials to VBAP, you're in the wrong exit, I think....look for routines that allow you to add to internal table XVBAP in includes named like MV45AFZ*, and remember to set you UPDKZ to 'I'-insert if you're adding new rows.
Not sure what you mean by not supported by SAP standard;  SAP does support free goods, via config!

  • Trying to extend the WLAN range by adding an additional Airport Extreme second gen with Ethernet as backchannel.

    Hi,
I'm trying to extend the coverage of my home WLAN by adding an additional airport express. I want to use Ethernet as the back channel but whatever I do this ends up in a situation where the WLAN dies completely. I have been able to extend the range by using WLAN to WLAN extension but this reduced the bandwidth a lot.
I have an VDSL modem and uses a airport express as access router. with this unit operating by iteself everything works fine.
It is when I add a second airport express (both second gen) that I get in trouble.
Any idea of what goes wrong?

It is best to set up the extra AE to create a wireless network. You should use the same name (SSID) as you did when setting up the first one. Also use the same password and encryption.
Put the network channel selection on automatic or select different channels for both networks.

  • Adding a 3rd Monitor to a Power Mac G5

I am curious as to how - and if - I can add a 3rd monitor to my G5.
Currently I have an ATI 9650 Graphics Card and it runs my 2 23" CD wonderfully. I have been considering adding a 3rd monitor if possible and getting a 30" to have in the middle of the 23's.
Does anyone have knowledge or experience in doing this. It doesn't necessarily have to be a 30 in the middle, another 23 would suffice.
    Thanks in advance!!!

To my knowledge, the ATI 9600 PCI is currently the only PCI based
video card that can be used in the g5
This turns out not to be the case. Any 3.3 volt PCI card will operate in a G5 PCI slot. This should include Radeon 7000, 9000, and 9200 PCI cards. I'm using a PCI Raedon 7000 in my G5 this moment. With my 2-head 9600, I can run 4 displays.
    7000 PCI = VGA + DVI
    9600 AGP = ADC + DVI
I am skeptical that any PCI card has an ADC port. The PCI 2.x spec doesn't provide for powering an ADC monitor, so I suspect an ADC display can be driven from only an Apple-AGP slot or a standard PCI-Express slot.

  • Add additional monitor via USB

    Hi all,
I have recently bought the Matrox Dualhead2Go to connect two additional monitors to my MBP. The device works well and the performance is excellent and easy to set up, however I didn't realise that it would mean the mac see's both my monitors as one big display (in my case 3360x1050). This means that things like dialog boxes popup in the middle of the displays (between the bezels). The solution is fine but it's not quite ideal.
I was wondering if there is a solution out there to allow me to add an additional display that is treated as a seperate display using something like USB, so I could have one monitor plugged into thunderbolt and another monitor plugged via USB which will give me 2x 1680x1050 instead of just 1x 3360x1050.
There's some usb to vga/dvi adapters available but wanted to find out if this will work or if there are any recommendations?
    Thanks in advance,
    Scott.

    Hi Kelly,
    Apologies for the delayed response.
Unfortunately I did not find a real solution to deal with the dialogue boxes, however I do use a great Mac program called Moom (http://manytricks.com/moom) which has a lot of helpful features for managing and resizing/maximising windows, etc.
One of the features I use is the ability to nudge windows left or right by a specified amount of pixels and bind it to a button on my mouse.
I have it set up so one of my mouse buttons nudges the active window left and another button to nudge the window right. All this is really doing is avoiding having to continuously click and drag dialogue boxes when they appear in the centre of the screen and instead is just a mouse button press away.
Not a very elegant solution, but it does reduce my mouse mileage by not having to drag stuff around all the time.
    Hope this helps.

  • Syslinux with additional monitor and keyboard?

    Hi,
is it possible to use an additional monitor (and keyboard) with syslinux?
I have a Lenovo T500 laptop with a docking station attached to a second monitor and keyboard which are recognized after starting arch. As I'm using disk encryption, I have to type in the password under syslinux and it would be very nice if I could do it using the external keyboard and monitor.
    Best regards

WonderWoofy wrote:My machine allows me to set the default monitor in the bios.  I have a Thinkpad Edge E430.  I can choose between the laptop lcd, the HDMI, or the VGA.
Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, this did not work for me.
Strangely, the external keyboard is working in the syslinux menu, but not after that when I have to type in the pass-phrase. Maybe it has something to do with my syslinux.cfg?

I haven't bought an iMac yet, but am considering it. My one question is whether or not an additional monitor can be used with an iMac, to split the desktop.
