Adding an image (logo) to webi report

Seeking if possible to add an image (logo.jpg) to a webi report, as how to achieve this. thanks !!!!

The image inserted must be in either Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) or Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) format.
GIF format supports 256 colors and is useful if a logo or icon is to be inserted in to the document. It allows for background transparency so that the underlying color of the web page can show through. This is useful when inserting an image in a cell that contains data.
JPEG supports 16 million colors. It is best suited for photographs and complex graphics. JPEG images are static whereas GIF images can be animated.
Image files are often located on a secured web server on a corporate network. To insert an image in a report, link a selected area of the report to an image file on the web server either by filename or by URL and filename.
To solve the above issue follow the below steps:
To link to the images by filename, type the filename in to the cell (for example, <INSTALL DIR>\Images). WebIntelligence automatically adds boimg:// before the filename. This links to the file on the BusinessObjects server (for example: boimg://image.gif).
Usie the URL and the filename to insert the image when the image files are located on a separate web server. The entire URL and filename is entered in to the cell (for example, http://www.internal.businesscompany.com/images/company_logo.jpg).
The image"s size is defined when it is created. The size can not be modified using WebIntelligence.

Error when trying to isert Image in BO WebI report

        I am trying to insert company logo in WebI report. I saved the image in BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Images folder in C drive. Path is
C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Images
There are two images here,
                              one -BO logo   skin_bo.gif
and the other my company logo    logo.gif
This is the path i gave in BO Webi
In the report-> free cell-> custom->boimg:
skin_bo.gif
When i try to insert BO delivered logo, it is fine, the image is inserted into the report. But, when i try to insert company logo, I see blank, image is not displayed.
Please let me know what the error is and solution.

These images are on server or client.make sure these images are on the server in mentioned path.

ProcessdpCommandEx error when adding or removing object from WebI report (based on BEX query) query panel object list

Hi,
We have WebI reports build on BEX using BAPI connectivity. When we are trying to add a object in query panel in a existing report we are getting this ProcessdpCommandEx error. But error does not appear when we add at the end of the list of objects already added.
Can you calrify whether this could be some setting issue or it is a known bug?
Can you share SAP Note No in case it is a known bug?

This error occurs in case of any failure in the connectivity. It is like the data providers are not getting processed.
You have mentioned that the issue does not come with newly created reports
Are you creating new reports on migrated universe or a newly created universe?
If issue only comes with migrated universe, please check if the connection has been migrated properly and required middleware and database connectors are in place.
If connections are in place, try importing and exporting the universe once and check.
In case, new report works fine with migrated universe, then you can simply try to re-point the universe by editing the query and can run it again and check.

Adding an image from the web to the report in the header with other Text

I am attempting to fix a Crystal Report where I have a Logo positioned in the upper left corner of the Report Header. The Report Header also includes 2 text fields. One is fixed data and the other is a date. I have mastered the img src but I cannot get the two text fields to display to the right of the image. They will always push to the line below. I have tried putting them in different sections and underlying the next section, and all other settings that I can think of. What I must have would be similar to this:

Image
| . "DATE"
I have even tried suppressing all headers and using multiple detail sections to no avail. I am using Crystal Reports 2008

I have found the answer or should I say the cause of my problem. It is that Microsoft in their infinite wisdom have changed the way (or engine) their Outlook (post version 2003) handles html. They now use the "engine" from their 'Word' program which cannot handle most compound formatting. To handle this program, you have to build it all on one level. To solve my Header problem, I was forced to recreate my graphic to include the Header text, place that graphic on the top of the page and build my form below, an entire line at a time. Multiple objects on the same line would look great in Outlook prior to '2007' but may be in any order or grouping in '2007' and after See this explanation...

Images disappered from WebI reports

Hi,
No image (any type .gif, .jpg) is getting displayed in Web Intelligence XIR2 reports. The issue is with all the reports and apart from customized logo; default BusinessObjects logo/skin also doesnu2019t get displayed.
This has happened suddenly (was working previously) however no changes have been done in BO installation or on system. The issue is not user or machine specific, occurs on server as well.
The images are stored on the required location i.e. Install Dir/Program files/BusunessObjects 11.5/Images on server. Not using clustered environment.
Please advice.

Thank you for the response.
To point out the image URL path I used the following steps:
1. Place the image in a separate virtual directory and make sure you can access the image file from the browser just by typing in the correct
URL.
2. Use an absolute path in the Web Intelligence report. For example: http://webserver/images/mylogo.gif
However I am getting the following error message:
'HTTP Status: /images/filename.gif'
'The requested resource /images/filename.gif is not available'.

Adding a linked logo to Web Gallery?

Is it possible to add that to the Web Gallery (it will return to the home page), along with the images in the thumbnails? I'm using CS1

So long as you know some rudimentary HTML, that is.
You can't do this using Photoshop's tools, though. You'll have to add the simple code to the pages. The HTML code can be edited in just about any text editor.
Here's a sample bit of code that you could start with:
<a href='http://www.Your_Server.com/Your-Home-Page.html'><img src='http://www.Your_Server.com/ImagesFolder/logo-image-you-want-people-to-click-on.jpg'></a>
Of course, the URLs are just generically descriptive...you'd have to edit them to reflect your own locations and file names.
If you need more help with the HTML, you might be better off asking in the Dreamweaver forum.

I am facing an issue after converting DeskI report to WebI (BO3.1 to BO 4.0).
I have a logo in my DeskI report and once I convert that report, logo available in that report becomes backgroup of complete page. You can think of Watermark feature of MS Word 2010 (available in Page Layout menu).
The intriguing part is that if in the Preference for Web Intelligence, I select View mode as -> Web then I get this issue but if I select View mode as -> Rich Client Application then I do not face this issue.
I tried different options to resolve this issue such as removing logo from header, applying different image as backgroup for Header, Footer and Body part etc.. but could not resolve it.
Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue.

Nope, it seems there is bug in BO 4.0 so RCT is not interpreting Logo properly.
What I did is, I removed the logo from the DeskI report and then converted it.
After report got converted we added logo in WebI report.
As it was not tedious task we did not mind to do this work.

Place your logo in the location: <BO Installation dir>\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\images folder. (If you are using XIR2, it will be BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5 instead of BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0)
Drag a blank cell in the report and enter the formula boimg://image_name for that cell. Make sure that in the display property of the free standing cell, the option read cell content as is set to Image URL.
You have to adjust the size of the cell to fit the logo.

Change of image in web reports (MIME repository : SE80)

Hello,
i want to replace company logo in web reports.
i have changed the logo (image) through MIME repository in SE80 transaction, but i am unable to see the unchanged logo on portal/web reports.
What can be the issue. Is there any setting anywhere that needs to be done?

supported ex:

Not supported Example:
   "company logo.jpg"
   "company_logo.JPG"
   "Company_Logo.Jpg"
Concerning the missing images in the WAD please check, if the images
are available in the Mime Repository:
Transaction SE80 -> MIME Repository -> SAP -> BW -> BEx ->
Publisher -> GIFS -> WebItem_Previews -> e.g. "broadcast_prev.gif"

Hyperlink on image within webi report

Hello,
is there a way to add a hyperlink on an image within a webi report?
I tried placing an image in a separate column and checked Read content as hyperlink and placed the link .
but unable to click on the image.Placed jpg image.
I am using BO 4.0 sp6

Images as Hyperlinks in webi reports

Hi,
I’m trying to link two webi reports (summary through Details) through Open doc syntax using Images in a cell.
We have a requirement to link two webi reports (summary through Detail) using buttons (like Back & email) as images which will be embedded in to the cell and made hyperlink.
I found many articles on "Hyper linking on the images" between 2 webi reports (summary to detail) using open doc syntax which did not help much. So I am starting a new thread.
I’ve 2 scenarios happening, after the images being placed on the server - (…/usr/bobj/<installation Directory>/enterprise/images) –
1st Scenario – Right click on the cell contents, make it read as “hyperlink” and set appearance to “boimg://image-name.png”
Result: Image appears and there is no link. Cursor does not changes or no place to click.
2nd Scenario – Read the image directly into Ahref tag as - <img src=\” boimg://image-name.png\”>
Result: The link works perfectly fine. But, in the image place holder, a big “RED X” appears.
The steps -
- Placed a blank cell
- Right click -> Appearance -> Image from Address: boimg://image-name.png
- Read contents as "Hyperlink" (at this point, tested the cell, image appears fine, but no link appears!)
- Right Click on the same cell -> Document Link -> pass the values of the related objects -> Parse
- Also Include the <img src=\” boimg://image-name.png\”> in the AHref tag generated by the system after open doc call
- In the cell, both the image and the big RED X appears - image does not have a link and the big red X has link but no image. So basically nothing works!
We are on BO 4.1 SP1.
Experts please help!

You can try the below steps which are pretty simple. It worked fine for me. For this I used an image object placed in ROOT directory of a web application server.
1.
Add a blank cell
2.
Right-click on the blank cell and select “Format cell”
3.
Under “General” specify Read content as “Hyperlink”
4.
Apply >> OK
5.
Right click on the cell >> "Edit Formula" >> Use the following formula
="<html><a href='http://localhost:8080' target='_blank'><img src = 'http://localhost:8080/sample.png' /></a></html>"

Issues while saving the Webi Report locally in pdf and Excel Format

Hi,
I am getting issues with the images on a Webi Report when I try to save the reports locally on my machine in either a pdf format or in an Excel Format.
I think the issue is that when I am trying to save the report it saves the address of the image binded in the report but it doesn't save the image/download the image and when the report is opened locally it couldn't refer to the image location.
I am using BOXIR2 with SP2.8.
I am not sure what should be the right solution for this. Any insight or resolution will definitely be helpful.

I would investigate on the load balancer and/or Apache front end servers, are you sure you don't have a keep alive setting enabled somewhere on one of these servers? in the Tomcat connector maybe?

Image Quality In Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010

I am using the new production release of Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 and I am having an issue with image quality when adding an image to a crystal report.
The image itself is a .TIF file, and when opened in Windows, the quality of the image, which is mostly text, is very high. The image was created from a electronic PDF form and I intend to use this as a background for the crystal report, over which I will place data fields.
As soon as the image is added to the report you can see the degradation in quality in the design window and in the preview window within visual studio. The quality remains low when viewing the report in the WPF report viewer and when printing from this control.
I have ensured the "Retain Original Image Color Depth" option is checked but this has made no difference (the image is black and white anyway).
The image in the report has been left at its native size, no resizing at all. The image is 355KB in size if that's relevant.
Is there a reason the image looses quality when added to a report? Is it being compressed? More importantly, is there a way to make the image retain its native quality when adding it to a crystal report?

The following image is the image I am trying to display. Although imageshack has converted it to a png, if you right click and save the image you can open it and zoom in with little image degradation.

I am new to this forum, i am not sure whether i have asked the question to the right group our not.
Here is my question,
I have a situation where in i have to add a logo for each company based on the selection of the company name.
The things which I have done:
For that i have stored all the company logo as bmp file in the server. I have created an object in the universe to fetch that information(url) from the table but while preparing the Web intelligence report, i am getting the logo as a url. Even after changing the format to "image url"
could anyone give me a solution for this?

to add an image to the Webi
1) add your images in this folder" C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Images" in a jpg format lets say " myimage.jpg"
2) add a free standing cell to the web report.
3) in the properties of this cell , go to background image , click custom , write the name of the image "myimgae.jpg" by default it will wirte to you "boimg://myimage.jpg" and it will show you your image in the box
4) configure the properties of the image like, position and border, etc.
