Adding an URL to the Favorites

Hi,
We have a web application for which there are 100's of users.
Most of them do not know how to add an URL to the Favorites in
the IE.Any ideas like creating a batch file and emailing it to
them so that it adds the URL to the favorites when they click
on it .Thanks in advance.

I just tried this in CS6 (which should be the same, I hope), and it works fine. Select the whole of a file, and start recording a new favourite. I selected Normalization, set it to -1dB, applied it, deselected the file, and stopped the favourite recording. Gave it a name, tried it on another file, and it's fine.
There is no editing of favourites, as such. If you don't like one you delete it and start again.
If yours didn't work, did you apply it before stopping the recording of it? If you don't do that, I think it will fail.

Change URL of Portal favorites

Hello,
Is there any way to change the URL of user favorites stored in KM?
I have a few BI users who have saved many BEX Portal favorites using Web Analyzer. Unfortunately due to a change in the portal role assignment he can no longer access his favorites and it shows page cannot be found. The reason being we were earlier rolling our Portal roles and Reports using Portal Groups. Users would be assigned to Portal groups which in turn would be linked to the individual Portal Roles. Recently we started assigning Portal Roles directly to user ids.
Surprisingly and I dont know why the favorites link create by the users include the portal group id as well in the url. We have to manually modify those favorites link so that the portal groups can be removed.
When I navigate to root->user home-> <user> -> favorites I have view all the favorites created by the user, I can modify and see properties but there is no way I can change the "Content Link" URL path under the "Access Links" tab. There is also a Miscellaneous tab which has a bookmark_id = D7NQ1PKD34N4RMYJ8MYUJCSTY and template_name = ZANALYSIS_PATTERN.
I tried searching the bookmark_id on the ABAP stack in table SMEN_BUFFC but no luck.

I dont understand what you mean by "adding permissions" please elaborate. Are you talking about adding "Full Control" to the Favorite links? Please note the user is able to see their favorites in the KM Portal Favorite iView but they cannot get to the page using the link stored in those favorites since the link has the name of portal group embedded in it becuase they were assigned to those portal groups before. Now they are just assigned to the portal roles directly.

I have question in design the workflow, my scenario is as follows : I develop the workflow in the sap gui ,then integrate it into the portal using uwl . now i want add a link in the work item ,before approver excute the work item ,the approver can click the url to view the detail approval information ,and the system popup a web window which link to the pcui application . and someone advise me to maintain the href in the work item text ,but i have no iead on it ?can anybody give me some advices or sample material ?thanks in advance .

If we talking about adding an URL in the GUI workitem display you can proceed as follows:
1. In the workitem text editor, change the editor to line editor (Goto -> Change editor)
2. enter the tag /* (Usually used for comments) to the left
3. enter the URL on the line as follows <a href=http://www.cnn.com> click here</a>

I synced my android and my desktop and adding a favorite on the desktop is syncing with android. In the other way i can't find the favorite on my desktop

From desktop to android is working perfectly. Then i added a favorite on the phone and i can not find the favorite on the desktop. I also clicked the sync button under settings on the phone to be sure that the phone is synced.
still can not find the favorite. On the phone i can find the favorite and a folder "Desktop-Favorites" it's translated so can look different in the english version.
Under Desktop-Favorites i can find all my stuff from the desktop.
Somebody has the same problem or i am blind or sync is just one way ?

Sync is both ways so there's something not working as intended. It could be that the computer hasn't synced yet, to confirm this, you can press the Sync Now button in the Firefox button (if you are in Mac it's under "Tools").
If after that it doesn't work, I will recommend you to check in the logs if there's something that is not being downloaded to your computer. How do I get to the Favorites bar after adding a show to favorites?

I have added numerous tv shows to my favorites but cannot find where the favorites area is on my apple tv.

When you add TV shows as favourites, a favourites option is added to the menu that goes across the top of the screen in the tv shows option.

I'm trying to display the contents of a URL in the base OA Framework page by specifying the URL in URLInclude item, but the page times out once this item is added.
I also tried using a java code to read the contents of a URL and display the contents in the base page, but there again the page times out.
Has anyone faced this issue with use of URLInclude. Should there be any property set within applications to bypass proxy or something similar in order to read the contents of an external URL. Please throw some light on the possible reasons as to why specifying the URL will cause the page to time out. The URL that I'm specifying has only 2 sentences in there, so it is not a big page that we are trying to read here.

Where does Speed Dial store the urls of the sites added in Speed Dial?

Hi, i am using Ubuntu 10.04 . I need to know the urls of the websites i stored in the Speed Dial of firefox. Is it possible ?

The details are stored a file called prefs.js inside the Firefox profile folder. That file also stores many of the Firefox preferences. For details of the location of the profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
With Speed Dial on display, if you hover the mouse over a thumbnail, it will show the URL.

How do I find out the URL of the page a document was downloaded from?

I downloaded a PDF several months ago; I can see it in my downloads history. When I right click it there, I see the link to the PDF itself, but I need to know the actual page it came from.
I've checked my History, but cannot identify the page.
Is there a definitive way of determining the URL of the page that linked to the document?

Open the Download Manager window and select that file.
Copy and paste this code in the Code field in the Error Console and click the Evaluate button.

The code adds a tooltip to the area with the file type icon at the left hand side of each entry in the DM window and shows a tooltip when you hover that area. 
It only works for entries that are currently visible in the DM and not for new entries that are added by downloading files and only as long as the DM window is kept open, so you need to rerun the code in the Error Console to get a tooltip.

Short URL in the Form of Text Message like SDN for Enternal Facing Portal

For the External Facing Portal, We are using the Light Frame work with Light Top Level Navigation and customized it for look and feel.
When we publish the Anonymous User role for the EFP, and navigate through the roles, The Portal URL is getting added with Short URL's (NavigationTaeget.....)
How to make this Short URL's in the form of Text Messages like example in SDN
After clicking the Forums the URL shown is like https://sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/forums instead of Short URL.
We are looking for some thing same.

Short URL is automatically created by portal.
So you cant make the short URL in the form of text message.Refer the following link

URL of the current portal page loaded using Javascript ?

I am trying to add programmatically the url of the current
page loaded in the portal to the 'Favorites List'. There
is a pre-built KM iview to store your 'favorites'.
I can extract and write to this 'favorites' using KM java
API. But only challenge is to extract the current loaded
page URL and title using Javascript.
I would appreciate any help in this regard.

Basically, what this does is that everytime a page loads, the innerpage, where the content is, raises an event using the EPCM.raiseEvent() method. EPCM.subscribeEvent subscribes to an event called AddNavTargetAllowDuplicate which has an object holding the page information (i.e. page title and URL (ROLE://...)). Everytime that it notices an event raised, the function getPageObject gets called to go get data from the event object that is available globally in the framework.
You should be able to put this code anywhere in any iview and it should work. Thou i have only tried putting it in the masthead. Try and if you still have questions please let me know.

Is it possible to add UNC paths to the favorites menu with a batch script?

Hi all,
at present the office I work in uses mapped drives, this works well for people in our office but one people talk with the other offices things go south as they have no idea what a t drives is. So I would like to move my users away from the mapped drive and
add the folder locations to the favorites menu.
Short of making the shortcuts and asking each person to copy them in to the folder location there must be a way to write a script to do this? I have looked at using mklink but that failed.

How do I place a remote url in the table of contents?

Hi,
We were recently customizing icons for our WebHelp output, and in doing so discovered the option to customize an icon for Remote URL. It can be found by navigating to the Skin Editor:

Changing the icon was easy. But I can't figure out how you place such a remote URL so that it appears in the book hierarchy and table of contents? I tried placing it in the HTML Files in the Project Manager pod, but don't see any option to accomplish it that way.
Coudl anyone please share how this is accomplished?

If you open the TOC pod, there should be a button for adding a new TOC page. In the dialog box that displays, you should be able to set a URL rather than a project topic.

Where are the favorites list in the apple tv?

i add a podcast to the favorites but afterwards i cannot find where the favorites menu is in the latest ios for appletv 2. So where are they?

i go to internet then podcasts there are only 4 menus and no favourites menu

i am adding favs by finding a podcast (i have done this to a few) and choosing add to favorites then the add to favorites menu choice changes to remove from favorites so it must be added somewhere. still no list anywhere
the only menu i can find any sort of favorites is under youtube but the podcasts are not added there only youtube ones
I can add a radio staion to favourites and it creates a new menu under radio staions called favorites so it seems to only be podcast favorites that are missing
