Adding articles to Folio

Hi,
I've been having trouble adding articles to the folio.
When adding article I get the error message "app.exportMiniFolio is not a function" however after closing down the applicaiton the article does appear to be there. Is anyone else having the same issue?
I've read through the forum and done all the suggestions related to the "app.exportMiniFolio is not a function" error reference. However, I'm still getting the message.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

After trying everything else suggested on the forum this piece of advice worked solved the problem.

i make this for fix the MTHF4K!! app.exportMiniFolio error:
1. go to adobe Extencion manager 5.5
2. disable the Digital Publishing
3. close the inDesign 5.5
4. restar your machine
5. open your ID 5.5 and close it
6 then return to Extencion manager and reactive the Digital Publishing extencion
7. open ID 5.5 and VOILA !!!

Problem with Folio Builder - added articles are "spinning"

Hello,
today we are experiencing strange problems with Folio Builder. We are adding new artcles to folio created today and all added articles have same issue - spinning wheel in folio builder. Such articles we can't see in Content viewer until we delete existing folio.

Hi,
Could be that there was a network problem when uploading the InDesign documents.
Try to select the articles and delete them with the trashcan. And then reupload the documents from InDesign.

Error adding/importing articles to folio builder

I'm receiving the dreaded "The Indesign file for the layout cannot be found. Please relink the article to the desired source files." My folder location is also "invalid". This is received whether I'm importing or adding to a folio. I haven't moved any files. I can't find a recent post with a fix that works for me. I'm working at home on my own Mac. How do I fix this?

Sounds like something got hosed, somewhere.
Try trashing your InDesign preferences.

Missing Articles in Folio Producer

I'm working on my first multi-folio app (Enterprise account) and I've built my folio and added articles in the Folio Builder panel in InDesign. Now I'm in the Folio Producer: Editor and none of my articles are showing up. The names I've given each article in the article properties are there, but no article thumbnail.
What am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to publish it. It's a free, public app.
I will delete the folio and try again.
What I have done so far is:
Created the folio and article in InDesign
Enrolled in iOS Developer program
Created certificates
Tested certificates
Registered my test iPads
Created an App ID
Created mobileprovision files
Created required assets (icons, splash pages, etc.)
Built the app with DPS app builder
Downloaded the .ipa file
Installed it on my iPad
Opened the app icon on my iPad, all I see is the splash page and then this:

How can i make buttons in an article to go for other articles in Folios Builders for Ipad?

I am trying to make buttons in an index, for goingo to other articles, but they never worked here. When a i put Go to Destination, and choose de Indd file, it does not work.
Can i make a scrollable frame a button either? When i tryed, it did not work, not even the button, and the scrollable frame.
Please, need some help here.

WHat is navto? is navegate to...? How can i do this?

Go to destination is unsupported in DPS. You should be using go to url with a navto: command.

Added Articles and ran snapshot, but the new tables not showing up

I have a publication that is running on 2012 SQL server. I added several tables, some stored procedure and some views. Then I selected 'view snapshot agent service' and selected start. It says running, and then says '9 articles published'
(or something like that) but the number is incorrect. It should be a LOT more than that. Then when I look at the subscriber, it doesn't have the new tables. Thanks for any help you can offer.

After creating a new snapshot did you start synchronizing the subscriptions which applies the schema and data for the newly
added articles

Adding article replication

Hi TechNet friends,
I'm in the midst setup replication (transactional - pull type) between 2 sql servers.
sql1 = as publisher
sql2 = as distributor & subscriber as well.
I have done setup distributor at sql2 with no error, success all the way.
Now i'm at creating publication at sql1 where I currently stuck at adding article, showing in progress more than 2 hours. It hang at adding article 14 from total 197 articles (I only replicate table). so far configuring 'distributor' and creating 'publication'
status is success.
Pending 'adding article' which is progress and 'starting snapshot agent' once adding article completed.
Please advice why this happen to me.

I suspect there is problem with the permission. Can check the permission once and it should meet the minimum pre-requisite?

The Windows account under which the agent runs is used when it makes connections to the Distributor. This account must:
At minimum, be a member of the db_owner fixed database role in the distribution database.
Have read, write, and modify permissions on the snapshot share.
The account that is used to connect to the Publisher must at minimum be a member of the db_owner fixed database role in the publication database.

Error with Folio Builder - Adding Article

I have downloaded the latest Folio update and am using 12.3.3 with CS5.5
When I try to upload an article to my folio, I get the error message - An error has occured while updating article layouts. the InDesign file cannot be found
How do I fix this ??
Adding open InDesign article and Importing both do not work

Unless you have a specific reason for using an older viewer version, use the most current version.
Use an older viewer (such as v20) if you need to publish folios for an older custom viewer app that you've submitted to the app store but haven't updated.
For example, let's suppose that you have a v21 viewer in the Apple App store, and you want to publish a new folio. If you publish a v23 folio, your customers will get a "Please update your app" error message when they try to download it. But if you publish a v20 or v21 folio, your customers can download it just fine.

Path-based sidecar.xml adding more articles to folio

Hi -- I've created a path-based sidecar that works great. Now I want to add more articles to the folio. How do I do that? If I upload the whole works again through "Import using sidecar.xml," does it write over the existing articles? If I "Import as single articles," the new content, how do I get a new sidecar file in there?

Hi again Tomek -- I'm back on this project and have failed at using your technique to upload a new sidecar.xml file after adding another article to my folio. I updated the xml, and moved it into a folder as instructed. That folder had no name for my first try, then I tried naming it sidecar.xml. Neither worked when I went to the Builder, selected Import Multiple Articles and picked just that folder. I got the attached error msg. I must be doing something wrong.
Update: Since I'm using path-based xml, I had to edit the code to have it update the meta and NOT load the articles again. I found this in the Help pages for v31:
To update metadata in existing articles, edit the sidecar.xml file, insert the <metadataUpdateOnly/> element immediately after the <sidecar> element, and then import the sidecar.xml file using the "Import Using sidecar.xml" option in the Import Article dialog box.
It worked. Also, the xml file is NOT in a folder by itself. Thought you'd like to know.

Importing articles in Folio Builder

Hi All,
I've been running in to an issues while trying to update an exisiting foilo.
The orginal folder that has been imported shows up as gray when I try to add addition article.
Basic steps for me to replicate:
1) With InDesign open a new Folio is created
2) Using the "Import Mutltiple Articles" I select the main folder as to where all the stacks are. All articales are imported and uploaded fine.
3) Now lets say a new stack is added or an amendment is made to the main folder.
4) I then go back to the Folio Builder and regardless if I use "Import a Single Article" or "Import Mutltiple Articles" when I broswe to the main folder it shows up as Gray and I'm unable to access it...
I find that closing and reopening InDesign fixes this issue but of course this is not ideal...
Or I can create another main folder but again when the items are imported from this new main folder it then causes the problem of being gray for future stacks...
Is this normal (intended)? Do others have this issue?
Aditional info:
10.7 & 10.8 (lastest updates)
Adobe InDesign CS5 (7.0.4)
Folio Builder Panel (Lastest Version)
Folio Producer Tools (Version 21. also tested on 22 and 23)

Single Edition DPS adding articles, FEES?

If I publish a folio with my single edition through the cloud that has 5 articles, can I add 4 more articles to that same folio at a later date? And then add 2 more articles at another date? And if I can, do I just delete that folio and upload the new one? What would the workflow be to do this? and MOST IMPORTANT, what if any fees/costs are involved in doing this.

You cannot add articles once your app is approved by Apple but yes can add articles even after publishing folio.There is no need to delete folio and can use same folio.
The workflow of DPS Single edition is different from other editions thus there is difference in publishing process. You can only publish as private and then you will have to export the Zip file from Folio producer which you already did as you wrote. Now that same zip has to be imported in Viewer Builder while building your custom viewer.
You need first use your Serial key to activate the build, then you can download the developer.ipa to test it on your iPad, remember that your Mobile provisioning file should have your iPad’s UDID added to make it work on your iPad. You can only use the serial key one, you would not be able to reset or make changes after you have used the key, thus for basic testing, use Adobe content viewer and use the serial key only on finalized content.
With Single Edition, you do not pay download fees. Download fees apply only to multi-issue apps created by Pro and Enterprise customers. Since the content is embedded inside the App, and Adobe does not host your folio or content. DPS Single Edition is 395$. That all you need to pay. You can also purchase CCM subscription in which you can build unlimited single issue apps.

Different page sizes in same article or folio

Hi
Is it possible to have pages with different sizes in the same article or articles with different sizes inside a .folio?
I saw something like this in last edition of Wired magazine in the Table of content (4th article) and Wired.com section (6th article). Or is it made in another way?
I tried to apply different page sizes in the pages panel and changing the page size of the document, but when updating the article I got error messages like [Error: Multiple page sizes within a document are not supported.] or [Error: The page size aspect ratio must match the folio aspect ratio.].

Those are separate articles. You asked about the different sizes in the same article. I missed the part about different size articles…sorry.
You can use smooth scrolling with longer articles but they have to be single pages. Make sure to turn smooth scrolling on and use the _h or _v suffix with the file names.

Looping HTML articles in Folio Builder Indesign CS6

I've build a HTML folio using jQuery animations. Everything works great in Folio Builder (I can import the article and preview it on my devices etc.) But when I add a loop to my animations Folio Builder never completes the uploading process when I try to import the article.
Does anyone now how to solve this?

Folio panel drop menu won't drop - can't update articles in folio

I am having trouble with the drop menu on the Folio Builder panel. In the past it has worked completely normally, but today it won't drop at all. Which means I can't update any files, or rename articles etc...
This started yesterday ... so I uninstalled Indesign and downloaded again. It worked. This morning I am trying to continue working on the project and the drop menu wont drop again.
I have reset Indesign preferences... and that still doesnt make the drop menu come back..
any ideas...

This is still a big problem and with the Single Edition licence ending soon, InDesign not functioning as it should be is quite stressful..
No one has answered this question. I have read through past threads and no one has answered others questions about this topic either...
When I try to update an article there is no menu available in the drop menu of the folio.
I have restarted Indesign several times.
I uninstalled and re-installed it again...
I have reset preferences over and ove,r and by the way the default black theme is horrible
It doesn't matter which document in which folio I try to update - the drop menu isn't available.
The documents have gone up to the cloud - I can see current documents there, so the files are synchronizing properly... It is the folio panel that is the culprit...
I am using build 10.2.0.69 of release 2014.2
Does anyone out there, in the world, anywhere, have any suggestions how to get the drop menu back into the folio?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
