Adding AS2 animation

I have an animation which has Actionscript 2 code in it. And when I import it in the Captivate 6, it doesnt work. Can anyone let me know, how do I make it work???

Hmmm I see, I kind of knew that.. But was still trying mu luck .
Well, I have the flash file, but I dont know Actionscript 3 to chnage it.

I just tried adding the files as attachments; however I didn't like doing that because it increased the file size of my PDF document quite a bit.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with the "Insert Object" command in MS Word, but I want to do the same thing in my PDF document...but the key is, anyone must to be able to open the embedded file from any location.
I created an MS Word document with several embedded objects. I was later asked to PDF the Word document, but since embedded MS Word objects do not migrate to the PDF, I am now trying to embed the same files I embedded into my Word document into my PDF document over top of the icon image. The file types I'm trying to embed include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF. Does this make more sense? I want to create a hyperlink over top the icon image that was PDF'd from the MS Word document which allows any user to click on the link and open the separate file.

I Updated my Photo Collage Toolkit for Photoshop Adding an Animated Snow Globe Action, Template and Video Demo.

While the toolkit works with CS2 through CS6. The SnowGlobe template require CS5 or CS6 for easy moving.
There is also a Bug in CS6 Scripting. CS6 is the buggiest version of Photoshop ever released. Adobe failed to add "Bicubic Automatic" support into Photoshop's scripting DOM. If your Photoshop "Interpolation" preference is left set to Adobe's new default setting "Bicubic Automatic" some Photoshop Scripts will fail with an internal scripting error.
Before CS6 if you wanted to use a particular interpolation method transforming a layer you needed to change Photoshop Preference to do that. In CS6 Adobe has added an interpolation method to some forms of transform. However to use a particular interpolation method while transforming a smart object layer your still required to do this the old way. It is not possible to retrieve and restore a users Photoshop interpolation preference using Adobe's scripting DOM when the current setting is "Bicubic Automatic". The above script will fail in CS6 if your Photoshop interpolation preference is "Bicubic Automatic".

• iMovie ill behaving - Trash the iMovie pref file - use to set things right
• in reg. to Photos - Did You change iPhoto Photo Library - Then iMovie get's lost as it peeks into iPhoto on start up to see where photos are stored. Set iPhoto back to first Photo Library (when iMovie is not running) then start iMovie.

Adding Edge animation to my website background

Hi
I am stuck with adding the animation I made on Adobe Edge to my website background. My website background has an image which size is set to cover, to it scales according to browser window and has also fixed position.
My goal is to get my animation instead of ths background image (animation is as simple as it can get). The best that I've managed was to get the animation on the page but it was not covering the browser windoe AND it pushed all the content that was supposed to be on it, away.

You can see that it the content is horizontally scrolling and the backgrond mage is fixed. That's what I like my animation to be, behind the content, fixed and cover the browser window on resize.
PLEASE help me, Im stuck and don't know what to do

I don't know for sure what they are using for a background (If you expand the browser window on their site, you will see a shark "swimming" in the background) but you might want to ask.

Adding swf animation to Captivate Slide

Hello Forum Members,
I have a problem. I just used Flash (CS3 Pro) to make a small
animation that moves a few objects
across the stage, and has glow filters, etc. I have also
added eventlisteners for mouse over and mouse out on this swf. The
swf plays fine in standalone mode (in Flash Player, etc). I have an
object that gets created via action script in this swf as well as
objects already on the stage (design time).
I then insert this swf file into a Captivate (3.0) slide -
the animations do not play correctly, my object that gets created
in the swf timeline never appears, and the rollover/out actions do
not play. Am I not understanding the capability of Captivate to
"play" Flash animations? I was hoping to use this flash element in
my Captivate project.

Thanks for your reply! Here's a better explanation of my end goal.
I want to create a software simulation. I want my question to look and
function interactively in a limited way just like the piece of software. I
will then ask them to do a task using this software and mark them correct if
they finish it correctly.
For example, if I was using MS Word I want a master slide that includes the
menu drop downs and hover effects that would match the actual program. I
could use those over and over and each question just add the content unique
for the question.
Does that make sense? Can Captivate do that?

The example is nothing more than an animated layer added on top of the video. If you already know the basics what are you specifically having problems with?

Combining AS2 animation in AS3 CP4 project

I realize this is a no-no, and the message told me so in CP4, but I was able to get an AS2 built flash animation to work and publish in an AS3 CP project. The message, if I remember right, was 'you may experience unexpected results' or something to that effect. My question is: if I can get them to work as animated intros to the modules running as standalones, why can't I get them to work in an Aggreagtor file? What happens when aggreagted is that the flash intros simple bog down. They start out playing correctly the first time, but as you navigate the TOC the animated intro starts playing slower and slower. It's as if the previous version are still playing the in the background and just run out of memory/cache or something.
What I'm wondering is, could the problem be that the animations just simply aren't stopping? If so, is it possible to insert a command to stop?
Anyone have any ideas?

I was able to get them to play 'satisfactorily' in CP 4 in single .swf- Not aggreagated. The larger problem was in Aggreagator. I had huge issues with aggregator, and adobe told me to upgrade to CP5 to solve that problem. Not sure that probelm is solved because now I have even more problems with the existing files-captions, graphics not displaying correctly. So for the time being, this AS2 AS3 issue is on the sidelines.
If I ever get to that oint again, I'll see If I can send a link.

Adding a animated Gif

I have been trying to install a animated gif into my page in fireworks and it keeps on animating the entire page, can some please explain how to do this so the gif runs independently. I have tried putting it in a seperate layer and a slice and it still doesn't work. Thanks..

Linda, That worked but there is one other problem. Now the page is not animated but the whole slice area is. So what you see is my transparent animated gif
flashing along with the white background of the sliced area. Any ideas?

Adding an animation causes an error in menus

All - any help would be appreciated.
The minute I add an animation from the library, such as a
flashing arrow, all of my drop-down menus in Captivate are
unusable. Example: I add an arrow animation, then go to "File", the
drop-down menu flashes then goes away, not allowing me to select
anything under it. It happens anywhere there is a drop-down. If I
right-click, the drop-down appears then flashes away. I can click
the Save button to save it, then I have to re-open the project and
the menus work fine....until I add another animation.
THoughts??

If you click on an item in the library, Captivate seems to go
back to 'normal' and you can click on the pulldowns

How can someone that doesn't have Flash installed use your
site?
You would have to use Flash to put those links on the page.
HTML cannot add
links to a Flash element.

Adding flash animation to PE9

A client wants to incorporate a short flash animation into a video I am producing. I was given a SWF and FLV. I imported the SWF, and best I got was a still image. FLV wasn't even recognized. I could swear I had done this with an old version of elements, but perhaps not. I am willing to install a codec or coverter. I'm not picky. I'd rather not just buy Pro 5.5 (I have Pro CS3) if I can avoid it. Any advice would be great!

With the Moyea Flash Importer plug-in for PrPro, up to CS3, that program can Import and edit FLV's.
With about the second, or third update for PrPro CS4, full FLV (depends on the exact CODEC used in the FLV - no Sorenson Spark) Import and editing is possible.
I have the Moyea Flash Importer plug-in, and it has worked very well.
Also, there is a utility (cannot recall if it was freeware, or shareware) called FLV to AVI, that has worked pretty well for me, though not nearly so well, as with the Moyea product.
Now, there can be things to consider:
There is no direct plug-in for PrE, and the Premiere plug-in only lists PrPro.
Most FLV's are tiny in their Frame Sizes, so that is a major consideration.
Often, the FPS of FLV's will be lower, so again, another issue.

Issue when adding Published Animations

Hello, have finished all of my animated buttons for my site. I have exported them and can get them to load.
I am having a strange issue however. After the first and second buttons are inserted the other three start to just stack on the second button. Do to the responsive layout, I would like to contain the edge buttons in my divs with the id of "buttons" which keeps them evenly spaced and centered.

just a thought ... if this is happening everytime .. how much chances we have that the ISO/DVD you are using is not having the script/powershell corrupted and that doesnt get installed/configured when you run the setup and then you do this manually... just
checking if this can be possibility.. can you make a new ISO/DVD from the fresh download from Microsoft and run the setup again.

Adding HTML5 animation from edge animation to captivate 8

I created a simple/small animation in Edge Animation, published it as .oam . In Captivate 8, Media, HTML5 Animation, selected the animation and it displayed on the slide. The problem is now, in the preview the animation doesn't play. I even published it on a web server and it doesnt show there either. Does anyone have any idea what is going on??

Just a suggestion: try to add a play button in Edge Animate, maybe the animation is so short that you don't have time to see it? What is its duration? I can insert OAM's in CP8.

Adding an Animation in Muse

So I have the basic elements of my home page created. When the user presses the "submit" butten, I want an animation to take place. I have attatched a timeline for the beginning of the animation. What do I use to do this? I have seen some people say things about Edge Animate, but I'm not sure.
After the "submit" butten is pressed, I'd like to make it so the sign up form disappears and says "thank you!" before the animation takes place. After the last frame of the timeline I threw together, I would like content from Muse to appear. I'm sure that if I could learn how to do this much, I could figure out how to animate the rest of the tabs. The thing is I'm a complete newbie when it comes to this kind of stuff, so please be specific when explaining. If someone could help me out, that would be awesome!! (:

You can tweak form action url , where the form will redirect to a new page after submission. In new page you can use your design for "Thank You" text , in same page insert animation which should start after a time interval so that it looks like exact what you are trying to achieve.
