Adding audio to a Video CD slideshow using Toast

I have been able to create a Video CD slideshow using Toast Titanium 7.0. Has anyone successfully been able to add audio to a VCD slideshow? If so exactly how did you do it. The Toast help files were no help. They instructed me to use the application Motion Pictures which comes bundled with Toast. I was able to create a slideshow with audio with this application but could not figure out how to import it into Toast.

1. I suggest you post all questions concerning the use of Toast to Roxio's own Discussion Groups. That's where you will find the ardent Toast gurus. This isn't the "Using Roxio Toast" Discussion.
2. See also the "Other links" section of my my "VCD and SVCD Players" FAQ. That section contains links to some other sources of VCD/SVCD hints, tips, etc.
Good luck!

  • Adding audio suddenly creating video gap

I'm working on a slide show and it was going really well until today. The video is finished, with transitions, effects, etc., and I've been adding audio over the past couple of days. Today, I added a couple of songs and they did fine, then I added another one and it caused a gap in the video. When I go to the video line and right-click the gap, the "Delete and Close Gap" is greyed out so I can't use it. The gap doesn't "match" the audio--it starts about halfway through the audio and then ends where the audio ends. This is really frustrating, as I can't see anything different about this section of the project from the rest of it. (same file types, etc.) Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can correct it? Thanks!

Steve--Thanks so much--of course that worked like a charm! :) I can always count on you to know right away what I'm doing wrong!! I do have one more question--why did the ripple feature only kick in towards the end? I had 1 hour and 6 minutes of audio tracks that didn't cause any of the ripples, then it seemed to happen out of nowhere. I don't *think* I was doing anything differently up to that point. I'm mystified! But also very, very thankful to know the cure--I'll be doing some last minute touch-ups and then I'll be ready to burn this one! Yahoooooo!!!!! :) Take care, Tina

  • Adding audio and/or video without altering time line...

I currently have a completed i-movie project of which I wanted to add some "stuff" at the begining of the presentation and actually at one point in the middle. I want to "insert" this audio and a few slides without altering the rest of the project. Am I am to anchor points so that what ever I do around those points does not affect the timing of what is already there?
    Thanks in advance all.

    Hi
First your server does not require javascript only your browser, (standard in all modern browsers).
You also do not necessarily require the flash program, (your browser will require a plug-in for the audio video to play).
You will require some form of video/media encoding software to convert your files to the required format though, (do a search using your preferred search engine for video encoder), then use dreamweavers insert file option to insert your audio/video file into your html

  • Adding Audio to my Video

I have my HD source file and my 6 Channel AIFF file (Both are separate)
I want to encode a 5.1 H264 MOV file. How can I add my 6 channel audio to my video source in Compressor?

The media files for each episode are contained in the 'enclosure' tag and you can't have mulptiple ones in an episode - well, you can, but all but the first will be ignored.
So if you want to have audio-only versions you have to create an extra episode for each one. The problem with this is that people who want the audio only version are likely to find themselves downloading the video version, or vice versa, depending on how you've arranged it.
It's a better idea to create an entirely separate podcast containing only the audio files - the usual practice is to have the same title for each but with ' - Video version' or '- Audio version' as applicable, or something along those lines. You would obviously have to go through the submissions process again for the new feed.

  • Adding audio to a video demo Captivate 8

How can I add mp3 audio files to a video demonstration I recorded in Captivate 8?  I recorded the demo.  Then, clicked edit.  When I choose Media, the audio option is grayed out and does not let me select.

That damned BBB, they took it over from the cptx (you can hear that I don't like that bar at all). For a video demo project is pretty confusing.
You have to use the Audio menu in this case. You have the option Import, Project Narration there. If there is already a Project Narration, you'll have to go to Record, and use the Add/Replace tab to import and replace the existing Narration.
Sorry for my ranting. I so miss the CP7 UI.

  • Audio ahead of video in iTunes using Windows 8

I recently bought a new HP ENVY m4 laptop with Windows 8 at Best Buy. I do not like Windows 8, I prefer Windows 7, but there was nothing I could do about it. After I bought my new laptop, I downloaded iTunes along with everything I have ever bought on iTunes. A few days ago I bought and downloaded the movie "Oblivion", the new Olga Kurylenko movie. I bought the Hi Def version of the movie to be specific. Every time I've tried watching it, about half way through the movie, the audio gets ahead of the video. I have to constantly pause then play the movie, to keep the audio inline with the video. This has also happened with some of the other movies and series I have, that are in Hi Def as well. The movies and series that I have in the "Standard/ Non-Hi Def" versions play just fine, with no problems. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem, not just with the same laptop I have, but with any other laptop or computer (Be it a Mac or PC). And if you have had or still have this problem, how can you fix this problem? It's starting to really bug me. As for my laptop; it's an HP ENVY m4-1115dx Notebook with Windows 8 64bit OS, an Intel 3rd generation Core i7-3632QM Processor @ 2.20GHz 2.20GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 3.2GHz, it has 8GB DDR3 SDRAM (2 DIMM) RAM, a 1TB 5400RPM hard drive, Intel HD graphics 4000 with up to 1664MB total graphics memory, with the Beats Audio, with a whole other bunch of goodies. I've talked to my local Best Buy "Geek Squad" and they've told me that there shouldn't be a problem with the audio getting ahead of the video, or even the other way around, because my laptop is set up to accommodate and handle Hi Def movies, thus the Intel 4000 HD graphics card, and also because my graphics card is a Hi Def graphics and audio card (But I don't really believe my graphics card is also an audio card, but I could be wrong). Now, I am no computer wiz or anything like that. I just watch and download movies, listen to and download music (I only download iTunes movies and music, I've learned the hard way not to download music and movies on P2P sites like Limewire and Torrent sites), surf the internet, email, and do work stuff, and stuff like that. I have some what good knowledge of computers and how they work, but like I said I am no computer wiz. So if anyone has any advice or help, I would really appreciate it. Sorry about the novel, I didn't mean to get so in depth with everything. Thanks again for any help.

I could never tell if it was out of sync in the video preview on my lap top because it was so jerky.
So the only way for me to ensure that it was in sync was to write it out to a DVD disk and then view the content on a TV.
(I know that it automatically transcoded it to be standard def instead of hi def)
And after doing that, I did not see any sync issues.
I know this method is too time consuming, which is why I build a desk top PC so I could do real time previews while editing.
I will try to write it out to a Blu Ray disk both from my laptop and from my new desktop PC to see if they both have audio sync issues.
    This is very confounding.
I have also ordered a 6 pin to 4 pin 1394 cable (since my Canon XHA1 has 4 pin iLink firewire and my desktop pc has 6 pin) so that I can try to recapture to see if that is the issue.

  • Adding audio to edited video

Hey, I've been editing a short movie with premiere and I accidentally removed the audio from half the footage and can't restore it, all the auto save files saved it after I finished editing.  All I want to do is get the audio from the edited video, as the video clips are there but the audio aren't, only in the original clip does it have the audio.
    Thanks,
    Josh

If the original clip stil has the audio, perhaps you could insert this on the end of your sequence.  Unlink the audio, then delete the original clip and slide the unlinked audio back into the position you want it along the timeline.

  • What is best way of separating audio portion of video clip to use later

I would like to save, and use in other projects a portion of the audio of a clip.  What is the best way of getting the audo portion out of the clip it is in and into a some sort of self-contained clip of its own?

Just to build  on Tom's answer...
Given you only want a portion  of a specific clip...
    I'd say
Select the portion you want using the range tool (R)
Share | Master File | Audio Only (as Tom has said)
But even then, if you haven't disabled the other audio in the timeline (or don't want to) you'll get all of it... (Music/Camera/Effects etc)
What I do, is export Roles as separate files (Using the "Roles As" option) at the bottom of the share dialog. Either "Dialogue" or "Music" would probably suit you, I'm guessing.

  • Adding audio to Video Demo: Captivate 7

Hello, i have several questions about working with audio in a video demo in Captivate 7.
I have a video demo that was captured without audio, then the intended script changed signifigantly so the timing is way off (sometimes the video doesn't hold on a screen long enough for the narrator to finish talking, sometimes it holds too long).
Any tutorials out there for adding audio after the video demo is recorded, when the timing is all off and I need to hold on some frames longer than the movie does? I'm doing still screen grabs and inserting them as images for the duration of the hold, but there's got to be a better way!
Is there any way to add text-to-speech in the Video Demo (other than adding it in slide notes, exporting the audio file and then importing it to the background of the video demo?)
When adding audio to a Captivate 7 video demo, is it better to add it to the video (Edit Video Demo > Audio > Import to > Background) or to add it to the slide in the regular timeline? Pros/Cons? Best practice?
    Thanks!

Are you un-checking "Edit Volume" before you play it?
    Sue
Hi Sue, Thanks for your help, I am new to the Mac, so forgive me if I am slow!
    I cannot find "Edit Voume".
I can find "Show clip volume" in the "View menu" is that the same thing?
    Thanks for your help. Chatch

  • Adding audio to slideshows using Elements 11 and itunes.

Upgraded to Elements 11 from Elements 9
    Running Windows 7
I am doing a slideshow and would like to add audio from my itunes library.  When I click to add audio and browse my itunes library, nothing shows after I click on the album. In an older version, I would change the file to a WAV file and it would insert fine.  The new itunes does not let me do that anymore onlyl to an AAC file (not sure what that is ) when I try that they say it is protected and can't change it.  How can I add audio files to my slide show using itunes?
    Thanks

Once, iTunes did not have a way to get their music into programs, like PrE, at least not directly.
Back then, the workflow was to go to iTunes, create a Playlist for the necessary iTunes music, then burn THAT to an Audio CD. Once done, one would take that CD into a program, like the free Audacity, to rip the CDA format, then Save_As WAV, choosing PMC/WAV @ 48KHz 16-bit. Those WAV files were then Imported into PrE.
At some point in time, they relaxed things a bit, and many had no issues with a direct Import from iTunes.
Now sure what they are doing now, but many like using music from other sources, rather than iTunes.
Neale has linked to a conversion application, however I have never used it. OTOH, if Neale recommends it, then it should work just fine.
Also, according to Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/supported-file-formats-premiere-elements.html, AAC is a supported Audio Format.
As I seldom use any music from other sources, beyond SmartSound, I have not stayed current on how iTunes works.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How can i use original audio track in video editing for iPad 2?

I am struggling to understand how the video editing apps work for iPad 2, and specifically, to understand why all the editing apps I have looked at explain how you can make these terrific video clips by ADDING audio tracks from iTunes, or. From the audio library. I just want to use the original audio on the tape?  Is that so strange? Today I took a video clip of my daughter singing with her guitar. I wanted to shorten the length a bit, so I downloaded a couple of Visio editing apps. When I pulled the clip out of my Camera Roll storage into the video editing screen, there was no sound at all, though there were ways to add other sounds ( for .99cents) most frustrating is that nowhere, does Apple explain this.  The tutorials just show someone editing a video of their friends ( with no sound) And adding text and music, as if it's normal not to include the actual sound that originally accompanied the video clip.  Seems like i wouldn't be the only customer who would prefer to hear my daughters own voice Ina video of her singing, and would like thisexplainedbefore I started downloading editing apps. If it can't be done, couldn't This be posted?

I am not understanding your question, or your complaint, if it is a complaint.
I movies takes a video clip, including its audio track.
You have the option of mutimg it, or of importing some other sound from your music library, or narrating.  What other option do you want?

  • How to fix audio  of a video captured from DV output of camcorder using Adobe Premiere Elements 8?

    Hello,
I purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 8 about one week ago.  I installed it and everything seem to work well in my first project.  I am new at editing videos but I was succesful in testing it by loading an existing video file in avi format from my computer and then doing some very basic editing (I splitted 2 scenes and added a title).
After my first succesful project (described above) I started a brand new project. Here, I want to capture a one hour video  from the dv output of a video camera. So I connected the camera to the PC and then started adobe elements 8.  Before starting the capture I only checked the boxes that said "capture video" and "capture audio" (the other 2 boxes that said download to timeline and autoanalyze were left unchecked).  After that I started the capture process.
After the video capture was completed, a small window opened at the bottom saying that a PEAK FILE was being generated.    After the peak file generation finished, I looked at the captured video.  The video looked perfect.  However the audio of the video was too fast. By this, I mean that the voices of the people in the movie were like they were speaking at more than twice the normal speed.  Or to explain it in a different way, they sounded like the  chipmunks.
So now I come to the question of this thread I started.  Is there a way that I can fix the audio part of the video I captured?  I will appreciate any help on this. Below I listed a few additional details in case this is needed.
    Thanks,
    ronel_8
PS.  Here are some more details about my system:
    1) Operating System: Windows XP
    2) I am capturing the video on an external drive with 40 GB of available space. The external drive is connected to a PC via a USB connection.
    3) Computer CPU: 2.4 GHZ
    4) Computer RAM: 1.25 GB
    5) Video tape is about one hour long.

    Hello Bill and Steve,
Your responses are very helpful.  Although I was not able to fix the problem yet I do seem to think from what you both say that my system may be too slow to capture the one hour video. In any case I will copy below more details about the system as you requested:
    1) Results from running Gspot:
The audio section of the Gspot window was blank. That is, no information was there.  The File and Container sections say:
    File Size: 12.6 GB
Note: 7.63 GB unneeded bytes at the end of the file
    DV Type1 AVI
    2) I did run the Gspot on another good avi file (captured to the PC with same camcorder) and says:
    Codec PCM Audio
    32kHz 1024 kb/s tot (2 chnls).
I suppose these are the audio settings from the camera.
    3) Yes, I am capturing video from a miniDV camcorder (JVC GR-D70U).
    4) I did not defragment the external drive prior to capturing the video with the audi problem.  So I will give that I try and see if it solves the problem.
    5) The external drive I am using is formatted to NTFS.
    6) The computer is a Dell Dimension 2400, CPU: 2.4 GHZ, RAM: 1.25 GB
    7) HDD Size=74GB and 11 GB of free space.  But I am downloading video to external drive that has 60 GB free space.
One last piece of information that may be useful.  If I open the AVI file (that I captured with Adobe Premiere Elements) with Windows Media Player, the audi sounds good.  However if I open it with Adobe it has the problem I mentioned in my previous e-mail.
    I'll aprreciate any further hints.
    Thanks again,
    ronel_8

  • I would like to see a built-in way of adding audio and video files.

As it is, you have to rely on third-party solutions for adding mp3 audio files and video to Muse sites. Thanks

    Hi,
I tried to reproduce what you were getting by building a simple VI but I havent had much luck (I have attached the VI).
Could you post your code so that I can take a look at it?

  • StreamigHow to get audio component of Video out of AirPort/stereo using MBA

Ok will some one help me with this please:
I was experimenting with streaming video. I was watching Leo Laporte's TWiT Live show
    http://twit.tv/roz13
where he was talking to Roz Savage the woman who is rowing across the Pacific alone ! This was live feed (including rower's audio from the middle of the ocean); very cool ! Laugh but she is half way to Hawaii and she has already rowed the Atlantic (no sail). The show is called Roz Rows. Leo checks in with her several times a week. Past shows are on iTunes.
Ok I got off track but she is truly awesome in a time when that word is used to describe somebody's socks.
My happy MacBook Air experience to get off the track again: On battery I was watching the live video stream and my iStat showed heat ~55 C and fan 2800 rpm very cool !
I was getting down to 25% battery so I plugged in the charger cable. The temp climbed slowly but predictably to the high heat side of the scale (68 C 6200 rpm) and stabilized. Once again hot but I am happy.
Interesting how cool it was before hooking up charging lead. I am so happy about that !
Now we get to the question ta da !
I want to know how to get the audio for the streaming video to come out of the audio system connected to my Airport Express. Listening to music on iTunes it works fine. Watching an iTunes purchased TV episode on iTunes it _does not_ (the sound comes out of the computer speaker) no matter the setting on the low right hand corner of the window. Perhaps I should be in the iTunes or AirPort discussions but wanted to post positive experience here with streaming video using MacBook Air.

it might be possible using airfoil or similar utility...
    http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/mac/
...but you will probably find that audio/video are badly out of sync due to the latency on the streamed audio
if the video is playing in something like vlc you can compensate by adjusting the audio/video sync (although it is fiddly and drifts because the latency varies) but in itunes you can't
