Adding audio to image sequence

Hello
I've got a 5 minute animation where various sections need updating so the most obvious thing to do is render out an image sequence and just replace the pieces that are updated. The audio dosen't change and fits the length of my animation perfectly.
I'd like to use AME CS6 for exporting to various formats as the presets are quite useful. I can load the image sequence no problem but I'd like to add the audio file to it. Can it be done? I can't find an obvious something-to-click button and I'm getting bored of copying and pasting in QTPro!
Is it a feature request?

Nick,
Thank you for your reply.
I would not have asked such a silly question I went to bed earlier.
Thanks for your patience.
The volume is at its maximum level.
I am sure I am selecting the correct option in Sound in System Preferences.
When I scratch the microphone I can see the blue markers move.
The sound over in FCP works correctly and I allow it to proceed to its finish before I turn off the microphone.
Using Quick Time as you suggested clearly works but again the voice over can barely be heard.
I have selected an audio track, number 3 or lower and set in and out points in the video track.
So I think I have followed the correct settings and indeed the volume of the voice was at a useful level the first time I used it.
The problem is that since then my recording is barely audible,
Michael.

  • Feature Request: Please allow us to merge audio with image sequence in AME.

So far the only programs that allow this (that I'm aware of anyway) are the old version of QuickTime Pro, and Apple's Compressor. I simply want to add an image sequence to AME, and combine an audio track to that image sequence for export. This would save me an extra step. 80% of my work begins and ends in After Effects. I do very little video editing, so most of my exports are rendered from AE and then exported from Quicktime or Compressor to whatever file my clients request (Most often ProRes for a master version, and h264 or x264 Quicktime files for the web).
Is it possible we might see this feature added anytime soon? Thanks!

This is a good feature request and should be submitted here: Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form

  • Audio for image sequence

    Hi all -
I am doing some animation for a tv pilot and need to get the movie file into separate image sequence and audio files to import into my animation software. I was able to extract segments of the movie into image sequence, so that is no problem .... what i need to do is get the audio into a separate file. I tried sound to wav and ended up with a blank file.... i am using win xp .... any help would be appreciated.... thanks....

It "sounds" (no pun intended) like your source file is "muxed". This is the format of Flash and MPEG 1 or 2. QuickTime Pro can't export the audio portion of the file.
You'll need third party software to convert the file to QT formats (DV Stream is best).

  • How to add audio to image sequence?

I've imported a Photoshop image sequence into FCP X 10.1.1.  Dropped it on the timeline, created a compound clip.  So far I can't figure out how to add audio of any kind.  I've tried starting over, making sure properties had audio setting enabled.  No change though.  No matter what I try, no audio tab in the inspector.  What am I missing?
    Thanks,
    Michael

Are you importing an audio file that is seperate? Otherwise it is attached to your video. in the timeline, choose expand audio & video. You can import almost any format. Import it into the same event that you are in - a song from your desktop or from your folder where you copied all your contents from your camera card or music from ITunes (in which case you use the audio tab on the far right of the timeline UNDER THE INSPECTOR).
How did you import your media?:

  • Adding audio to a sequence.

    Forum,
I asked for advice about adding voice over to a sequence May 19 2009 and received useful advice.
I have only been able to use the advice today.
The problem seems to be the volume of the sound I am recording .
I am using a Sony microphone and the speakers are Logitech.
After recording a short voice over I can just hear my voice if I put one of the speakers against my ear.
I am seventy two years old but I am not deaf!
    Daft maybe.
Do I need some device to increase the volume of the sound I am recording or is there some part
    of FCP which increases volume?
    Thank you,
    Michael.

  • Flash audio out of sync even as image sequence in Premeire Pro

I'm using Flash CS4 to animate hi-def music videos. It seems that I can't keep the audio to stay in sync for anything over 2 or 3 minutes.
    - I'm working a stage at 1280x720 and 30 fps
    - audio is streamed on a separate layer
    - mp3 publish settings are: stereo 128kbs
Inside the FLA file everything syncs perfect, but when it's published, everything drifts in the SWF and in everything else I've tried.
I've tried exporting image sequences and popping the sequences into premiere pro to match up with the original wave, and i've also put the swf file in a premiere pro project as well. Whether a SWF or an image sequence, it always lapses after 2 or 3 minutes.
I've asked the adobe portal folks and they sent me a link to a "dreamweaver" article...so my regard for their capicity is not high.
Anyone have any ideas? or am I doomed to never animate anything longer than 2 minutes in Flash?
The topper of it all is, I've used a friend's REAL OLD Flash MX and have not   had any problems.

no actually all the animation is smooth and plays fine. but in files longer than 2 or 3 minutes the action starts to happen later and later and later until i'm seeing the animation full seconds after the matching sound. this happens when source wavs are matched to published files inside premeire pro too. it doesn't matter the format...swf / mp4 / flv / mov...any encoding of the video matched to the source wav is the same result as the published swf.
it's as if there are more frames in the publish than in the FLA. i guess i could compare and contrast by doing some math and creating some traditional x-sheets and completely disregard the reference streaming audio in the FLA...but that would be a ton of work and disregard the convenience the technology is intended to provide. i guess i'll just continue editing together a bunch 1-2 minute publishes until i give adobe even more money in october...boo hiss.
thanks for your vigilance! i might just be out of luck

  • Image Sequence, Audio, Edge Animation - it's all there in my app

My first DPS app went live last night.
    (Yay me.)
Now look into my eyes; you will like it. Don't resist.
Why? Well, it's free. And free is good, we all like free. It has fun drawings and interactivity. It makes use of many DPS components including an image sequence that looks like an animation, audio, HTML5 canvas tag, and an Edge Preview animation.
What's even better is that Adobe has asked me to make the components available in the DPS cookbook. You can have it all and use it in your own DPS apps. So while I get all the files ready for that, download the app from iTunes - so far only iPad - but I will publish for Kindle Fire and Android presently.
Leave any comments or questions with this thread so we can all benefit.
It is a Spanish-Language alphabet learning application called Todas la letras.
    http://itunes.apple.com/app/todas-las-letras/id540437129?mt=8
I have built a site which has some of the HTML code and a description of how I built it
    www.milibrodelasletras.com
So far, 10 downloads. 2 from Mexico, 1 each from Argentina and Columbia. Gracias, Suramerica!
And thanks to forum users who helped me along, espcially the Bobs.

I haven't figured out the refresh rate of the iTunesconnect analytics - so far, just the 14 downloads mentioned above. So I would safely bet that you are the first downloader from Down Under (too clever?). In fact, here at Dan McSweeney Digital Publishing Corporate Headquarters we'd like to name you our Australian ambassador. I'm going to have accounting send you a Speedo, an orange cap, and a Glock. The intent of this app was to get Australia speaking Spanish, bwah hahah, it's working.
Glad you liked the image overlay "animation." Credit for that idea is due Colin Fleming. And if you are handy at all in After Effects, it's not difficult to export an animation to a jpeg image sequence - AE even sequentially names the files for you. All of this will be detailed when I post the project files. Meanwhile anybody can ask me questions. (Like I'm some kind of mad expert in this, right?)
Writing a sparkling review of the app on iTunes is, by the way, part of your duties as ambassador.

  • Automating Image Sequences with audio

    Hello all.
I'm trying to figure out if this workflow is possible via FCSvr and Compressor.
    1. Render Image sequences from my host application.
    2. Render .aif audio file
    3. Setup a watcher that automatically renders to my compressor presets using both the image sequence & audio file as its' source.
My goal here is to get an automated workflow all the way to my final output once I have the audio & image sequences.
    Erick

This feature is in iMovie 09. It is called Beat Markers. In 08, you have to eyeball it manually.

  • Best way to work with large image sequences

    Hello,
Im relatively new to Adobe CS4. I am learning to create detailed animations with another software that produces thousands of still images. (I normally save them as  .png, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps) I spent the money to buy CS4 becuase I was told this was what I needed to turn those images into video, add titles, captions, credits, etc. So far, I've been useing PremierPro to import the image sequences and add titles. But when I export the sequences, the quality is crap. I've tried all combinations of exporting formats, but even when I try to go for the greatest quality, my files are 100 MB large, and the quality is still crap (nice smooth lines are jagged, and details are blurry and pixilated, even with the titles I added). Can someone tell me how I should be working with these still image sequences so that I can retain the best quality while keeping the file size large. These videos are just played on local computer systems, not over a network or on DVDs. I dont know if I should be bringing the shorter clip sequences into AfterEffects and somehow exporting those. I just dont know. But nothing is working for me. Help!
    Nikki

    Hello!,
The output frame size has so far been the same as my rendering size (720 x 480), but I's just trying to get the best quality, if I need to render larger I can. Delivery has so far just been video, no audio, although when I get better at this I will record narrations of the animations and put that in. Playback is intended only for computers. Every once in a while, it is requested in a format that will be played over our network, but I wanted to worry about that later.
The preset I chose for the sequence was the DV-NTSC Standard 32kHz
    The project/sequence settings are:
    General
         Editing Mode: DV NTSC
         Timebase: 29.97 fps
    Video
         Frame size: 720, 480 4:3
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV NTSC (0.9091)
Display Format: 30 fps Non-Drop-Frame Timecode
    Audio
         doesnt matter
    Video Previews
         Preview File Format: NTSC DV
         Codec: DV NTSC
         Maximum Bit Depth
Hope that was the information you requested.

  • Can Media Encoder take an image sequence in the watch folder and turn it into a video file?

I'm using OSX and Media Encoder 6 (from premier 6) and can't figure out how to make the watch folder take a .jpeg or .dpi sequence and turn it into a single video file.
I tried copying all the stills into the watch folder, that made 60 individual video files (one for each image).
I tried making a folder inside the watch folder, and copying all the images into it.. to which Media Encoder did nothing.
What am I missing? Will Media Encoder take image sequences and render them out as a audio-less video for me?
    Thanks for any imput.

    Hi action_packed,
This is from the documentation: http://helpx.adobe.com/media-encoder/using/add-items-encoding-queue.html
Still Image Sequences are not supported as source footage through Watch Folders. If a set of still images is placed in the folder being watched, each individual still file will be added as a separate item to the Queue rather than than the entire sequence as a single piece of footage.
Make a feature request for that here: http://adobe.ly/feature_request
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Image Sequence Settings in QT Pro - what is the Frame Rate range available?

I am considering purchasing QT Pro for Windows. I wish to make a time lapse movie out of a series of pictures. I would like to know what the range of options is for the "Image Sequence Settings" in File->Open image Sequence... menu. Does is it go well beyond 1 second?
    Thanks!
    Chris

Frames rates are from 10 seconds per frame up to 60 frames per second.
I make many image sequence movies and just start with one frame per second.
I then "add scaled" to a properly timed audio only file. This way you can get nearly any frame rate you could ever need.

  • Help with adding audio files to page

I am using DW CS5.  I have had numerous troubles adding audio files to any page.  Please know that I am not at all computer savy when it comes to html codes etc.  But I have been working with DW CS5 and have a functional website and my pages validate.  That being said, please be patient with me if I am asking stupid questions or don't understand the solution.
Now to the problem....I originally wanted to add mp3 files...but I am not sure how to work with plugins or which plugin to use.
Therefore, I converted my mp3 files to swf and used the insert media file feature in DW CS5.  But when I look at the finished page...I only see a big white box.  Nothing happens when you click on it.
First question...which is the best method to add audio files?
Second question...what steps do I need to follow achieve the desired result?
Note:  there is one validation error on this page and I'm not sure why or how to fix it.  Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated.

Woohoo! I was able to resolve the issue including the validation issue.  But I have a follow up question...
Currently if you click on the play button another window pops up which has the play/control/stop buttons to control the audio file.  The attribute is set to new window.  If I change the attribute to parent window, then the page that has the control buttons overlays ontop of the page with the link.
To get back to the original page, one must click on the back arrow near the address bar.
Isn't there a way to not have a separate window appear?  In other words, the controls are embeded into the parent page?

  • Sending image sequence job to compressor in command line : how to set the framerate?

    Hello,
In Compressor, when you import a image sequence, it's possible to set the framerate and add an audio file before choosing a preset and lauching the encoding task.
I want to dlo the same thing with command line. I know how to send a compressor job with command line, but no how to add theses settings.
In the compressor command line help, we've got this :
Job Info: Used when submitting individual source files. Following parameters are repeated to enter multiple job targets in a batch
-jobpath <url> -- url to source file.
-- In case of Image Sequence, URL should be a file URL pointing to directory with image sequence.
-- Additional parameters may be specified to set frameRate (e.g. frameRate=29.97) and audio file (e.g. audio=/usr/me/myaudiofile.mov).
So there are also framerate and audio parameters in command line but i've no idea how to write the command line with theses parameters
Here is an example of command line for Compressor (by Apple) :
    ./Compressor ‑clusterid tcp://127.0.0.1:51737 ‑batchname myBatch ‑jobpath /Volumes/Source/ShortClips/NTSC24p.mov ‑settingpath /Users/stomper10/Library/Application\ Support/Compressor/PhotoJPEG.setting ‑destinationpath /Users/machinename/Movies/myDestinationFilename.mov.
    Thank you for your help!

You can see in the command sh running-config command
show running-config : Displays the current access point operating configuration
Use the guest-mode SSID configuration mode command to configure the radio interface (for the specified SSID) to support guest mode. Use the no form of the command to disable the guest mode.
    [no] guest-mode .
Here is the guideline for usage
The access point can have one guest-mode SSID or none at all. The guest-mode SSID is used in beacon frames and response frames to probe requests that specify the empty or wildcard SSID. If no guest-mode SSID exists, the beacon contains no SSID and probe requests with the wildcard SSID are ignored. Disabling the guest mode makes the networks slightly more secure. Enabling the guest mode helps clients that passively scan (do not transmit) associate with the access point. It also allows clients configured without a SSID to associate.
    Examples
This example shows how to set the wireless LAN for the specified SSID into guest mode:
    AP(config-if-ssid)# guest-mode
This example shows how to reset the guest-mode parameter to default values:
    AP(config-if-ssid)# no guest-mode

  • Exporting image sequence in ProRes 4444 gives black movie

In QT Pro, I'm exporting a movie made from an image sequence.  If I export using ProRes 4444, all I get is a black movie file.  If I export using other codecs, it works fine.  Any ideas what might be wrong and how to fix this?
    Thanks!

Sorry, but you've posted this in the Audition (Audio) forum.  I suggest you repost in the appropriate forum.  Good liuck!

  • Adding audio to Video Demo: Captivate 7

Hello, i have several questions about working with audio in a video demo in Captivate 7.
I have a video demo that was captured without audio, then the intended script changed signifigantly so the timing is way off (sometimes the video doesn't hold on a screen long enough for the narrator to finish talking, sometimes it holds too long).
Any tutorials out there for adding audio after the video demo is recorded, when the timing is all off and I need to hold on some frames longer than the movie does? I'm doing still screen grabs and inserting them as images for the duration of the hold, but there's got to be a better way!
Is there any way to add text-to-speech in the Video Demo (other than adding it in slide notes, exporting the audio file and then importing it to the background of the video demo?)
When adding audio to a Captivate 7 video demo, is it better to add it to the video (Edit Video Demo > Audio > Import to > Background) or to add it to the slide in the regular timeline? Pros/Cons? Best practice?
    Thanks!

Are you un-checking "Edit Volume" before you play it?
    Sue
Hi Sue, Thanks for your help, I am new to the Mac, so forgive me if I am slow!
    I cannot find "Edit Voume".
I can find "Show clip volume" in the "View menu" is that the same thing?
    Thanks for your help. Chatch
