Adding Audio to my Video

I have my HD source file and my 6 Channel AIFF file (Both are separate)
I want to encode a 5.1 H264 MOV file. How can I add my 6 channel audio to my video source in Compressor?

The media files for each episode are contained in the 'enclosure' tag and you can't have mulptiple ones in an episode - well, you can, but all but the first will be ignored.
So if you want to have audio-only versions you have to create an extra episode for each one. The problem with this is that people who want the audio only version are likely to find themselves downloading the video version, or vice versa, depending on how you've arranged it.
It's a better idea to create an entirely separate podcast containing only the audio files - the usual practice is to have the same title for each but with ' - Video version' or '- Audio version' as applicable, or something along those lines. You would obviously have to go through the submissions process again for the new feed.

  • Adding audio suddenly creating video gap

I'm working on a slide show and it was going really well until today. The video is finished, with transitions, effects, etc., and I've been adding audio over the past couple of days. Today, I added a couple of songs and they did fine, then I added another one and it caused a gap in the video. When I go to the video line and right-click the gap, the "Delete and Close Gap" is greyed out so I can't use it. The gap doesn't "match" the audio--it starts about halfway through the audio and then ends where the audio ends. This is really frustrating, as I can't see anything different about this section of the project from the rest of it. (same file types, etc.) Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can correct it? Thanks!

Steve--Thanks so much--of course that worked like a charm! :) I can always count on you to know right away what I'm doing wrong!! I do have one more question--why did the ripple feature only kick in towards the end? I had 1 hour and 6 minutes of audio tracks that didn't cause any of the ripples, then it seemed to happen out of nowhere. I don't *think* I was doing anything differently up to that point. I'm mystified! But also very, very thankful to know the cure--I'll be doing some last minute touch-ups and then I'll be ready to burn this one! Yahoooooo!!!!! :) Take care, Tina

  • Adding audio and/or video without altering time line...

I currently have a completed i-movie project of which I wanted to add some "stuff" at the begining of the presentation and actually at one point in the middle. I want to "insert" this audio and a few slides without altering the rest of the project. Am I am to anchor points so that what ever I do around those points does not affect the timing of what is already there?
    Thanks in advance all.

    Hi
First your server does not require javascript only your browser, (standard in all modern browsers).
You also do not necessarily require the flash program, (your browser will require a plug-in for the audio video to play).
You will require some form of video/media encoding software to convert your files to the required format though, (do a search using your preferred search engine for video encoder), then use dreamweavers insert file option to insert your audio/video file into your html

  • Adding audio to edited video

Hey, I've been editing a short movie with premiere and I accidentally removed the audio from half the footage and can't restore it, all the auto save files saved it after I finished editing.  All I want to do is get the audio from the edited video, as the video clips are there but the audio aren't, only in the original clip does it have the audio.
    Thanks,
    Josh

If the original clip stil has the audio, perhaps you could insert this on the end of your sequence.  Unlink the audio, then delete the original clip and slide the unlinked audio back into the position you want it along the timeline.

  • Adding audio to a video demo Captivate 8

How can I add mp3 audio files to a video demonstration I recorded in Captivate 8?  I recorded the demo.  Then, clicked edit.  When I choose Media, the audio option is grayed out and does not let me select.

That damned BBB, they took it over from the cptx (you can hear that I don't like that bar at all). For a video demo project is pretty confusing.
You have to use the Audio menu in this case. You have the option Import, Project Narration there. If there is already a Project Narration, you'll have to go to Record, and use the Add/Replace tab to import and replace the existing Narration.
Sorry for my ranting. I so miss the CP7 UI.

  • Adding audio to a Video CD slideshow using Toast

I have been able to create a Video CD slideshow using Toast Titanium 7.0. Has anyone successfully been able to add audio to a VCD slideshow? If so exactly how did you do it. The Toast help files were no help. They instructed me to use the application Motion Pictures which comes bundled with Toast. I was able to create a slideshow with audio with this application but could not figure out how to import it into Toast.

    1. I suggest you post all questions concerning the use of Toast to Roxio's own Discussion Groups. That's where you will find the ardent Toast gurus. This isn't the "Using Roxio Toast" Discussion.
    2. See also the "Other links" section of my my "VCD and SVCD Players" FAQ. That section contains links to some other sources of VCD/SVCD hints, tips, etc.

  • Adding audio to Video Demo: Captivate 7

Hello, i have several questions about working with audio in a video demo in Captivate 7.
I have a video demo that was captured without audio, then the intended script changed signifigantly so the timing is way off (sometimes the video doesn't hold on a screen long enough for the narrator to finish talking, sometimes it holds too long).
Any tutorials out there for adding audio after the video demo is recorded, when the timing is all off and I need to hold on some frames longer than the movie does? I'm doing still screen grabs and inserting them as images for the duration of the hold, but there's got to be a better way!
Is there any way to add text-to-speech in the Video Demo (other than adding it in slide notes, exporting the audio file and then importing it to the background of the video demo?)
When adding audio to a Captivate 7 video demo, is it better to add it to the video (Edit Video Demo > Audio > Import to > Background) or to add it to the slide in the regular timeline? Pros/Cons? Best practice?
    Thanks!

Are you un-checking "Edit Volume" before you play it?

Hi Sue, Thanks for your help, I am new to the Mac, so forgive me if I am slow!
    I cannot find "Edit Voume".
I can find "Show clip volume" in the "View menu" is that the same thing?

  • How can i use original audio track in video editing for iPad 2?

I am struggling to understand how the video editing apps work for iPad 2, and specifically, to understand why all the editing apps I have looked at explain how you can make these terrific video clips by ADDING audio tracks from iTunes, or. From the audio library. I just want to use the original audio on the tape?  Is that so strange? Today I took a video clip of my daughter singing with her guitar. I wanted to shorten the length a bit, so I downloaded a couple of Visio editing apps. When I pulled the clip out of my Camera Roll storage into the video editing screen, there was no sound at all, though there were ways to add other sounds ( for .99cents) most frustrating is that nowhere, does Apple explain this.  The tutorials just show someone editing a video of their friends ( with no sound) And adding text and music, as if it's normal not to include the actual sound that originally accompanied the video clip.  Seems like i wouldn't be the only customer who would prefer to hear my daughters own voice Ina video of her singing, and would like thisexplainedbefore I started downloading editing apps. If it can't be done, couldn't This be posted?

I am not understanding your question, or your complaint, if it is a complaint.
I movies takes a video clip, including its audio track.
You have the option of mutimg it, or of importing some other sound from your music library, or narrating.  What other option do you want?

  • How to fix audio  of a video captured from DV output of camcorder using Adobe Premiere Elements 8?

    Hello,
I purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 8 about one week ago.  I installed it and everything seem to work well in my first project.  I am new at editing videos but I was succesful in testing it by loading an existing video file in avi format from my computer and then doing some very basic editing (I splitted 2 scenes and added a title).
After my first succesful project (described above) I started a brand new project. Here, I want to capture a one hour video  from the dv output of a video camera. So I connected the camera to the PC and then started adobe elements 8.  Before starting the capture I only checked the boxes that said "capture video" and "capture audio" (the other 2 boxes that said download to timeline and autoanalyze were left unchecked).  After that I started the capture process.
After the video capture was completed, a small window opened at the bottom saying that a PEAK FILE was being generated.    After the peak file generation finished, I looked at the captured video.  The video looked perfect.  However the audio of the video was too fast. By this, I mean that the voices of the people in the movie were like they were speaking at more than twice the normal speed.  Or to explain it in a different way, they sounded like the  chipmunks.
So now I come to the question of this thread I started.  Is there a way that I can fix the audio part of the video I captured?  I will appreciate any help on this. Below I listed a few additional details in case this is needed.
    Thanks,
    ronel_8
PS.  Here are some more details about my system:
    1) Operating System: Windows XP
    2) I am capturing the video on an external drive with 40 GB of available space. The external drive is connected to a PC via a USB connection.
    3) Computer CPU: 2.4 GHZ
    4) Computer RAM: 1.25 GB
    5) Video tape is about one hour long.

    Hello Bill and Steve,
Your responses are very helpful.  Although I was not able to fix the problem yet I do seem to think from what you both say that my system may be too slow to capture the one hour video. In any case I will copy below more details about the system as you requested:
    1) Results from running Gspot:
The audio section of the Gspot window was blank. That is, no information was there.  The File and Container sections say:
    File Size: 12.6 GB
Note: 7.63 GB unneeded bytes at the end of the file
    DV Type1 AVI
    2) I did run the Gspot on another good avi file (captured to the PC with same camcorder) and says:
    Codec PCM Audio
    32kHz 1024 kb/s tot (2 chnls).
I suppose these are the audio settings from the camera.
    3) Yes, I am capturing video from a miniDV camcorder (JVC GR-D70U).
    4) I did not defragment the external drive prior to capturing the video with the audi problem.  So I will give that I try and see if it solves the problem.
    5) The external drive I am using is formatted to NTFS.
    6) The computer is a Dell Dimension 2400, CPU: 2.4 GHZ, RAM: 1.25 GB
    7) HDD Size=74GB and 11 GB of free space.  But I am downloading video to external drive that has 60 GB free space.
One last piece of information that may be useful.  If I open the AVI file (that I captured with Adobe Premiere Elements) with Windows Media Player, the audi sounds good.  However if I open it with Adobe it has the problem I mentioned in my previous e-mail.
    I'll aprreciate any further hints.
    Thanks again,
    ronel_8

  • Ducking doesn't work on added audio track

I have an iMovie 09 video clip of people dancing to music in the background.  I attached a separate audio clip of music to the video (it appears in green beneath the video).
At a certain point in the video, I want to fade the added music clip so you can hear what's going on in the video.  So I went to "Audio Adjustments" on the video clip and checked the Ducking box to that the music on the added audio clip would fade at that certain point.
But it doesn't fade at all.   How do I fix this?  Thanks.

You should be able to trim expanded audio in previous versions, also.  Then you do trim, the audio will only turn dark, not get physically shorter, when you Expand Audio Components.  When you Expand Audio, it will physically change the length of the audio section.  One thing to remember is that when you Expand Audio/Video, the whole clip is selected by default, click on the head or tail of the audio first.  If it is red, you can not expand it out, but can trim it in.
Tom is correct about ROLL edits, they only work in FCPX 10.1 and later.  Only works with clips in a Storyline.  Only work with audio that has enough Handles to accoedate the Roll edit.

  • Crashing after adding audio clips

So I have had to rebuild my 50 minute vacation movie 3 times now due to the files become corrupt after adding audio clips.  The audio clips are legit and not just downloaded from a random site.  Happens with different songs not just particular ones.

Here is a good tutorial for how audio works. In your case, you want to drag and drop the music track on top of one of your video clips at the frame where you want the music to begin.

  • Adding Audio Consolidated Sceneline

Seems each step forward in PE4 involves a step or two backward.
I imported audio (a WAV file) to a newly-created audio track (Audio 4), and presto-change-o! my Sceneline contracted to a single frame that contains the video for the whole movie (3 mins. long). Previously, the Sceneline showed dozens of clips individually. If I clicked Play in either the Sceneline or Timeline, the movie still played normally.
Realizing that the Soundtrack was empty, I figured maybe I should have added the audio there, and maybe adding it where I did, in Audio 4, caused the disruption to the Sceneline. (I couldn't imagine why it should, but still...)
I deleted the recently-added audio, clicked on Audio 2 (the primary video track is Video 2, with opacity clips in Video 3), and clicked "Delete Empty Tracks," which got rid of my newly-created Audio 4.
This did not restore the Sceneline to its previous state.
In added the audio file to the Soundtrack. No change to the Sceneline.
The movie plays okay, including the new audio track, but with the Sceneline all compressed into one frame, I can't move clips or do any of the other editing tasks that are fast and easy in the Sceneline.
Anybody got an idea how I can restore my Sceneline?
    John B

YES! That did it. Thanks, Robert. I had no idea pressing the backslash compresses the Timeline to show the whole movie, or that you could lasso a track. Nice to know.
What I did know, and what gave me brief trouble, is that when you try to drag a clip or a track vertically in the Timeline to a track or position that's not visible, dragging up or down does *not* force the tracks to scroll in the direction you want to go.
But I found that once I had the primary video/audio track lassoed, if I hit Ctrl-C (Copy) with my other hand, it did in fact copy what I had in the lasso. I then clicked the empty Video 1 / Audio 1 track, typed Ctrl-V (Paste), and the primary video/audio track copied into place.
And yes, with the primary video back in Video 1, all the clips once again display normally in the Sceneline, solving my original problem.
Thanks to Bill, Steve and Robert for contributing to the solution.
PROBLEM SOLVED, and important lesson learned: Don't let anything displace the primary video from Video 1.

  • Best way to import from iTunes & audio lock to video?

I just started with PrE 10 and am coming from years with iMovie HD6 (never liked the later versions). Can audio tracks be dragged from iTunes (by having 2 minimal sized windows of each application open) into the Project area? Or do you need to try and find each song by going through the whole Get Media  File/Folder link process? I've tried dragging a few songs from iTunes, and it didn't seem to work (it was very easy in iMovie). I was able to add photos to the Project area from iPhoto by dragging them over from the iPhoto window.
Also, is there a way to lock (or link) the beginning of an added audio/soundtrack clip to a video clip, so that it does not inadvertently get moved, or so that if you move the video clip, or delete an earlier video clip, the locked audio goes with that video clip?
[Moved to the Premiere Elements main forum]

With Audio, you need to Import the file (Get Media), as Premiere needs to Conform the Audio, creating both a CFA (Conformed Audio) file, and a PEK (Waveform Display) file, and link to those.
Now, with iTunes, there can be some problems, though things have gotten a bit better recently. If you DO have an issue, you can create a Playlist in iTunes, and copy over all the files that you need for your Project, then burn a CD of that Playlist. The Audio-CD will be in the CDA container in as a WAV file, which should Import just fine, into PrE.
Actually, it might be easier, even if the iTunes music does Import, to create a Playlist in iTunes, where you can drag and drop right from the iTunes GUI, and then Import from that Playlist.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
