Adding bg image to Dw template

Question

I am using the 2 column right sidebar with header and footer
Dw template which comes with a 250px right margin in the main
content left column div to prevent margin collapse. When I assign a
bg image to the div it gets cut off, even if I subtract for the
margin. How does one deal with the uncertainty inherent in such a
layout?

Background images are not affected by container margins.
If the background image is being 'cut off' it means your
container does not
have the dimensions you think it does. Try giving it a border
to see what's
happening.
