Adding BI Java on NetWeaver Portal 2004s installation

Hi All,
We have NetWeaver Portal 2004s sps 10 installed.
We would like to know if we can add BI Java on the same instance.
Thanx
Jayant

Hi Yayant,
Yes, its possible to have BI Java stack added to Netweaver 2004s,
but from my point of view the version should already been installed with Netweaver 2004s Java stack  as SAP_BW.
Check this in the System --> Status --> SAP System Data menu of your respective system.
Assign points if it helps you.

  • How to connect SAP R/3- System with SAP NetWeaver Portal (2004s)?

    Hello to all,
sorry, can someone help me? How can I connect SAP R/3- System with SAP NetWeaver Portal (2004s)?
    Thanks and regards,
    Galyna

    Hi,
In previous link contain this info
This describes how to connect an SAP R/3 system to SAP NetWeaver Portal using an iView
    1)      Go to System Administration
    2)      Go to System Configuration
    3)      Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder.
    4)      Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "System (from Template)".
    5)      That will display a new view on right side, now select "SAP system using dedicated application server" from
the existing templates. (Other templates are possible - for example, load balanced or through a SAProuter connection string).
For this exercise, we'll use the simplest type.
    6)      Choose next
    7)      Give the System Name and System Id (which are mandatory fields) incase you want to give any brief notes
about the system then give them in the "Description" field.
    8)      Open the Newly Created System.
    9)      Now when you want to create a New System, you have to fill four Properties they are:
"Connector" - contains basic connectivty details
"Internet transaction Server (ITS) - if you wish to use SAPGUI for HTML and/or IACs",
"Web Application Server" - if you wish to access BSPs and/or Web Dynpro for ABAP and
    "User Management".
You also need at least one "System Alias" has to be defined from the Display drop down menu.
Make sure you have set end user access in the Permissions drop down menu to all users who need to access the system
    10)  Select "Connector" property, now fill the required fields such as:
    a)      Application Host (should be fully qualified hostname) - Give the R/3 "Application Name",
which can be obtained from the SAP Logon Pad (check what R/3 system you are using, right click on it , go to the properties,
it will open a window which has the Application Server Name.
    b)      Logical System Name - Give the logical name as defined in the backend system
    c)      SAP Client - Check the Client in the backend system and give the appropriate number (3 digits)
    d)      SAP System ID(SID)* - Check the R/3 properties and give the check for System ID
    e)      System Type* - Since we are connecting to R/3, select SAP_R3 system.
    f)       System Number - This is a two digit number that you can find in the SAP Logon Pad
    11)  Select "Internet transaction Server (ITS)" property, now fill the required fields like
    a)      ITS Description à Give some Description
    b)      ITS Host Name - Same as "Application Host" of R/3 (when integrated ITS) and should be attached with the
port number of ITS Server (to get port number detailed description is given below). ex: hostname : port number
    c)      ITS Path - To get the path along with the port number you have to Log on to R/3 system. Use the
Transaction Code "SICF", it opens a new window go to:
          default_host -> sap -> bc -> gui -> sap -> its -> webgui -> SAP GUI for HTML -> right click on
that and click "Test Service'. This will open a new window, on the address bar you will find the "port number", and
the path something like (/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui). Use the path after the port number.
    d)      ITS Protocol - There are two protocols "http" & "https", select the appropriate protocol which is
visible when you opened "Test Service" window.
    12)  Select "Web Application Server" property , now fill the required fields like
    a)      Web AS Description -> Give some Description
    b)      Web AS Host Name - same as ITS Host Name
    c)      Web AS Path - usually /sap/bc/bsp/sapd)*
Web AS Protocol - should be same as the ITS Protocol.
    13)   Select "User Management" property, now fill the required fields like
    a)      Authentication Ticket Type - Since we are not using SSO leave the field
empty i.e. put in select mode. (Please note that longer term you will probably want to use SSO)
    b)      Logon Method - Select UIDPW.
    c)      User Mapping Type - In case you have administration rights then you choose "admin" or in case you
just have user rights then choose "user", better go for "admin/user".
    14)   Since all the required fields are filled appropriately now create a System Alias name, this can be done by following steps:
    a) go to Display -> Select "System Aliases" give some Alias Name, let's call it "SAP_R/3"
    15)  Now that System is created we have to create a iView which will display the given Transaction Code.
    16)  Go To "Content Administration".
    17)  Go To "Portal Content".
    18)  Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder
    19)  Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "New" -> iView
    20)  Select iView template, click next
    21)  Select "SAP Transaction iView" from the list of templates available. Click next.
    22)  Give the iView name and iView ID. Incase you want to give any brief notes about the iView then give it in "Description" field. Click next
    23)   Select "SAP GUI for HTML" radio button. Click next
    24)  Now select the system which you have create "SAP_R/3", give some Transaction Code, say SE12 (Dictionary Display). Click next and Finish.
    25)  Now Preview the iView
    26)  You will see a new Window where in SE12 Dictionary Display window is displayed.

    Senthil K.

  • SAP Netweaver 7 (2004) installation guide

    Hi,
I am trying to install SAP Netweaver 7 (2004) in my desktop. But I am
having problems with it. I do not know how to create a DDIC user and its password. At the last phase of installation it is trying to perform a test logon with DDIC user but failing. I am sure with my system hardware requirements. Can anybody give me a solution, or give me a installation guide which can help me to make it through ?
    Please help...............

    Hi,
DDIC is a default user.No need to create it.Its password is the master password that you should have given during the time of installation or you can give the password 19920706 which is defined by SAP.
DDIC is mainly for working Transport Mnagement System(TMS).

    Hi Twan
Where did you get the j2sdk1.4.2_11 for x64? I'm now starting a NW04s installation on x64 and SAP note 941595 presents a link to the SUN web site, but the link is not correct and results in an error. So I can not go on with the installation since I don't have the correct J2SDK.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Integrating a Java web application into the SAP NetWeaver Portal

    Hello experts,
We have a requirement to integrate a Java based web application into the SAP NetWeaver Portal using iView/iFrame technology. The Java based web application is completely independent from the SAP environment but should be displayed as part of the SAP Portal environment. The other requirement is the main navigation menu for the Java based web application should be configured and provided in the SAP Portal.
Any pointers on how exactly this can be done would be of great help.
Also how can the SSO (Single-Sign-On) to the Java application be implemented so that the user can logon to the java application through the portal without providing the user credentials again.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I think you can use URL iviews to integrate your java web application with EP. you have the option of doing SSO with the application as well.
Have a look at the sap help material

  • Installing Java Stack - Netweaver 7.0 EHP1

We currently have our ERP system installed (ECC6) and i am planning to install the Java stack on a separate server for portal and ADS.  I was at the Service Marketplace to download the installation files and was wondering what is all needed.  I have a Windows Server with SQL.  I assume that this would be a Central Instance installation and the guide mentions that the following DVD's are to be used:
    -Installation Master DVD
    -Kernel DVD
    -Netweaver Java SP14 DVD
    -RDBMS DVD
Within service marketplace I see the downloads for:
BS 7 SR1 Installation Master Windows Server on x64 64bit
    RDBMS MSSQLSRV 2008 incl. SP1 1 - 6
    BS 7 SR1 Kernel 7.01 Windows Server on x64 64bit
    BS 7 SR1 UC-Kernel 7.01 Windows Server on x64 64bit
there is no download for the Netweaver Java SP14 DVD files.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
    Thanks.

  • Install the Netweaver Components 2004s

    Hi
Looking for your help in 2004s installation in Windows 2003
How we are installing the Net weaver components in Netweaver 2004s?.
I installed SAP XI 3.0 in SAP web As6.40 as separate component. But I would like to know how we are installing the Netweaver components (BI, PI) in Netweaver 2004s after install the application  server (ABAP with Java).
    Our Landscape.
    Development System (ABAP with JAVA)
    SAP 2004s with PI -
windows 2003 / MSSQL Server (standalone system)
    SAP 2004s with BI -
Windows 2003/ MSSQL Server (standalone system)
I wend through the 2004s Installation document but I am not very clear about the components installation.
Can any body suggest the step by step installation the above?
    Kind Regards
    Ravi

    HI Samrat
We have plan to use 001 for development client as per SAP installation document . Now we don't have any plan to take client copy because  of our minimum resources.  Still  if i need to change in confitool, please explain to me what step i need to follow in configtool.
Now I default client is 001 (not 000).  I think In 001 all most all configurtaion predefined.
From this installation document i just follow this
    from Installation document
":If you install a new ABAP or <b>ABAP+Java</b> system, in most cases you do not need to perform the client copy for
the ABAP stack. SAPinst creates three ABAP clients during the installation, client 000, client 001, and client 066.
You can use client 001 for production.
The following procedure describes how to perform a client copy manually. We recommend that you use
client 001 as source client, however you can also use client 000 as source client."
    It ois ok ????

  • Questions about Netweaver portal

    Hi,
how is it possible to use the netweaver portal? Is it necessary to install something?
How can I activate it? How is the procedure to use the portal?
    We use SAP ECC 6.0.
    Thanks in advance.
    Michael

Short answer is yes, you have to install something.  You will need new hardware aside from your ECC box.  A basis person would install the Netweaver Application Server Java stack along with the NetWeaver Portal.  Once installed you have to connect it to your ECC system.  There are business packages, ie Manager Self-Service, Employee Self-Service, that add portal functionality to your users.  These packages run on the portal and would need installation also.
This is a brief answer.  For the in depth knowledge, you can research SDN.  There are plenty of resources on SDN.

  • Licença de SAP Netweaver Portal para Processo de B2B

    Pessoal, boa tarde!
    No aguardo, obrigado.
    Danilo

    Danilo,
    a licenca do NFE inclui:
    - Netweaver runtime: licença Web AS (ABAP e Java) para rodar os componentes SLL-NFE e SLL-NFE-JWS.
    - PI runtime: exclusivamente para utilizacao das interfaces do XI Content de NFE (SWCV SAP SLL-NFE 1.0).
Se vc precisa do PI para outras interfaces e/ou precisa do Portal para disponibilizacao de telas para clientes/fornecedores, essas licencas realmente estao fora da licenca do SAP NFE 1.0.
    Att,
    Henrique.

  • Single Sign-On Netweaver Portal with Cornerstone On Demand

    Hi
Does someone experiences with Single Sign-On between SAP Netweaver Portal and the Learning Management System of Cornerstone On Demand?
    The options are:
    - SAML: but at this moment we don't have SAML provider. Is it easy to use this with Netweaver 7.01 SP6 ?
    - standard SSO : encrypted string between SAP portal and LMS: client sends encrypted string with userid...based on encryption algorithm.: Has someone developed this (java code) for SSO to an other system?
But can they use Sap Login Tickets?
    Best regards
    Luc

    Hi,
I just recently implemented SSO between SAP system and on demand solution from 3rd party provider. We didn't have any guy with Java skills so we implemented HTTP handler in SICF that generates web page with redirection to the 3rd party system. ABAP does not have a good support for various encryption algorithms so we used javascript interpreter available in ABAP AS. Portal just points to ICF service on ECC system that redirects to on demand solution. Implementation took one day. Obviously, in this case all users had to have account in ECC system.
    Cheers

  • ESS for R/3 4.6C on new NetWeaver Portal -- deployment fails!

    Hi ESS Experts,
We're having problems deploying the older BP for ESS R/3 4.6C to our Netweaver Portal. Our Software Deployment Manager canu2019t install the file. Normally, BPs are .sca files but the BP for ESS 4.6C is a .zip file. We can manually rename the .zip to .sca, which is then shown in the SDM but the deployment always fails.
How can we install this BP for ESS 4.6C on our newer SAP NW Portal used for our BW system?
    Many thanks,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew
Have you tried to unzip the file and identify the required deployment files?
    Further to this -->
If you go to /swdc it states BP ESS 4.6C-4.7 50.4 (no longer in maintenance) - this product is no longer in
    mainstream maintainence
Also there are no guarantees that 46C products will work with Enterprise Portal versions from other SAP product families
    e.g NW 700 with ESS 46C
If you have extended maintainence for 46C perhaps you could open a CSS/OSS message in component BC-CTS-SDM
to investigate why the installation fails and whether there is any workaround
    Hope this helps

    Hi,
I want to call only one parameter RFC with webdynpro.

I want to push a button and pass parameter to RFC input and call RFC.

    Hello Cemil,
There's a seperate Web Dynpro forum for such posts, you should take a look there.
Nonetheless, the classic tutorial is the FlightList. If I was you, I would make sure to do this tutorial step-by-step as it should give you the fundamentals for understanding aRFC. On top of that, it's most likely already available to you on your SAP system...

  • How to get BI role in portal 2004s

is there any delevered roles of BI/IP in portal 2004s ?
do we have to download Business Package from SAP site to get more roles as we do not see any delivered roles for BI and IP in user admin of portal

For BI specifically, there is the
    1. Business Explorer Role
    2. Business Intelligence Role
    3. Business Planning Role
These are delivered roles and are installed with the BI-JAVA usage type. There is an additional role for admin cockpit called BI Administration Role. This role requires the Business Package for the Admin Cockpit to be downloaded and installed on your portal.
