Adding Bluetooth to my notebook

Hi,
I have a dv2-1039wm notebook that I've recently updated to 8.1.   I'd like to add the Bluetooth module that was available on the dv2-1000 series.  Can I do that to this one?  If so, how?
Thanks

  • Adding Bluetooth internally to DV7-3165DX?

What steps are involved with adding bluetooth internally to DV7-3165DX? What pitfalls should I avoid? Pics would help. As a measure of skill level, I have replaced hard drive and display (panel only) in same laptop. How difficult is it compared to these?
I am looking at buying the following to add bluetooth internally to my DV7-3165DX, so this would free up 1 usb port from bluetooth nano. I have a lot of usb accessories. DV7-3167NR used the same motherboard, 574679-001, and parts for internal bluetooth.
    537921-001     Bluetooth SB module
    583501-001     Bluetooth module interface cable

All you need to do is to buy a BlueTooth dongle, for about £10, which just plugs in to a USB port and you are BT activated. But unless it is the D-Link one that Apple recommends, it may not work with a headset, though it works OK syncing with and transferring files to and from a digital camera.

  • Adding Bluetooth to R705-P35

I would like to add Bluetooth to my R705-P35. I want to add it internally like if Bluetooth were installed at the factory. Is the wiring harness and Bluetooth module available as parts?  What parts are necessary and where do you get them? Is this possible?
I know it's easy to add a USB Bluetooth adapter but where's the fun in that!

  • Adding bluetooth fonction

Hello I have added the bluetooth to my imac so i could use wireless keyboard and mouse... but when my computer is on sleep it does not recognise either a mouse click a keyboard tap..so my computer just wont wake up ???

With Bluetooth module installed and seen by the wake system, can you
go into System Preferences>Bluetooth and choose to change settings,
so you can enable more features? My iMacG4 does not have BT installed
and it was an option, so unless there's some permissions issue or other
control setting to enable its full functionality, it should just work.
For some important keyboard combos and admin functions you
may need to still have a USB keyboard and mouse handy, be-
cause the Bluetooth hardware won't be energized for some of
the "on boot" keyboard commands you'd need to reset PRAM
or maybe other ones sometimes necessary for troubleshooting.
    You also may be able to add a BT 'control icon' to the main menubar;
similar to what a bluetooth-enabled 'Book will have. My iBookG4 has
bluetooth, but I don't use a wireless keyboard or mouse with it, so far.

  • Adding bluetooth capability to eMac w/o

I'm looking to add bluetooth capability to my eMac that didn't come with bluetooth installed. I added an airport card by myself, and it was fairly straightforward. Is there such a thing as a "Bluetooth card" that can be installed internally, or is my only possible option a USB dongle?

All you need to do is to buy a BlueTooth dongle, for about £10, which just plugs in to a USB port and you are BT activated. But unless it is the D-Link one that Apple recommends, it may not work with a headset, though it works OK syncing with and transferring files to and from a digital camera.

  • Adding bluetooth for HP DV-7-6163US

Can I add an internal bluetooth module for my HP DV-7-6163US?  If so, what is the part number(s)?
Also, it is better to replace my Wifi mod with one that supports bluetooth also?

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
Since your notebook specs indicate it has an Intel processor, you can add a separate bluetooth module, but doing so will be difficult. There is a lot of disassembly required.  See chapter 4, page 80.
You will need to order both the module and the cable.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02842278.pdf
If it were me, I would replace the wireless card with one of the ones with the combo bluetooth radio listed in Chapter 3, starting on page 31.  Make sure you look at the ones for all computer models or the ones with Intel processors.
I don't know what wireless card you have now, but bear in mind if you go with a combo wireless/BT card, they will all be single band (2.4 GHz) cards.

  • Adding Bluetooth Capability?

Can I add a Bluetooth Module to my Pavillion G7-1312NR laptop running on an AMD processor?  I'm looking for an internal one, not one that takes up a USB port.

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
    http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02834058/c02834058.pdf
Because your PC has an AMD processor, you cannot add a separate bluetooth module.
Your only option would be to replace your current wireless card with a supported wireless/bluetooth combo card listed in the service manual in Chapter 3, pages 26 & 27.
You can only purchase one of the wireless cards listed in the manual, and it must have the HP part number on it, or it will not work.
Please pay particular attention to the fact that some cards only work with AMD or Intel based processors as noted in the manual.

whn i pair my mouse i need a passcode. i do not have the box of the mouse becuase it is really old, how do i connect without a psscode or what is the passcode?

    See Microsoft KB952818
A Microsoft Bluetooth mouse does not require a passkey to connect to the computer.
If you are prompted for a passkey, select No passkey. If you do not get the
No Passkey option, try to enter 0000 as a passkey by using your keyboard.

There are BT adapters you can connect to the audio out on the TV.
However, there's a few problems doing this:
    1) Randomly placing speakers will make your audio sound out of balance unless you indiviudally adjust each speaker for the optimal seating position.
    2) You'll need powered speakers, each speaker will need a plug or need to be connected to another speaker in the set for power. Battery powered speakers sound terrible and don't hold a charge for very long.
    3) BT audio is stereo only, lossy, and unless you're willing to lay out some cash for the speakers the sound fidelity is pretty bad. Expect fun things like crackles and audio pops.

  • Adding bluetooth to a power mac G4

I"m getting a G4 tower as a back up mac and it does not have bluetooth. The only keyboard I have is the wireless keyboard connected to my macbook. How can I add bluetooth to the G4 so I can use the wireless keyboard with it?

    Hi-
Yes, you can. Get a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth adapter (rev B2 or later).
Very easy, and works very well.

I bought one like 2 and 3 (thou (2) got his pricing wrong and was only £2.75), one for my G5 and one for a windows laptop. I found that (2) dongle kept loosing my bluetooth mouse. I swapped the dongles over and found my bluetooth mouse preferred the (3) (only £1.75)
So any above should work and if plugged into your keyboard or the front of the G5 wont take up a USB at the back.

  • Bluetooth Device/HP Notebook TX2-1270US

I'm wondering, I had to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium and now the Bluetooth device is not showing in my device manager or in the system... The computer & all parts are functional - is there a driver for this to be operational or what?  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello DimtrijShal:
Sorry to hear about Windows 7 failer. Are you able to do a full recovery using your orginal recovery disk? If so please back up all the files you have before doing it. Write down the Windows 7 product code also. We will need it ounce you have vista windows reinstalled. You can find it in the package it came in or in the control panel displaying computers information. This number is also none as product key.
Now that your computer has been restored to original factory condition. You are now able to update Vista Windows to Windows 7 but this time you are going to use Windows Up Advisory open it up should be listed. This time just type in Windows 7 Product Code number and let it do its thing.
You can also goto your computers update web-page and see what's all involved in Up grading to Windows 7 they may have HP's Touchsmart software upgrades listed for downloads. Most Touchsmart software is listed. I have not yet seen any that did not display them. Yes you are in the correct section for your post. Some one need to realise HP Touchsmart tx2 are Touch computers also. So do not move your post from here. Let us know if you are still having troubles with your upgrade. Thank you frrw

  • Adding programs to mini notebook NB505-N508?

This is a novice question, but I was hoping someone could confirm.
Can this mini notebook run Quicken?  I have an external CD-ROM drive for installation, and the specifications for this computer seem to match what is required from Quicken.
My concern is that this computer seems to be for web surfing and such.  I just wanted to confirm it could also run software programs.  Quicken is the only program I need to run, and the only thing I will use this computer for.
    Thanks in advance!

Sure, Michelle. You'll find it can use most any programs that are compatible with Windows 7.
If it's a little slow, you can double the memory (from 1 to 2 GB).

  • Adding Bluetooth to my MDD dual 1.25??

Just curious if anyone knows if an Apple Bluetooth Module, Model A1044, p/n 820-1449 will fit/work in my G4 MDD dual 1.25? I believe that there is a built in antenna and plug right next to the AirPort slot in my tower. If not, how about a card with the p/n 820-1696-A? I think that one is for a newer G5 but not sure either.
Any info would be great. I can't find any info anywhere and I'm looking a a module on ebay.
I had originally posted this elsewhere but I think I found the right area for the experts to take a gander...
    Thanks much,
    Robert

    Carl B;
Specs for the '02 (DP 867, DP 1 GB, DP 1.25) FW400 MDD series lists a Bluetooth adapter in the "Other" section - options, I presume.
For the '03 1.25 (only) FW400 MDD, as you state, no Bluetooth option is listed under specs.
Since I already have a Bluetooth dongle in the internal USB port on my USB/FW PCI expansion card - and it works great - I really don't need this adapter. I did buy one and will check it out on my '03 FW400 1.25 MoBo. Actually purchased the adapter to try installing it in my wife's G5 iMac - bought it new but did not specify Bluetooth. Want to see if this will work. Just after we purchased the iMac, I inquired about Bluetooth and Apple said "tough luck, Charlie, nothing you can do now!" Told me the MoBos were different between no Bluetooth and Bluetooth option. Didn't really believe that. I'll know next week about both computers and Bluetooth.

  • Adding Bluetooth and Airport module?

I recently acquired a 1.25 GHZ 1st gen Mac Mini with a 40GB HD which did not include the Bluetooth / Airport module.
Is there any way to add it to the machine myself?
    Thanks,
    Awfers

If you Google for something like 'mac mini airport kit' you should get a number of hits, including from some suppliers who have had this item in stock, and with luck, one or two may still be able to supply one (Amazon claim to have 2 at the present time, but stocks in any location will likely vary quickly since there are few left on the open market and still lively demand). Prices in the past have ranged between about $90 and $109. Alternatively, Apple approved service providers can still obtain these, but many will only order one if you have asked them to fit it.
If you can get hold of one of these kits, it contains the Airport card and 'riser' and antennas for both Airport and Bluetooth. Fitting is relatively easy if you have confidence in opening your mini, and with a little care can be done in about 30 minutes.
