Adding BO System in SLD

Hi,
For ABAP systems we add it in SLD through RZ70 & for Java through Visual Admin.How to add BO system(SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 ) in SLD?Is there anyway we can add it through CMC?

Hi, if you read the document END-TO-END ROOT CAYSE ANALYSIS (System Landscape Setup Guide) V 2.14 section 4.40. You can read the following information :
>>4.40 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 & 3.1
Latest up to date information for SAP BOE 3.x is available in SAP Note 1357901.For Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.0 and 3.1 an automated creation of the technical landscape via SLD is not available. Therefore you need to create the technical landscape manually using the transaction SMSY and afterwards perform the managed system setup for all BOE Technical Systems created.

I have added ECC 5.0 system into SLD using RZ70 transaction . Now I need to add another web as ABAP system ( out crm system ). Is there any way I can add it automatically or I need to do add it manually using ' New Technical system , under Home -> Technical system ?

I'm not entirely sure about a Web AS ABAP system but with a Web AS Java system you can launch the Visual Administrator, navigate to the SLD Provider service and add the connection details for the SLD server and it automtically updates the SLD with the Web AS server. I guess it would be the same with the ABAP stack.

No Installed Products while adding Technical System in SLD!

Hello,
I am trying to add Technical Systems in SLD. when I was at the point to select the software components, I am not seeing any installed products on the left side.
I already gave the ABAP system details in the previous screens, in this wizard.
Why is it that I am not seeing any installed products.

Probelm in adding system in SLD

Hi,
I added ECC system (ABAP technical sys) in SLD of EP.
It was working fine.
Now i removed it from SLD and trying to add it again.

I logged off and logged in to SLD.Under ABAP technical system the entry is there but it is not showing Message server details,Installed products all this.
I need to get this info to creat JCO connections.
From that error message i can understand that it is saying system is allready there.But i removed and recreated still it is giving the same message.
Anybody please guide me with a solution

Adding System to SLD

Right now when I go create a model using the Create Model wizard, there is no option to select an SAP system.
So I figure that I have to add a system to the SLD, since our SLD had none of our SAP sytems set up. When I logon to the SLD via http://servername:50000/sld I click the Technical Landscape Link. Next I click the New Technical System button. Then I go thru the wizard entering in the proper information, until I get to the page where you have to add a product. It gives me no choice of product. What do I do here???
I am adding a Web ABAP system and have checked all the values to make sure they are correct...
Any advise on Adding a system to an SLD would be helpful. I've been over the documentation, but it doesn't seem very thorough

"The SLD server implements the DMTF Common Information Model (CIM) (www.dmtf.org). Before you start to use the SLD server, you have to import the information about available SAP components (CR_Content.zip). This file is located in the directory <system-install-dir>\SYS\global\sld\model.
Since CR_Content.zip contains all available SAP components, the content of this file grows with time. The extensions contain information about new components (new releases and Support Pacakges, for example). This content in the SLD has to be updated from time to time. You can download the most up-to-date files from the SAP Service Marketplace. See SAP Note 669669 for details.
To import the file:
1. On the main page of SLD, choose 'Administration' -> 'Import'.
2. Specify the file name.
3. Choose 'Import Data'.
The files are transferred to the SLD server. The typical load time for this import step is 20 minutes."

Add remote system to SLD

Hi folks,
I have a SLD set up to use the R/3 backend on the same server. I've also added another R/3 backend to the technical systems, so I can set up a JCO to use this. When I try to set up a JCO with the new backend and try to ping it I get the following error:

As I can see the JCO points to my local R/3 not to the remote one. So here's my question: How do I tell the SLD that my newly added technical system is in some onther place. I've added the hostnames respectivly but I can't see how the sld would know where to look for a hostname that's not part of the local domain.

Sure, so here's what I'm trying to do: I have a development system consistion of an ERP 5 plus Portal 6.0 and all nessaccery components. I'll use this system to develop webdynpro apps and get them running in the portal.
It's basically just prototypes but in order to give some customers the big picture I wanna connect my webdynpro apps to the customers R/3 for a live presentation with real data.
The Connection runns over JCOs implementing the SLD destination and login data for the remote system (customer side). The remote R/3 just holds an functional package (don't know how it's called in English) that's RFC enabled.
So now I'm facing the problem: How do I get the remote system to be accessable by my JCOs. My thought was just add it in the SLD as a technical system.
As you can see I'm lacking basic understanding of SLD. Maybe you could set me on the right track?

I want to create scenario that creates new updates system in SLD. I read in documentation that using B1if API new jobs can be added to JobCreator and JobExecutor. Is there any help or tutorial that shows how to create job step by step and use them to create, update or delete systems in SLD?

As per my understand, when you create a new company, you have to undergo upgrade SAP Server procedure, at this time SDL of your new company is created.
IF you are talking about document like B1PO to B1SO, then you have to refer other document.

Problem creating new ABAP Technical System in SLD

I newly installed a ECC 5 IDES system (ABAP + JAVA) on my computer for ABAP and Webdynpro learning.
I got problem when I try to create new ABAP Technical System in SLD.
I put my steps of installation here so you know my full story.
1. Install Central Instance (Non-unicode);
2. Install Database Instance (Non-unicode);
3. Install Java add-in on ABAP;
4. Configure the HTTP connection parameters in J2EE Engine Visual Administrator
All of the above steps are successful.
Now my Webdynpro application need to access a Function Module, so I want to create a JCo connection in Webdynpro Content Administrator, but both application server and message server are not available, so I can't create any connection.
I go back to SLD to register ABAP Technical System step by step below:
1.      Choose Home ® Technical Systems.
2.      Choose New Technical System.
3.      Select the AS ABAP radio button.
4.      Choose Next.
5.      Enter system details (Installation number, host name).
6.      Choose Next.
7.      Enter message server and central application server details.
8.      Choose Next.
9.      Choose Next.
10.    Add New Client 800, leave logical name blank, click Add.
11.    Choose Next.
12.    Here the system says 'No product available', the whole effort make no sense.
I tried every possible settings, but at step 12 it keeps telling me 'No product available'.
This is the problem I want to fix.
Can anyone help me?

Adding a system to Solution in Maintenance Optimizer

Dear All,
We have installed two NW systems. One is based upon NW 7.0 EHP 2 and the other is based on NW 7.4 SR1. On both of these, we intend to install Duet Enterprise 2.0 add-ons. I have been asked to calculate the SP stack for both NW releases. Based on my limited knowledge of Solution Manager, I have created a solution "Duet Enterprise" and added both systems info in SMSY (server, database etc.). Now, when I create a maintenance transaction in MOPZ, I am unable to see any system in product version in the operations tab as compared to another solution which shows a system SPR (please see attached screenshots).
Please advise the steps through which I can add a system so that it shows in the Duet Solution.

Problem with business systems in SLD

Hey guys
i m doing a IDOC to file scenario and m creating two business systems in SLD
the first one uses the logical system name of the R/3 server and has been configured as WAS ABAP.
when i try to create the second one as a third party using the logical system name i defined in BD54(on R/3 server),i get the error sayin that a business system already exist with the logical system name.
i do have one businees system which is using the same logical system but that has been configured as WAS ABAP.
cant i assign two different business names to same logical systems?

also just want to make sure

Error while trying to open an added backend system in portal

I need one help.
I have added our Backend SAP SRM system in the Enterprise portal and it worked good.
But now if I try to open the added SRM system in the below path
System Administration à System Configuration à System Landscape -> portal contents -> system backends -> MY SRM(added system)
I am facing the error page cannot be displayed error as below

Error while exporting the 3rd party technical system in SLD

    We're currently using PI 7.0. When trying to export the technical system in SLD, after the exporting, the IE jumps to the download page automatically, but there's a exclamation mark with no text info. I've tried to create a new 3rd-party technical system and try to export, the same thing happened.
    It happened in both our develop and our production PI system.

not sure if it has relevance, but the SLD level transports will do nothing but create a CIM file which should be downloaded to your deskktop.
1. Make sure that there are no Pop Up BLocker's acting on the XI server on your machine.
2. Make sure that you have the download authorizations on your machine.

Null pointer errors are difficult to correct as is
If you have imported the BS from some other system make sure the BS has been imported correctly without errors & any Tech systems attached to it exist.

In solution manager system not showing all the system in SLD

Dear Gurus,
During the installation of solution manger sysyem i selected as a Central SLD as solution manager
Later installed ECC 6.0 and EP systems selected SLD as solution manager system during the instllation.
If i login in to http://hostname:50000/sld (solution manger system) and the screen also not showing all the options also. some options missing in the tab. Wat I need to do to see all the options clearly.
It is not showing all the systems if i check in EP and ECC for SLDCHECK it is not givng any errror.
But if i login into solution manger not able to see all the system in SLD.

Hi Gowri,
sorry, i dont agree with the other answers. The logical system name is required for ALE partner finding. If you dont want to communicate with IDocs you dont need it. If you want to send messages from third party system to R/3 via IDoc adapter, then you should (can) give a name. It can be configured in IB directory as well (adapter specific identifiers). Choose any name, this name will be used for the partner agreement in R/3.
