Great!
I hope that you will integrate Muse and BC as soon as possible in a way that our clients can edit all their sites / pages via Muse by using In-Browser Editing tool. I understand that there are many challenges but this could be our common goal.

  • Hi, I'd like to add some typekit fonts to my Muse site but- ?

    I know this website:
    How to add Typekit fonts to your Muse site
    from Muse Insider,
    but it totally doesn't work for me, I tried a lot of times and I don't know what I'm doing wrong (I know that I have to publish the site first to see the added font but it still doesn't work ) I'm really confused, please help! (the fonts I want to add is Brandon Grotesque, Activ Grotesque).
    Looking forward to hearing from you soon...
    thanks,
    Karolina

    I was pretty disappointed to find out Muse didn't support the full Typekit library when Typekit became available to Creative Cloud members. It's clearly one of the biggest drawbacks in a Muse vs. Dreamweaver comparison. There are hacks available to incorporate Typekit fonts into Muse, but the "how to" procedures are not very user friendly. Muse Themes has a Full Typekit widget, but even it's not all that easy to use. They have a nearly 9 minute long video on their website describing the procedure.
    Adobe Muse Full Typekit Library Widget | MuseThemes.com
    Additionally, I was pretty disappointed by the number of typefaces in Typekit that were web only (such as Brandon Grotesk) or had only one or two of several font weight available for the desktop/print version (such as Trajan Pro and Trajan Sans Pro).
    As a consequence, I haven't messed with Typekit very much and honestly don't find a lot of value with it -at least not much of the access being blocked. So I'm still looking out for new fonts at bargain introductory pricing at sites like MyFonts or keeping an eye at some free sites like Font Squirrel.
    Incidentally, the "Edge" fonts in Muse pale in comparison just with what's available for free at Font Squirrel. Within Muse you'll get a pretty limited number of weight/style choices with the Edge fonts. At Font Squirrel some of those same fonts have many more styles/weights available to them.
    In the end, it's just a whole lot faster and easier to either buy or legally acquire web fonts either through pay sites like MyFonts or free sites like Font Squirrel and end up with the system and web fonts you can use on your computer in Muse without any crazy code hacks.

  • How do I add HTML5 animations from Adobe Edge in my Muse site?

    For now, here are the steps to use Edge output in Muse.
    Put all output files generated from Edge in the same folder that you want to export Muse output files. (keep all the subfolder structure e.g. edge_includes
    In Muse, use Object->Insert HTML... menu to insert the following code:
    <iframe src="Project-Header-r1v1.html" width="100%" height="100%" frameborder="0" scrolling="no">
    </iframe>
    Note
    "Project-Header-r1v1.html" is a HTML file name that part of your Edge output.
    Do not copy and paste the content in "Project-Header-r1v1.html" file directly since this refers to different jQuery file and it will also cause a duplicate Javascript include which break the output.
         3. Export your Muse site to the folder.
    Here's a movie showing Edge and Muse together:

    Adding a script after the closure of previous script is the way to go i.e. right after the </script> tag.
    So it should look something like below:
    <script>
    Google's script
    </script>
    <script>
    Bing's script
    </script>
    Cannot comment on one interfering with the other since it really depends on what exact code is there in the scripts. Google and Bing help resources will be able to help more with this.
    Thanks,
    Vikas

  • Embedding a Blogger Blog into my Muse Site

    Hi is it possible to embed a Blogger blog into my website? Or does Muse have a RSS Feed?

    Thank you for posting.
    Muse being a designing software, doesn't have RSS feed option. However, if you publish your site to BC, you will have the RSS feed and blog features as well. But if you want to host the site externally, you can embed blogger blog into muse site using iframe as mentioned in this doc https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/blogger-help-howdoi/Jy1sjSCTslE. You need to get the iframe code and insert it as html in your muse site.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I add a blog to my Muse site?

    Is there a widget or something I can throw onto a page and have people post comments?
    Or more importantly, can I just allow my customer to post "News" through In-Browser editing? (Do I just throw a text block on a page and title it, "News" and let them add to it)?
    What if they wanted to add photos to their "News" or "Blog" page?

    You can absolutely insert a blog into your Adobe Muse site. Most instructions for doing this involve creating a WordPress hosted blog, then embedding that into a Muse page with 'Insert HTML', which creates an iframe with your blog inside.
    While embedding an existing blog with an iframe within a Muse page works, it isolates the blog's content from being considered in the main site's SEO, since it's pages are not actually on the site's server.
    The simplest way, and it's very simple, is to install a WordPress, or any other, blog into a folder in your site named 'blog'. Pick a theme that enables you to mimic your main as closely as you care to. Then create a link in your main site's menu to link to the blog folder. Here's an example...
    http://creativeillusions.biz
    You can also use a blank WordPress theme with no header or footer at all - only the blog posts and sidebar(for categories and recent posts, etc.). Use that theme with a locally installed WordPress blog, them embed that blog in an iframe, and you'd have a very functional blog that can perfectly fit your Muse site's theme, since it's header and footer will actually be the ones on your main site. Plus, since it's actually hosted along with your Muse site's files, it's available for the site's SEO.
    For SEO purposes, you'll need to add your blog folder manually to your sitemap.xml. This is a bit of a hassle, since you'll need to add the blog's entry into your sitemap.xml each time that you re-upload your site, since that actually writes a new version of the sitemap.xml over the existing one. Still, it's a very simple way to add a blog to your Muse site.

  • What is the best Adobe App for building a rotating banner ad for a Muse site?

    I am inclined to build the banner ad slideshow in Flash, but I want iPad and iPhone users running iOS to be able to see it. What Adobe Application should I use? Thanks

    One option can be using Photoshop to create an animated .gif that you can place in your Muse site.
    Thanks,

    In this last episode, we'll show you how to share your trial site with your client. You'll see how to manage user logins, and how to activate a domain transfer and eCommerce features once you've made the sale. We'll also take a look at defining alerts based on specific client workflows, and using InContext Editing, the client-side editing feature just added to the Business Catalyst Platform.

    Great tutorial, thanks John!  You mentioned setting up the eComm via a partner portal, but didn't say what that was or how to set it up.  Can you please further explain how to "test drive" an eCommerce site before upgrading the account?

  • Launching a Muse site on Business Catalyst,

    I am very new to this and my organization is trying to launch a new site. We have it all built with Muse and on Business Catalyst now, but what do I need to do with our old site on another server first before adding the Domain name we have to Business Catalyst?

    Once you add the domain to Business Catalyst and finish all the DNS delegation steps listed in the article for launching a site on BC, your old site will no longer load and users will go to the new BC site.  Your old hosting then could be discontinued with whichever vender you used. Be aware that DNS can sometimes take 24 hours to fully propogate so you should wait to make sure that things are all loading properly.  -j

    I need to clarify how I can use adobe as a host for my site for free. I see where business catalyst is supposed to be temporary as well as it is recommended to use as the better alternative to launch my muse site. But then I have to use the long extension of "businesscatalyst" in addition to the domain name I'd prefer. How exactly can I take it live? do I have to use a third party hosting?

    Hi,
    Once you are done with your sitet, Click on Publish in Muse, select New Site from the drop down, It will ask you a name for your site, which will be used for  site url, you will get a url like mysite.businesscatalyst.com, then go to the browser and login to the admin panel, mysite.businesscatalyst.com/admin and on Dashboard, click Launch site. This will push your site live, and you can then add your custom domain.
    Also make sure that you have completed all these actions mentioned here

    Do let me know if you have any question.

  • Business catalyst - Muse sites in development not publishing

    Hi, I am getting an error message from Business Catalyst that my site validity cannot be verified and I can't test publish at the moment. It's happening across the board with all my current Muse sites still in dev. I've done nothing new/different since last night when they all were behaving normally. Could anyone tell me if I am missing something? Many thanks Jane

  • Business Catalyst blog not working properly on my Muse site

    I am following this tutorial to put a Business Catalyst blog onto my Muse site. Blog tutorial starts at 19:26.
    I'm not sure what part I'm doing wrong, since I'm following it all accordingly, but when I publish the final version of my website, the blog module is showing up as a 'page not found' box.
    My blog is all set up correctly on Business Catalyst too, and it is there. In Muse, my blog menus are pointing to /blog.
    Can someone please give me some suggestions on how to fix this?
    Kind of urgent, since it's for a one year anniversary celebration tomorrow, so I need my website all functional by then. I can give some more details/screenshots if you need them.

    Hi,
    This is what I see,
    Please let me know if you are still experiencing issue

  • How to add a user when Muse site is uploaded without Business Catalyst?

    Hello,
    I have uploaded a Muse site for my client on her own ftp server. But how can I add her as a "inbrowser editor", so that she can manage the site when needed? Or is it only possible to add a user when I upload the site on the Business Catalyst host?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    The June 2014 update to Muse enables In-Browser Editing for Muse sites hosted with third-party (non-Adobe) providers.
    See https://helpx.adobe.com/muse/using/whats-new.html#In-browser%20Editing%20enhancements for specifics.
