Adding Calendar to Itunes & Syncing

Hi when I sync my iphone up, I have no options to add a calendar. The only time I did was when I had to restore my settings and I do not want to do this again and lose everything. I should have clicked on the windows calendar option but I didn't as I wasn't aware it was the one I could use!
I used my iphone calendar but lost info the time I had to restore. How can I get calendar options back in itunes in order to sync? Do I need to contact Apple?

The option to choose calendar(s) to sync is on the Info tab in iTunes (with the iPhone connected and selected in the Devices list). You must first check the box to sync calendars, then you can choose which calendars to sync.

  • Adding ringtones without iTunes syncing?

Is it possible to add .m4r ringtones to my iPhone 5 without using iTunes to sync?

No.  Apple really has us locked into iTunes to prevent pirating and sharing.  This is really does mar the user experience as far as most people are concerned.  Because some people share songs, ringtones, movies, etc.  We all have to play in the iTunes Sandbox.

  • Problems adding songs to iTunes/syncing

    Hi there,
So I recently got a new 160g iPod, and went through the trouble of cleaning up my library. When i attempted to Sync all 9k songs i had, only about 2-3k actually made it to my ipod. So i reset my ipod to factory settings, uninstalled itunes and tried to reinstal itunes, and throw all my music back onto itunes. Now whenever I open itunes it says "analyzing music" at the top, as if i just dragged a bunch of new music into my itunes, and claims it will analyze roughly 5k songs. Well whenever this happens my itunes decides to crash and stop working. Im not sure if it is an iTunes problem, or my computers problem. here is the most recent (of many) crash reports. Any help is appreciated, just trying to get some tunes on my ipod.

Im sure someone will know better than me how to fix this but you could try opening windows exploror and going to the folder the songs are located in, rightclick the song, select "Open With" and pick iTunes. That might force iTunes to open and add the song then
I Know iTUnes has issues with MP#s and corrupt ID3 tags attacted to them. you can search the net for a program called "TidyMP3" to fix corrupt tags if you have them

  • HT1386 I am unable to get a two way calendar sync with my iPhone 4s and my mac's ical.  iTunes syncs my mac's calendar to the phone, but not the other way.  I do not use iCloud and I cannot find any menu for removing sync history as described by others.

I have spent 3 hours trying to get my ical updated on my mac with events added to my iphone calendar. Itunes will sync the calendars from the mac to the phone, but not vice versa.  I have read every post which relates to this problem, but I do not use iCloud, there is no iSync app on my mac, and there is no menu to delete sync history under system preferences.  My mac is fairly new and is running Mac OS X 10.7.4.   I tried to delete the iphone from itunes and start over, but can't even do that.   Now what?  Any advice short of throwing both devices out the window?

For resetting the sync history on a Mac running Lion - 10.7.x if needed.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
If you see the Sync menu in the menu bar, skip to step 3:
If you do not see the Sync menu in your menu bar, skip to step 7.
Hold the Option key on your keyboard, then click the Sync menu in the menu bar:
if you see the Sync menu but you are unable to open it, skip to step 8.
    Choose Reset Sync Services.
    Click Reset Sync History.
Test for the original issue. If the issue persists, or if you are unable to open the Sync menu, follow these steps:
In the Finder, choose Utilities from the Go menu.
    Open Terminal.
In the Terminal window, type or paste the following command on a single line:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/SyncServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/resetsync .pl full
    Press Return.
Quit Terminal after the operation has completed (when Terminal returns to the command prompt with a $).

  • Itunes sync mistake on calendar

I recently pressed allow on sync my calendar on itunes with my iphone by mistake. Is there anyway I can reverse this?

Adding info : after disabling the auto-sync, I was able to disable the calendar sync on this Iphone. Then the process for contacts, musics, movies, apps runs well.
Enabling the calendar sync again, it hangs .. again.
btw, I'm not using icloud but local sync.

  • When I sync my Iphone 4s to PC, the calendars do not sync and recently added dates on PC disappear. What to do?

When I sync my IPhone 4s to PC, calendars do not sync. Recently added dates on Outlook calendar disappear. I have called Apple support numerous times, they cannot resolve the problem.

    PK-Papa,
In my searching through the communities, I found this an answer that referenced this particular support file about restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service.  I followed the instructions, even though I have Windows 8, and it fixed the connection problem between the iPhone and iTunes.

  • Added calendar in iCal not synced to MobileMe

I moved a calendar from "On My Mac" to my MobileMe account group, using the export-import method. The new calendar, however, does not sync to MobileMe. I even tried an overwrite (bookmarks, calendars, contacts and keychains) from my Mac to MobileMe but the added calendar still did not appear in MobileMe.
I quit and relaunched iCal, which started an immediate sync. The new calendar promptly disappeared from iCal and I got a string of error messages (one for each entry in the new calendar, it seems) all ending with
    The server responded with
    “HTTP/1.1 409 Conflict”
and asking me to either "Go Offline" or "Revert to Server". It didn't seem to matter which one I selected – the error just kept cropping up. Eventually, I gave up and force quit iCal.
How can I add a new calendar to iCal that will sync with MobileMe?

    Derek,
I presume that this procedure represents exactly what you have tried to accomplish?
Import an iCal calendar or event
If you use iCal and want to add your iCal calendars and events to a MobileMe calendar, you can import them.
    Hide
    To import an iCal calendar:
Open iCal, and then select the iCal calendar you want to import into your MobileMe calendar.
Choose File > Export > Export.
Type a calendar name, choose a location from the Where pop-up menu, and click OK.You can store the exported file anywhere, and you can delete it after you finish importing it.
Choose File > New Calendar, and then choose a MobileMe calendar (by default, your MobileMe email address).
Type a calendar name (you can use the same name as the calendar you just exported), and press Return.
Choose File > Import > Import, select your exported iCal calendar, and then click Import.
Select the destination MobileMe calendar to which you want to add the imported iCal calendar, and then click OK.
Quit iCal and go to the Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars Folder and delete any/all files with "Cache" as a part of the name. Log out/in or restart and reattempt using the exact procedure which I copied from the MobileMe Help page.

  • How can I sync contacts and calendar via iTunes 11.1.8 to iOS 3.1.3 (iPhone 1)?

I am proud owner of an iPhone 1 and it still works fine, but runs on iOS 3.1.3. I updated my 2 year old iMac to Mac OS X (10.9) and I am now using iTunes 11.1.8. Actually, I bought my iMac because I was so enthusiastic to see how smooth syncing with my iPhone worked. Now, since OS X, I can not sync calendar and contacts anymore. I had to reset my iPhone and start from scratch, so contacts and calendar are empty.
Sync via iTunes does not work anymore because Apple deleted the direct sync function and my iPhone's iOS does not support iCloud.
Sync via CalDav does not work, beause for some reason my iCloud account is not approved when trying to create it in mail/calendar/contacts (I tried several times, crosschecked, all data appear correct to me and work in the browser access).
Sync via Google does not work, because obviously, my iOS does not support their calendar and contacts function.
Sync via Windows PC might work, but I would have to set one up from scratch.
Downgrading to iTunes 10.7 failed, because OS X didn't allow it. Downgrading the Mac OS might be an option, but I am already running e.g. Books and using it a lot.
    Any help is welcome.
    Iris
P.S.: I still remember Steve Jobs saying "it simply works!"

Thank you Meta, but I could not get the calendar and contact sync with Gmail to work. Apple support already suggested to use Google or a Windows PC. Maybe I should actually reset and try my old Windows PC. Seriously, ... can this be the solution after a Mac OS update for pure Apple users?

  • After iOS6 update, iPhone 4 doesn't sync calendar with iTunes

    Hello,
I have an iPhone 4. After update to iOS6 the sync of my calendar has a strange behavior! It doesn't sync anymore. When I enter a calendar entry on iPhone, it's not synchronized with the macbook Calendar.
I changed calendar dates on my macbook - it won't appear on my iPhone4.
I badly missed some dates, till I found that the Calendar doesn't sync.
I also set in iTunes the marked, that on next sync the calendar should be replaced - but even then the new entries doesn't appear. Completely strange is, that if I delete the calendar on my iPhone and resync by iTunes, I get the calendar back, but the new or changes entries don't appear.
What can I do, instead of waiting to get my new iPhone5?

Now I have my new iPhone5...
And what should I tell you?dar. Neither from iPhone
There is still no sync of the calender from iPhone to MacBookPro and no sync of calendar entries from the MacBookPro to iPhone.
I am helpless. I tried to replace the calendar - it syncs, but the edited entries do not appear - they were sync with the old entries. Where the **** do they come from?
Normal Sync, nothing happens...what's a smartphone
Does nobody have a guess or anything I can try? Really, this *****... what's a smartphone without a syncronized and working calendar??

  • I have DELETED calendars showing in my iTunes Sync Calendars list!?

    iMac late 2009
    OSx 10.10.2
    iPhone 6 Plus
    iOS 8.1.3
    Completely Up to Date!
no clouds involved, no calendar subscriptions.
I have had a major problem with my Calendar's calendars, which I have completely repaired using Calendar.  During that process, I had to rename a number of calendars in order to keep track of what I was doing - an intermediate diagnostic step.  Once I'd gotten everything right, exported all the "good" calendars to .ics files, and deleted ALL CALENDARS - both the good ones and the intermediately named ones -  then imported the .ics files back into Calendar... leaving me with ONE FULL SET OF CLEAN CALENDAR data.  When I open Calendars on my mac, I see 33 calendars listed on the left side of the window.
My problem now that I'm ready to put my calendars back onto my phone, is that my Calendars Library (library/calendars) still has many of the intermediate calendar files (that have NOT been DELETED) and in iTunes, the list of Calendars includes all these same intermediate calendars, as well as the new calendars that I want to transfer to my phone.  I would prefer to "select" "ALL CALENDARS" but I can't do that until I can remove the calendars that were supposed to be deleted/removed in the first place.  In other words, I have 33 good, clean Calendars, but there are 71 Calendars in my Calendar Library.
What are the correct steps to remove the Library/Calendars folder so that the iTunes "Sync Calendars" list only shows the 33 good calendars, and not the 38 unwanted (deleted) calendars.
What do I have to do to finish the job?

I have/had the same problem. I tried deleting all the "Library" "Calendar" preference files I could find and like others nothing worked. Like others they would just recreate themselves.
BUT, I did find the solution. Not sure which part worked, but this is what I did.
I quit all the apps, Calendar, and iTunes.
I went into the folder pointed to by job-seeker above:
                   <user>
                   Library
                   Containers
                   com.aple.CalendarAgent
                   Data
                   Library
                   Calendars
Manually went through each cached calendar folder and looked in the info.plist for the calendar title listed below "<key>Title</key>" and deleted the parent folders of no longer existent calendars.
Then find an app called "Reminders", open it and you will find all the deleted calendars that you have deleted over the years, they seem to get cached in it, delete them and quit.
Relaunch iTunes and find the deleted calendars in question are gone.
I think you could skip all the above and just try deleting the old calendars from this Reminder app and it may work, but the above is what I did when it worked for me and I do not want to recreate the problem just to verify my theory. ;-)
    Hope this helps,
    Michael

  • Songs that I recently added to my iTunes (not purchased from iTunes store) will not sync with my iPod touch 4th generation. How can I fix this?

I typically download my music directly from youtube. I have never had any issue when it came to putting it on my ipod touch (4th generation). However, today, I downloaded a couple of songs, added them to my iTunes (11.1.4). When I hit "sync" it said at the top that it was "Synching iPod: Steps 1of 3." It went through these steps incredibly quickly, a matter of seconds really, and I went to check it they had synced. They had not. I tried this several times before uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. Even with the re-install, it does not work. I am wondering if it is because these songs were not downloaded directly from the iTunes store. i tried downloading a song from the iTunes store and it is currently in my iPod, so I know that it is able to sync music.  I just started using this version of iTunes as I just installed it on the laptop I just bought (windows 8).

Was the iPod setup via iTunes on this computer?
    Setup via wifi?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

  • Address & Calendar No Longer Sync & iTunes Won't Enable It

Problem appeared on 1st Gen iPod and iPod Photo recently, might have occured with update to iTunes 6.0.1 (now using 6.0.2 with no improvement).
I have done a full iPod Restore with no improvement.
iPod sync of addresses and calendars used to work perfectly. For years.
iPod will sync my music and the iPod will work fine if I add calendar and address information manually to their respective folders.
But, when I attempt to turn on Address or Calendar syncing in iTunes (with or without having just done a Restore) I get the warning: "No Contacts Available" or "No Calendars Available". This isn't so. This is a new problem that never occured before.
I have done a Restore with no improvement. I am not doing another.
    Any suggestions?
It happened before updating to OS 10.4.4 (no problems with update).
    PowerMac G5 1.6GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I would also appreciate the answer to this.
I have never had a problem getting iTunes to sync address book and calendar onto my iPod Photo until after this update... Mac OS X 10.4.4 / iTunes 6.0.2
The only difference is that the new iTunes stated that my music library was damaged after update so created a new one and had to download new library to my iPod Photo. Now I am just left with the problem stated by Steven above... My address book is there (and has contacts) and my iCal is there/has entries. In iTunes, on selecting Address book or Calendar via iTunes Pref (for iPod), I get the same warning... "No Contacts Available" or "No Calendars Available". I am kind of glad I am not the only one but am keen to get it resolved. Thanx.
    Anthony.

  • Outlook calendar no longer syncs after IOS 7 / iTunes update

Running Outlook 2003 on Win XP.  Yes that's what IT allows....
Updated IOS7 (now at 7.0.3), tried to sync on the next day at work.  Itunes forced me to update (11.1.2.31).
    Updated iTunes.
    Notes sync.
    Calendar does not.
    iTunes says:
    Sync Calendars
Your calendars are being synced with your iPhone over the air
Over-the-air sync settings cane be changed on your iPhone
I've disabled OTA calendar sync I know of (Google, iCloud) with no effect.  There are still some iCal feeds that I left on.
Suggestions appreciated, but I'm stuck with my work environment for now.  Really would like to get back where I was before "updating". :-)

Still struggling with this.  I did discover a diagnostic in iTunes, but it says all is well.  I suspect that is because it thinks the iPhone is syncing the Outlook calendar over the air:

  • ICal calendars no longer syncing to ipod using itunes after Snow Leopard

Help! I upgraded yesterday to the new Snow Leopard and I can no longer sync my calendars to my ipod 5G. I do not have an iphone and this is the only way I can see my calendars. Did Snow Leopard "update" the calendars so that iTunes can no longer see them? I get the error message that there is no calendars available to sync, when indeed, I have 10. Please help!

    Hi, some more information...
I worked with Apple on the phone for three hours, to no avail.
the troubleshooting steps are as follows:
    1. deleted from HD/username/Library/Caches the "com.apple.ical folder"
    2. deleted from HD/username/Library/Preferences the file "com.apple.iCal.plist"
    3. deleted from HD/username/Library/Calendars the "Calendar Cache" file
    4. removed and reinstalled itunes
    5. "restored" ipod to factory default settings
    6. exported, deleted, and re-imported all calendars (individually)
    7. plugged in ipod and tried to sync calendars - still not working...
This issue has been escalated up...
After seeing many posts with ical issues with Snow Leopard, I think I am not alone...
    None of this has helped
