Adding chapter markers in a made for ipod video?

Hi
Can one add chapter markers to a video compressed for ipod viewing, so as viewers can skip to different sections of the movie?

Yes, you can add chapters to any supported video through QuickTime Pro. However, I am not sure that these can be noticed within iPod. To add chapters in QuickTime Pro 7.0, see this article: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/chaptertracks.html

  • Adding Chapter markers inside dvdPro

    Hi
I have a project loaded into DVD Studio Pro.
In DvD Studio Pro, I added chapter markers to my project.
Would it be possible for me to add a working chapter index to the menu now?
I know I should have added the markers while still in FCP.
    Thanks for any advise
    Niel

Create a menu page for the chapters and link to the chapters from that page. You'd also need to link the menu chapter page on the main menu page.

  • Low resolution albumart when connected to 'made for Ipod' ICE-systems.

I've recently installed a new stereo in my car. It is 'made for Ipod', and should therefore work great with my new Ipod Touch (3G) 32GB. And it does, in all ways but one. The albumart, shown on the stereo, looks really poor (with low resolution).
I've spent some time looking for info in this matter on the net. Apparently the same problem occurs with many different brands of ICE-systems (In Car Entertainment). According to posts on other forums this problem came with a recent firmware upgrade (v3.0?), and possibly has something to do with coverflow. Older versions of Ipods apparently shows crisp albumarts on these stereos (can't confirm this, my Ipod is too new).
Since it seems it could be a software related problem, can one expect a fix in future firmware upgrades? Or is this something I/we have to live with (due to limitaitons in the hardware)?

I'm having a similar problem. I can pair  my ipod nano with my BT speakers first time and work perfect, but the next time I try to play music through the speakers I MUST do a manual connection beacuse the nano not auto connects with ANY paried devices. I mean, the BT speakers appears as paried, but not connected
    I am extremely frustrated too.
    Any idea?
Tested with diferent devices with same behaviur.

  • Samsung DVD Home Theater HT-X50 "Made for iPod"

We purchased the Samsung Home Theater system because it had "Made for iPod" on the box and player. We couldn't get it to recognize the USB source, so I checked the manual. NONE of the compatible devices listed are iPod's. I called Samsung technical support, and they told me I should have read the manual before purchasing the player. Has anyone else had this experience?

2 Press the AUX button on the remote control to select <AUX1> input.

  • HT1665 My ipod does not charge on wall chargers or speaker/chargers made for ipods.

My sister is able to charge her ipod to the wall chargers and speaker/chargers made for ipods and my ipod touch will not charge on these.

    See the not-charging topic of:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    Have you tried another cable?
Another charging source? Does iTunes see the iPod when you connect to your computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.

  • Quick Time Pro installation for Ipod videos

I have been trying to download video files to my Ipod. I read where I needed Quick Time 7 so I downloaded it. It didn;t work. I was told I needed Quicktime 7 Pro. Bought it. When I followed instructions for converting my video files I received an error message saying my video files were not movie files. After discussing the issue with an Apple support person it looks as if I do not have Apple Quick Time 7 Pro. I followed the directions and when I open Quicktime in the control panel it has my name and unlock key and says Quicktime 7 Pro. However when I open Quick Time Player and go to ABOUT...it says Quicktime 7.0.3. How do I get what I paid for so that I can convert my video files and treansfer them to my IPod? Help!

QT Pro is not a separate application. The Pro key unlocks the Pro capabilities that are in the free version of the Player. You should find a preset for iPod videos by loading the source files and using Export from the File menu. Note that QT will not export the sound track from muxed mpegs, like mpeg-1 or mpeg-2. QT Mpeg Limitations
For those you will have to try some of the Windows applications that have appeared since the iPod was released. Here is the link for one of those Windows iPod exporters that should work with avi and mpeg files. It is freeware.

  • Add chapter markers to a file for upload to iTunes U

I have a 30 minute programme to upload.  It analyses the rehearsal of a piece of music and has about 30 chapter markers to take you to the exact next point in the score.  I can export out of FinalCutPro 7 with markers - but how do I keep them in when encoding for iTunes U?  I have Compressor 3.5.3.
I assume as this is a place where people are communicating complex things requiring close scrutiny that this issue has been addressed, somewhere, somehow, by someone??
Would be great to hear.  Thanks

  • Adding chapter markers in DVDSP

I am currently having a problem with my project. One of my tracks was revised by the client. I edited a new sequence in Final Cut Pro with chapter markers at the begenning of every spot. When I saved it as an mpeg-2 I named it the same as it was named previously and replaced it with the new sequence. Usually this would automatically update within my DVDSP project and all would be good. For some reason this time it has updated in DVDSP but it will not recognize chapter marker 1. In order to work around this I am trying to add a chapter marker inside DVDSP but cannot figure out how. I looked at the manual and as of right now can't find that info. Thanks in advance for your time and your input.

    Hi PMO
If you line the playhead up to where you want your marker and press the 'm' key you get a marker in the timeline. IMHO if you're changing an asset in a timeline and giving it new marker positions you're better of creating a new track. Because you can add chapter markers in DVDSP, it will not always recognise new preassigned markers if there's already markers in the timeline.
    Good luck

  • Auto Adding Chapter Markers in FCPX?

Is there a way to easily add chapter markers per edit in FCPX?  I have a timeline of over 100 clips and I'd like to add a chapter marker at the very beginning of each new clip.
I've seen this question asked on the internet a few times but they were all from posts dating at least 2 years old...
    Any help is appreciated!

I think you will probably have to do it manually.
You can speed it up a bit by hitting the down arrow to jump to the next clip, press M, double-click the standard marker that appears and select "Chapter" from the contextual menu.
Alternatively you could press M twice which will open a window allowing you to click on the third icon which is a chapter marker.

  • Is there any way to adapt and connect an AppleTV to  30pin Digital Audio with Certified and Made for Ipod/Iphone only declared HiFi like Panasonic SC-PMX5EG-S to listen via Airplay my Digital Audio content only?

Please advice. I do not like to wire up this box by RCA-Audio jack or any other analog technology
btw.: Cheap Bluetooth modules do not work on this HiFi reciver and will be detected like: "unsupported device", because it is made for Apple* only...
    Thank you in advanced,
    Kind regards,

The ATV does not connect to dock or lightning connectors.  It connects to a TV or AV receiver.

  • Trouble adding chapter markers

  • Remote for ipod video

i have hooked my ipod to the onkyo stereo with a docking station made for the onkyo system will the remote work with this docking station or do i have to buy something else. thanks bill.

The Apple remote only works with the Apple dock and iMac not 3rd party accessories. To make a movie playlist just make it in iTunes and transfer it to the iPod via auto update or manually. Then, on the iPod, go to Video>Video Playlist and you will see the list that was transferred to the iPod. All movie and video playlist will appear under that section.

  • What video converters is the best for Ipod Video??

Hi i just have a question about the video converter thing.
right now i'm using the "winavi" for my ipod and is alright, but can't really do well at separating file.
Another 1 is "Xlisoft" Great but "Winavi" can convert more kind of files than "Xlisoft"
Any suggestion of the video converter softwares??

Well Videora is good http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ but I wouldn't recommend it for videos over 20 minutes because then the sound doesn't match up with the voice; but pretty good since it's free; and I've tried to download Handbrake but it was made for mac's and even though they made A Windows version it did not download well; I opened it and it said that the file was not there.
