Adding contacts across multiple exchange accounts?

I have multiple exchange accounts syncing contacts to my iPhone. When I add a contact to my phone manually, is there a way to select which account I want it to sync with, or does it always just go to the default account?
Additionally, is there any way to physically merge my :"unified contacts" and sync back to my exchange accounts (some have different info)

Thanks! I have done that, but new contacts are still only placed in the "On my iPad" group. I know that previously, without multiple Exchange accounts, contacts were automatically added to the only Exchange account.

  • How to setup multiple Exchange accounts in Mail with the same username/password

Okay didn't see a place to ask a Mail question so I am placing this here.
I work for a helpdesk that requires me to monitor 4 different email accounts throughout the day. They are all Exchange accounts. The first one setups just fine but when I go to setup the others I get a message that states that the username and password are in use for the other account. Is there any way to setup multiple Exchange account when using the same LDAP creds for all the accounts?

    Csound1,
I need to add a second Exchange account to my MBP using Mail.  Both accounts are with Rackspace, but each email address is unique (i.e., two different domain names).  When I use Preferences to attempt to add the second account, it recognizes the new credentials, finds the server and autopopulates the necessary address information.  But, as soon as I click "Done" after setting which functions are active on the account (mail, cal, contacts, etc.), the screen shows only my original Exchange account.  The new one is not added, yet there is no error message saying that it can't be added.  Any idea what is going on?  Shouldn't Mail be able to have multiple Exchange accounts, even if they are hosted via the same Rackspace server (in this case: connect.emailsrvr.com)?
    Many thanks,
    Wally

  • Outlook 2010/multiple exchange accounts/new mail notification on one only

Hi, is there a way to have multiple exchange accounts in Outlook 2010 but just have new mail notifications on the first only?
I tried having the first exchange account open an additional user, but running into memory errors as a result. Found the solution to that by adding them as separate accounts, but this creates noise with mail notifications, reminders, etc-
    Thanks in advance - Joe

    Hi,
You can configure multiple Exchange accounts in Outlook 2010. For details on how to configure, you can refer to this article:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/outlook/archive/2009/08/25/multiple-exchange-accounts-in-outlook-2010.aspx
Also, only the default mail store will get the new mail icon. You can use rules to pop up a desktop notification for the other accounts but the icon will only appear
    for the default account.

  • Sharing an iTunes Library across multiple user account and a network.

Sharing an iTunes Music Library across multiple user accounts.
    Hello Everybody!
Firstly, this was designed to be run in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. It will not work with earlier versions of Mac OS X! Sorry.
Here's a handy tip for keeping your hard drive neat and tidy, it also saves space, what in effect will be done is an iTunes music library will be shared amongst multiple users on the same machine. There are advantages and disadvantages to using this method.
    • Firstly I think it might be worthwhile to state the advantages and disadvantages to using this approach.
    The advantages include:
    - Space will be saved, as no duplicate files will occur.
    - The administrator will be able to have complete control over the content of the iTunes library, this may be useful for restricting the content of the Library; particularly for example if computer is being used at and education institution, business or any other sort of institution where things such as explicit content would be less favorable.
    - The machine will not be slowed by the fact that every user has lots of files.
The disadvantages to this system include.
    - The fact that the account storing the music will have to be logged in, and iTunes will have to be active in that account.
    - If the account housing the music is not active then nobody can use the iTunes library.
    - There is a certain degree of risk present when an administrator account must be continually active.
    - Fast User Switching must be enabled.
    Overview:
A central account controls all music on the machine/network, this is achieved by storing iTunes files in a public location as opposed to in the user's directory. In effect the system will give all users across the machine/network access to the same music/files without the possibility of files 'doubling up' because two different users like the same types of music. This approach saves valuable disk space in this regard and may therefore prove to be useful in some situations.
This is a hearty process to undertake, so only follow this tutorial if you're willing to go all the way to the end of it.
    Process:
    Step 1:
Firstly, we need to organize the host library, I tidied mine up, removing excess playlists, random files, things like that. this will make thing a bit easier in the later stages of this process.
Once the library is tidied up, move the entire "iTunes" folder from your Home directory to the "//localhost" directory (The Macintosh HD) and ensure that files are on the same level as the "Applications", "Users", "Library" and "System" directories; this will ensure that the files in the library are available to all users on the machine (this also works for networks)
Optionally you can set the ownership of the folder to the 'administrator' account (the user who will be hosting the library.), you may also like to set the permissions of 'you can' to "Read & Write" (assuming that you are doing this through the user who will host the library); secondly you should set the "Owner" to the administrator who will be hosting the library and set their "access" to "Read & Write" (this will ensure that the administrator has full access to the folder). The final part of this step involves setting access for the "Others" tab to "Read Only" this will ensure that the other users can view but not modify the contents on the folder.
    Overview:
So far we have done the following steps:
    1. Organized the host library.
    2. Placed the iTunes directory into a 'public' directory so that other users may use it. (this step is essential if you plan on sharing the library across multiple accounts on the same machine. NOTE: this step is only necessary if you are wanting to share you library across multiple accounts on the same machine, if you simply want to share the music across a network, use the iTunes sharing facility.
    3. set ownership and permissions for the iTunes music folder.
    Step 2:
Currently the administrator is the only user who can use this library, however we will address this soon. In this step we will enable iTunes music sharing in the administrator's account, this will enable other users to access the files in the library.
If you are not logged in as the administrator, do so; secondly, open iTunes and select "Preferences" from the "iTunes" menu, now click the "Sharing" tab, if "share my library on my local network" is not checked, the radio buttons below this will now become active, you may choose to share the entire libraries contents, or share only selected content.
Sharing only selected content may be useful if their is explicit content in the library and minors use the network or machine that the library is connected to.
If you have selected "share entire library" go to Step 3, if you have selected share "share selected playlists" read on.
After clicking "share selected playlists" you must then select the playlists that you intend to share across your accounts and network. Once you have finished selecting the playlists, click "OK" to save the settings.
    Overview:
    In this step we:
    1. Enabled iTunes sharing in the administrator's account, now, users on the local network may access the iTunes library, however, users on the same machine may not.
    Step 3:
Now we will enable users on the same machine to access the library on the machine. This is achieved by logging in as each user, opening iTunes, opening iTunes preferences, and clicking "look for shared music". now all users on the machine may also access the library that the administrator controls.
This in effect will mean that the user will not need to use their user library, it will be provided to them via a pseudo network connection.
As a secondary measure, I have chosen to write a generic login script that will move any content from the user's "Music/iTunes/iTunes Music" directory to the trash and then empties the user's trash.
This is done through the use of an Automator Application: this application does the following actions.
    1. Uses the "Finder" action "Get Specified Finder Items"
    1a. The user's "~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music" folder
    2. Uses the "Finder" action "Get Folder Contents"
    3. Uses the "Finder" action "Move to Trash"
    4. Uses the "Automator" action "Run AppleScript"
    4a. with the following:
    on run {input, parameters}
    tell application "Finder"
    empty trash
    end tell
    return input
    end run
IMPORTANT: Once the script is adapted to the user account it must be set as a login item. in order to keep the script out of the way i have placed it in the user's "Library" directory, in "Application Support" under "iTunes".
    Overview:
    Here we:
    1. Enabled iTunes sharing in the user accounts on the host machine, in effect allowing all users of the machine to view a single iTunes library.
    2. (Optional) I have created a login application that will remove any content that has been added to user iTunes libraries, this in effect stops other users of the machine from adding music and files to iTunes.
    Step 4:
If it is not already enabled, open system preferences and enable Fast User Switching in Accounts Options.
    Summary:
We have shared a single iTunes library across multiple user account, while still allowing for network sharing. This method is designed to save space on machines, particularly those with smaller hard drives.
I hope that this hint proves to be helpful and I hope everybody will give me feedback on my process.
    regards,
    Pete.

  • Multiple exchange-accounts

    Hi everybody
I have a gmail that contains all my personal e-mails, contacts and calender notes. I also have a work e-mail that contains alle my work related e-mails, contacts and calender note (meetings ect.)
Both accounts can configured as a "Mail for Exchange" which suites me perfectly. I have tried iPhone and Android and it works perfect with multiple exchange account - but Nokia C7 doesn't? Why?
I have googled this for some time without getting any good anwers. Some people says that raodsync does the trick but on the roadsync supportpage the developers state that rodadsync only support one exchange account at the time.
Can it be true that the largest cell-phone manufacturer in the world don't support this simple feature. iOS and Android does...
Please help me, I would like to switch to Nokia but this issue is a deal-breaker :-(
    Sincerly yours

I have now an exchange active sync account for my company mail and calendar. Could you please help me how to sync my outlook.com calendar with my Nokia?
Let me know if this possible at least.
    Thank you in advance,

  • Support for multiple Exchange accounts

I can't seem to get multiple exchange accounts to work in Mail. Everything I have read says it should work but no such luck.
I have 4 accounts on our exchange server so i need them all in Mail. The first one I set up works fine, but if I add others, the messages do not appear in the mailboxes anymore.
Has this happened to anybody else? I have tried it on my iMac and my MacBook Pro and the same thing happens on both.

    Same thing happens to me.
When I add a second exchange account, all of the mail (including folders) from the first account move into the second one. The first account that was added is empty. I have two other exchange accounts, but haven't dared to add them. For now, I deleted the second account and have just the one (that is used the most) setup in Mail.

  • Outlook 2010 - Multiple Exchange Accounts - Won't send from second account

I've setup multiple exchange accounts in Outlook 2010.  I receive fine for both accounts, but cannot send from second account.  Sent email goes to the Outbox and stays there.
I've tried going back to a second profile, and it works fine.  Mail in Outbox from efforts above stay in Outbox.  If I pull them up, I can resend with no issue.
I need to be able to send with multiple accounts in same profile to do other projects I'm currently working on.  Any ideas???
    Thanks,

I was able to fix this with Outlook 2010 Service Pack 1.
Another area that I had to change was the inbox for that other account I created a rule to put in the primary inbox folder (email 2).
After that the email was only checking one to send and recieve based on the highlighted account, so to resolved that I went to Send/Reveive Groups > Define Groups > Edit Account Properties and made sure they refresh every 1 minute(s).

  • Office Small Business Premium 365 - Setting up multiple Exchange accounts

Can we set up multiple Exchange accounts on a single Outlook profile using Outlook 2013 (365 Full App)?  We have an email subscription to O365, and we have another email account that's hosted with GoDaddy that's an Exchange account.  I think it's
possible, but I'm being advised that it isn't reliable (or that it can't work).  I found this TechNet article that seems like it
should work: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee815819(v=office.15).aspx   However, I don't have OCT with O365 Small Business Premium, so I don't know how else to do this...
    Any suggestions/advise?  Thank you!

Seems like it is possible.  I was able to add two exchange accounts (office 365 services) into Outlook 2013.  I guess this is possible through Email Accounts (add New...).  Thanks, Microsoft!

  • Searching Multiple Exchange Accounts in Outlook 2010

    Hi
After upgrading to Outlook 2010, one of my users can no longer search multiple exchange accounts.  Here is the background.  The user is an administrative assistant for 2 partners.  She has full permissions against their mailboxes.  Their
accounts show up under her Outlook profile and she can access all the mail, calendars, etc.  However, when she searches, she only gets results back for her mailbox.  She needs to be able to search and get results back from the partners mailboxes
as well.  Is there a setting we are missing?

    Hi,
It seems to be an issue fixed by the updates. Make sure you have patched Office 2010 SP1 and have the programs up to date on the assistant's computer.

  • TS3276 can you have multiple exchange accounts in mail in mountain lion

can you have multiple exchange accounts in mail in mountain lion

Just use IMAP for the accounts. I have 4 Exchange accounts in my Mail app and they are all set up that way. but yes, there can only be 1 Exchange account (which I believe has more to do with the Exchange API than Macs)
    hope this helps.

  • Multiple Exchange accounts on iOS7

In iOS6, it was possible to have multiple Exchange accounts that each had their own calendar, and you could show both calendars with different colors. Now only the main account's calendar shows up.
Exchange + Gmail still shows up as two separate calendars, though, as do any other accounts.
Is this a known iOS 7 bug, a stripped out feature, or something no one has seen before? It's happening on a dozen pads & phones our company just updated, and the shared calendar is very important.

Further research has shown this isn't an iOS problem, it was the move to Exchange 2010 that caused the problem. It has a new default limit of 10 on shared sync connections.

  • IOS 4.0.1 Email Subfolder problem with multiple Exchange accounts

    Hi folks,
Situation: iPhone 4, iOS 4.0.1, multiple Exchange accounts, corporate exchange server 2010
problem: Emails are of course organized into subfolders. However, my iPhone only displays NEW incoming Emails when they are sent to an accounts ROOT Emails folder. I can access the subfolders of each account using the "account:" buttons and read the mails - but thats useless since I dont have an idea WHICH folder of WHICH ACCOUNT received a new mail!
to me, that is definitely a bug - not a feature.
    any ideas?

I cannot believe this is actually the case -- I'm experiencing the same problem and it's driving me nuts! Come on Apple; this needs to be fixed if you actually expect the iphone to become a real business device.

  • Problems setting up multiple exchange accounts with same user name

    Hello,
I have two email addresses on the same exchange server at work that I would like to configure on my iPhone4 running iOS 4.3.3. I can setup the first email just fine but when I set up the second email iOS tells me " Cannot Create Account: An identical Exchange account already exists". Here is a working example:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
username and password for both email1 and email2 are the same credentials. Am I getting this error message b/c the username for both accounts is the same? if so is there a workaround for it without having to change the username for one of the accounts?
Any help would be appreciated. Also, we are using Microsoft Exchange 2010.
    Thanks

I'm having the same problem. From all the information I can find, iOS doesn't allow you to access multiple Exchange accounts using the same credentials. I'm not sure if this is a restriction of iOS or a restriction of Exchange ActiveSync.

  • Multiple exchange accounts  - Different contacts for each account

I currently have two Exchange accounts on my iPhone 5s. I would like to know whether I can manually select on which account a new contact will be saved, each time I add a new contact. This is easily done on any Android device as you have the choice to select the account (whether it's your Gmail or an Exchange account) on which the new contact will be saved.
    Thanks,
    Markos

my understanding is that it will only handle one exxchange account. this is a symbian limit, but a good one. you could end up with sync issues and data confusion.
this being said...you ciuld, if you have other accounts you want to use like exchange but not have calendar and contacts sync, set up your email as imap4.
this works great and even if your company email is set up for exchange, you should be able to use imap.

  • Contact synchronization between multiple Exchange accounts

I have one Exchange account to Lotus Notes and one to Gmail.
I would like two sync the two contact lists, to make sure all contacts are available if I log in to Lotus Notes on my computer or Gmail on a computer. Is it possible to make these sync to the same contact group on my Iphone?
Now all contacts are available on the phone, but they are not synced to each other.

Thanks for the clarification, this was what I feared. I guess I have to find a work around to sync it then. Anyone with good suggestions?
