Adding copy to the front off a photo

I am using Lightroom 1.4.1 and would like to make a title on the front of a number of photos. Anyone know how to do that or if I can?

You can make a custom identity plate and put that on top of your photo. If you want to have different copy on each photo, that would be a bit more tedious, as you'd have to make an identity plate for each photo, but it could be done.

If you have actually made any changes (e.g. adding a Sticky Note or filling out forms), the Save button will appear in the bottom toolbar. It will save it as the same name.
"- Copy" is added only when you tap/click the Save As button. You can change it to something else, if you'd like.

How did you transfer it to the PC?
Not good to export as a Word .doc/x, better to:
Menu > Export > PDF

Nokia N97 - adding apps to the front screen

I want to add downloaded applications to the front screen. I tap on one of the empty spaces and the home screen and select "download content" this takes me onto the Ovi store website. I've downloaded a couple of applications and they appear in the Applications folder under settings. But when I try and add these on the front screen by clicking "add content" they do not appear in the list.
How can I add them to the home screen? thanks

Find the website you want to have as an icon on your "desktop" Find or create the image that you want to use as an icon. Then go to this web site:
http://webclip.us/
and follow the directions. A little complicated at first but you get a great icon/link on your home screen.

I am very unsatisfied with my C309 printer cutting the edges off my photos

I fully understand if I chose borderless that for some reason if cuts off about 2.5 - 3mm. when I try to prin 4x6. Is there any way around this? I have made adjustments and tried to change the overspray from default to least and this did nothing. I don't think that I should have to factor into account that I am going to lose data if I have my image saved exactly 4x6 from a photo software and want what I see on the screen to print exact same way. I had a previous HP printer and this was never an issue until I got this particular model.

How recently did you switch? If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account. The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices. I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

Is there any way to stop Illustrator from adding "copy" to the name of duplicate layers?

In the layers panel, when I duplicate a layer (or layers) illustrator appends the name of the duplicate with copy, copy 2, copy 3 etc.). Can this behaviour be turned off so that the duplicate layer name is identical to the original?

I doubt it. While Illustrator will allow you to manually assign the same name to multiple layers, I don't believe there is a switch to make it happen by default. Auto-naming of anything is always going to be "protective."

General Error has occured.Object does not exist error in the front end

In the rpd , I have imported 2 new tables to the exisiting connection pool from 2 diferent schemas and used those 2 tables to the existing model in the physical layer and given joins .
I did everything till the presentation layer and when I am trying to pull data from the added table in the front end it is giving me error saying that the oject does not exist.
Also I tried to see the data in the physical layer in rpd and the same error came up
Any solutions please

Seriously: I am genuinely interested in why members of the BI and eBS community with no history of using the APEX forum persistently use this as a dumping ground for off-the-wall requests. If we can find this out then there might be a (remote) possibility of getting something changed on OTN to prevent it and avoid wasting everyone's time.

I changed the loc of my photos Library

i update to the new photos app the other day everything went finest i was always wanting to put my photos on a separate hard drive to i did the following
I copied all the folders aperture i photo and photos to a secondery hard drive
i then launched photos and chose the new loc of the phots app and it seemed to work ok

I copied the photos from my photo stream folder to a new folder on my macbook pro. I then deleted the phots in my photo stream folder. It erased them from the other folder as well. Why? Where did they go? Can I get them back? Please help. Thanks.

Hello, I wanted to clear out my photo stream folder on my macbook pro, so I copied all the photos to a permanent folder. I then deleted all the photos in my photo stream folder. The photos in my backup folder were automatically deleted and I want them retrieved. They are not in my trash and I can't find them. Are photos autmatically backed up in my phots? How can I retrieve the deleted photos? Please help. Thanks.

You can't currently delete individual photos but you can reset
Step 1: Login to your iCloud account on iCloud.com from a Mac or PC.
Step 2: Click on your name at the top right of the main iCloud page.
Step 3: Click on the Advanced option.
Step 4: Click “Reset Photo Stream.” You will then need to confirm.
Step 5: This Photo Stream reset will not go into effect until you toggle Photo Stream on and off on your devices. In iOS, Photo Stream can be turned off and on in the iCloud settings window of the Settings app.

How can I keep the front and back of a photo together in a single image?

I'm running PSE 8 on XP with SP3.
I'm getting ready to upgrade to PSE 9.
My cousin just sent me 24 old family photos.
On the back of each photo is a lot of information.
Who is in the picture, where it was taken, what the event was, etc.
What I'd like to be able to do is to scan these images in and somehow keep the front and the back of
each photo together in a single image. That way I can post them to a photo web site and people
can look at the image and read what it is.
I have a Lexmark Pro 205 printer/scanner.

I worked on one of the pictures with your Mom and Dad. These scans are quite good and there is a lot of information in them. One can spend a lot of time fixing them up - good project!
Here is what I did:
Duplicated background layer
Applied Brightness/contrast adjustment layer, worked the sliders
Merged down
Sampled sky with eye dropper tool, opened blank layer at top of stack, used brush tool to cover a few of the spots in the sky (?dust)
Merged down
Accessed Smart brush tool, selected black & white in drop down, selected high contrast b&w, covered the sky with that
Selected Yellow filter, and covered the ground
Merged down
Opened a blank layer at top of stack and added a couple of clouds
Applied Photofilter adjustment layer, warming filter LBA, adjusted density
Sharpened slightly with unsharp mask
Merged visible
Applied stroke
On review, the spots in the sky need additional work - they show up more on-line than in PSE. Can be fixed in step #4.

all I did was played it back how do I save that and make a new version of the video beacause when I save a copy the effect look I was trying to save was not there.

I would be glad for the opportunity to customize a Premiere Elements 12 answer to your Premiere Elements 12 issue.
But, I want to make sure that we are together on the details. This is my understanding of what you have written. Please review and let me
know if I am misinterpreting anything that you have written.
You have a video created in Windows Movie Maker.
How did you output the video from Windows Movie Maker...wmv or mp4, what was the frame size and frame rate of that export?
Next you import that video into Premiere Elements 12 (can we assume that this is on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit?)
From what you wrote, you have applied a pan and zoom effect to your video in Premiere Elements.
Now you go to export the Premiere Elements 12 Timeline content with your video with the pan and zoom applied.
But, the pan and zoom effect is not seen in playback of the export.
Is all of the above correct so far?
If so....we are going to need some more details from you...
a. What is the project preset that you or the project are setting to match the properties of the video coming from Movie maker? See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Rate, and Pixel Aspect Ratio even if the fields look grayed out.
b. Are you applying the pan and zoom effect with the Pan and Zoom Tool, fx Effects Presets, or keyframing the Scale (for Zoom) and
Position (for Pan) in the Motion Panel expanded?
c. What are you selecting as your export in Publish+Share/. Please give details...are you using default settings or customizing the export
setting under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab of the preset selected?
I am suspecting some sort of mismatch of your project settings or some problems with working with the Pan and Zoom tool. I need
your answers to help me help you. If I have written anything that you do not understand, please let me know. I will re-write if necessary
so that we are in sync to resolve the issue.

How do I get my photos off 1st generation itouch? I have macbook pro, ipad, iphone. Itouch syncs but does not have option to share in any capacity ie send via email, etc. Also, the computer from which photos were originally taken from has crashed.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Did you fail to back up your pics?
The photo sync is one way - comptuer to ipod.
You can e-mail them to yourself (instructions in the manual), but they will not be of the original quality.

I can not move the screen on Elements 11 on a MAC. The top part of the application is cut off and I can't see the top row of photos. I can attach a photo but I am not sure how to do that. have OS 10.9

See the attached photo. I have a photo open but I cannot see the top part of the application. It will not let me scroll up. I cannot move the application. When I click on F3 I can see the full screen and can see the photo but as soon as I click anywhere it goes back to the cup off screen.

That's the organizer? Sorry, but the Grab menu is in front in your screenshot.
If so, go to your username>library>Application Support>Adobe/>Elements Organizer/11.0>organizer and delete status.dat.
BTW, just for future reference, you don't need to bother with Grab for general screenshots. Cmd+shift+3 captures the whole screen, cmd+shift+4 and drag to capture part of it. Here are some other shortcuts (article is for 10.8 but they're the same in 10.9)

I'm editing a video in imovie '08 and adding iphotos to the movie, but some of the photos are not showing. Help

I'm editing the video of a presentation one of my clients has delivered, I'm adding the slides of the presentation in as photos from iphoto, the problem is that some of the photos are now showing up in the video even though they have been added. Also where photo number 7 should be it is showing photo number 12? I really need to sort this out and need help. How do I get the photos to show and show properly in the right place?

I've got a list of things to look at and tryout to see if we can narrow down what's happening. Try any one in any particular order see if the problem keeps happening.
1. What format are the original photos in?
Are the all the same?
If they are different, do some work and others do not?
File formats that are “raw” may be a problem.
File size may also be a problem if they are very large files.
2. Duplicate the project in the Project Library
Try dragging a photo into that copy of the project
Any differences? If you can import photos into the Duplicate, try copying then pasting into the original and see if the image shows up.
3. Duplicate a picture inside of iPhoto
If you want to have a particular picture and can find it within iPhoto try making a duplicate.
Does it show up in the Photo browser? And can you drag that duplicated picture into the project? What do you see, what result do you get?
4. Clean the iMovie cache
Quit out of iMovie. Then go to your Movies Folder > iMovie Events > Project folder name
Drag the folder "iMovie Thumbnails" to your trash. Then open the folder "iMovie Cache" and drag the file "Cache.plist" to the trash.
This should regenerate any cached thumbnails for the project, may be helpful.
5. Try tossing out the iMovie preferences
Quit iMovie.
Open a Finder window to your user's Home folder>Library >Preferences folder. Find the file named "com.apple.iMovie.plist" or "com.apple.iMovieAppl.plist" and move it to the trash.
Try opening iMovie again, then opening the project and dragging a photo from the Photo Browser into the Project timeline.
