Adding Custom Fields to BSEG and BKPF Tables

Hi All,
My customer would like to add around 5 fields to BKPF table and 6-7 fields to BSEG table. Can you all suggest me whether it would be a good idea to add any custom field to these tables ? I would like to mention that standard fields available in these tables will not be used for the requirements of the customer and he is insisting on adding custom fields. I need your expert advice on this matter.

Hi Friend,
Please do not add any custom fields in those tables.
These two tables are pillar of accounting entries in SAP, if you want to push them then it is OK, otherwise find some other way.

Any problem using bseg and bkpf tables

For fico details i using bseg and bkpf tables.
I noted that programming is very difficult because of these tables are cluster table.
plz give me other tables
if i using these tables any problem will come?

Incorrect. BKPF is a transparent table and not a cluster table and you can use it just like any other transparent table. BSEG is a cluster table but there is no problem selecting from it so long as you use the key of BUKRS, BELNR, GJAHR - unless you are selecting a very large amount of data, but then this can cause problems when selecting from any type of table.
The advantage of using BSEG over the other FI line item tables such as BSIS and BSIK is that it holds all the lines of an FI document while the others will hold only a subset eg BSIK will only hold lines that contain a vendor reference and BSAS holds only cleared GL account lines. Though you can only use it when you have the key. If you need to search on vendor, you can use BSIK as a starting point, but since I usually need to get hold of all the lines on an FI document, I then have to select from BSEG anyway.

Idoc for bsid ,bseg and bkpf tables

i have extrated the data from 4.7 and uploading into ecc 6.0.
is there any IDOC for uploading data coming from BSID , BSEG AND BKPF tabels?
i checked bapi , i could not find some fields in bapi .pls.advise if any IDOC
As it is very urgent , pls.help me in this regard .

Adding custom field in ME2B and business function activation

Hi Experts,
I have one requirement for adding one custom field in ME2B for ALV output. From some old thread i come to know we have to implement BADI "ME_CHANGE_OUTTAB_CUS". But when i search for this BADI its not available.
For this BADI suppose we have to activate one business function MM, Integration of Materials Management and Financial Accounting (LOG_MMFI_P2P).
I want to know if we activate this business function then what are the changes will happen in our system(In standard transaction).
Please revert.

Hi Team,
I resolved this issue using enhancement without using BADI. My team not ready to activate the Business so i moved to implicit enhancement.
Inside method " if_reader_mm~read_table." in include "LMEREPI02", we are getting the Fieldcatlog and dynamic table for output. Here i have added my custom field and changed the dynamic structure with reference " ex_table_ref ".
I know this is not a proper way to do, but it is not affecting the standard process.

Adding custom fields in Contract and PO screen

I am trying to enhance contract and PO screen by creating structure Ci_bbp_hdr_ctr and Ci_bbp_hdr_po
Now I am able to display the required fields on the screen.
Is there any other way to do the same??
I want to change the position of the fields, how to achieve that??
and How to display drop down fields??

The position of the customer fields depends on the order you added them in the Incluse structure as per the OSS Notes 458591& 672960. If you added a customer field first then it would appear first simlarly if you have added it at the end of the structure it will appear towards the end of the screen.

Regarding Adding Custom Fields to VTTK and VT01n transaction.

We need to add few custom fields to Shipment header table VTTK.
Also, these fields should be reflected in 'Additional Data' tab of transaction VT01n/VT02n for editing and should be available for display in VT03n.

Hi Arshad,
The fields suppl.1 to suppl.4 and Addit.text 1 to Addit.text 4 are the reserve fields available in additional data tab of shipment.
If those fields are not being used already, u can utilise those fields for your purpose. Please check the documentation for the fields ADD01 to ADD04 and TEXT1 to TEXT4 in VTTK table.
The description of the fields can be modified from CMOD transaction.

FBV1 - missing standard field and adding customer field

Hi there,
I am in a process of developing a batch input program based on RFBIBL00 to upload preliminary posted documents.
The problem is some fields are not there. A standard field BKPF-REINDAT is missing. Also there is a requirement to add a customer field from BSEG (on vendor screen).
I have searched SAP notes for possible solutions, most of them include modifying screens by hand and adding the required fields there (i.e. Note 1347046 - VATDATE: Field missing in batch input parking (FBV1)).
This is quite a serious modification, requiring access key to change SAP objects. Before I decide to change SAP standard objects I kindly ask whether anyone tried that ? REINDAT might work, as it's a standard field, but I'm note sure about customer fields.
Has anyone tried modifying FBV1 or any of FI posting screens by hand and can provide some input on this ?

Dear Bart ,
as You know the field in question is intended only for US-Federal customers.
The field is not availble into the standard system using the parking transaction; therefore You should run se51 at Your own responsability and do the changes.
If You need to be completely sure about the impact on the customer System, please kindly open a message on the marketplace.

We have a requirement to update WBS Element for Planning related Data. So have added custom field(WBS Element) in structure CI_FAGLFLEX04.
The field is visible when I open FAGLFLEXP table, but when I post data The custom field (WBS Element) is not being updated. Could you please let me know the process to update this field?

The procedure isn't so simple. There are several posts on the subject SCN. I suggest research before you start developing.

However, the most important is: a) Is it really necessary to change the standard? b) There could be a Z table containing the new information and referencing FAGLFLEXP? c) What is the transaction that will keep the data? It has Exit´s for what you need?

Actually your approach may be wrong, first as an ABAPer should ask to functional team, which transaction and where to insert the fields, it could be header or item level(I am saying example)
Based on tcode, you need to enhance the table level as well as the screen exit/BADI we need to pass screen to internal programming structure. the structure type will be table type of FAGLFLEXP.

Adding custom fields to DB table

Hi,
I added custom fields in std DB table using CI_* , activated table using SE14. Now I want to remove the added custom fields , I deleted the CI_* using SE11. It still appears in DB table, I mean I dont expect to disappear from DB table, when I double click it still takes to structure screen. I deleted include from SE80 also selecting Package, activated and adjusted DB table from SE14 after deletion, but it still appears and when I check the attributes it shows the same package , how to reset the CI_* , bottom line ,I want to make DB table normal as before, because of that I am getting dumps when I execute std DB table related T codes.
It should be done in easy way but not able to get breakthrough.
Please let me know your suggestions.

Hi Sai,
Try to assign the CI_* structure to $temp,i.e as local object and then activate it first.
After that, try deleting the local object and adjust the table using SE14.
If still it does not work, ask your BASIS consultant to do an "Alter table".

ABAP Query: FI Tables - BSEG and BKPF

Dear All,
I have tried to use SAPQuery - SQ01 to join 2 SAP tables (BSEG and BKPF) by creating an Infoset (SQ01 >> Environment >> Infosets >> Create)
However, there is always an error message for the table join when I generate the infoset. Tables BSEG and BKPF are joined together by conditions BSEG-BELNR & BKPF-BELNR; BKPF-BURKS & BKPF-BURKS; BSEG-GJAHR and BKPF-GJHAR.
The error message prompted is, "You cannot use comparisons with column references in pool and cluster". Is the message trying to say that BELNR, NURKS and GJAHR are column references in pool and cluster, thats why we can't join the tables?
The purpose of the infoset is to extract accounting documents. I will need to extract accounting doc data from DEV, QA and Prodcution Server. If I use SAP QuickViewer, everytime I go to a differenct server I will need to create the QuickViewer in the system before I can use it. But if i use SAP Query, i will need to create once and transport the SAP Query to another server.
Kindly advise if there is a way I can extract accountng document by using SAP Query?

Im tyring to extract information for open GL items. Thus the relevant tables would be BSIS. But I find that some fields such as Purchase Order Number; Purchase Order Line Item, Asset No.,Asset Sub-No which Im interested in do not exist in BSIS. But these fields can be found in Table BSEG?
If I have to link BSEG and BKPF, how should i go about doing it?

RBKP and BKPF table update from MIRO

I am using the BADI BADI_FDCB_SUBBAS01 to add a custom field in MIRO transaction. The added custom field is getting updated in RBKP transaction.
I also want to update the custom field data in BKPF table, but i dont know when the BKPF table gets updated in MIRO transaction.

Adding custom fields to Embedded Search

Hi All,
I have read the post [here|How to add custom fields to Embedded Search; about adding custom fields to Embedded Search. I am looking to add Employee Subgroup for use in Talent Management (specifically the STVN SuccessionPlanning component) and wanted to know if anyone can expand on the instructions in the link to add this field.
It appears to be part of the HRTMC_PERSON search object connector already and while I've done some IMG configuration the field is showing in SuccessionPlanning, but not displaying any data.
Additionally, I'd be interested in any tips to add information that is not from PA0002 should it be required in the future.

I am assuming here that your search request fields are based on HRTCM_CENTRALPERSON search template. To enable your search to work on employee subgroup please do the following
1) Check if the HRTMC_PERSON Template extracts the data from Infotype 0001 via SPRO node 'Define Search Models and Change Pointer' Extraction Class is 'CL_HRTMC_SEARCH_READ_PA_INFTY'.
2) Via ESH_COCKPIT, goto Template Modeler and select your custom Software Component and press Edit. Goto roadmap step 5 - Define Requests - where all search request fields are defined. Its using these fields Talent search works.
3) Select the search request e.g. 'SAP_TALENT_NAKISA', it would then show list searchable attributes in below table. Using 'Add' button select path for PERSK so that it can searched.
It would look like this once selected
OBJID(REL_CP_P)->HRTMC_REL_CP_P_209.REL_CP_P(REL_CP)->HRTMC_PERSON.OBJID->HRTMC_PERSON.ORG_ASSIGNMENT
