Adding/DELETING Titles & Comments to Individual Photos In An iDVD Slideshow

I am running iDVD 6.0.3 where I have 85 titled photos [selected, not imported, from Media/Photos into iDVD] already entered into an iDVD slideshow. I would like to have a title on ONLY the FIRST photo. The iDVD "Help Menu" makes it sound like this wish of mine would be possible as it states: "You don't have to include text for all the images. Only text you add will appear in your slideshow; the placeholder text will not appear."
I do know HOW to add a title and/or comment to the FIRST photo, but how do I DELETE the title and or comment from the other 84 photos? Do I have to go through each one and MANUALLY delete each title? That seems like a LOT of trouble, and perhaps I am just missing a way to do this more easily???
I know about using the gear shaped Settings feature to check "Show titles and comments", but that is where it includes the titles that are already on all of the 85 photo from when I chose them from the Media/Photos pane; unless, it seems, that I were to delete the other 84 titles and/or comments INDIVIDUALLY.

Yes, you are right, I could make a "title photo" in iPhoto from a card I could design [I do not have Photoshop Elements] and use that for the title. Thank you. It just seems like this same thing should be able to be done within iDVD itself with the way they have the directions written in the iDVD "Help Menu".
After I made my original post on this topic, I think I solved my own question using a round-about method. I had to use the "batch change" to "no title" in iPhoto BEFORE selecting my 85 photos in iDVD slideshow. That way all of the title/comment areas were blank when I brought them into iDVD, and then I could just add titles or comments to the exact individual photo of the 85 that I wanted to label. So I was able to accomplish what I wanted it to do. It just seems, however, that iDVD should have an option in iDVD to add title/comments to individual photos without having to take the titles off all of the labels ahead of time in iPhoto. If the iPhoto program can allow the titles of photos to be removed as a "batch change", it seems that iDVD should have been designed with that same feature! Or maybe I am missing something here?

  • I have two related keyword problems.  Some keywords get "broadcast" to every photo in an event.  It's almost impossible to delete these keywords from individual photos.  I select the keyword, hit delete and it reappears after a few seconds.

I have two related problems with keywords in iphoto 11.  Sometimes, keywords get magically "broadcast" to every photo in an event or album.  It's difficult to delete these keywords.  If I select one and try to delete it it vanishes.  About half the time, it reappears again either in a couple of seconds or after I go to another photo and then return to the previous one.  When thios happens, I need to delete the keyword two or more times before it actually vanishes.  With several hundred photos in an event that all have a bad keyword, this is a tedious process.  I've tried rebuilding the library once, but with only the first (I think) option checked on the rebuild.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Photo repeating in idvd slideshow

I'm using idvd 5.0.1 and have 3 slideshows on my dvd. When I burned the disc and played it on my dvd player, each slideshow has a photo repeated a the end of the slideshow for about a half second. The first slideshow has the first photo repeated and the other 2 have the last photos repeated. The "loop" feature is turned off and the f"it to music" is on.
Any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix??
    g3   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Go back to iPhoto to see if the orientation somehow was changed. If so, make the correction there, and reimport into iDVD.
    I hope this helps.

  • Comments and Titles for iDVD slideshows

I am wondering if there is any way to change the appearance (font, size, etc.) of the comments and titles for photos in an iDVD slideshow.  I have not found a way to do this, and am surprised since it seems I am able to change appearance for the text in virtually all other areas of iDVD.  I am running version 7.1.2.  Thanks for any suggestions.

No, there's no way to modify that font or size.

  • Transfering photos with titles, comments, etc between computers

I have a MacBook and an iMac. The iMac is my primary computer and has the larger hard drive. I store all my pictures on the iMac. When I am on the road, I like to update my photos by adding titles, comments, and keywords.
Is there a way I can take a specific album or set of pictures (not the whole library), export them to include all titles, keywords, comments, etc to my MacBook. Import them in iPhoto on my MB and then when I am done, export those pictures back to my iMac, preserving all the new keywords, comments, titles that I added?
I have read here that there are some people suggesting that people make a CD/DVD of the images by exporting to CD which is to include the XML data of the images. But I do not wish to do this, as I am going to be transfering these pictures frequently.
    I appreciate your help.

No, connect the two computers so that you can access both from whichever one you want as the primary. You can use a firewire cable and put one in the Target Mode. Then launch iPLM and add both libraries to its list of available libraries. Then you can do the moving between the libraries. This is the only application that can do the merge of copy of files between libraries and keep the metadata, etc. iPhoto Buddy only lets you manage, i.e. move between, multiple libraries.

  • How can I move my iPhoto Library from one Mac to another without losing the comments on the individual photos in the process?

How can I move my iPhoto Library from one Mac to another without losing the comments on the individual photos in the process? The source Macbook (OS 10.4.11 and iPhoto 6.0.6 (3.2.2.)) is with my husband in Germany, the target MacBook Pro (OS 10.8.5, iPhoto 11) is with me in Japan. Thanks for your help.

I copied the iPhoto Library to a CD and from there to the new MacBook
If you copied the library to the CD via the Finder it would be no different than the methods Terence suggested.  If you used the Share ➙ Burn menu option from inside iDVD you'll get a mini library that has to be accessed from the open library and the events/alubums copied into the destination library.  Not the same as the other methods.
The Share ➙ Burn method is no longer supported with iPhoto 9 and later.

  • I have finally figured out how to export an iphoto album so that I can maintain the proper order of the photos after burning the file. How do I keep each individual photo title and description after exporting and burning?

I have finally figured out how to export an iphoto album so that I can maintain the proper order of the photos after burning the file. How do I keep each individual photo title and description after exporting and burning?  Presently after exporting and burning each photo is identified by the file name rather than each individual title description.

File name and Title are not the same thing.
Filename is attached to the Jpeg file in the Finder.
Title is attached to the photo within the Jpeg file - as is the description. These are written to the Exif and IPTC metadata on export.
So: File -> Export. Kind: Jpeg or Tiff and Check the box at 'Title and Keywords'. This will write the Title, keywords and descriptions (though not explicitly stated) to the metadata. This can then be viewed in any app that understand this material.
You can choose, if you wish, to also use the Title as a Filename - that's an option at File Name

I am having trouble deleting individual photos on Shared Photo Streaming on my iPad 2. There is not a trash can or delete option. If I choose edit on the first page, and I try to delete, the next step is to cancel photo sharing, which I don't want to do.

Youre trying to delete photos from someone else's shared photostream. You can only delete photos that belong to you.

I have an iPhone 3gs, operating on iOS 6.  For some reason, I'm unable to custom delete individual photos from my photo library.  When I select the Edit button to do so, I'm only given the 2 options of "Share" and "Add To". My Camera Roll does everything the way I wish my Photo Library would.  Can anyone help?

Only photos in the Camera Roll can be deleted.  The rest of the photos got there by synching to your computer.  You get them off the same way.

  • When I try to stamp a document, a blank comment box gets added to the stamp. And then when I try to delete the comment, the whole stamp gets deleted.

    Hello!
I stamped a document in Reader X with no problem. However, when I open it in Professional, a comment box is added to the stamp with my name on it. And I can't delete the comment box without deleting the whole stamp. So it's a problem in Reader, but it is in Professional, and I'd like to get it fixed in case my clients use Professional.
    Thanks for your help!

Try this: Go to Edit - Preferences - Commenting and disable the option "Automatically open comment pop-ups ...".

  • Adding Descriptions to Individual Photos in Web Gallery

I'm looking for an easy (or easier, considering my current method) way of creating a web gallery in lightroom that gives me the ability to add descriptions of individual photos.
What I've been doing thus far is limiting myself to only the galleries which separate the 'large' pictures in their own folder from the 'small' or 'thumb' photos. The small or thumb photos are the ones used for navigation. When one is selected, the large photo is displayed. I have been generating the galleries with Lightroom, opening up the Large directory, then opening every single large picture in Photoshop. Then I extend the canvas in the same direction for each photo, and write the description next to the photo and save it. That way, when you open the gallery, the thumbnails all look as they normally would, but when you click on them you're greeted with a large picture and a description.
This process is long, boring, and painstakingly annoying. I have done this for approximately 200 pictures thus far. The end result looks just fine, but my research into having Lightroom let me add visible descriptions has turned up nothing. Is there a template, engine, or anything else that will allow me to display pictures with some text next to it?

Haven't you looked at the Image Info panel in Web? You enter captions in Library, in its Metadata panel, and then tell Web to display them.

  • Adding Individual Photos to Slide Show?

Is there a way to add photos directly to a slideshow?
The only thing I can figure out to do is to throw out the old slideshow, add the photo to the library from which the show is created and start all over. That's a pain if I've worked any on custom settings.

  • How to stop iPhoto deleting titles?

    The Context:
    * I'm in an album I've made of photos from our year.
    * I'm adding titles to all the photos because it's going to be made into a slideshow for our grandparents.
    * My library is approx 155 GB- just over 14 000 photos + video. I don't think this should be a problem though.
    The problem:
I am editing a title of a photo by browsing the album, clicking on the current title name, selecting it and adding my new title.
I then either a) hit enter or b) click somewhere else in iPhoto. It doesn't matter which one I do, it still happens.
Some of the time at approximately 30 seconds the title just disappears. At first I wasn't expecting this, so was just carying on renaming other photos as usual. But as it persisted I just changed a title and sat there to see if it would do it again. It happens both ways.
It only happens on random photos. These are photos from my entire year, taking on at least 5 different types of camera, at different times, places etc. There doesn't seem to be any consistency or patterns that I can see.
I've gone back an re-added the titles to some photos. About 2/3 of the time they then keep the title and don't delete it, and the other 1/3 of the time they just continually delete. There are about 3 photos which I have changed the title on 5 or 6 times, and it always disappears.
I've tried lots of different combinations:
         * with and without punctuation,
         * enter vs. clicking away,
         * short captions vs. long captions
         * adding titles by click on the title below the photo, and adding titles via the 'info' panel on the side
Has anyone even HEARD of this problem before?! It seems so random and completely bonkers. I've tried googling it and can't find anything helpful. I seriously want to take a bat to my computer and just bash the crap out of it for being so annoying.

By fixing the cause, of course. See the reply to your other post for more.
